- Abstract
The explosion iconoclast who continued to the revolt of July 18 gave a notable advantage to the rebellious propaganda to discredit the republicans. Expensive books and pamphlets were published in which the expressive photos of mutilated images and destroyed temples were dominating on the text; in their preparation and writing local historians and scholars collaborated. As complement to these leaflets, there were celebrated exhibitions of mutilated works of art and tourist routes were planned to see churches damaged by the anticlerical ones. The objective was to show to the republicans as barbarians and to the Franco supporters as the defenders of the western civilization., La explosión iconoclasta que siguió a la sublevación del 18 de julio dio una baza notable a la propaganda rebelde para desprestigiar a los republicanos.
