In this paper, the influence of hydroxyl-functionalised acrylic nanogels incorporated into solvent-borne and water-borne acrylic binder system on the properties of coating films is described. Our approach has been to show the usefulness of prepared reactive nanogels as network precursors. As found out, the application of nanogels did not affect the surface appearance and the transparency of solvent-borne thermosetting coatings. Moreover, the presence of nanogel network precursors accelerated the cure at ambient temperature, thus improving the final hardness of coatings.

The presented work aims at the comparison of physical and mechanical properties of commercially available black polyurethane adhesives designed for the glass bonding in automotive industry and at the assessment of adhesive systems with a primer. These adhesives require application and drying out of the appropriate polymer or a primer-free adhesive layer before bonding. UV stability is additionally measured in a view of the changing colours and mechanical properties.

The effect of glycidyl-functionalised acrylic microgels incorporated into a commercial waterborne dispersion of epoxy resin and a solvent-free low molecular weight epoxy resin, respectively, on mechanical properties of cured materials is described in this paper. The objective of this study was to show the usefulness of prepared reactive microgels as toughness modifiers. It has been found that the incorporation of microgel particles influenced positively both the toughness performance and the other mechanical properties of tested epoxies without affecting significantly their thermal properties.
