Sugarcane is a good source of renewable energy and helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. Nitrogen has a critical role in plant growth; therefore,estimating nitrogen levels is essential, and remote sensing can improve fertilizer management. This field study selects wavelengths from hyperspectral data on a sugarcane canopy to generate models for estimating leaf nitrogen concentrations. The study was carried out in the municipalities of Piracicaba, Jaú, and Santa Maria da Serra, state of São Paulo, in the 2013/2014 growing season. The experiments were carried out using a completely randomized block design with split plots (three sugarcane varieties per plot [variety SP 81-3250 was common to all plots] and four nitrogen concentrations [0, 50, 100, and 150 kgha-1] per subplot) and four repetitions. The wavelengths that best correlated with leaf nitrogen were selected usingsparse partial least square regression. The wavelength regionswere combinedby stepwise multiple linear regression. Spectral bands in the visible (700-705 nm), red-edge (710-720 nm), near-infrared (725, 925, 955, and 980 nm), and short-wave infrared (1355, 1420, 1595, 1600, 1605, and 1610 nm) regions were identified. The R² and RMSE of the model were 0.50 and 1.67 g.kg-1, respectively. The adjusted R² and RMSE of the models for Piracicaba, Jaú, and Santa Maria were 0.31 (unreliable) and 1.30 g.kg-1, 0.53 and 1.96 g.kg-1, and 0.54 and 1.46 g.kg-1, respectively. Our results showed that canopy hyperspectral reflectance can estimate leaf nitrogen concentrations and manage nitrogen application in sugarcane. RESUMO: A cana-de-açúcar se destaca como uma das fontes de energia renovável frente às estratégias para reduzir a emissão de gases causadores do efeito estufa. O nitrogênio é um dos mais significativos devido ao seu impacto no crescimento de folhas e colmos. Portanto, o monitoramento eficiente do nitrogênio aplicado é essencial e o sensoriamento remoto se apresenta como uma alternativa na melhoria do gerenciamento da adubação. O presente trabalho teve por objetivo selecionar comprimentos de onda a partir de dados hiperespectrais de dossel da cana-de-açúcar para geração de modelos na predição da concentração de Nitrogênio. O estudo foi realizado em experimentos de campo instalados nos municípios de Piracicaba, Jaú e Santa Maria da Serra, estado São Paulo, na safra 2013/2014. Cada experimento foi alocado em blocos ao acaso, com parcelas subdivididas e quatro repetições, com variedades de cana-de-açúcar na parcela (três variedades por local, sendo a SP 81-3250 comum à todos) e doses de nitrogênio (0, 50, 100 e 150 kg.ha-1) na subparcela. Na seleção dos comprimentos de onda que melhor se correlacionam com o TFN foi utilizada a metodologia sPLS. Posteriormente, foi realizada a combinação linear dos comprimentos de onda selecionados pela metodologia sPLS, por meio de Regressão Linear Múltipla por Stepwise (SMLR). Foram identificadas bandas importantes nas regiões do visível (700 a 705 nm), red-edge(710 a 720 nm), infravermelho próximo (725, 925, 955 e 980 nm) e infravermelho de ondas curtas (1355, 1420, 1595, 1600, 1605 e 1610 nm). O modelo de predição de TFN teve valores de R² de 0,50 e o RMSE de 1,67 g.kg-1. Os modelos gerados para Piracicaba, Jaú e Santa Maria obtiveram R² ajustados e RMSE, respectivamente, de 0,31 considerado não confiável (1,30 g.kg-1), 0,53 (1,96 g.kg-1) e 0,54 (1,46 g.kg-1). Os sensores hiperespectrais de dossel podem ser utilizados para predição do TFN e monitoramento de aplicação de nitrogênio em cana-de-açúcar.

