Abstract Deep coal‐rock formations are subjected to complex stress environments characterized by high static stresses and dynamic disturbances. To study the damage, fracture, and energy evolution characteristics of coal‐rock under dynamic–static combined loading, a new multiscale constitutive model for coal‐rock under dynamic–static combined loading is proposed based on micromechanics, and it is implemented into the LS‐DYNA solver. A numerical model of coal‐rock Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar under dynamic–static combined loading is established using LS‐DYNA, and research on the mechanical and energy evolution characteristics of coal‐rock under one‐dimensional and three‐dimensional dynamic–static combined loading is conducted. The results show that under one‐dimensional dynamic–static combined loading, with the increase of precompression, the dynamic peak stress linearly decreases while the combined peak stress linearly increases, and the dissipated energy of the specimen shows a decreasing trend. The fracture patterns of the coal‐rock specimen include internal shear fracture and external tensile fracture, and eventually, these two modes of fracture intersect to form macroscopic mesh cracks. As the axial pressure increases, the degree of specimen fragmentation gradually increases. Under three‐dimensional dynamic–static combined loading, with the increase of preconfining pressure, the stress–strain curve of the specimen will transition from “stress drop” to “stress rebound” after the peak. The peak stress increases with the increase of confining pressure, and the energy dissipation density of the specimen increases first and then decreases with the increase of confining pressure. With the increase of confining pressure, the hoop deformation of the specimen plays a constraining role, and the degree of specimen fracture gradually weakens, and the time of fracture occurrence gradually delays. The research results contribute to revealing the mechanical and energy mechanisms of rockburst disasters in deep coal mines.

Objectives It is now understood that pedicle screw loosening at the implant‐bone interface can lead to poor screw–bone interface purchase and decreased fixation stability. Previous biomechanical tests used cadaveric vertebrae and pull‐out or torque loads to assess the effect of the insertional direction of pedicle screws on screw loosening. However, these tests faced challenges in matching biomechanical differences among specimens and simulating in vivo loads applied on pedicle screws. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the insertional direction of pedicle screws on screw loosening using tension‐compression‐bending loads and synthetic bone vertebrae. Methods Polyaxial pedicle screws were inserted into nine synthetic bone vertebrae in three directions (three samples per group): cranial, parallel, and caudad (−10°, 0°, +10° of the pedicle screw rod to the upper plane of the vertebra, respectively). Pedicle screws in the vertebrae were loaded using a polyethylene block connected to a material testing machine. Tension‐compression‐bending loads (100N–250N) with 30,000 cycles were applied to the pedicle screws, and displacements were recorded and then cycle‐displacement curve was drawn based on cycle number. Micro‐CT scans were performed on the vertebrae after removing the pedicle screws to obtain images of the screw hole, and the screw hole volume was measured using imaging analysis software. Direct comparison of displacements was conducted via cycle‐displacement curve. Screw hole volume was analyzed using analysis of variance. The correlation between the displacement, screw hole volume and the direction of pedicle screw was assessed by Spearman correlation analysis. Abstract Bolt looseness may occur on wind turbine (WT) blades exposed to operational and environmental variability conditions, which sometimes can cause catastrophic consequences. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor the loosening state of WT blade root bolts. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a method to monitor the looseness of blade root bolts using the sensors installed on the WT blade. An experimental platform was first built by installing acceleration and strain sensors for monitoring bolt looseness. Through the physical experiment of blade root bolts' looseness, the response data of blade sensors is then obtained under different bolt looseness numbers and degrees. Afterwards, the sensor signal of the blade root bolts is analyzed in time domain, frequency domain, and time‐frequency domain, and the sensitivity features of various signals are extracted. So the eigenvalue category as the input of the state discrimination model was determined. The LightGBM (light gradient boosting machine) classification algorithm was applied to identify different bolt looseness states for the multi‐domain features. The impact of different combinations of sensor categories and quantities as the data source on the identification results is discussed, and a reference for the selection of sensors is provided. The proposed method can discriminate four bolt states at an accuracy of around 99.8% using 5‐fold cross‐validation.

Abstract Harvesting indoor light to power electronic devices for the Internet of Things has become an application scenario for emerging photovoltaics, especially utilizing organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Combined liquid‐ and solid‐state processing, such as printing and lamination used in industry for developing indoor OPVs, also provides a new opportunity to investigate the device structure, which is otherwise hardly possible based on the conventional approach due to solvent orthogonality. This study investigates the impact of fullerene‐based acceptor interlayer on the performance of conjugated polymer–fullerene‐based laminated OPVs for indoor applications. We observe open‐circuit voltage (VOC) loss across the interface despite this arrangement being presumed to be ideal for optimal device performance. Incorporating insulating organic components such as polyethyleneimine (PEI) or polystyrene (PS) into fullerene interlayers decreases the work function of the cathode, leading to better energy level alignment with the active layer (AL) and reducing the VOC loss across the interface. Neutron reflectivity studies further uncover two different mechanisms behind the VOC increase upon the incorporation of these insulating organic components. The self‐organized PEI layer could hinder the transfer of holes from the AL to the acceptor interlayer, while the gradient distribution of the PS‐incorporated fullerene interlayer eliminates the thermalization losses. This work highlights the importance of structural dynamics near the extraction interfaces in OPVs and provides experimental demonstrations of interface investigation between solution‐processed cathodic fullerene layer and bulk heterojunction AL.

Abstract The authors investigate new Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) Routing Problem with Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery with Mixed Time Windows (VRPSPDMTW) in smart workshops, a variation of the classic Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP). A mixed time window vehicle routing model was developed for simultaneous deliveries. This model reduces the cost of AGVs used and distribution cost, along with time window penalties. To address this complex challenge, a Hybrid Adaptive Genetic Algorithm using Variable Neighbourhood Search (AGA‐VNS) is proposed. This algorithm enhances the genetic algorithm's local search capabilities while preserving solution diversity, thereby improving both efficiency and quality of solutions. Comprehensive computational experiments are conducted, which include both VRPSPDTW test benchmark and real‐world smart factory instance studies. The outcomes reveal that the AGA‐VNS algorithm outperforms both professional solver software and advanced heuristic methods significantly. Moreover, the newly developed mixed time window model is more aligned with the requirements of real‐world production processes compared to the traditional time window model. Thus, this research not only presents novel insights into the domain of vehicle routing problems but also demonstrates its significant applicability and potential in the background of intelligent workshops.

Abstract The integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier is crucial for protecting the intestinal epithelium against invasion by commensal bacteria and pathogens, thereby combating colitis. The investigation revealed that the absence of TSP50 compromised the integrity of the intestinal mucosal barrier in murine subjects. This disruption facilitated direct contact between intestinal bacteria and the intestinal epithelium, thereby increasing susceptibility to colitis. Mechanistic analysis indicated that TSP50 deficiency in intestinal stem cells (ISCs) triggered aberrant activation of the TGF‐β signaling pathway and impeded the differentiation of goblet cells in mice, leading to impairment of mucosal permeability. By inhibiting the TGF‐β pathway, the functionality of the intestinal mucosal barrier is successfully restored and mitigated colitis in TSP50‐deficient mice. In conclusion, TSP50 played a crucial role in maintaining the intestinal mucosal barrier function and exhibited the preventive effect against the development of colitis by regulating the TGF‐β signaling pathway.

