Abstract Sol–gel processed zinc oxide (ZnO) is one of the most widely used electron transport layers (ETLs) in inverted organic solar cells (OSCs). The high annealing temperature (≈200 °C) required for sintering to ensure a high electron mobility however results in severe damage to flexible substrates. Thus, flexible organic solar cells based on sol–gel processed ZnO exhibit significantly lower efficiency than rigid devices. In this paper, an indium‐doping approach is developed to improve the optoelectronic properties of ZnO layers and reduce the required annealing temperature. Inverted OSCs based on In‐doped ZnO (IZO) exhibit a higher efficiency than those based on ZnO for a range of different active layer systems. For the PM6:L8‐BO system, the efficiency increases from 17.0% for the pristine ZnO‐based device to 17.8% for the IZO‐based device. The IZO‐based device with an active layer of PM6:L8‐BO:BTP‐eC9 exhibits an even higher efficiency of up to 18.1%. In addition, a 1.2‐micrometer‐thick inverted ultrathin flexible organic solar cell is fabricated based on the IZO ETL that achieves an efficiency of 17.0% with a power‐per‐weight ratio of 40.4 W g−1, which is one of the highest efficiency for ultrathin (less than 10 micrometers) flexible organic solar cells.

Abstract When Australia deploys tools of statecraft in attempts to develop influence with Pacific Island neighbours, inherent colonial legacies exist which are not always recognised, but ultimately affect relationships. We examine Australian economic tools of statecraft applied to migration, trade and development aid, and how a colonial ‘logic of habit’ persists within their deployment which unintentionally undermines their effectiveness. In highlighting these historical hangovers, we suggest reimagining Australiaʼs perceptions of and relations with the Pacific—from neighbours with resources to be utilised, to mutually respected trading partners.

Objective To assess outcomes related to Lupus Therapeutics’ Patient Advocates for Lupus Studies (LT‐PALS), a peer‐to‐peer lupus clinical trial (LCT) education program designed to improve representation of diverse groups in LCTs. Patients with lupus and clinical trial participation experience were trained as peer educators (PALs) providing trial‐agnostic education to trial‐naive patients with lupus. Methods We used a two‐arm, randomized pretest/posttest study design to evaluate outcomes related to LCT participation: knowledge, attitudes, self‐efficacy, and intentions to participate in an LCT. Five academic medical centers piloted the program. The intervention group (IG) individually received peer‐to‐peer education sessions with trained PALs, primarily via telephone; the control group (CG) received a 3‐week waiting period. We conducted within/between‐group t‐tests and multiple linear regressions with posttest scores as dependent variables and participation in LT‐PALS as the exposure variable. Background Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Prior research suggests that social determinants of health have a compounding effect on health and are associated with cardiovascular disease. This scoping review explores what and how social determinants of health data are being used to address cardiovascular disease and improve health equity. Methods and Results After removing duplicate citations, the initial search yielded 4110 articles for screening, and 50 studies were identified for data extraction. Most studies relied on similar data sources for social determinants of health, including geocoded electronic health record data, national survey responses, and census data, and largely focused on health care access and quality, and the neighborhood and built environment. Most focused on developing interventions to improve health care access and quality or characterizing neighborhood risk and individual risk. Conclusions Given that few interventions addressed economic stability, education access and quality, or community context and social risk, the potential for harnessing social determinants of health data to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease remains unrealized.

Abstract This letter presents a circuit for powering cascode gate driver circuits with super‐junction (SJ) MOSFETs in a bridge‐leg. The cascode gate driver gives inherent MOSFET intrinsic diode deactivation, and the bridge‐leg incorporates an inductive turn‐on snubber which controls the charging currents into the MOSFETs’ output capacitances. The cascode driver circuits and snubber inductor are configured such that the gate‐drive energy is derived from the power stage.

Abstract The molecular orientations of conjugated materials on the substrate mainly include edge‐on, face‐on, and end‐on. Edge‐on and face‐on orientations have been widely observed, while end‐on orientation has been rarely reported. Since in organic solar cells (OSCs) charge transport is along the vertical direction, end‐on orientation with conjugated backbones perpendicular to the substrate is recognized as the ideal microstructure for OSCs. In this work, we for the first time obtained the preferential end‐on orientation in a conjugated molecular dyad that contains a conjugated backbone as donor and perylene bisimide side units as acceptor. This was realized by introducing a fused‐ring structure to replace linear terthiophenes with conjugated backbones, yielding F‐MDPBI and L‐MDPBI respectively. Surprisingly, a shifting trend of the molecular orientation from dominating edge‐on in L‐MDPBI to preferential end‐on in F‐MDPBI was observed. As a consequence, vertical charge carrier mobilities in F‐MDPBI are one order of magnitude higher than those with preferential edge‐on orientation, so single‐component OSCs based on this molecular dyad as a single photoactive layer provided a power conversion efficiency of 4.89% compared to 1.70% based on L‐MDPBI with preferential edge‐on orientation.

Abstract This paper outlines progress of the Copernicus Climate Change Service's (C3S) Global Land and Marine Observations Database service in securing data sources and introduces the data upload component. We present details of land and marine data holdings inventoried, highlighting priority needs in terms of periods, regions and Essential Climate Variables (ECVs) where additional data could bring most benefit. These holdings are being iteratively merged and integrated to best meet user needs and are served to the user via the Copernicus Climate Data Store (CDS). The secure Data Upload Server enables any data provider to share additional data and metadata with the service. We outline the process for registering as a data provider and how data sets are prioritized for integration. We encourage all data owners to share their data with the C3S service via our Data Upload Server. All unique and relevant data acquired or submitted will be also archived at the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information World Data Center for Meteorology, Asheville, North Carolina, USA and used in their database curation efforts which are being jointly developed.

