This paper is about the development of a new material from the composition of a renewable biodegradable polymer – the starch – added to paper waste. We describe the process of obtaining this composite material and the analysis of its intangible characteristics. As a result of this research, we can argue that this composite material can be an interesting alternative for designing innovative and sustainable products. Este artigo constitui-se no desenvolvimento de um novo material oriundo da composição de um polímero biodegradável de fonte renovável, o amido, adicionado ao resíduo de papel. Descreve-se o processo de obtenção deste material compósito e sua análise sob o aspecto das características intangíveis. Como resultado desta pesquisa pode-se afirmar que este compósito pode constituir-se como uma alternativa interessante para criação de produtos inovadores e sustentáveis.