Abstract The quantum mechanisms how life efficiently utilizes energy and transmits information remain unclear yet. Frequency medicine, an emerging cross‐discipline of both quantum mechanics and biomedicine, is a promising turning point for biomaterials and medicine developing from the matter level to the energy level. Recognizing the pivotal role of molecular vibrational frequencies in resonant energy coupling and transmission underscores the potential of frequency medicine to precisely regulate biomaterial vibrations, influencing interactions and reactions in living organisms. At present, scientists have unveiled sophisticated phototherapeutics; nevertheless, their advancement necessitates the precise mapping of the life energy. In contrast to genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studied on the matter level, omics of frequencies related to medicine should be on the energy level. Herein, starting from the history of frequency medicine, and followed by the introduction of vibrational strong coupling applications in life sciences, we emphasize the significance, necessity, and urgency of studying spatiotemporal omics of medicine frequencies. By decoding the energy atlas of life, we can acquire profound insights into the quantum mechanisms that govern life processes from an energy standpoint. We anticipate that the integration of biomaterials with spatiotemporal frequency omics related to medical research will contribute significantly to advancing the goals of precision medicine, potentially revolutionizing pharmaceuticals, such as terahertz drugs.

Abstract High‐quality, gridded maps of crop yield, which discern the spatial variability in productivity across individual farm fields, are extremely valuable in numerous agricultural and remote sensing applications. The availability of these data was greatly facilitated by the development and adoption of grain yield monitors starting in the early 1990s. However, the utility of raw yield monitor data is limited if additional processing has not been carried out to ensure data quality. In addition, a readily accessible data repository that allows for examining long‐term yield variability in response to climate and management is often not available. We present a protocol for producing a multi‐year (7 years currently processed), gridded yield data archive derived from yield monitor data acquired from over 40 production fields at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) in Beltsville, MD. Production of the archive involved the projection of the yield monitor data into a geographic coordinate system suitable for mapping, the identification and removal of data outliers, and the production of gridded, spatially interpolated yield maps using block Kriging. All map products were produced in common, nonproprietary file formats for easy access. Preliminary assessments of the processed yield monitor data have underscored the necessity of data filtering and have shown the influence of previous land use practices and biophysical properties, such as topography and soil moisture availability, on yield response. We discuss the use of spatially interpolated, archival yield maps in the implementation of precision farming techniques such as the development of site‐specific variable rate prescriptions as well as remote sensing applications, including the selection of field sites for long‐term agricultural experiments and the assessment of crop modeling approaches. The gridded yield data archive will be housed at the National Agricultural Library as a dynamic dataset that will continue to expand in breadth and depth. It will be a part of and provide support to internal USDA yield monitoring investigations as well as complementary external efforts. All geospatial data delivered to NAL will adhere to the ISO 19115 Geospatial Metadata Standards to provide the user with a full understanding of the yield monitor and associated datasets.

Abstract Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a malignant tumor originating from the pleura, and its incidence has been increasing in recent years. Due to the insidious onset and strong local invasiveness of MPM, most patients are diagnosed in the late stage and early screening and treatment for high‐risk populations are crucial. The treatment of MPM mainly includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Immunotherapy and electric field therapy have also been applied, leading to further improvements in patient survival. The Mesothelioma Group of the Yangtze River Delta Lung Cancer Cooperation Group (East China LUng caNcer Group, ECLUNG; Youth Committee) developed a national consensus on the clinical diagnosis and treatment of MPM based on existing clinical research evidence and the opinions of national experts. This consensus aims to promote the homogenization and standardization of MPM diagnosis and treatment in China, covering epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‐up.

Abstract Over the past few decades, there has been a significant interest in the study of essential genes, which are crucial for the survival of an organism under specific environmental conditions and thus have practical applications in the fields of synthetic biology and medicine. An increasing amount of experimental data on essential genes has been obtained with the continuous development of technological methods. Meanwhile, various computational prediction methods, related databases and web servers have emerged accordingly. To facilitate the study of essential genes, we have established a database of essential genes (DEG), which has become popular with continuous updates to facilitate essential gene feature analysis and prediction, drug and vaccine development, as well as artificial genome design and construction. In this article, we summarized the studies of essential genes, overviewed the relevant databases, and discussed their practical applications. Furthermore, we provided an overview of the main applications of DEG and conducted comprehensive analyses based on its latest version. However, it should be noted that the essential gene is a dynamic concept instead of a binary one, which presents both opportunities and challenges for their future development.

The 3D morphology of the joint surface significantly influences the shear behavior of the jointrock. Constant normal load (CNL) direct shear tests with different shear displacement were conducted to understand the shear stress changing with joint roughness and damage degree during shear. The rough joint specimens were prepared using 3D scanning and printing techniques, and shear tests with different normal stresses and shear displacements were performed. Four different parameters and the damaged area quantitatively described by the image binarization and box dimension were calculated and compared to study the roughness evolution of joint surfaces. The experimental results demonstrated that the roughness parameter and shear stress decrease and approach constant values with increasing shear displacement. A JRC degradation model was presented based on regression analyses to evaluate the JRC values of rock joints under various displacements to replace it in the JRC–JCS model. Additionally, a new postshear behavior modeling was proposed for rock joints based on surface degradation characteristics under various initial joint roughness coefficients (JRC0) and normal stress. The stress–displacement curves resulting from the proposed modified model work well in predicting the postpeak stress–displacement curve, which can prove the effectiveness of the postpeak shear behavior modeling.

Using Nafion212 membrane and TEOS solution as raw materials, Nafion212/SiO2 composite membranes were prepared. In the in situ sol-gel reaction process, a series of Nafion/SiO2 composite membranes were prepared by varying the reaction temperature and reaction time. The effects of different modification schemes on Nafion/SiO2 composite membranes were studied using SEM, EDS, TEM, TGA, XRD, and mechanical tensile experiments, among other methods. The results show that Nafion/SiO2 composite membranes prepared at 3°C exhibit a well-separated phase structure and excellent water retention properties, with a water uptake of 29.23% and a swelling ratio of 24.25%. These membranes also demonstrate outstanding physical and chemical performance, with a maximum tensile stress of 13.6 MPa and an elongation at a break of 270%. At 110°C, the proton conductivity of the Nafion/SiO2 composite membrane reaches 0.172 S/cm, meeting the requirements for high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells.

