Abstract Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death worldwide, and several studies have attempted to identify its risk factors. This study aimed to investigate the association between sleep duration and sleep quality, and the 7‐year incidence of CVD among middle‐aged and older Chinese individuals. A total of 6682 participants aged 45–90 years from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study database were included in this study. The authors estimated sleep duration and quality based on self‐reported data of night sleep hours and disturbance symptoms, and examined the associations between them and the composite outcome of CVD using logistic regression models. A total of 1692 participants (25.32%) reported new CVD events during follow‐up. Short sleep duration ( 8 h/night). Additionally, participants with mild sleep disturbance in all three models, and severe sleep disturbance in Models 2 and 3 had a significantly higher risk of CVD (p .05). In conclusion, short sleep duration and sleep disturbance are both associated with an increased risk of CVD in middle‐aged and older Chinese individuals.

Abstract The trade winds cause strong upwelling in the eastern equatorial Pacific, and create the eastern Pacific Cold Tongue (EPCT) that has far‐reaching impacts on global climate. However, large discrepancies persist in quantifying 20th‐century EPCT sea surface temperature (SST) changes across different instrumental data sets. Here we synthesize four coral Sr/Ca‐SST records from the tropical central‐eastern Pacific to develop a Cold Tongue Index (CTI) reconstruction for 1887–1997. The coral CTI record shows a rapid 20th century warming of the EPCT, suggesting an underestimation of warming trends in instrumental CTI records. The decadal to multidecadal changes in reconstructed EPCT SST show an association with the Walker Circulation. Our reconstruction indicates that recent EPCT cooling during the global warming hiatus is not unusual in the context of the 20th century. Our results provide new evidence for 20th century EPCT SST changes and an observational constraint for predicting future tropical climate changes.

Abstract Intrashell oxygen isotope (δ18Os) analyses of terrestrial snails have been carried out over two decades. However, the intraspecies/interspecies differences are not yet well understood. Here, we conducted a high‐resolution intrashell δ18Os study on 43 shells from Cathaica fasciola and Bradybaena ravida, and 1449 δ18Os data were obtained. These large amounts of data demonstrate the reproducibility of intrashell δ18Os. Our results suggest that C. fasciola and B. ravida have similar growing seasons mainly from March to October in the studied region. The ecological habits of the two species could explain the distinctive variations in their δ18Os sequences. Therefore, our study may interpret the discrepancy between the studies of land snail species and the stable/clumped isotopes of their shells. Moreover, the calculated average growth rate is ∼290 μm/day (from 250 to 330 μm/day) for nonadult C. fasciola. Thus, the use of snail shells for reconstructing high‐resolution terrestrial climate changes is promising.

Abstract Background Gut microbiota plays a key role in the development of sarcopenia via the ‘gut‐muscle’ axis, and probiotics‐based therapy might be a strategy for sarcopenia. Fecal microbiota transplantation from young donors (yFMT) has attracted much attention because of its probiotic function. However, whether or not yFMT is effective for sarcopenia in old recipients is largely unknown. Thus, we aimed to investigate the effect and mechanism of yFMT on age‐related sarcopenia. Methods The fecal microbiota of either young (12 weeks) or old (88 weeks) donor rats was transplanted into aged recipient rats for 8 weeks. To assess the incidence and characteristics of treatment-requiring diabetic macular edema (TR-DME) in eyes after delayed sequential bilateral cataract surgery in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods. This was a retrospective study involving patients with diabetes who underwent cataract surgery at Shaanxi Eye Hospital between January 2019 and December 2021. The incidence and characteristics of a first episode of TR-DME after delayed sequential bilateral cataract surgery were observed. Results. The influence of consumer psychological effects on customer needs has become a normal state of product sales models in the consumer goods supply chain field. The literature lacks systematic research on the mechanism through which consumer psychological effects affect customer needs. On the basis of analyzing and sorting out the literature and viewpoints, this paper establishes a mathematical model to investigate how manufacturers design and plan product supply strategies based on nonessential demand patterns under three different sales models. Finally, by solving the mathematical model, the optimal production volume, the optimal commodity price, and the maximum profit that can be obtained by the manufacturer are obtained, and the correctness of the model is verified via numerical calculation. The study results explain the relationships among commodity costs, demand, and commodity pricing, which are significant for the study of consumer psychology and can further provide a beneficial reference for manufacturers in various industries.