The importance of monitoring phytoplankton communities and variables related to their constituents such as chlorophyll-a is undeniable due to its relation to the quality of the water. Even so, further improvements are necessary on the representativeness of the samples, aiming spatial and temporal pattern recognition of the given variables. Data and techniques of remote sensing have been mentioned as a viable alternative to supply this demand. In contrast, the remote estimation of phytoplankton chlorophyll-a concentration may still be seen as a challenge, mainly in bodies of water of case 2 classification, mostly due to the effects of different optically-active components on the sensing data, including the distinct phytoplankton organisms. For this purpose, algorithms were and currently are being developed. Among those, there are empirical models of a unique spectral band obtained in analysis of simple linear regression. However, this technique is only applicable when a single independent variable affects the dependent variable, which does not occur in bodies of water case 2 classification. Within this context, the general objective of the present work was to verify the adequacy of empirical models developed by simple linear regression to estimate phytoplankton chlorophyll-a from reflectance data in a unique spectral band and to demonstrate that phytoplankton organisms can be considered distinct optically-active components in the water. In order to meet this objective, phytoplankton organisms classified as Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae and Chlorophyceae were isolated and cultivated; samples of inorganic sediments were processed and geometries of illumination and acquisition of radiometry data were determined and controlled to perform this experiment in laboratory level, which consisted basically of water reflectance measurements in a tank, in distinct treatments related to the optically-active components present on it. The correlation analysis, simple linear regression and mean squared error, showed that the empirical models of a unique spectral band, developed by simple linear regression, may miscount the concentration of chlorophyll-a even when the water contains only phytoplankton, as the phytoplankton organisms cultivated have promoted distinct and reverse reflectance variation in relation to chlorophyll-a concentration variation and they may be considered distinct optically-active components in the water. In the presence of inorganic suspended solids the estimation errors may be even larger, as additive effects of this component on the reflectance of water variations are not subtracted by the model, but rather considered as being caused by chlorophyll-a. Therefore, the empirical models developed by simple linear regression from reflectance data of a single spectral band are inappropriate for estimating chlorophyll-a phytoplankton in bodies of water, as there is no single wavelength in the visible and infrared regions next to the electromagnetic spectrum that is affected only by the independent variable chlorophyll-a, even when there are only phytoplankton in the water. A importância do monitoramento da comunidade fitoplanctônica e de variáveis relacionadas aos seus organismos constituintes, como a clorofila-a, é indubitável, devido às sua relação com a qualidade das águas, mas, ainda são necessários avanços acerca da representatividade das amostras, visando o reconhecimento de padrões espaciais e temporais da referida variável. Dados e técnicas de sensoriamento remoto têm sido referenciados como uma alternativa viável para suprir esta demanda. Por outro lado, a estimativa remota das concentrações de clorofila-a fitoplanctônica ainda pode ser vista como um desafio, principalmente em corpos de água do caso dois, em grande parte devido aos efeitos dos diferentes componentes opticamente ativos sobre os dados de sensoriamento remoto, inclusive dos distintos organismos fitoplanctônicos. Algoritmos foram e estão sendo desenvolvidos para este propósito, dentre eles os modelos empíricos de uma única banda espectral obtidos em análises de regressão simples, apesar de esta técnica ser aplicável somente quando uma única variável independente afeta a variável dependente, o que não ocorre em corpos de água do caso dois. Neste contexto, o objetivo geral do presente trabalho foi verificar a adequabilidade de modelos empíricos desenvolvidos por regressão simples para estimar a clorofila-a fitoplanctônica a partir de dados de reflectância de uma única banda espectral e demonstrar que organismos fitoplanctônicos podem ser considerados distintos componentes opticamente ativos das águas. Para cumprir com o referido objetivo, organismos fitoplanctônicos classificados como Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae e Chlorophyceae foram isolados e cultivados, amostras de sedimentos inorgânicos foram processadas e geometrias de iluminação e de aquisição dos dados radiométricos foram determinadas e controladas para a realização de um experimento em nível laboratorial, que constou basicamente de medições da reflectância da água de um tanque, em distintos tratamentos relacionados aos componentes opticamente ativos presentes na mesma. As análises de correlação, regressão simples e o erro quadrático médio, mostraram que os modelos empíricos de uma única banda espectral, desenvolvidos por regressão simples, podem estimar erroneamente as concentrações de clorofila-a, mesmo que na água contiver apenas fitoplâncton, porque os organismos fitoplanctônicos cultivados promoveram variações distintas e inversas da reflectância em função das variações nas concentrações de clorofila-a e podem ser considerados distintos componentes opticamente ativos das águas. Na presença de sólidos suspensos inorgânicos os erros de estimativa podem ser ainda maiores, porque os efeitos aditivos desse componente sobre a variação da reflectância da água, não são subtraídos pelo modelo, mas sim considerados como sendo ocasionados por clorofila-a. Portanto, os modelos empíricos desenvolvidos por regressão simples a partir de dados de reflectância de uma única banda espectral são inadequados para estimar clorofila-a fitoplanctônica em corpos de água, mesmo porque, não há um único comprimento de onda das regiões de visível e infravermelho próximo do espectro eletromagnético que seja afetado somente pela variável independente clorofila-a, mesmo que na água contiver apenas fitoplâncton.