Abstract Objective The co‐morbidity of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP)/autoimmune nodopathies with nephropathy has been gradually known in recent years. This study was intended to explore the clinical, serological and neuropathological features of seven patients with CIDP/autoimmune nodopathies and nephropathy. Methods Among 83 CIDP patients, seven were identified with nephropathy. Their clinical, electrophysiological and laboratory examination data were collected. The nodal/paranodal antibodies were tested. The sural biopsies were performed in all the patients, and renal biopsies were operated in 6 patients. Results Six patients had chronic onsets and one had an acute onset. Four patients exhibited peripheral neuropathy preceding nephropathy while two showed concurrent onset of neuropathy and nephropathy, and one started with nephropathy. All the patients showed demyelination in electrophysiological examination. Nerve biopsies showed mild to moderate mixed neuropathies including demyelinating and axonal changes in all patients. Renal biopsies showed membranous nephropathy in all 6 patients. Immunotherapy was effective in all patients, with two patients showing good response to corticosteroid treatment alone. Four of the patients were positive to anti‐CNTN1 antibody. Compared with anti‐CNTN1 antibody‐negative patients, antibody‐positive patients had a higher proportion of ataxia (3/4 vs. 1/3), autonomic dysfunction (3/4 vs. 1/3), less frequent antecedent infections (1/4 vs. 2/3), higher cerebrospinal fluid proteins (3.2 g/L vs. 1.69 g/L), more frequent conduction block on electrophysiological examination (3/4 vs. 1/3), higher myelinated nerve fiber density, and positive CNTN1 expression in the glomeruli of kidney tissues. Conclusion Anti‐CNTN1 antibody was the most frequent antibody in this group of patients with CIDP/autoimmune nodopathies and nephropathy. Our study suggested that there might be some clinical and pathological differences between the antibody positive and negative patients.

Abstract Background Debates exist on the treatment decision of the stage II/III colorectal cancer (CRC) due to the insufficiency of the current TNM stage‐based risk stratification system. Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor microenvironment (TME) have both been linked to CRC progression in recent studies. We propose to improve the prognosis prediction of CRC by integrating TME and EMT. Methods In total, 2382 CRC patients from seven datasets and one in‐house cohort were collected, and 1640 stage II/III CRC patients with complete survival information and gene expression profiles were retained and divided into a training cohort and three independent validation cohorts. Integrated analysis of 398 immune, stroma, and epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (ISE)‐related genes identified an ISE signature independently associated with the recurrence of CRC. The underlying biological mechanism of the ISE signature and its influence on adjuvant chemotherapy was further explored. Abstract With an increasing frequency of natural disasters and security attacks, the safe and stable operation of smart grid has been challenged unprecedently. To reduce the economic loss and social impact caused by power outage accidents, it is urgent to develop and improve the smart grid technology, and strengthen the disaster resistance and recovery capability of smart grids when faced with extreme events. As an efficient and flexible secondary energy source, hydrogen is crucial in improving the resilience of smart grid and supporting energy security. To further promote the deep integration of hydrogen systems and smart grid and improve the energy system resilience, the resilience of smart grids supported by hydrogen is assessed in this study. First, a technical framework of hydrogen‐powered smart grid resilience is established, and the value of hydrogen‐powered smart grid resilience is analysed considering different time frames (before, during and after an extreme event) of smart grids facing extreme events. Then, hydrogen‐powered smart grid resilience is investigated from perspectives of pre‐prevention regulation, in‐process correction regulation, and post‐recovery regulation. Finally, future direction for hydrogen‐powered smart grid resilience is investigated and related policy suggestions are provided.

Abstract Thymic epithelial tumors (TETs) are a relatively rare type of thoracic tumor, accounting for less than 1% of all tumors. The incidence of TETs is about 3.93/10000 in China, slightly higher than that of European and American countries. For resectable TETs, complete surgical resection is recommended. Radiotherapy or chemotherapy may be used as postoperative adjuvant treatment. Treatment for advanced, unresectable TETs consist mainly of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but there is a lack of standard first‐ and second‐line treatment regimens. Recently, targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors have shown promising outcomes in TETs. Based on the currently available clinical evidences and the opinions of the national experts, the Thymic Oncology Group of Yangtze River Delta Lung Cancer Cooperation Group (East China LUng caNcer Group, ECLUNG; Youth Committee) established this Chinese expert consensus on the clinical diagnosis and treatment of TETs, covering the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and follow‐up of TETs.

Abstract Supply‐demand coordination optimization of hydrogen‐based multi‐energy system provides an effective way to improve the overall energy utilization efficiency and mitigate the challenges of energy and environmental crisis for industrial park. However, the uncertainties of energy supply and demand and the time coupling caused by storage system bring great challenges for energy efficiency and feasibility of strategy. To address the supply‐demand coordination problem, a scenario‐based operation optimization model of hydrogen‐based multi‐energy system is formulated. In this model, grey hydrogen, green hydrogen, and renewable energy are coordinated. Furthermore, in order to formulate the hard constraints of the gas storage, the robust constraints with adjustable robust parameters are added to make a trade‐off between feasibility and economy of operation strategy. The robust constraints are non‐linear, time‐coupled, dynamic and infinite dimensional and bring high computational complexity. Thus, the analytical solutions of the worst case are developed under the polyhedral budget constraints to transform the model into a mixed integer linear programming which can be efficiently solved. Finally, numerical test based on a real case is analysed and the results show that supply‐demand coordination can reduce the energy cost about 11.29% and energy storage system can significantly improve the flexibility of system.

Abstract Novel haptics technologies are urgently needed to bridge the gap between entirely physical world and fully digital environment to render a more realistic and immersive human–computer interaction. Current virtual reality (VR) haptic gloves either deliver limited haptic feedback or are bulky and heavy. The authors develop a haptic glove or HaptGlove, an untethered and lightweight pneumatic glove, that allows users to “physically” interact in a VR environment and enables both kinesthetic and cutaneous sensations naturally and realistically. Integrated with five pairs of haptic feedback modules and fiber sensors, HaptGlove provides variable stiffness force feedback and fingertip force and vibration feedback, allowing users to touch, press, grasp, squeeze, and pull various virtual objects and feel the dynamic haptic changes. Significant improvements in VR realism and immersion are observed in a user study with participants achieving 78.9% accuracy in sorting six virtual balls of different stiffnesses. Importantly, HaptGlove facilitates VR training, education, entertainment, and socialization in a reality–virtuality continuum.