Abstract The seasonal rainfall regime is a key factor control on local ecological and social processes and is commonly thought to be stable under long‐term climate changes. Here we present a unique high‐resolution rainfall record from the Thai‐Malay Peninsula, combined with a state‐of‐the‐art transient climate simulation, demonstrating a fundamental rainfall regime shift from summer to winter during the Holocene. Transient model simulation and new sensitivity experiments further reveal that westward migration of the boundary between summer and winter rainfall regimes results in a summer to winter rainfall regime shift forced by distinct changes in summer and winter monsoons. Our findings suggest that the seasonal rainfall regime could be unstable under climate change around the boundaries of rainfall regimes in the tropics and possibly worldwide, which might be more critical for shaping both past and future ecological environments.

Abstract A hybrid chaotic mapping algorithm(HCM) based on 1‐DCM (one‐dimensional chaotic map) and Lorenz is proposed to address the security issues of low‐dimensional chaotic systems and the complexity of high‐dimensional chaotic systems. Firstly, the color images are divided into three high 4‐bit planes (BP) and low 4‐bit planes. By optimizing the parameters and structure of trigonometric function, the new arcsine‐sine (AS) function is designedto generate the 1‐DCM and permutation matrix, which is constructed to change the plane position and pixel position of the high 12BP to obtain the scrambling plane, which is encrypted by Lorenz chaotic system to produce the selfencryption matrix, with which the low 12BP is encrypted to generate the low bit encryption planes. Then, the ciphertext image is obtained by combining the high bit scrambling plane and low bit encryption plane. The SHA function is also used as the chaotic system's parameter generator, which improves the correlation between plaintext images and the key and resists selective plaintext attacks. The simulation results show that by modularizing the image's high and low bit planes, the encryption process is simplified and improved. The security and reliability of color image transmission are also improved.

Abstract Odronextamab is a fully‐human IgG4‐based CD20xCD3 bispecific antibody that binds to CD3 on T cells and CD20 on B cells, triggering T‐cell‐mediated cytotoxicity independent of T‐cell‐receptor recognition. Adequate safety, tolerability, and encouraging durable complete responses have been observed in an ongoing first‐in‐human (FIH) study of odronextamab in patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) B‐cell non‐Hodgkin lymphoma (B‐NHL; NCT02290951). We retrospectively evaluated the pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, and antitumor characteristics of odronextamab in a series of in vitro/in vivo preclinical experiments, to assess their translational value to inform dose escalation for the FIH study. Half‐maximal effective concentration values from in vitro cytokine release assays (range: 0.05–0.08 mg/L) provided a reasonable estimate of odronextamab concentrations in patients associated with cytokine release at a 0.5 mg dose (maximum serum concentration: 0.081 mg/L) on week 1/day 1, which could therefore be used to determine the week 1 clinical dose. Odronextamab concentrations resulting in 100% inhibition of tumor growth in a Raji xenograft tumor mouse model (1–10 mg/L) were useful to predict efficacious concentrations in patients and inform dose‐escalation strategy. Although predicted human pharmacokinetic parameters derived from monkey data overestimated projected odronextamab exposure, they provided a conservative estimate for FIH starting doses. With step‐up dosing, the highest‐tested weekly odronextamab dose in patients (320 mg) exceeded the 1 mg/kg single dose in monkeys without step‐up dosing. In conclusion, combination of odronextamab in vitro cytokine data, efficacious concentration data from mouse tumor models, and pharmacokinetic evaluations in monkeys has translational value to inform odronextamab FIH study design in patients with R/R B‐NHL.