The built of reservoirs provides progress by the exploitation and multiple use of water resources, but it also brings changes and impacts in the quality of water. One of the main interests in the use of products of remote sensing in water environments is to verify the spatial and temporal variation of water composition, enabling the investigation on the origin and displacement of specific substances in suspension or substances dissolved in water. In this context, the general objective of this thesis consists of verifying the potential use of remote sensing for monitoring water in Passo Real reservoir. In order to achieve this, three specific objectives were stipulated; 1) To characterize and verify the relation among physical limnologic, chemical and biological variables of Passo Real reservoir; 2) To analyze the influence of the constituents optically active in the spectral response of water in the reservoir and to verify the potential use in the techniques of first derivative and continuum removal for the extraction of information in spectrum of reflectance and identification of wavelength with the finest correlation with limnologic variables; and 3) To evaluate the potential use of images LISS-III/Resourcesat-1 in the estimate of constituents optically active in the water of Passo Real. The variables of water color, transparency, temperature, turbidity and dissolved oxygen were obtained in field and the total of suspended solids, dissolved solids, Hidrogenionic potential, electrical conductivity and chlorophyll-a were determined in laboratory after collection of samples in field. In fieldwork, the measures of water reflectance factor were collected between wavelengths of 400 and 900nm as use of spectroradiometer. The images of satellite used for the analysis of water reflectance were produced by the satellite resourcesat-1, Sensor LISS-III. The spatialisation of the limnologic data obtained in situ was performed by interpolation and the spatializations of estimated data by satellite were obtained by slicing the image generated in the insertion of equations obtained in the models. The strong correlation between data of total of solids in suspension with the turbidity and transparency of water increases the importance of analysis integrated in the variables optical of water environment. From the analysis of the reflectance spectra, it was possible to infer the performance of the components optically active in the spectral characteristics of water. The use of techniques for interpretation of spectrum was important to the extraction of information and analysis of data. Each technique highlighted well the given spectral characteristics. From the set of available data, it was possible to produce models capable of estimating the total of suspended solids, the turbidity and the transparency of water with only one spectral band, band 3, from the sensor LISS-III/Resourcesat-1. By the application of the technique spectral band reason, it was possible to generate a model for the estimate of concentration of chlorophyll-a. A construção de represas proporciona o progresso com o aproveitamento e usos múltiplos dos recursos hídricos, porém, traz alterações e impactos na qualidade da água. Um dos principais interesses no uso de produtos de sensoriamento remoto em ambientes aquáticos é verificar a variação espacial e temporal da composição da água, possibilitando investigar a origem e o deslocamento de substâncias específicas em suspensão ou dissolvidas na água. Nesse contexto, o objetivo geral desta tese consiste em verificar o potencial de utilização do sensoriamento remoto para monitoramento da água do reservatório Passo Real. Para isso, três objetivos específicos foram estipulados:1) caracterizar e verificar a relação entre variáveis limnológicas físicas, químicas e biológicas do reservatório Passo Real; 2) analisar a influência dos constituintes opticamente ativos na resposta espectral da água do reservatório e verificar o potencial de utilização das técnicas primeira derivada e remoção do contínuo para a extração de informações em espectros de reflectância e identificação de comprimentos de onda com melhor correlação com as variáveis limnológicas; e 3) avaliar o uso potencial de imagens LISS-III/Resourcesat-1 na estimativa de constituintes opticamente ativos da água do reservatório Passo Real. As variáveis cor da água, transparência, temperatura, turbidez e oxigênio dissolvido foram obtidas em campo e o total de sólidos em suspensão, total de sólidos dissolvidos, potencial Hidrogeniônico, condutividade elétrica e clorofila-a foram determinados em laboratório após coleta de amostras em campo. Nos trabalhos de campo foram coletadas as medidas do fator de reflectância da água entre os comprimentos de onda de 400 a 900 nm como uso de espectroradiômetro. As imagens de satélite utilizadas para a análise da refletância da água foram produzidas pelo satélite Resourcesat-1, sensor LISS-III. As espacializações dos dados limnológicos obtidos in situ foram realizadas por interpolação e as espacializações dos dados estimados por satélite foram obtidas por fatiamento da imagem gerada pela inserção das equações obtidas nos modelos. A forte correlação entre os dados de total de sólidos em suspensão com a turbidez e a transparência da água reforça a importância da análise integrada das variáveis óticas do ambiente aquático. A partir da análise dos espectros de reflectância foi possível inferir a atuação dos componentes opticamente ativos nas características espectrais das água. A utilização de técnicas de interpretação de espectros foi importante para extração de informações e análise dos dados. Cada técnica ressaltou melhor determinadas características espectrais. A partir do conjunto de dados disponível foi possível produzir modelos capazes de estimar o total de sólidos em suspensão, a turbidez e a transparência da água com apenas uma única banda espectral, a banda 3 do sensor LISS-III/Resourcesat-1. Com a aplicação da técnica de razão de bandas espectrais foi possível gerar um modelo para estimativa da concentração de clorofila-a.