The article profiles Oliver Sacks, author of "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat." He struggled with writer's block and would spend hours every day swimming in Long Island Sound in New York. His first book was "Migraine" in 1971, followed by "Awakenings." He lives in an apartment in one building and Greenwich Village and works in a second building next door. He will turn 80 years old in July 2013 and is blind in one eye.