Abstract Droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) is a highly sensitive and accurate method for quantification of nucleic acid sequences. We used absolute quantification of mutated v‐Ki‐ras2 Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homology gene (KRAS) by ddPCR to investigate the prognostic role of mutated KRAS in patients with KRAS‐mutated lung adenocarcinomas. Pre‐treatment plasma samples from 60 patients with stages I–IV KRAS‐mutated lung adenocarcinomas were analysed for KRAS mutations. The associations between survival, detectable KRAS mutations in plasma, and the plasma concentration of mutated KRAS were assessed. Overall, 23 of 60 (38%) patients had detectable KRAS mutation in plasma. The percentage of patients with detectable mutation was 8% in stage I, 30% in stage II, 71% in stage III, and 73% in stage IV. Estimated overall median progression‐free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were 26.2 months [95% confidence interval (CI) 12.5–39.9] and 50.8 months (95% CI 0–107.3), respectively. Patients with detectable mutations in plasma had significantly worse median PFS compared to patients with undetectable mutation (13.1 versus 70.1 months) and shorter median OS (20.7 versus not reached). High circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) concentrations of mutated KRAS were significantly associated with shorter PFS [hazard ratio (HR) 1.008, 95% CI 1.004–1.012] and OS (HR 1.007, 95% CI 1.003–1.011). All associations remained statistically significant in multivariable analyses. In conclusion, ddPCR is an accurate and easily feasible technique for quantification of KRAS mutations in ctDNA. The presence of detectable KRAS mutation in plasma at baseline was associated with worse PFS and OS. High concentration of mutated KRAS in ctDNA was an independent negative prognostic factor for both PFS and OS.

Abstract Both the accurate distance measurement and positioning information at the nanoscale are important for the analysis of micro/nano interactions. Plasmon ruler has been an indispensable optical tool to detect the chemical and biological dynamic processes via distance‐dependent plasmon coupling in the nearly aggregated state. But it cannot disclose the detailed and accurate information of positions and dynamic movements of its two plasmonic components owing to the inherent diffraction limit. Herein, a plasmonic locator is presented which consists of a heterotypic pair of red/blue plasmonic components with significant wavelength difference (∼150 nm). Attributed to the detuned energy (∼0.64 eV) of the two components, the plasmonic locator has the ability of sub‐diffraction‐limited resolution (center to center, 30 nm) and accurate positioning under conventional dark‐field microscopy, making the relative dynamic information of nearby red/blue components be recorded accurately at video rate. As an important complement to the current aggregate science and technology of plasmonics, this newly developed plasmonic locator presents a facile means to realize super‐resolution imaging, accurate positioning, and continuous tracing in chemical and biological interactions at the single‐molecule level.

Objective To investigate the relationship between primary femoral head necrosis (ONFH) and an ABO blood group. Methods This study was a retrospective case–control trial. An analysis of the clinical data of an ABO blood group with 516 patients (case group) with ONFH and 489 limb‐fracture patients (control group) without previous hip pain was obtained from the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from November 2015 to November 2018. The clinical data included gender, age, height, weight, a history of smoking, alcohol abuse, prior medical history, hormone use, and ABO blood type. A logistic regression model was used for univariate and multivariate analysis. Results From November 2015 to November 2018, there were 267 males and 249 females in the 516 cases of ONFH in the case group. The control group included 289 males and 200 females. In terms of age, the average age of the case group was significantly lower than that of the control group. In terms of body mass index (BMI), the BMI of the case group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P 0.05). However, there are significant differences in the disease progression between the different blood types. There was a significant difference in the progression of disease between type A and type O. Among them, patients with ONFH and type A blood had the fastest progression with an average of 2.318 years, and the slowest progression was found in type O blood with an average of 5.15 years. Conclusions The ABO blood group has no correlation with the occurrence of ONFH, but the ABO blood type is closely related to the disease progression of ONFH.