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior The area occupied by planted forests has increased significantly in the country, especially with Eucalyptus and Pinus genus. However, the means of determining of dendrometric variables the field are costly, require time and covers small areas. Thus, the orbital products applied in estimating the biophysical variables constitute an important source of data, which facilitate the process of acquiring information of the canopies, being useful, especially, in the planning in order to optimize productivity. This manner, this study aims evaluate the potential of the Landsat 8 satellite images in the differentiation of stage of growth and determining the biophysical variable of Eucalyptus grandis e Pinus elliottii. We used the 221-083 scene of Landsat 8/OLI satellite of the day 30th August 2013, being this converted to surface bidirectional reflectance from the radiometric calibration and, subsequently generated the ARVI vegetation indices, NDVI, NDVI, MVI, NDVI, SAVIL=0.25 SAVIL=0.50 and SR. The spectral behavior of the stands with different ages was established based on the reflectance of the red and near infrared bands. The reflectance of the bands and vegetation indexes was related to the forest volume, analyzing their correlation and adjustment of the data to the regression models, leading to selection of variables through Stepwise method. The Landsat 8 images are sensitive the variations of the characteristics of individuals according to the different growth stages of the forest stands, wherein for E. grandis to 4, 18 and 23 years, the increasing age caused reduction in reflectance in the NIR band and increased in the band Red. However, in stands of P. elliottii it was observed that increasing age led to an increased reflectance in the NIR band and reduction in red band. Correlation analysis between the spectral data and the forest volume of E. grandis showed that SAVIL=0.50 index showed better correlation with forest variable at both ages. The stands of P. elliottii the B5 band showed higher correlation with the volume to 9 years old, however at 10 years of age, the DVI index showed the highest correlation with the forest variable. Regression analysis for E. grandis has exposed the models of best fit, so that at 4 and 18, the equation containing the SAVI index explained 76% and 68% of the variability of the data. At 23 years, the composite model of the SAVI index and B7 band obtained R²aj of 0.67. For P. elliottii the best model to 9 years of age explained 74% of data variability, being this composed of the DVI index and B7 band. Thus, the Landsat 8 / OLI data can be used in forest planning, assisting in forest inventory, as well as knowledge of the individual phases of growth and the identification of forest species. A superfície ocupada por florestas plantadas tem aumentado significativamente no território nacional, especialmente com os gêneros Eucalyptus e Pinus. Contudo, os meios de determinação das variáveis dendrométricas a campo são onerosos, requer de tempo e abrangem pequenas áreas. Assim, os produtos orbitais aplicados na estimativa das variáveis biofísicas constituem-se de uma importante fonte de dados, os quais facilitam o processo de aquisição de informações dos dosséis, sendo útil, especialmente, no planejamento visando a otimização da produtividade. Desse modo, esse estudo tem por objetivo avaliar a potencialidade das imagens do satélite Landsat 8 na diferenciação do estágio de crescimento e determinação da variável biofísica de Eucalyptus grandis e Pinus elliottii. Utilizou-se a cena 221-083 do satélite Landsat 8/OLI do dia 30 de agosto de 2013, sendo essa convertida para reflectância bidirecional de superfície a partir da calibração radiométrica e, posteriormente gerados os índices de vegetação ARVI, DVI, GNDVI, MVI, NDVI, SAVI25, SAVI50 e SR. O comportamento espectral dos povoamentos com idades distintas foi estabelecido com base na reflectância das bandas do vermelho e infravermelho próximo. A reflectância das bandas e índices de vegetação foi relacionada com o volume florestal, analisando a sua correlação e o ajuste dos dados à modelos de regressão, conduzindo a seleção de variáveis por meio do método Stepwise. A imagem Landsat 8/OLI mostrou-se sensível às variações das características dos indivíduos em função das diferentes fases de crescimento dos povoamentos florestais, sendo que para E. grandis aos 4, 18 e 23 anos, o aumento da idade ocasionou a redução da reflectância na banda B5 e aumento na banda do vermelho. No entanto, em povoamentos de P. elliottii observou-se que o aumento da idade propiciou um aumento da reflectância na banda B5 e redução na banda do vermelho. A análise de correlação entre os dados espectrais e o volume florestal de E. grandis demonstrou que o índice SAVIL=0,50 apresentou melhor correlação com variável florestal em ambas as idades. Para povoamentos de P. elliottii a banda B5 demonstrou maior correlação com o volume aos 9 anos de idade, porém aos 10 anos de idades, o índice DVI apresentou maior correlação com a variável florestal. A análise de regressão para E. grandis expôs os modelos de melhor ajuste, de modo que aos 4 e 18 anos, a equação contendo o índice SAVI explicou 76% e 68% da variabilidade dos dados, respectivamente. Aos 23 anos, o modelo composto pelo índice SAVI e a banda B7 obteve R²aj de 0,67. Para P. elliotti o melhor modelo aos 9 anos de idade explicou 74% da variabilidade dos dados, sendo esse composto pela banda B5, já aos 10 anos o modelo englobou 73% da variabilidade, sendo esse composto pelo índice DVI e a banda B7. Desse modo, os dados Landsat 8/OLI podem ser utilizados no planejamento florestal, auxiliando em inventários florestais, bem como no conhecimento das fases de crescimento dos indivíduos e na identificação de espécies florestais.