Objective The osteoclastic bone resorption inhibitors might have positive effect in preventing femoral head collapse in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). However, as a novel osteoclastic inhibitor, whether denosumab can prevent collapse in steroid‐induced ONFH remains unknown. This study aims to evaluate the treatment effect of denosumab and the potential protective mechanism. Methods This was a retrospective study. A total of 161 patients with steroid‐induced ONFH who underwent denosumab treatment were reviewed, and 209 untreated patients were selected as controls. Their clinical characteristics and radiological exam results were obtained. Patients were treated with 60 mg denosumab every 6 months for 2 years. The primary outcome was the incidence of femoral head collapse at 2 years after the initial diagnosis of ONFH. Secondary outcomes included the Harris hip score, progression of osteosclerosis, increase in necrotic area, bone marrow oedema relief, and bone mineral density increase in the femoral head. The Mann–Whitney U test and chi‐square tests were performed to identify the differences between the continuous and categorical variables, respectively. A multivariate logistic regression model was built to identify the factors associated with the treatment effect of denosumab. Results The incidence of femoral head collapse was 42.24% (68/161) in the denosumab group and 54.07% (113/209) in the control group (χ2 = 5.094, p = 0.024; relative risk = 0.787, 95% CI = 0.627–0.973). Abstract Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) possesses tyrosine kinase activity and participates in cell growth, differentiation and migration, and survival. Its alterations, mainly including mutations, amplifications, and overexpression are associated with poor prognosis and are one of the major drivers in non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Several clinical trials had been investigating on the treatments of HER2‐altered NSCLC, including conventional chemotherapy, programmed death 1 (PD‐1) inhibitors, tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and antibody‐drug conjugates (ADCs), however, the results were either disappointing or encouraging, but inconsistent. Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T‐DXd) was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration as the first targeted agent for treating HER2‐mutant NSCLC. Effective screening of patients is the key to the clinical application of HER2‐targeted agents such as TKIs and ADCs. Various testing methods are nowadays available, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR), next‐generation sequencing (NGS), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), immunohistochemistry (IHC), etc. Each method has its pros and cons and should be reasonably assigned to appropriate patients for diagnosis and guiding treatment decisions. To help standardize the clinical workflow, our expert group reached a consensus on the clinical management of HER2‐altered NSCLC, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment strategies.

Abstract Cellular senescence has been listed as a hallmark of cancer, but its role in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. We comprehensively evaluated the transcriptome, genome, digital pathology, and clinical data from multiple datasets of CRC patients and proposed a novel senescence subtype for CRC. Multi‐omics data was used to analyze the biological features, tumor microenvironment, and mutation landscape of senescence subtypes, as well as drug sensitivity and immunotherapy response. The senescence score was constructed to better quantify senescence in each patient for clinical use. Unsupervised learning revealed three transcriptome‐based senescence subtypes. Cluster 1, characterized by low senescence and activated proliferative pathways, was sensitive to chemotherapeutic drugs. Cluster 2, characterized by intermediate senescence and high immune infiltration, exhibited significant immunotherapeutic advantages. Cluster 3, characterized by high senescence, high immune, and stroma infiltration, had a worse prognosis and maybe benefit from targeted therapy. We further constructed a senescence scoring system based on seven senescent genes through machine learning. Lower senescence scores were highly predictive of longer disease‐free survival, and patients with low senescence scores may benefit from immunotherapy. We proposed the senescence subtypes of CRC and our findings provide potential treatment interventions for each CRC senescence subtype to promote precision treatment.

Abstract Lanthanum zirconate (LZO) has high‐temperature advantages, including a high melting point, low thermal conductivity, and high structure stability, which has the potential to be used in high‐temperature thermal insulation field. However, low mechanical properties of LZO porous ceramics have limited further applications. In this work, LZO nanofibrous membranes were prepared by electrospinning, and the preparation parameters, including PVP content, spinning voltage, feeding rate, received distance, and the heating process, were investigated to optimize the microstructure of the nanofibrous membranes. The LZO nanofibrous membranes with a grain size of 34.5 nm displayed good morphology after calcining at 1000°C. The LZO fibrous membranes had a very low thermal conductivity of 0.0716 W/m·K at room temperature, showing excellent insulating performance. This work indicates that LZO nanofibrous membranes are promising candidate materials for thermal insulation applications.

Abstract Distributed multi‐area economic dispatch (MAED) can overcome the deficiencies of a large amount of information processing and regional privacy leakage faced by centralized scheduling. However, multiple iterations may increase communication and computing costs, as well as operational risk. Therefore, this paper proposes a double spatial scale search (DSSS) algorithm to accelerate the iterative process. First, each area performs the multi‐parametric quadratic programming (MPQP) with load and phase angles of boundary buses as parameters to pre‐process the MAED problem as a piecewise quadratic programming (PQP) problem. To reduce the complexity of MPQP, a parameter variables reduction method and a fitting‐based imprecise MPQP (i‐MPQP) algorithm are developed. Then, aided by the i‐MPQP results, we design a DSSS algorithm to optimize the PQP problem efficiently. Finally, two interconnected power systems of different sizes are used for numerical testing. The results show that the i‐MPQP can produce a 77.98% and 88.65% reduction in the number of precise MPQP (p‐MPQP) function segments. Compared with the existing algorithm, the iterations of DSSS algorithm are decreased by 75% and 76.35%, and it can converge with one iteration in most cases. Moreover, the performance of the proposed method is insensitive to the system settings and algorithm parameters.

Abstract With the breaking down of information barriers between energy flow with manufacturing flow, the coordination between them is an effective way to relieve the dual pressure from energy and environment industrial integrated energy system. The authors develop a scenario‐based coordination model for energy flow and manufacturing flow to make full use of the flexibilities of energy supply and production process to reduce energy cost. To capture the flexibility in the energy flow, the authors enhance an electricity‐steam‐product gas–gas storage coupling energy flow model considering multi‐uncertainties. The authors also develop a batch process model to formulate the flexibility in the production process. Based on the batch energy consumption constraints, the energy flow model and the batch process model are integrated as a coordination model. To ensure the feasibility of hard budget constraints under all possible random realisations, we add all‐scenario‐feasibility robust constraints which are infinite‐dimensional constraints into the model. To solve the model, a vertex scenario set based on the characteristics of convex optimisation is constructed to equivalently convert infinite‐dimensional constraints to finite‐dimensional constraints. In this way, the coordination model is transformed to a mixed integer linear programming and can be solved using CPLEX. Finally, numerical test based on a real iron and steel plant is analysed. The results show that coordination between energy with manufacturing flow is effective to reduce the energy cost and carbon emission. Compare with only optimising energy flow, the coordination model can reduce total cost about 221.6 thousand RMB and 304.44t coal every day.

