Textile and clothing industry are two from the industries, which are affected by globalization processes extremely. In terms of historical development, these industries of the sectors of light industry belong to the major pillars of the Czech economy. The article focuses on assessing the impact of globalization on the economic security of the textile and clothing industry of the Czech Republic and the economic security of the regions where enterprises of mentioned industries operate, namely in the period of globalization. It shows that economic security of industry has absolute and relative dimensions, which are reflected on economic security of regions subsequently. To assess of the economic security are selected performance indicators (sales) and employment, the attention is paid to the period 1975-2012, with particular emphasis on the period 1995-2005.

Textilní a oděvní průmysl je jedním z těch odvětví, které jsou globalizačními procesy extrémně ovlivněny. Z hlediska historického vývoje patřila tato odvětví lehkého průmyslu k významným pilířům české ekonomiky. Článek se zaměřuje na posouzení vlivu globalizace na ekonomickou bezpečnost odvětví textilního a oděvního průmyslu České republiky a na ekonomickou bezpečnost regionů, kde operují podniky uvedeného odvětví, právě v období globalizace. Pro posouzení ekonomické bezpečnosti jsou zvoleny ukazatele výkonnosti (tržby) a zaměstnanosti, přitom je věnována pozornost období 1975-2012, se zvláštním akcentem na období 1995-2005. Ukazuje se, že ekonomická bezpečnost odvětví má absolutní a relativní dimenzi, což se následně projevuje i na ekonomické bezpečnosti regionů., Textile and clothing industry are two from the industries, which are affected by globalization processes extremely. Tato diplomová práce s názvem Český textilní a oděvní průmysl v období globalizace má za cíl analýzu vývoje textilního a oděvního průmyslu v České republice zhruba od roku 1970 do současnosti. Diplomová práce se zabývá charakteristikou odvětví textilního a oděvního průmyslu a jejich klasifikací podle Českého statistického úřadu a také mezinárodními dohodami, které významně ovlivnily textilní a oděvní průmysl. Dále je v této diplomové práci popsán vývoj textilního a oděvního průmyslu na území České republiky a shrnuty dopady globalizace na český textilní a oděvní průmysl. Na tato odvětví byl následně aplikovaný Porterův model pěti sil. Závěr práce je zaměřen na finanční diagnostiku Oděvního podniku, a. s. pomocí bankrotních a bonitních modelů., This diploma thesis called The Czech textile and clothing industry in globalization has got the aim to analyse development of textile and clothing industry in the Czech Republic since 1970 to nowadays. The diploma thesis deals with characteristic of textile and clothing industry and their classification according to Český statistický úřad and it also deals with international agreements which significantly influenced the textile and clothing industry. There is also mentioned development of textile and clothing industry in the Czech Republic and there is also summed up impact of globalization on the Czech textile and clothing industry. Aftewards, Porter´s five forces model was applied to this branch. The end of the thesis focuses on the financial diagnostics of Oděvní podnik, a. s. through solvent and bankruptcy models., Ústav podnikové ekonomiky a managementu, Studentka seznámila komisi s obsahem a cílem své diplomové práce. Cílem práce bylo povést analýzu vývoje postavení českého textilního a oděvního průmyslu v kontextu světového vývoje těchto odvětví v období globalizace a na jejím základě verifikovat hypotézy, týkající se jednak postavení obou odvětví v české ekonomice, jednak možností predikce vývoje u konkrétního podniku oděvního průmyslu. Studentka seznámila komisi se závěry práce a odpověděla na otázky položené vedoucím práce a oponentem práce: 1. V práci dokumentujete dopady v oblasti relevantního zahraničního obchodu mimo jiné na EU jako celek. Lze dokumentovat dopad těchto momentů na český dovoz textilní a oděvní produkce z konkrétně z Číny? 2. Měl na situaci v tex. odvětvím průmyslu mimo konkurence z asijských zemí, tak způsob privatizace? 3. Jak byste hodnotila současný stav textilního a oděvního průmyslu ? je stabilní nebo bude se dále zhoršovat a proč?