RESUMO Modelos relacionando respostas espectrais com parâmetros biofísicos visam estimar variáveis, tais como volume de madeira, sem a necessidade de avaliações constantes em campo. Objetivou-se desenvolver modelos estimadores de volume de madeira a partir de imagens TM do Landsat 5, com base em dados de inventário florestal regional. A imagem foi georreferenciada e convertida para imagem reflectância espectral. Em seguida, foram geradas as imagens índice NDVI (índice de vegetação da diferença normalizada) e SR (razão simples). Os valores das reflectâncias das bandas (TM1, TM2, TM3 e TM4) e dos índices (NDVI e SR) foram relacionados com os volumes de madeira. As maiores correlações com volume foram com os índices NDVI e SR. A seleção de variáveis foi feita pelo método Stepwise, o qual retornou três modelos de regressão como significativos para explicar a variação em volume. Por fim, selecionou-se o modelo com melhor ajuste (volume = -830,95 + 46,05 × (SR) + 107,47 × (TM2)), o qual foi aplicado sobre a imagem Landsat onde os pixels passaram a representar o volume estimado em m³/ha nas unidades de produção de Eucalyptus sp. Este modelo, significativo ao nível de 95 % de confiança, explica 68 % da variação de volume de madeira. ABSTRACT Models relating spectral answers with biophysical parameters aim estimate variables, such as wood volume, without the necessity of frequent field measurements. The objective was to develop models to estimate wood volume by Landsat 5 TM images, supported by regional forest inventory data. The image was georeferenced and converted to spectral reflectance. After, the images-index NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and SR (Simple Ratio) was generated. The reflectance values of both spectral bands (TM1, TM2, TM3 e TM4 ) and indices (NDVI and SR) was related with the wood volume. The biggest correlation with volume was with the NDVI and SR indices. The variables selection was made by Stepwise method, which returned three regression models as significant to explain the variation in volume. Finally, the best fitted model was selected (volume = -830,95 + 46,05 × (SR) + 107,47 × (TM2)), which was applied on the Landsat image where the pixels had started to represent the estimated volume in m³/ha on the Eucalyptus sp. production units. This model, significant at 95 % confidence level, explains 68 % of the wood volume variation.

The water s reflectance related to pluviometric rate allows a characterization of natural and severe changes on the water s metabolism. Accordingly, the purpose of this research is to establish a relation between pluviometric rates and the changes on the water s reflectance values in Passo Real reservoir, localized on the north of Rio Grande do Sul. As methodology 11 MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) images from NASA s Image Catalog were used to compose one hydrological year. The rainfall data are originating from the Civilian Defense Department of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, adding up to 31 stations of pluviometric gatherings to the research. The water s transparency data (Total of Solids in Suspension) (TSS) were acquired from 31 sample points during 8 field works. The analysis has considered the accumulation of rainfall in the period of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 days before the satellite s passage. Red band (648nm) reflectance data were used in 3 compartments of the reservoir which represent the main spots of gathering: Ingaí river, Jacuí-Mirim river and Jacuí river. The limnological data, rainfall and water s reflectance were added to verify their relations. It has been verified that the year of 2009 presented distinct periods as the dry rain regimen from January to July and rainy from August to December. The reflectance rates were from 0,28 to 2,05% in the dry period while from 0,44 to 3,27% in the rainy period. The medium transparency values from the Secchi Disc (SD) were 1,2 m. However in the dry period, the transparency was 1,7m and in the rainy period 0,7 m. The TSS s minimum value was 0,5 mg/L and maximum of 31 mg/L in the dry period and from 1 to 33 mg/L in the rainy period. The lower TSS s concentrations were gathered in the month of April 1mg/L when the lower rainfall rates were registered. Nonetheless, the highest concentration was registered in October (33 mg/L) when the highest rainfall rates were registered in the water basin (224mm). It has been verified meaningful relations to the water s reflectance and to the rain preceding the sensor s passage to the rain s accumulated value during 20 preceding days to the satellite s passage was what presented the correlation of 0,88 to the reflectance of the sector of Jacuí river and 0,83 to the sector of Jacuí-Mirim river. The aquatic compartment defined by Ingaí river had the best correlation (0,78) when the accumulated