Differences in the effect of gefitinib and chemotherapy on tumor burden in non‐small cell lung cancer remain to be fully understood. Using a Bayesian hierarchical model of tumor size dynamics, we estimated the rates of tumor growth and treatment resistance for patients in the Iressa Pan‐Asia Study study (NCT00322452). The following relationships characterize greater efficacy of gefitinib in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) positive tumors: Maximum drug effect is, in decreasing order, gefitinib in EGFR‐positive, chemotherapy in EGFR‐positive, chemotherapy in EGFR‐negative, and gefitinib in EGFR‐negative tumors; the rate of resistance emergence is, in increasing order: gefitinib in EGFR positive, chemotherapy in EGFR positive, while each is plausibly similar to the rate in EGFR negative tumors, which are estimated with less certainty. The rate of growth is smaller in EGFR‐positive than in EGFR‐negative fully resistant tumors, regardless of treatment. The model can be used to compare treatment effects and resistance dynamics among different drugs.

Background. Dietary modulation is a primary lifestyle approach for reducing the risk of hypertension. However, evidence of the potential role that a dietary taste preference plays in the risk of hypertension remains limited. Methods. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted based on the Shaanxi baseline survey of the Regional Ethnic Cohort Study. We used self-reported salt consumption and intensity preferences for sourness and spiciness to calculate the taste preference score, which was categorized into bland, moderate, and strong. A generalized linear mixed model and quantile regression were performed to estimate associations between taste preferences and hypertension/blood pressure. Results. Among 27,233 adults, 72.2% preferred a moderate taste and 21.4% preferred a strong taste. Compared with a bland taste, a stronger taste preference might be associated with a higher risk of hypertension (adjusted OR for a moderate taste = 1.25, 95% CI: 1.06, 1.49; adjusted OR for a strong taste = 1.41, 95% CI: 1.15, 1.71; Ptrend = 0.002), especially in females (adjusted OR for a moderate taste = 1.43, 95% CI: 1.24, 1.66; adjusted OR for a strong taste = 1.55, 95% CI: 1.32, 1.83; Ptrend

Our main aim is to describe the entire solutions of several systems of α1f1z2+α2f2z+c2=1,β1f2z2+β2f1z+c2=1,α1∂f1/∂z1n1+α2f2z+cm1=1,β1∂f2/∂z1n2+β2f1z+cm2=1, and α1∂f1/∂z12+α2f2z+c2=1,β1∂f2/∂z12+β2f1z+c2=1,α1∂f1/∂z12+α2f2z+c+α3f1z2=1,β1∂f2/∂z12+β2f1z+c+β3f2z2=1, where αj,βjj=1,2,3 are nonzero constants in ℂ and mj,njj=1,2 are positive integers. We obtain several theorems on the existence and the forms of solutions for these systems, which are some improvements and supplements of the previous theorems given by Xu and Cao, Gao, and Liu and Yang. Moreover, we give some examples to explain the existence of solutions for such systems.

Abstract To date, the decadal variability of the Global Monsoon (GM) has been mainly studied using instrumental data collected over the last 50 years, and further discussion has been hampered by the limited data length. Here, we present a coral δ18O record from the northern South China Sea, where the hydrology is related to the seasonal Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) migration, and we use this record to reconstruct the decadal migration of the ITCZ since 1851 A.D. Combining our record with a synthesis of monsoon records reveals an anti‐phase inter‐hemispheric variability of the GM over the last 150 years, indicating that the decadal‐scale hydrologic variability in the tropics is modulated by the meridional migration of the ITCZ. The plausible relationship observed between the decadal variability of the GM and the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation suggests that the decadal variability of tropical hydrological changes is likely linked to the climate perturbations in the North Atlantic.

The main aim of this paper is to establish some theorems concerning the error EnF,β, the Sun’s type function Ur, and Muσ,F of entire functions defined by Laplace-Stieltjes transforms with infinite order converge in the whole complex plane. Our results exhibit the growth of Laplace-Stieltjes transforms from the point of view of approximation.

