Content addressable memory (CAM) is widely used in associative search tasks due to its parallel pattern matching capability. As more complex and data‐intensive tasks emerge, it is becoming increasingly important to enhance CAM density for improved performance and better area efficiency. To reduce the area overheads, various nonvolatile memory (NVM) devices, such as ferroelectric field‐effect transistors (FeFETs), are used in CAM design. Herein, a novel ultracompact 1FeFET CAM design that enables parallel associative search and in‐memory hamming distance calculation is used, as well as a multibit CAM for exact search using the same CAM cell. The proposed CAM design leverages the 1FeFET1R structure, and compact device designs that integrate the series resistor current limiter into the intrinsic FeFET structure are demonstrated to turn the 1FeFET1R structure into an effective 1FeFET cell. A two‐step search operation of the proposed binary and multibit 1FeFET CAM array through both experiments and simulations is proposed, showing a sufficient sensing margin despite unoptimized FeFET device variation. In genome pattern matching applications, using the hyperdimensional computing paradigm, the design results in a 89.9× speedup and 66.5× improvement in energy efficiency over the state‐of‐the‐art alignment tools on GPU.

Abstract BN‐heteroarenes, which employ both boron and nitrogen in aromatic hydrocarbons, have gained great attention in the fields of organic chemistry and materials science. Nevertheless, the extensive studies on BN‐heteroarenes are largely limited to 1,2‐azaborine‐based compounds with B–N covalent bonds, whereas 1,3‐ and 1,4‐BN‐heteroarenes are relatively rare due to their greater challenge in the synthesis. Recently, significant progresses have been achieved in the synthesis and applications of BN‐heteroarenes featuring 1,4‐azaborines, especially driven by their significant potential as multiresonant thermally activated delayed fluorescence (MR‐TADF) materials. Therefore, it is timely to review these advances from the chemistry perspective. This review summarizes the synthetic methods and recent achievements of 1,4‐azaborine‐based BN‐heteroarenes and discusses their unique properties and potential applications of this emerging class of materials, highlighting the value of 1,4‐BN‐heteroarenes beyond MR‐TADF materials. It is hoped that this review would stimulate the conversation and cooperation between chemists who are interested in azaborine chemistry and materials scientists working in the fields of organic optoelectronics, metal catalysis, and carbon‐based nanoscience etc.

Background: A wave of the Omicron variant of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection has rapidly spread in Shanghai, China. Hematological abnormalities have been reported in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients; however, the difference in hematological parameters between COVID-19 patients with fever and patients who are febrile from other causes remains unexplored., Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled 663 SARS-CoV-2 positive patients identified by RT-PCR. Clinical parameters, including age, sex, and threshold cycle values of all COVID-19 patients, and hematological parameters of COVID-19 patients in the fever clinic were abstracted for analysis., Results: Overall, 60.8% of COVID-19 patients were male, and the median age was 45 years. Most of COVID-19 patients were asymptomatic, while 25.8% of patients showed fever and 10.9% of patients had other emergencies. COVID-19 patients with fever had significantly lower white blood cells (WBCs), neutrophils, lymphocytes, platelets and C-reactive protein (CRP), and significantly higher monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV), and mean platelet volume-to-platelet ratio (MPR) levels, compared with those in SARS-CoV-2 negative patients with fever from other causes (p < 0.05). Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), PLR, and systemic inflammatory index (SII) levels were significantly higher in COVID-19 patients with emergencies (p < 0.05). WBCs showed the best performance with an area under the curve (0.756), followed by neutrophils (0.730) and lymphocytes (0.694) in the diagnosis of COVID-19 in the fever clinic., Conclusion: WBCs, neutrophils, lymphocytes, platelets, CRP and MLR, PLR, and MPR may be useful in early diagnosis of COVID-19 in the fever clinic., (© 2022 The Authors. A simple, rapid, and selective ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for determination of l-carnitine (LC) and acetyl-l-carnitine (ALC) in human serum was developed. Acetyl-l-carnitine-d 3 (ALC-d 3 ) was selected as internal standard (IS). After protein precipitation with acetonitrile-water (1 mL, 2:1, v/v), the analytes and IS were separated on a 2.5-μm XSelect HSS T3 C 18 column by gradient elution with methanol-water (containing 0.01% ammonia water) as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 0.2 mL/min. Analytes were detected with multiple reaction monitoring using a positive scan mode with electrospray ionization. Good linearity (R 2  > 0.999) was observed in the concentration range for LC and ALC. The inter- and intra-day values of relative error were -10.4% to 10.0% with CVs less than 9.84%. The average recoveries of the two analytes were 91.29%-98.23%. Blood samples containing LC and ALC were stable under various storage conditions. Normal, haemolytic, and hyperlipidaemic serum had no significant effect on the quantification of LC and ALC.