of rain was of a period of 25 days. Therefore, the MODIS images register the rains in a period of 20 days before the satellite s passage. Specifically in the compartment of Ingaí river, this effect occurs in a period of 25 days. A reflectância da água relacionada aos índices pluviométricos permite a caracterização das alterações naturais e severas no metabolismo da água. Neste sentido, o presente estudo tem por objetivo estabelecer a relação entre o índice pluviométrico e as alterações nos valores de reflectância da água no reservatório da UHE Passo Real- RS, localizado no norte do Rio Grande do Sul. Quanto a metodologia foram utilizadas 11 imagens MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) (MOD09), provenientes do Catálogo de imagens da NASA, a fim de compor um ano hidrológico. Os dados de precipitação são provenientes da Defesa Civil do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, totalizando para o estudo o levantamento de 31 estações de coleta pluviométrica. Os dados de transparência da água e Total de Sólidos em Suspensão (TSS) foram obtidos a partir de 31 pontos amostrais realizados em 8 trabalhos de campo. A análise levou em conta o acúmulo de precipitação no período de 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 e 30 dias anterior à passagem do satélite. Foram utilizados os dados de reflectância da banda do vermelho (648 nm) para ralacionar com a chuva, em 3 compartimentos do reservatório, que representaram as principais áreas de captação: rio Ingaí, rio Jacuí-Mirim e rio Jacuí. Os dados limnológicos, precipitação e reflectância da água foram integrados para verificar suas relações. Verificou-se que o ano de 2009 apresentou períodos distintos quanto ao regime de chuvas, de Janeiro a Julho seco e de Agosto a Dezembro chuvoso. A reflectância apresentou a taxa de 0,28 a 2,05% no período seco enquanto no período chuvoso foi de 0,44 a 3,27%. Os valores médios de transparência do Disco de Secchi (DS) foi de 1,2 m. Entretanto no período seco a transparência foi de 1,7 m e no período chuvoso de 0,7 m. O valor mínimo de TSS foi de 0,5 mg/L e máximo de 31 mg/L no período seco e de 1 a 33 mg/L no período chuvoso. As menores concentrações de TSS foram encontradas no mês de Abril 1 mg/L quando foram registrados os menores índices de precipitação (

RESUMO Leituras de reflectância em folhas de árvores de bordadura e de interior de um povoamento florestal de Eucalyptus grandis, no município de São Pedro das Missões - RS, foram analisadas nas regiões do espectro eletromagnético visível e do infravermelho próximo, utilizando-se espectrorradiometria. A área foi dividida em duas partes: bordadura e centro do povoamento. Para a coleta de material, a copa das árvores foi dividida em três partes (superior, média e inferior), de forma a diferenciar as posições de coleta de folhas, em cada uma das áreas. Foram amostradas três árvores em cada área, totalizando seis árvores, sendo que para cada árvore foram coletadas 60 folhas isoladas, 20 em cada posição. As leituras de reflectância foram realizadas através do espectrorradiômetro FieldSpec(r)3 e os resultados finais foram segmentados nas bandas espectrais do visível e do infravermelho próximo. A análise estatística valeu-se do teste Tukey HSD, para comparação das médias da região do visível, que de acordo com a ANOVA apresentaram diferenças significativas. Conclui-se que as classes indicadas de coleta de folhas para análise espectrorradiométrica na região do visível são preferencialmente a 5 (árvore de centro, leitura na parte mediana) e a 3 (árvore de bordadura, leitura parte superior). ABSTRACT Reflectance readings in border and inner tree leaves in a Eucalyptus grandis stand, in São Pedro das Missões, Rio Grande do Sul state, were analyzed in the regions of the visible electromagnetic spectrum and the nearby infrared, by using spectrum radiometry. The area was divided in two parts: border and center stands. In order to collect the material, the crown was divided in three parts (superior, medium and inferior), so that it would be possible to differentiate the positions of leaf collections in each area. Three trees were sampled in each area, adding up to six trees, for each tree, 60 isolated leaves were collected, 20 in each position. The reflectance readings were carried out through FieldSpec(r)3 spectrum radiometer and the final results were segmented in the visible and nearby infrared spectral bands. The statistical analysis was made on the basis of several tests, among them Tukey HSD test, in order to compare the averages of the visible region, which, according to ANOVA, present significant differences. It is concluded that the collecting indicating class of leaves for the spectrum radiometric analysis in the visible region are preferably the 5 one (tree in the center, reading in the medium part) and #3 one (border tree, reading superior part).