Abstract Background Dyslipidaemia contributes to the progression of coronary artery disease (CAD) toward adverse outcomes. Plasma lipidomic measure may improve the prognostic performances of clinical endpoints of CAD. Our research is designed to identify the correlations between plasma lipid species and the risks of death, major adverse cardiovascular event (MACE) and left ventricular (LV) remodeling in patients with CAD. Methods A total of 1569 Chinese patients with CAD, 1011 single‐centre patients as internal training cohort, and 558 multicentre patients as external validation cohort, were enrolled. The concentration of plasma lipids in both cohorts was determined through widely targeted lipidomic profiling. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator Cox and multivariate Cox regressions were used to develop prognostic models for death and MACE, respectively. Results Ten (Cer(d18:1/20:1), Cer(d18:1/24:1), PE(30:2), PE(32:0), PE(32:2), PC(O‐38:2), PC(O‐36:4), PC(16:1/22:2), LPC(18:2/0:0) and LPE(0:0/24:6)) and two (Cer(d18:1/20:1) and LPC(20:0/0:0)) lipid species were independently related to death and MACE, respectively. In addition, we also investigate the approximation of Laplace–Stieltjes transform with the proximate order and obtain some results containing the proximate growth order, the error, An∗, and λn, which are the extension and improvement of the previous theorems given by Luo and Kong and Singhal and Srivastava.

One purpose of this paper is to study the growth of entire functions defined by Laplace-Stieltjes transform converges on the whole complex plane, by introducing the concept of p,q-proximate order, and one equivalence theorem of the p,q-proximate order of Laplace-Stieltjes transforms is obtained. Opinion mining plays an important role in public opinion monitoring, commodity evaluation, government governance, and other areas. One of the basic tasks of opinion mining is to extract the expression elements, which can be further divided into direct subjective expression and expressive subjective expression. For the task of subjective expression extraction, the methods based on neural network can learn features automatically without exhaustive feature engineering and have been proved to be efficient for opinion mining. Constructing adequate input vector which can encode sufficient information is a challenge of neural network-based approach. To cope with this problem, a novel representation method that combines the different features with word vectors is proposed. Then, we use neural network and conditional random field to train and predict the expressions and carry out comparative experiments on different methods and features combinations. Experimental results show the performance of the proposed model, and the F value outperforms other methods in comparative experimental dataset. Our work can provide hint for further research on opinion expression extraction.

In this article, we discuss the problem about the properties on solutions for several types of q-difference equations and obtain some results on the exceptional values of transcendental meromorphic solutions fz with zero order, their q-differences Δqfz=fqz−fz, and divided differences Δqfz/fz. In addition, we also investigated the condition on the existence of rational solution for a class of q-difference equations. Our theorems are some extensions and supplement to those results given by Liu and Zhang and Qi and Yang.

To study the decision bias in newsvendor behavior, this paper introduces an opportunity loss minimization criterion into the newsvendor model with backordering. We apply the Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) measure to hedge against the potential risks from newsvendor’s order decision. We obtain the optimal order quantities for a newsvendor to minimize the expected opportunity loss and CVaR of opportunity loss. It is proven that the newsvendor’s optimal order quantity is related to the density function of market demand when the newsvendor exhibits risk-averse preference, which is inconsistent with the results in Schweitzer and Cachon (2000). The numerical example shows that the optimal order quantity that minimizes CVaR of opportunity loss is bigger than expected profit maximization (EPM) order quantity for high-profit products and smaller than EPM order quantity for low-profit products, which is different from the experimental results in Schweitzer and Cachon (2000). A sensitivity analysis of changing the operation parameters of the two optimal order quantities is discussed. Our results confirm that high return implies high risk, while low risk comes with low return. Based on the results, some managerial insights are suggested for the risk management of the newsvendor model with backordering.

The characteristic functions of differential-difference polynomials are investigated, and the result can be viewed as a differential-difference analogue of the classic Valiron-Mokhon’ko Theorem in some sense and applied to investigate the deficiencies of some homogeneous or nonhomogeneous differential-difference polynomials. Some special differential-difference polynomials are also investigated and these results on the value distribution can be viewed as differential-difference analogues of some classic results of Hayman and Yang. Examples are given to illustrate our results at the end of this paper.

The purpose of this paper is to deal with the shared set and uniqueness of meromorphic functions on annulus. The set of this paper is different from the set of the paper by Cao and Deng, and our theorems are improvement of the results given by Cao and Deng.
