We report the presence of the Rufous Collared Sparrow Zonotrichia capensis for the first time in the departments of Loreto and San Martín at 155 and 240 m altitude respectively, which corresponds to the first confirmed record of the species for the Peruvian Amazon. It is possible that the presence of the species is due to the existence of the Tarapoto - Yurimaguas road, which would facilitate the occupation of the species by landscape transformation., Reportamos la presencia del Gorrión de Collar Rufo Zonotrichia capensis por primera vez en los departamentos de Loreto y San Martín a 155 y 240 m de altitud respectivamente, la cual corresponde al primer registro confirmado de la especie para la Amazonía peruana. Es posible que la presencia de la especie se deba a la existencia de la carretera que comunica Tarapoto con Yurimaguas, lo que facilitaría la ocupación de la especie por la modificación del paisaje.

Herein we report the second record in Peru of Cyttarops alecto (Emballonuridae) and Eumops wilsoni (Molossidae), both little known bats of Neotropical region. Reports are based on specimens collected in Lambayeque and Loreto Departments, and their geographical distribution are extended in Peru.

El presente trabajo registra por primera vez para el Perú a Nematophila grandis (Diesing, 1839) Travassos, 1934, en la tortuga de río Podocnemis unifilis «taricaya». Los hospederos fueron colectados en las localidades del Río Putumayo, Samiria, Iquitos (Loreto) y Manu (Madre de Dios). El material identificado pertenece a la Colección Helmintológica del Departamento de Protozoología, Helmintología e Invertebrados Afines del Museo de Historia Natural de la Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. The present work registers for the first time for the Peru to Nematophila grandis (Diesing, 1839) Travassos, 1934 in the Yellow-spotted River Turtle Podocnemis unifilis «taricaya». The hosts were collected from the localities of the River Putumayo, Samiria, Iquitos (Loreto) and Manu (Madre de Dios). Identified material was deposited in the Helmintological Collection of the Department of Protozoology, Helmintology and Relationed Invertebrates of the Natural History Museum of San Marcos University.

En casos de inundaciones se presentan condiciones favorables para la reproducción de artrópodos vectores del dengue o fiebre amarilla, así como mamíferos roedores reservorios de leptospiras. Además, el hábitat de animales silvestres como los ofidios se ve afectado, produciendo un mayor contacto con las personas. Por ello, el objetivo del estudio fue determinar la asociación de casos de enfermedades zoonóticas y accidentes producidos por animales, registrados en el Hospital Regional de Loreto-Iquitos “Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias”, entre enero y junio de 2011 y 2012 fechas en las que se reportaron precipitaciones pluviales regulares e inundaciones, respectivamente. Se revisó la base de datos de la Oficina de Epidemiología del Hospital y se transfirieron a una base de datos. La frecuencia de presentación de enfermedades zoonóticas y accidentes por mordedura de ofidios fue contrastada mediante el cálculo del Odds Ratio. Se registró un total 7595 y 6917 en el período enero-julio de los años 2011 y 2012 respectivamente. Se encontró un riesgo de 2.08 (1.19-3.62) para los registros de la enfermedad de Paludismo por Plasmodium falciparum y de 0.096 (0.079-0.116) para la enfermedad de Dengue Clásico, cuando se considera al año 2012 (año de inundaciones) como factor de riesgo. Otras enfermedades como Leptospirosis y accidentes por ofidios no se encontraron asociadas a la época de lluvia extrema. Los resultados permiten valorar que el paludismo es una enfermedad que debe de tenerse en cuenta en casos de desastres naturales como son las inundaciones en esta región., Floods generate favorable conditions for the reproduction of arthropod vectors of dengue and yellow fever, as well as rodent mammals leptospira reservoirs. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the association of cases of zoonotic diseases and accidents produced by animals, registered in the Regional Hospital of LoretoIquitos “Felipe Santiago Arriola Iglesias”, between January - June 2011 and 2012, dates that reported regular rainfall and floods, respectively. After reviewing the records of the Bureau of Epidemiology of the Hospital, they were transferred to a database. The frequency of submission of zoonotic diseases and accidents by bite of ophidians was contrasted through the calculation of the Odds Ratio. There were a total 7595 and 6917 in the period January-July of the years 2011 and 2012 respectively. We found a risk of 2.08 (1.19-3.62 ) for the records of the disease of Plasmodium falciparum Malaria and 0,096 (0,079-0,116 ) for the Classic Dengue disease, when it comes to 2012 (year of floods) as a risk factor. Other diseases such as leptospirosis and accidents by ophidia were found not to be associated with the extreme rainy season. The results indicate that malaria is a disease that must be taken into account in case of natural disasters such as flooding in this region.

En el presente trabajo se reporta, por primera vez en el Perú, la presencia del nemátode Trichostrongylidae Mecistocirrus digitatus (Linstow, 1906) Railliet and Henry, 1912, encontrado en vacunos de Loreto, Perú., In this paper, Mecistocirrus digitatus (Linstow, 1906) Railliet and Henry, 1012 a nematode Trichostrongylidae is reported in the fi rst time from Loreto, Peru.
