Inorganic perovskite CsPbI2 Br has advantages of excellent thermal stability and reasonable bandgap, which make it suitable for top layer of tandem solar cells. Nevertheless, solution-processed all-inorganic perovskites generally suffer from high-density defects as well as significant tensile strain near underlayer/perovskite interface, both leading to compromised device efficiency and stability. In this work, the defect density as well as interfacial tensile strain in inverted CsPbI2 Br perovskite solar cells (PeSCs) is remarkably reduced by using a bilayer underlayer composed of dopant-free 2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(N,N-dip-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD) and copper phthalocyanine 3,4',4″,4'″-tetrasulfonated acid tetrasodium salt (TS-CuPc) nanoparticles. As compared to control devices with pristine Spiro-OMeTAD, devices based on Spiro-OMeTAD/TS-CuPc exhibit remarkably improved photovoltaic performance and enhanced thermal/humidity stability due to the better perovskite crystallization, improved interfacial passivation, and hole-collection as well as efficient interfacial strain release. As a result, a champion efficiency of 14.85% can be achieved, which is approaching to the best reported for dopant-free and inverted all-inorganic PeSCs. The work thus provides an efficient strategy to simultaneously regulate the defects density and strain issue related to inorganic perovskites.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) based on group 3 and 4 metals are considered as the most promising MOFs for varying practical applications including water adsorption, carbon conversion, and biomedical applications. The relatively strong coordination bonds and versatile coordination modes within these MOFs endow the framework with high chemical stability, diverse structures and topologies, and interesting properties and functions. Herein, the significant progress made on this series of MOFs since 2018 is summarized and an update on the current status and future trends on the structural design of robust MOFs with high connectivity is provided. Cluster chemistry involving Y, lanthanides (Ln, from La to Lu), actinides (An, from Ac to Lr), Ti, and Zr is initially introduced. This is followed by a review of recently developed MOFs based on group 3 and 4 metals with their structures discussed based on the types of inorganic or organic building blocks. The novel properties and arising applications of these MOFs in catalysis, adsorption and separation, delivery, and sensing are highlighted. Overall, this review is expected to provide a timely summary on MOFs based on group 3 and 4 metals, which shall guide the future discovery and development of stable and functional MOFs for practical applications.

Self-assembled microtubes of mixed charge-transfer (CT) complexes comprising TCNB and naphthalene can be constructed with pyrene as dopant by an etching-assisted CT-induced interaction. Highly efficient Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) from the excited naphthalene-TCNB to pyrene-TCNB molecules is obtained in mixed CT complex microtubes. White-light emissive CT complex microtubes can be formed by adjusting the dopant concentration and serve as an active optical waveguide.

A new kind of blend film was made by mixing the solutions of collagen, konjac glucommnnan (KGM), and sodium alginate. The structure of the blend film was characterized by FTIR, XRD, atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and SEM, respectively. The effects of weight ratio between the polymers on light transmittance, tensile strength, elongation at break, water permeability, and water absorption of the film were studied. The results showed that there were strong interactions and good compatibility between collagen, KGM, and sodium alginate in the film. The film possesses good mechanical properties. Therefore, it can be applied in biomedicine as a new type of biomaterial. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 2007