Objective To compare the functional and alignment outcomes of intramedullary nail fixation using suprapatellar and infrapatellar approaches in treating distal tibial fractures. Methods In this retrospective study, 132 patients with distal tibial fractures (87 men, 45 women) ranging in age from 20 to 66 years were treated with intramedullary nails using the suprapatellar (69 patients) or infrapatellar (63 patients) approach. The radiographic alignment outcomes and ankle function were compared between the two groups. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to determine which variety influenced ankle functional scores and whether the suprapatellar approach intervention demonstrated a protective effect. Abstract This paper aims at the tracking control problem of the non‐strict‐feedback non‐linear systems with non‐constant unknown delays and full state constraints. A constrained exponential Lyapunov–Krasovskii function‐based fuzzy adaptive dynamic surface control (CELK‐FADSC) method is proposed. In order to achieve the goal of full state constraints, the tan‐type Barrier Lyapunov function (BLF) is used. Furthermore, to reduce the influence of the non‐constant unknown delays on the system, an exponential Lyapunov–Krasovskii function is constructed. At the same time, sliding mode differentiator is adopted to the dynamic surface control (DSC) method, by which the ‘complexity explosion’ problem in backstepping is solved. In addition, the proposed adaptive tracking controller can ensure that the states in the closed‐loop system do not violate their constraint, and the semi‐global uniformly ultimately bounded (SGUUB) can be achieved. Finally, simulation outcomes can prove the validity of the proposed method.

Abstract Aims Long non‐coding RNA HOXA11‐AS participated in heart disease. In this study, we aim to evaluate the potential roles of HOXA11‐AS in atherosclerosis and its underlying mechanisms. Methods and results The expression levels of HOXA11‐AS in ox‐LDL‐treated HUVECs and arch tissues of high‐fat diet‐fed ApoE−/− mice (n = 10) were assessed by qRT‐PCR. The effects of HOXA11‐AS knockdown on the development of atherosclerosis were evaluated using in vitro and in vivo models. Summary Preclinical studies have shown that the induction of secretory IgA (sIgA) in mucosa and neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) in sera is essential for designing vaccines that can effectively block the transmission of HIV‐1. We previously showed that a vaccine consisting of bacterium‐like particles (BLPs) displaying Protan‐gp120AE‐MTQ (PAM) could induce mucosal immune responses through intranasal (IN) immunization in mice and NAbs through intramuscular (IM) immunization in guinea pigs. Here, we evaluated the ability of this vaccine BLP‐PAM to elicit HIV‐1‐specific mucosal and systemic immune responses through IN and IM immunization combination strategies in rhesus macaques. First, the morphology, antigenicity and epitope accessibility of the vaccine were analysed by transmission electron microscopy, bio‐layer interferometry and ELISA. In BLP‐PAM‐immunized macaques, HIV‐1‐specific sIgA were rapidly induced through IN immunization in situ and distant mucosal sites, although the immune responses are relatively weak. Furthermore, the HIV‐1‐specific IgG and IgA antibody levels in mucosal secretions were enhanced and maintained, while production of serum NAbs against heterologous HIV‐1 tier 1 and 2 pseudoviruses was elicited after IM boost. Additionally, situ mucosal responses and systemic T cell immune responses were improved by rAd2‐gp120AE boost immunization via the IN and IM routes. These results suggested that BLP‐based delivery in combination with the IN and IM immunization approach represents a potential vaccine strategy against HIV‐1.

Abstract The paper presents a novel algorithm to classify children's epileptic syndromes based on the fused features of electroencephalogram (EEG) and electrocardiogram (ECG). The purpose is to assess whether multimodal physiological signals could improve the classification performance of epileptic syndromes over a single physiological signal. The study is carried out on the epileptic syndromes database recorded by the Children's Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (CHZU), that includes the synchronised EEGs and ECGs of 16 children suffered from the infantile spasms (known as the WEST syndrome, named) and the childhood absence epilepsy (CAE), respectively. Experiments are conducted and compared using the EEGs and ECGs in the ictal and interictal periods. The data imbalanced issue between the ictal and interictal periods is also considered by applying a synthetic minority sample generating approach. The experimental results show that using the fused feature of EEG + ECG can achieve an average of 98.15% overall classification accuracy, which is better than using the single physiological signal.

The rapid development of urban above- and underground transportation has brought an increasing number of deep foundation pit projects that close to existing urban viaducts. Excavation of the deep foundation pit projects leads to soil movement around the pile foundation, which adversely affects the adjacent existing pile foundation and seriously threatens the operation safety of the adjacent existing viaduct. In this paper, the three-dimensional numerical model of foundation pit excavation, viaduct, and pile foundation was established by using the MIDAS GTS against the background of the basement foundation pit project in the new Guangzhou Baiyun Station comprehensive transportation hub building, production, and life complex, where the interaction between foundation pit excavation and viaduct pile foundation was simulated. The influence of various excavation-related factors and different parameters of the pile foundation on lateral displacements of the pile body adjacent to the existing pile foundation was analyzed. The variables controlled in the numerical model included the different excavation depths of the foundation pit, the distance between the excavation surface and the adjacent pile foundation, the spatial effect of different excavation sequences, the diameter of the pile that adjacent to the existing pile foundation, and the elastic modulus of the bored occlusal pile support structure. The results indicated that the lateral displacement of the pile body of the bridge pile foundation was significantly affected by the excavation of the deep foundation pit. The excavation depth exerted the greatest influence on the lateral displacement of the pile foundation, followed by the distance between the pile foundation and the excavation surface, the excavation sequence of the foundation pit, and the elastic modulus and the diameter of the bored occlusive pile support structure. Among them, the pile foundation located at the corner of the foundation pit was negligibly affected by these influencing factors. The findings in this study can provide valuable experiences for similar projects.

Objective To evaluate the proprioceptive and clinical function of the knee joint after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) with various amounts of remnant preserved with as few confounding factors as possible. Methods This retrospective study included 46 patients who underwent ACLR with remnant preservation between March 2013 and February 2019. These patients had less than 6 months injury‐to‐surgery interval and no concomitant injuries. The researchers divided these subjects into two groups based on the length of the remnant preserved after ACLR, with group A defined as having more than 1/3 of the original length preserved and group B defined as less than 1/3 of the original length preserved. Clinical scores were obtained using the Lysholm knee scoring scale and the Tegner activity scale. The Lysholm score was calculated preoperatively, at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively, and at the last follow up. The Tegner score was calculated preoperatively, at 12 months postoperatively and at the last follow up. Anterior laxity was measured using the KT2000 arthrometer preoperatively and at 12 months postoperatively. Proprioceptive function was evaluated through reproduction of passive positioning (RPP) and threshold to detection of passive motion (TDPM). Both RPP and TDPM were measured at the angle of 15° at 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively. Unpaired t‐tests were performed to investigate the difference in each parameters between the two groups. Results In the present study, 20 patients were classified into group A and 26 into group B. All patients were followed up for an average of 34.70 ± 12.79 months. All 46 patients were satisfied with the outcome of the surgery and no complications were reported at the end of the study. No significant differences were found between the two groups in terms of the Lysholm score and anterior laxity by KT2000 at all time points. The Tegner score was significantly higher in group A at 12 months postoperatively and at the final follow‐up. In addition, group A's RPP was significantly better than that of group B's when tested at the angles of 15° and 30° at 3 months postoperatively, and at the angle of 15° at 6 months postoperatively. Group A's TDPM was also significantly better than that of group B's at all three tested angles at 3 months postoperatively, and at the angle of 15° at 6 months postoperatively. Conclusion Patients with ACLR with more than 1/3 of the original length preserved demonstrated a higher activity level 12 months postoperatively and better proprioceptive function at 15° of extension at 3 and 6 months postoperatively.

