The article presents information on the artwork by the author. The author says that she has primarily experimented with weaving plant fibers. She uses paper strips made from Xuan paper covered with Chinese calligraphy, which she rolls to form a paper rope. Then she weaves strips and ropes of paper and use them to cover articles of daily use, such as Chinese bamboo bats, lanterns, and baskets. According to her and her fellow compatriots, these are more than just materials, they represent an integral part of life experience and, as such, form part of their collective imagination, which informs creative practice.