Abstract Organic solar cells (OSCs) based on polymer donor and non‐fullerene acceptor achieve power conversion efficiency (PCE) more than 19% but their poor absorption below 550 nm restricts the harvesting of high‐energy photons. In contrast, wide bandgap all‐inorganic perovskites limit the absorption of low‐energy photons and cause serious below bandgap loss. Therefore, a 2‐terminal (2T) monolithic perovskite/organic tandem solar cell (TSC) incorporating wide bandgap CsPbI2Br is demonstrated as front cell absorber and organic PM6:Y6 blend as rear cell absorber, to extend the absorption of OSCs into high‐energy photon region. The perovskite sub‐cell, featuring a sol–gel prepared ZnO/SnO2 bilayer electron transporting layer, renders a high open‐circuit voltage (VOC). The VOC is further enhanced by employing thermal annealing (TA)‐free process in the fabrication of rear sub‐cell, demonstrating a record high VOC of 2.116 V. The TA‐free Ag/PFN‐Br interface in organic sub‐cell facilitates charge transport and restrains nonradiative recombination. Consequently, a remarkable PCE of 20.6% is achieved in monolithic 2T‐TSCs configuration, which is higher than that of both reported single junction and tandem OSCs, demonstrating that tandem with wide bandgap all‐inorganic perovskite is a promising strategy to improve the efficiency of OSCs.

Background. People with Multiple Sclerosis (pwMS) prioritise gait as the most valuable function to be affected by MS. Physiotherapy plays a key role in managing gait impairment in MS. There is little evidence on the effectiveness of physiotherapy for severe MS. Objective. To undertake a systematic review and meta-analysis of the literature to identify evidence for the effectiveness of physiotherapy for gait impairment in severe MS. Methods. The available literature was systematically searched, using a predetermined protocol, to identify research studies investigating a physiotherapy intervention for mobility in people with severe MS (EDSS≥6.0). Data on mobility related endpoints was extracted. Meta-analysis was performed where a given mobility end point was reported in at least 3 studies. Results. 37 relevant papers were identified, which included 788 pwMS. Seven mobility-related endpoints were meta-analysed. Robot-Assisted Gait Training (RAGT) was found to improve performance on the 6-minute walk test, 10-metre walk test, fatigue severity scale, and Berg Balance Scale. Neither body weight supported training nor conventional walking training significantly improved any mobility-related outcomes. Conclusion. Physiotherapy interventions are feasible for mobility in severe MS. There is some evidence for the effectiveness of RAGT.

Abstract Shallow slip on the plate‐boundary fault during the 2004 Mw 9.2 Aceh‐Andaman Earthquake, offshore North Sumatra, has been linked to thick incoming sediments on the oceanic plate with advanced diagenetic and sediment property changes at the depths of plate boundary fault development. We couple age control, physical, and thermal property measurements from International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) drilling with multichannel seismic reflection data to reconstruct the thermal structure and evolution of the incoming sediment column, up to the point of accretion/subduction. Lithospheric thermal rejuvenation around 58 Ma is required to explain anomalously high heat flux at IODP Site U1480, and heat flux within the trench is suppressed by very high sediment accumulation rates during the development of a thick trench wedge. Accumulation of up to ∼4.5 km of thick Nicobar Fan and trench wedge sediments produces temperatures >150°C within the basal sediments where the décollement develops, resulting in total pre‐subduction diagenetic dehydration of basal sediments. The smectite‐illite transformation within these basal sediments produces sufficient fluid to explain a polarity reversal on a pre‐décollement reflector. We suggest that the boundary between basal‐pelagic and siliciclastic‐fan sediments has trapped fluid over the last ∼1 Myr, as a result of primary lithological properties, diagenetic fluid release, and cementation, controlling décollement formation at this weakened level. Pre‐subduction dehydration of large portions of the accreted sediment column strengthens the décollement beneath the prism, extending co‐seismic velocity‐weakening behavior close to the trench, which may occur at other subduction zones with similar sediment compositions, thicknesses, and/or temperatures.

Abstract The term Anthropocene initially emerged from the Earth System science community in the early 2000s, denoting a concept that the Holocene Epoch has terminated as a consequence of human activities. First associated with the onset of the Industrial Revolution, it was then more closely linked with the Great Acceleration in industrialization and globalization from the 1950s that fundamentally modified physical, chemical, and biological signals in geological archives. Since 2009, the Anthropocene has been evaluated by the Anthropocene Working Group, tasked with examining it for potential inclusion in the Geological Time Scale. Such inclusion requires a precisely defined chronostratigraphic and geochronological unit with a globally synchronous base and inception, with the mid‐twentieth century being geologically optimal. This reflects an Earth System state in which human activities have become predominant drivers of modifications to the stratigraphic record, making it clearly distinct from the Holocene. However, more recently, the term Anthropocene has also become used for different conceptual interpretations in diverse scholarly fields, including the environmental and social sciences and humanities. These are often flexibly interpreted, commonly without reference to the geological record, and diachronous in time; they often extend much further back in time than the mid‐twentieth century. These broader conceptualizations encompass wide ranges and levels of human impacts and interactions with the environment. Here, we clarify what the Anthropocene is in geological terms and compare the proposed geological (chronostratigraphic) definition with some of these broader interpretations and applications of the term “Anthropocene,” showing both their overlaps and differences.