The necessity to identify objects in the ground constituted by several types of materials became a challenge to the remote sensing researchers. This situation promoted new researches about sensors development and stimulated the improvement and the creation of new techniques and tools that assist in characterization of the targets. Following this necessity this research was developed with the objective of characterize urban targets in multispectral images, by means multivariated statistical analysis and supported by ground spectroradiometry. It was used the sensor MSS EPS A 31T, the spectroradiometer FieldSpec Pro FR and the softwares R 2.7 and ERDAS 8.7. It was realized a sensing in a continuous strip over the Federal University of Santa Maria RS in three distinct schedules, at 12:00 pm HBV and 04:00 pm HBV in 17/12/2008 and at 09:00 am HBV in 27/12/2007. The MSS sensor was operated from the R-99B, a FAB aircraft, on 31 channels mode, in the spectral interval of 0,42μm and 12,5μm and space resolution of 2,5m. parallel to the flight it was realized the reading of the radiation reflected by the targets on ground using the spectroradiometer, which operate in the continuous interval from 0,35 μm to 2,5 μm. A methodology allied with the photo interpretation is the analytic statistic, therefore with the technological evolution it became to associate the panchromatic aerial photographic with multispectrals images. The data obtained in the research were recorded and treated in their respective interfaces and converted to mains. The MSS 3 digital values were rejected from the research because of treatment incompatibility. Initially it was made the analysis of the main components, identifying the three main components (MSS sensor channels 7, 3 and 30), answering them for 99,947% and 99,948% of the originals variables variability to MSS 1 and MSS 2 respectively. From that was generated a high contrast image among the constituent materials of the proposed targets. The wavelength intervals of the three main components were retaken to mains structuring to the execution of the regression analysis. The main components were linked with the ground spectroradiometry realized readings, in their respective spectral intervals. The regression coefficients found had answered respectively for 76,99% of the MSS1 depended variables variability and 85,40% of the MSS 2. These percentages had expressed a better adjust in the second regression and in a smaller variability of the residual errors. The residual error s median to MSS 1 was - 0,2869 and to MSS 2 was 0,0851. The model validity verification was executed with the application of the variance analysis (ANOVA) that showed in F test the values: MSS 1= 66,91 e MSS 2 = 116,99. As the values of Ftab (F 5%;3;60) is equal 2,76, it is noticed that the values of Fcalc is bigger than Ftab , (Fcalc > Ftab), to both analysis. Through the obtained results it is concluded that the employed methodology is valid to characterize the proposed targets and the model contribute to distinguish among them in the MSS image analysis. A necessidade de identificar objetos no solo constituídos por diversificados tipos de materiais tornou-se um desafio aos pesquisadores na atividade de sensoriamento remoto. Esta situação alavancou novas pesquisas na área de desenvolvimento de sensores e estimulou o aprimoramento e criação de novas técnicas e ferramentas que auxiliem na caracterização dos alvos. Acompanhando esta necessidade foi desenvolvida esta pesquisa, com o objetivo de caracterizar alvos urbanos em imagens multiespectrais, por meio de estatística multivariada, apoiado em espectroradiometria de solo. Foi utilizado o Sensor MSS EPS-A 31T, o espectroradiômetro FieldSpec Pro FR e os softwares R 2.7© e ERDAS 8.7®. Foi realizado o sensoriamento em uma faixa contínua sobre a Universidade Federal de Santa Maria-RS em três horários distintos, as 12:00HBV (MSS1) e 16:00HBV (MSS2) do dia 17/12/2007 e as 09:00HBV (MSS3) do dia 27/12/2007. O sensor MSS foi operado na aeronave R-99B, no modo 31 canais no intervalo espectral entre 0,42μm a 12,5μm, com uma resolução espacial de 2,5m. Paralelo ao vôo foi efetuado a leitura da radiação refletida pelos alvos no solo com o espectroradiômetro que opera na faixa de 0,35μm a 2,5μm. Uma metodologia que se alia a fotointerpretação é a da estatística analítica, pois com a evolução tecnológica passou-se a associar fotografias aéreas pancromáticas e imagens multiespectrais. Os dados gerados na pesquisa foram transferidos e convertidos em matrizes de dados. Os valores digitais de MSS3 foram descartados do trabalho por incompatibilidade no tratamento. Inicialmente foi executada a análise de componentes principais identificando-se as três principais componentes (canais 7, 3 e 30 do sensor MSS), respondendo estas por 99,947% e 99,948% da variabilidade das variáveis originais para MSS1 e MSS2, respectivamente. A partir desta gerou-se uma imagem de alto contraste entre os materiais constituintes dos alvos propostos. Os intervalos de comprimento de onda da análise de componentes principais foram retomados para a estruturação de matrizes que permitissem uma análise de regressão. As principais componentes foram, então, relacionadas com as leituras efetuadas na espectroradiometria de solo, em seus referidos intervalos espectrais. Os coeficientes de regressão encontrados responderam respectivamente por 76,99% da variação da variável dependente em MSS1 e por 85,40% em MSS2. Estes percentuais traduziram-se em um melhor ajuste na segunda regressão e uma menor variabilidade dos erros residuais. A média dos erros residuais para MSS1 foi -0,2869, enquanto que em MSS2 foi -0,0851. A verificação da validade do modelo foi efetuada com a aplicação da análise de variância (ANOVA) que retratou no teste F os valores: MSS1= 66,91 e MSS2= 116,99. Como o valor do Ftab (F 5%;3;60) é igual a 2,76, percebe-se que o valor de Fcalc é maior que o valor do Ftab , (Fcalc > Ftab) para as duas análises. Pelos resultados alcançados conclui-se que a metodologia empregada é valida para a caracterização dos alvos propostos e o modelo contribui para a distinção entre estes na análise de imagens MSS.