Screening for early‐stage disease is vital for reducing colorectal cancer (CRC)‐related mortality. Methylation of circulating tumor DNA has been previously used for various types of cancer screening. A novel cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) methylation‐based model which can improve the early detection of CRC is warranted. For our study, we collected 313 tissue and 577 plasma samples from patients with CRC, advanced adenoma (AA), non‐AA and healthy controls. After quality control, 187 tissue DNA samples (91 non‐malignant tissue from CRC patients, 26 AA and 70 CRC) and 489 plasma cfDNA samples were selected for targeted DNA methylation sequencing. We further developed a cfDNA methylation model based on 11 methylation biomarkers for CRC detection in the training cohort (area under curve [AUC] = 0.90 (0.85–0.94]) and verified the model in the validation cohort (AUC = 0.92 [0.88–0.96]). The cfDNA methylation model robustly detected patients pre‐diagnosed with early‐stage CRC (AUC = 0.90 [0.86–0.95]) or AA (AUC = 0.85 [0.78–0.91]). Here we established and validated a non‐invasive cfDNA methylation model based on 11 DNA methylation biomarkers for the detection of early‐stage CRC and AA. The utilization of the model in clinical practice may contribute to the early diagnosis of CRC.

Abstract Optimal charging scheduling of electric vehicles with renewable energy could greatly save the electricity cost in parking lots, and also helps for environment protection. However, uncertainties of renewable energy and electric vehicles charging demand bring great challenges to obtaining the optimal charging policy. To this end, in this paper, a state aggregation based dynamic programming method is presented for such a stochastic charging scheduling problem. Specifically, first, a new Markov decision process based formulation is established for the multi‐stage stochastic programming problem. Second, a novel state‐aggregation method is proposed to relieve the dimension curse due to large state‐action space without sacrificing the optimality of the charging policy. Besides, the consistency of the problem before and after state aggregation also could be verified by proposed theorems both on feasibility and optimality. Moreover, economic efficiency and computational efficiency are both improved in numerical testing, which shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract This study aims to determine the effects and mechanism of action of muscone on the biological activity of the gastric cancer cell lines SGC‐7901 and MGC‐803 (proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, and migration) in vitro. An optimal muscone concentration was determined using MTT and cell apoptosis tests. The SGC‐7901 and MGC‐803 cells were divided into five groups: normal control, muscone, miRNA, muscone + miRNA, and muscone + miRNA inhibitor. Cell proliferation rate, apoptosis rate, cell cycle phase distribution, number of invading cells, and wound healing rate were compared among the five groups using MTT, flow cytometry, transwell, and wound healing assays. Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effects and mechanisms of houttuynia on lung pathological injury in rats with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Rats were randomly divided into the normal control, COPD model (model), low‐dose treatment (low, 5 mg/kg), middle‐dose treatment (middle, 10 mg/kg), and high‐dose treatment (high, 25 mg/kg) groups. The COPD rat model was induced by smoking combined with intratracheal instillation of lipopolysaccharide. The treatment groups were given Houttuynia by gavage at 30 min before smoking. Objective To investigate the methods and outcomes of hip arthroscopy for hip labrum calcification, and to discuss the clinical, imaging, and intraoperative findings of hip labrum calcification. Methods This is a therapeutic case series study. From January 2015 to June 2018, 15 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were followed up for at least 2 years for an analysis on the outcomes of arthroscopy in the treatment of hip labrum calcification and the clinical, imaging, and intraoperative findings of the patients. There were eight males and seven females, with an average age of 38.9 ± 8.8 years (range, 23–50 years). The visual analog scale (VAS), the modified Harris hip score (mHSS), and the international hip outcome tool (iHOT‐12) were used to evaluate the outcomes of surgery. Results A total of 15 patients were followed up for at least 2 years (28.1 ± 2.9 months). The average calcified volume was 118.0 mm3 (range, 19.4–609.2 mm3) and calcified volume was related to the preoperative hip function score. Thirteen patients had pain in the groin area (86.7%). Labrum calcifications were located (according to the clock distribution) as follows: 14 patients were anterior and superior (11:00–3:00); 12 cases of femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) were observed during operation, including five cases of pincer type, two cases of cam type, and five cases of mixed type. VAS pain score means were 7.73 ± 1.28 before surgery, decreasing to 2.0 ± 0.89 and 1.73 ± 0.79 at 1 and 2 years post‐surgery, respectively. mHSS scores were 57.40 ± 6.23 before surgery and 82.10 ± 4.76 and 83.18 ± 4.07, 1 and 2 years post‐surgery, respectively; iHOT‐12 mean score pre‐surgery was 37.67 ± 4.85, increasing to 67.64 ± 5.30 and 72.18 ± 4.49, 1 and 2 years post‐surgery, respectively. Abstract Performance limit evaluation of automatic driving system before putting into the market is critical for driving safety. The evolution test by genetic algorithm (GA) is a method by iteratively generating new test scenarios according to the last test results. To avoid its blind search for better efficiency, a scenario complexity index is proposed to measure the test effectiveness indirectly and guide the evolution process under the assumption that a complex scenario is more challenging to realise automatic driving. The traditional crossover and mutation operators are modified to generate more complex scenarios to improve the test efficiency. The advantage of the improved crossover/mutation operators in increasing the offspring's scenario complexity index is analysed in theory. Moreover, the influence of the design parameters on the evolution test process and the global convergence are also discussed. The new evolution test by this improved GA has been applied to find the collision condition of a parallel automatic parking system to validate its effectiveness.

Abstract Alkyl chains engineering plays an important role in photovoltaic materials for organic solar cells. Herein, three A‐DA'D‐A (acceptor–donor–acceptor'–donor–acceptor) type acceptors named Y6, Y6‐C4, and Y6‐C5 with different branching position on the pyrrole motif are discussed and the relationship between molecular aggregation, crystalline, and device performance are systematically investigated. The distance between the branching position and the main backbone affects their optical absorption and energy levels. Y6‐C4 and Y6‐C5 with the branching position at the fourth and fifth carbon of the alkyl chain show blue‐shifted absorption and increased electrochemical bandgaps, compared with Y6 with the branching position at the second carbon of the alkyl side chain. In addition, this distance influences the molecular aggregation and crystalline behavior of the donor/acceptor blends. Compared with Y6‐C4, Y6‐C5 possesses a stronger crystalline and aggregate ability in the blends with a lower non‐radiative energy loss, which results in a higher open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.88 V. Finally, Y6‐C5‐based binary device achieved a high power conversion efficiency up to 16.73% with afill factor (FF) of 0.78. These results demonstrate that the side chain engineering is an effective strategy for tuning the molecular aggregation and crystalline to improve photovoltaic performance of the A‐DA'D‐A type acceptors.

