- Abstract
Artistic education has a beneficial influence on the integral development of the human being. However, there is a gap in their research, as well as in their knowledge of these advantages. For this reason, it is especially relevant to examine the attitude of future teachers about art, or more specifically, in terms of its didactics. However, so far no scales have been found that assess, from a quantitative methodology, attitudes regarding the Didactics of Plastic Expression. For this reason, this work aimed to design and validate Brief Scale of Attitudes on the Didactics of Plastic Expression (EADEP) and observe the invariance between sexes. METHOD. To do this, a sample of 190 future teachers (Mage= 20.05; SD= 3.67) was used for a first study and 790 (Mage= 19.88; SD= 4.03) for a second. RESULTS. The first of these yielded a factor for EADEP with adequate psychometric properties. The second one indicated a good fit of the data for the unifying structure of EADEP, remaining invariant according to gender. CONCLUSION. Therefore, it offers a valid and reliable measurement instrument for the attitude towards Didactics of Plastic Expression and reflects on the need to increase studies in this field.

“I feel alive and co live” project is the acting frame for working in the public education at a school in Madrid in which students coming from a foreign origin in their majority co live. Along three consecutive courses, “Arteterapia” has been introduced gradually with the agreement of the teachers’ department. The main aim has been to increase self esteem and improve social relationships by means of plastic arts, music and dancing, based on “Arteterapia” defining principles. In the first course of application, the project was implemented in first grades (children education). It was extended afterwards in the following teaching period to different levels of Primary Education in order to gather in the present course the whole student community. This is a project included within the institutional programme “To Co live is to Live” destined to help those centres that work towards the prevention of violence in the educative sphere. The project’s objectives are developed around artistic education, musical education and physical education with students of first grades and Primary Education. During the process, the teachers implied have received a series of training sessions in which craft classes of Arteterapia, Musicoterapia and Danzaterapia were included.

In the present paper is described the learning process of pupils of a popular workshop of painting. Discursive, behavioral and social aspects of learning are integrated. The need to analyze the concrete contexts of learning beyond the simple description of the activities inside the workshop is defended. The paper suggests the social origin of the discursive resources of the pupils and in this way “the artistic thought” is relabeled as “artistic speech”. The social contexts of activity out and inside the workshop are located in the apex of what is called an inverted triangle of the artistic education.

Nowadays, Internet and mass media development have caused a radical change in communication in Western World. Written language is giving way to visual language. Businessmen and publicists profit of the power of images to transmit messages, bombing us with all kinds of visual products and contributing to the creation of a passive and manageable receiver. We are living in a period of history characterized by individualism and no ideals. But, in contrast, with the development of the multimedia world, many users create their own personal spaces to express their opinions. Receivers also demand an active role in the process of communication. Creative citizenship and new artistic groups show us what we can achieve with commitment and participation. In this article we will analyse the necessity of a kind of educative action that demands a critical and reflective use of visual language. From artistic education we can propose creative activities that help us understand the world and change what we do not like from it.

In this work, a contemporary artistic education program for people with early dementia is presented. The assumptions on which the design of the program content was based and the organization of the activities included therein are described. Dementia was not an impediment to participate in the program, which was an opportunity for creativity, learning, enjoyment, and communication. A high level of participant commitment in the proposed activities was observed as well as great interest to learn new things. We also observed the participants’ satisfaction with their results and during the creative process. The artistic activities not only reinforced the feelings of capacity of the participants with early dementia but also transmitted a positive image of them. To facilitate access to art and artistic education to people with early dementia can contribute to enforcing their rights and to improving the care system. In view of the results of this experience, we consider that art should be a part of caring for people with dementia, as artistic activities can extend the cognitive and emotional resources of the people who participate in them. These activities can provide them with new opportunities to learn, to develop skills, to share their ideas and the results of their work with other people, and to intensely enjoy their involvement in a creative process.

The times we live are made up by a cultural diversity that forces to assume the challenge of tolerance and the respect to other as a base of a pacific living together. The Educational Institution should be a space in which we can be aware of what truly signify the different cultures that in a specific historic moment share a territory, that role perform each one of them and because. It is a matter of living diversity as an enriched phenomenon, scorning the prejudices and stereotypes that are given in society as a result of ignorance and that are cause and effect of the discrimination that suffer diverse ethnic groups. Here we show an experiencie through Artistic Education, that begins from the prejudice of "Indian" and finishes with an exercise of "Land Art", going across a way in which the cultural interchange is the base of creativity and an harmony living.