This study aimed evaluating the impacts of landuse in the limnological variables and spectral reflectance of the water of three watersheds, located in the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. The areas studied were: the watershed of the Cadena Creek and Vacacaí Mirim and Ibicuí-Mirim rivers - RS (Brazil). To obtain the data of the coverage and landuse topographic charts and images CCD/CBERS 2 were used (October 2006). Images were processed using the software IDRISI 32, and the supervised classification allowed the identification and quantification of different landuse areas (Urban Area, Agriculture, pastures, fields and small size vegetation, water and Forestation). Limnological variables examined were: water transparency, total suspended solids (TSS), total dissolved solids (TDS), water and air temperature, pH and electrical conductivity (EC). It performed ten field trips that occurred on days 21, 23, 26, 28 and 30/11 and 03, 05, 07, 10 and 12/12, 2007. Measures were taken with the radiometric spectroradiometer FieldSpec3 (spectral range of 350 to 2500nm and spectral resolution ranging from 3 to 10nm), the collections were performed on days 11/30/2007 and 12/07/2007. Identification of the landuse allowed the evaluation of the variables behavior for each limnological watershed. Concentrations of TDS and TSS were lower in the river Ibicuí- Mirim SB, due to the increased presence of vegetation on its banks, which also influenced their reflectance (low albedo). In Cadena Creek the highest values of TDS were found and the river Vacacaí-Mirim the TSS was the highest. The EC assumed high values in the river Vacacaí-Mirim (207 to 397 μScm-1), and in Cadena Creek (459 to 563 μScm-1), due to the proximity to urban areas, mainly the creek for about 63% of their urban area. The pH variations occurred among the three watersheds, between 6.0 and 7.0. Due to the high concentration of organic matter on the Vacacaí-Mirim is river surface, it presented a range of green wavelength (between 500nm and 600nm) most expressive reflectance values than the watershed of Cadena Creek and Ibicuí-Mirim River. The integrated analysis of the results showed how the metabolism and its aquatic reflectance are influenced by the way of the landuse in each type of watershed, being the rural area the most affected on the TSS and the urban reflectance on the TDS. A pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar os impactos do uso da terra nas variáveis limnológicas e reflectância espectral dos corpos d água de três sub-bacias, localizadas na região central do Rio Grande do Sul. As áreas trabalhadas foram: as sub-bacias do arroio Cadena e dos rios Vacacaí-Mirim e Ibicuí-Mirim RS (Brasil). Para o levantamento do uso e cobertura da terra foram utilizadas cartas topográficas e imagens CCD/CBERS 2 (outubro de 2006). As imagens foram processadas com o uso do software IDRISI 32, por classificação supervisionada que permitiu a identificação e quantificação das diferentes áreas de uso da terra (Área Urbana, Agricultura, Pastagens, Campos e Vegetação de pequeno porte, Corpos d água e Florestamento). As variáveis limnológicas analisadas foram: transparência da água, total de sólidos em suspensão (TSS), total de sólidos dissolvidos (TDS), temperatura da água e do ar, pH e condutividade elétrica (CE). Foram realizadas dez campanhas de campo que ocorreram nos dias 21, 23, 26, 28 e 30/11 e 03, 05, 07, 10 e 12/12 de 2007. As medidas radiométricas foram realizadas com o espectrorradiômetro FieldSpec3 (intervalo espectral de 350 a 2500nm e resolução espectral variando de 3 a 10nm), as coletas foram executadas nos dias 30/11/2007 e 07/12/2007. A identificação das formas de uso da terra permitiu avaliar o comportamento das variáveis limnológicas para cada sub-bacia. As concentrações de TSS e TDS foram menores na SB do rio Ibicuí-Mirim, em decorrência da maior presença de vegetação em suas margens, o que influenciou também em sua reflectância (baixo albedo). Já no arroio Cadena foram encontrados os maiores valores de TDS, e no rio Vacacaí-Mirim o TSS foi o mais elevado. A CE assumiu valores elevados no rio Vacacaí-Mirim (207 a 397μScm-1) e no arroio Cadena (459 a 563μScm-1), por possuírem uma elevada quantidade de sais dissolvidos, devido a proximidade com a área urbana, principalmente o arroio Cadena por ter cerca de 63% de sua área urbanizada. Quanto aos valores de pH, ocorrem variações entre as três sub-bacias, ficando entre 6,0 e 7,0. Devido à elevada concentração de matéria orgânica na superfície do rio Vacacaí-Mirim, este apresentou na faixa de comprimento de onda do verde (entre 500nm e 600nm) valores mais expressivos de reflectância que as sub-bacias do arroio Cadena e do rio Ibicuí-Mirim. A análise integrada dos resultados permitiu constatar como o metabolismo aquático e sua reflectância são influenciados pela forma de uso da terra em cada tipo de sub-bacia analisada, sendo a rural mais afetada quanto ao TSS e a reflectância e a urbana no TDS.