Abstract Considering the robust and stable nature of the active layers, advancing the power conversion efficiency (PCE) has long been the priority for all‐polymer solar cells (all‐PSCs). Despite the recent surge of PCE, the photovoltaic parameters of the state‐of‐the‐art all‐PSC still lag those of the polymer:small molecule‐based devices. To compete with the counterparts, judicious modulation of the morphology and thus the device electrical properties are needed. It is difficult to improve all the parameters concurrently for the all‐PSCs with advanced efficiency, and one increase is typically accompanied by the drop of the other(s). In this work, with the aids of the solvent additive (1‐chloronaphthalene) and the n‐type polymer additive (N2200), we can fine‐tune the morphology of the active layer and demonstrate a 16.04% efficient all‐PSC based on the PM6:PY‐IT active layer. The grazing incidence wide‐angle X‐ray scattering measurements show that the shape of the crystallites can be altered, and the reshaped crystallites lead to enhanced and more balanced charge transport, reduced recombination, and suppressed energy loss, which lead to concurrently improved and device efficiency and stability.

Abstract The current study aims to explore the miRNA changes that occur in the serum of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and healthy controls using a microarray technique, thereby exploring the potential biomarkers in the diagnosis of CHD and the underlying mechanism. Clinical data were reviewed, and venous blood samples were collected from 66 cases of CHD and 58 cases of healthy controls. MicroRNA‐wide expression profiling identified 16 miRNAs that were aberrantly decreased by ~2‐fold in the serum of patients with CHD compared to that of healthy controls. RT‐PCR analysis indicated that the expression of miR‐3129‐5p was increased the most in patients with CHD compared with that of controls. Moreover, serum miR‐3129‐5p was found to be highest in the severe stenosis group, followed by the moderate stenosis group and mild stenosis group. ROC analysis showed that serum miR‐3129‐5p could differentiate patients with CHD from controls. Further study showed that mTOR was a target gene of miR‐3129‐5p. Western blot assays demonstrated that miR‐3129‐5p significantly suppressed the phosphorylation of S6 but increased LC3II/LC3I and Beclin1 levels. Consistently, GFP‐LC3 and TEM assays indicated that miR‐3129 increased autophagy puncta in H9C2 cells. More importantly, silencing mTOR significantly decreased the expression of p‐S6 but increased LC3II/LC3I and Beclin expression even in H9C2 cells transfected with miR‐3129‐5p inhibitor, indicating that miR‐3129‐5p‐induced cell autophagy was mediated via mTOR in H9C2 cells. In summary, elevated serum miR‐3129‐5p contributes to CHD by targeting mTOR signaling and may be a therapeutic target in the treatment of CHD.

Abstract Understanding maturation pathways of broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) against HIV‐1 can be highly informative for HIV‐1 vaccine development. A lineage of J038 bnAbs is now obtained from a long‐term SHIV‐infected macaque. J038 neutralizes 54% of global circulating HIV‐1 strains. Its binding induces a unique “up” conformation for one of the V2 loops in the trimeric envelope glycoprotein and is heavily dependent on glycan, which provides nearly half of the binding surface. Their unmutated common ancestor neutralizes the autologous virus. Continuous maturation enhances neutralization potency and breadth of J038 lineage antibodies via expanding antibody‐Env contact areas surrounding the core region contacted by germline‐encoded residues. Developmental details and recognition features of J038 lineage antibodies revealed here provide a new pathway for elicitation and maturation of V2‐targeting bnAbs.

The fluid front motion is an important phenomenon during anisotropic fluid flow in rock engineering. The pore pressure and mechanical responses may be significantly influenced and show an obvious difference near the moving fluid front. However, few studies have been conducted to investigate the front motion of different types of fluids during anisotropic fluid flow. In this work, a numerical model was proposed to detect the front motion of water, nitrogen, and CO2 in anisotropic shale reservoirs. The full coupling effects among mechanical deformation, fluid flow, and moving boundary in anisotropic porous media were considered in the model construction. The impacts of different fluid properties among water, nitrogen, and CO2 on the anisotropic fluid flow have been discussed. Then, the proposed model was applied to study the differences in front motion among different types of fluids in anisotropic shales. The impacts of permeability and mobility on fluid front motion were investigated. The theoretical equations for predicting the fluid front motion of different types of fluids were established by introducing corresponding correction coefficients to the previous formulas. The results showed that the model can well describe the anisotropic fluid permeation process. The fluid front motion increased with the increase of permeability and mobility. At the same permeability or mobility, the nitrogen front motion was the largest and the water front motion was the smallest. The difference in fluid front motion among water, nitrogen, and CO2 was caused by the difference of their viscosity and compressibility. The proposed formulas can fast and accurately predict the evolution of fluid front motion for different types of fluids.

The characteristics of expansive soil, including over consolidation, swelling-shrinkage, fissures, and strength attenuation, can cause potential hazards in road construction, which are mainly manifested as subgrade swelling-shrinkage deformation and slope collapse. Effective treatment can not only ensure long-term subgrade stability but also reduce investment costs and environmental impact. In this review, the current development status of embankment filling and cutting slope treatment technology in expansive soil areas were summarized, and the classification standards of expansive soil filler, moisture retention, and antiseepage technology were described. Then, the utility of chemical, physical, biological, and solid waste modification materials in improving the engineering characteristics of core-filled expansive soil was discussed, and the cost and technical characteristics of these modification technologies were compared and analysed. Next, the application of rigid and flexible support technology in the treatment of cutting slope collapse was analysed, and the advantages and disadvantages of rigid and flexible supports were summarized. Finally, the development direction of expansive soil subgrade treatment technology was discussed. This review includes a summary of the treatment methods of highway subgrade in expansive soil areas and can provide a technical reference for treatment methods of expansive soil subgrade.

Oral cancer (OC), the most common cancer in the head and neck, which has a poor prognosis, histopathologically follows a stepwise pattern of hyperplasia, dysplasia, and cancer. Blocking the progression of OC in the precancer stage could greatly improve the survival and cure rates. AKT protein plays a critical role in the signal transduction of cancer cells, and we found that AKT was overexpressed in human OC samples through analysis of TCGA database. Therefore, this study is aimed at investigating the chemopreventive effect of an AKT inhibitor (MK2206 2HCl) on OC. In vivo, we established a 4-nitroquinoline-1-oxide- (4NQO-) induced mouse tongue carcinogenesis model to investigate the potential chemopreventive effect of MK2206 2HCl on mouse OC resulting from 4NQO. The results showed that MK2206 2HCl could significantly reduce the incidence rate and growth of OC, inhibit the transformation of dysplasia to cancer in the 4NQO-induced mouse tongue carcinogenesis model, and simultaneously markedly suppress cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and mast cell (MC) infiltration in 4NQO-induced mouse tongue cancers. In vitro, our results revealed that MK2206 2HCl could also inhibit oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cell malignant biological behaviors, including cell proliferation, colony formation, cell invasion, and migration, while promoting apoptosis. Mechanistic studies revealed that MK2206 2HCl suppressed matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and RhoC expression and promoted autophagy gene LC3 II expression. In summary, our findings demonstrated the chemopreventive effect of MK2206 2HCl on the 4NQO-induced mouse tongue carcinogenesis model, which likely has an underlying mechanism mediated by the MMP-9/RhoC signaling pathway and autophagy.

Galfan-coated full-locked coil rope is widely applied in long-span spatial structures because of its high strength and lightweight. However, the corrosion problem is relatively serious in the natatorium, which affects the structure’s durability. To deeply reveal the corrosion mechanism of Galfan-coated cable, this study first measured the natatorium on-site, and the results indicated that the natatorium environment can be simulated by a constant temperature and humidity environment in engineering. Then, the constant temperature and humidity corrosion test was carried out to simulate the corrosion of Galfan-coated cable with a certain amount of chloride ions on the surface, and the early corrosion rate was obtained. Later, the neutral salt spray accelerated corrosion test was carried out to predict the corrosion rate of the cable in the natatorium environment in the middle and late periods. The specimens included no-stress unprotected coating cable, high-stress unprotected coating cable, and high-stress protected coating cable. The results show that high stress will accelerate the corrosion, and a protective coating can effectively prevent the corrosion. Finally, the linear model, bilinear model, and bilinear model considering chloride ion accumulation were proposed to study the corrosion of the Galfan coating. The results show that the linear model overestimates the corrosion rate, and the bilinear model and bilinear model considering chloride ion accumulation are practical. Meanwhile, corresponding maintenance suggestions were given for the natatorium project to improve the structure's durability.

With the increase in traffic volume and axle load, the requirement of road quality is continuously improving, and high modulus asphalt has attracted the attention of researchers due to its excellent road service performance and economic benefits. In order to further improve the durability and use quality of Chinese roads, realize the scientific evaluation of the performance of high modulus asphalt and its mixture, and further promote the development of high modulus asphalt technology in China, the performance indexes of high modulus asphalt and its mixture in China were comprehensively investigated. The differences in high- and low-temperature performance of matrix asphalt, basic modified high modulus asphalt, and composite modified high modulus asphalt were compared and evaluated. Based on the results of mathematical statistics and the relevant specifications of high modulus asphalt in China, the performance grades of high modulus asphalt and its mixture were proposed. The results showed that compared with the basic asphalt, the softening points of the basic modified high modulus asphalt and the composite modified high modulus asphalt were increased by 18.76% and 82.89%, respectively, and the rutting factors were increased by 2 and 9 times, respectively, but the improvement effect of the low-temperature performance of the high modulus asphalt was not obvious. Based on the data statistics node and relevant Chinese regulations, high modulus asphalt and its mixtures were divided into four grades: excellent, good, fair, and poor, aiming to provide scientific suggestions for the wide application of high modulus asphalt.

An increasing number of large-span space structures use flexible roofs to achieve a light and splendid architectural effect. When a flexible structural system such as a cable net is applied in a large-span stadium, the roof will deform significantly under the self-weight and wind load. Accessory structures of the roof such as catwalks, radial drainage pipes, circular drainage channels, and radial cable trenches need to cooperate with the large deformation of the roof to prevent damage caused by the large deformation of the roof. To thoroughly unveil the analysis and design method of an accessory structure, this paper first carried out the wind tunnel test to determine the wind load of the structure. Then, the gust response factors of each roof area and the dynamic amplification coefficient of the accessory structure considering the roof vibration were determined. Next, circular and radial catwalks were designed based on static analysis. A sliding joint was set in the accessory structure to adapt to the large deformation of the roof. Finally, a time history analysis of the catwalk was carried out to obtain the maximum deformation value of the sliding joint for the safety of the structure. The results demonstrate that the maximum deformation is less than the value given by the design and meets the specification.

Background. Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex, locus E (LY6E) is abnormally expressed in several cancers and is associated with poor outcomes. However, the biological role of LY6E in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains largely unknown. Hence, we aimed to evaluate the expression levels, prognostic value, biological functions, and immune effects of LY6E via pan-cancer and CRC analyses using multiple databases. Methods. We analyzed the expression pattern of LY6E in various cancers. The prognostic value of LY6E expression was identified using the Kaplan–Meier analysis and the Cox regression models. We used gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) to identify the potential functions of LY6E. Correlations between the LY6E expression and various factors, including LY6E methylation level, copy number variation (CNV), microsatellite instability (MSI), and immune checkpoint genes, were also analyzed. The levels of LY6E expression and immune infiltration were analyzed using CIBERSORT. We constructed a regulatory network that was in compliance with the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) hypothesis. A ceRNA expression-based nomogram was established. Real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was applied to validate the expression of LY6E-related ceRNA in CRC cell lines. Results. LY6E is overexpressed in several tumor types, including CRC, and patients with high expression levels of LY6E have a poor prognosis. The Kaplan–Meier analysis and Cox regression analysis showed that LY6E could be considered a favorable prognostic factor in TCGA and GEO cohort. The results of GSEA showed that high LY6E expression levels were associated with immune-related pathways, such as those involved in antigen processing and presentation and the intestinal immune network for IgA production. Six methylation sites of LY6E that were associated with prognostic survival were screened. Moreover, the high levels of LY6E expression were correlated with copy number gain, microsatellite instability high, and immunotherapy response. The results of CIBERSORT analysis demonstrated that the LY6E expression levels were correlated with the infiltration of multiple immune cells, especially T cells. Then, we constructed a ceRNA network (LINC00963/miR-92a-3p/LY6E) and validated it using qRT-PCR. A predictive ceRNA-based nomogram was established and validated. Conclusion. The oncogenic LY6E may serve as a promising marker for the diagnosis and treatment of CRC.

This paper proposes a method to improve the mixing efficiency of a supersonic combustor by using arrayed pulsed energy depositions, and this method is verified by a numerical simulation. In the simulation, the Navier-Stokes equations with an energy source are solved to simulate the effects of energy depositions in various distributions on the fuel mixture in the combustor. It is found that the energy deposition arranged in the streamwise direction leads to a significant improvement in the mixing efficiency and maximum concentration decay rate of the ethylene fuel by increasing the scale of the jet-induced counter-rotating vortex pair. The energy deposition arranged in the spanwise direction introduces another counter-rotating vortex pair which can also contribute to the fuel mixture. By comparison, the energy deposition distributed in the streamwise direction and downstream of the jet orifice is shown to be the most effective case in the fuel mixing enhancement. Under the energy deposition, the wall pressure on the trailing edge of the cavity is increased which leads to a decrease in the total pressure recovery of the combustor, but this decrease is not significant.
