Abstract The asymmetric calibration method is a very interesting technology for differential output probes. It has been proven that the asymmetric calibration method (ACM) can broaden the application scenarios of the electromagnetic field dual probe. However, ACM is not verified on a back‐to‐back double‐loop differential magnetic field probing system. This paper calibrates a back‐to‐back double‐loop differential magnetic field probing system by inserting a connector for creating an asymmetry using ACM. The calibration results show that ACM can be used to calibrate an asymmetric back‐to‐back double‐loop differential magnetic field probing system. The calibration results are further verified by measuring the standing wave magnetic field, and the verification results show that the asymmetric calibration method is effective in eliminating the asymmetry of the back‐to‐back double‐loop differential magnetic field probing system and the work frequency band reaches up to 12 GHz.

Abstract Objective Multiple myeloma (MM) is the leading indication of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence of mobilization failure and characterize the risk factors associated with poor mobilization (PM) of MM patients in novel therapies era. Methods We conducted a retrospective study of 211 MM patients who received their first peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) mobilization at our single center. The following data were collected: age, gender, clinical stage, disease status, complete blood cell count, induction regimen, CD34+ cell count in peripheral blood (PB), and PBSC collections. Results In addition to conventional drugs, 22 (10.4%) patients received daratumumab containing induction, and 33 (15.6%) patients used plerixafor for poor mobilization (pre‐apheresis PB CD34+ cells 41 g/L before mobilization, and steady‐state mobilization were risk factors for PM in subgroups of patients treated with lenalidomide for

Abstract Aim To explore the nursing workforce allocation in intensive care units (ICUs) of COVID‐19‐designated hospitals during the epidemic peak in China. Design A nationwide cross‐sectional online survey. Methods A total of 37 head nurses and 262 frontline nurses in 37 ICUs of COVID‐19‐designated tertiary hospitals located in 22 cities of China were surveyed. The self‐reported human resource allocation questionnaire was used to assess the nursing workforce allocation. Results The average patient‐to‐nurse ratio was 1.89 ± 1.14, and the median working hours per shift was 5 h. The top four majors of front‐line nurses in ICUs were respiratory (31.30%), lemology (27.86%), intensive care (21.76%) and emergency (17.18%). We also found that a smaller average patient‐to‐nurse ratio (odds ratio [OR]: 0.328, 95% CI: 0.108, 1.000), longer average weekly rest time per person (OR: 0.193, 95% CI: 0.051, 0.729) and larger proportion of 6–9 working years (OR: 0.002, 95% CI: 0.001, 1.121) decreased the occurrence of nursing adverse events.

Abstract The inversion of remote sensing signatures of internal solitary waves (ISWs) can retrieve dynamic characteristics in the ocean interior. However, the presence of ubiquitous large‐amplitude ISWs poses challenges to the commonly used weakly nonlinear methods for parameter retrieval. Through laboratory experiments, we establish a relationship between surface features and internal characteristics of ISWs by the remote sensing imaging mechanism. The results demonstrate that strong nonlinearity significantly influences the retrieval of ISWs, primarily manifested in the calculation of wave‐induced velocities and the applicability of ISW solutions. A fully nonlinear model Dubreil–Jacotin–Long equation is used in the retrieval and has been tested under different conditions. Mooring observations indicate that the determination of ISW parameters from satellite images is affected by the complexity of in situ stratification, but additional remote sensing information such as surface velocities enables us to perform retrievals even if the real‐time measurement of pycnocline depth is not available.

Abstract Cell fusion plays a critical role in cancer progression and metastasis. However, effective modulation of the cell fusion behavior and timely evaluation on the cell fusion to provide accurate information for personalized therapy are facing challenges. Here, it demonstrates that the cancer cell fusion behavior can be efficiently modulated and precisely detected through employing a multifunctional delivery vector to realize cancer targeting delivery of a genome editing plasmid and a molecular beacon‐based AND logic gate. The multifunctional delivery vector decorated by AS1411 conjugated hyaluronic acid and NLS‐GE11 peptide conjugated hyaluronic acid can specifically target circulating malignant cells (CMCs) of cancer patients to deliver the genome editing plasmid for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) knockout. The cell fusion between CMCs and endothelial cells can be detected by the AND logic gate delivered by the multifunctional vector. After EGFR knockout, the edited CMCs exhibit dramatically inhibited cell fusion capability, while unedited CMCs can easily fuse with human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) to form hybrid cells. This study provides a new therapeutic strategy for preventing cancer progression and a reliable tool for evaluating cancer cell fusion for precise personalized therapy.

The expression level of retinol‐binding protein 4 (RBP4) protein is closely related to liver damage and plays an important role in the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer. However, the preparation of anti‐RBP4 mAb or exploration on the application of anti‐RBP4 mAb has not been reported thus far. In the present study, we constructed a pET30a‐RBP4 recombinant vector, used E. coli BL21 (DE3) as the vector to express the RBP4 recombinant protein and prepared anti‐RBP4 mAb using hybridoma technology. We performed immunohistochemical analysis on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and adjacent tissues by using this anti‐RBP4 mAb. In addition to the high‐purity RBP4 recombinant protein, we successfully developed the anti‐RBP4 mAb with high affinity and specificity; it binds to natural RBP4 protein and is suitable for immunohistochemical analysis.

Abstract This paper develops an active magnetic near field probe (H‐field probe) by using a four‐layer printed circuit board (PCB) technique. Two‐turn detection structure and a low noise amplifier are used to improve probe's frequency response. The two‐turn detection structure can maximize the use of PCB stack resources, and a 14.5 dB gain amplifier can increase signal output capability. The probe can then be used for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test from 150 kHz to 3 GHz. Compared with traditional active shielded‐loop H‐field probe (TAHP) with loop area of 500 μm2, the frequency response of the proposed probe can improve 20 dB at 0.5 GHz. Different from the method of comparing the sensitivity of the probe only through the frequency response, this paper measures and analyzes the real sensitivity of the probing device composed of the proposed probe. Under the condition of the same receiver parameter setting, the sensitivity at 0.5 GHz is increased by 11.7 dB compared with commercial passive probing device and 20.2 dB at 0.5 GHz compared with the probing device with TAHP device. It reaches −32.4 dB μA. In addition, the proposed probe has acceptable spatial resolution of 1.28 mm at 1 GHz, which is more suitable for printed circuit board level EMI analysis.

Abstract Recent evidence has indicated that overexpression of the epigenetic reader bromodomain‐containing protein 4 (BRD4) contributes to a poor prognosis of lung cancers, and the suppression of its expression promotes cell apoptosis and leads to tumor shrinkage. Proteolysis targeting chimera (PROTAC) has recently emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy with the capability to precisely degrade targeted proteins. Herein, a novel style of versatile nano‐PROTAC (CREATE (CRV‐LLC membrane/DS‐PLGA/dBET6)) is developed, which is constructed by using a pH/GSH (glutathione)‐responsive polymer (disulfide bond‐linked poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic acid), DS‐PLGA) to load BRD4‐targeted PROTAC (dBET6), followed by the camouflage with engineered lung cancer cell membranes with dual targeting capability. Notably, CREATE remarkably confers simultaneous targeting ability to lung cancer cells and tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs). The pH/GSH‐responsive design improves the release of dBET6 payload from nanoparticles to induce pronounced apoptosis of both cells, which synergistically inhibits tumor growth in both subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor‐bearing mouse model. Furthermore, the efficient tumor inhibition is due to the direct elimination of lung cancer cells and TAMs, which remodels the tumor microenvironment. Taken together, the results elucidate the construction of a versatile nano‐PROTAC enables to eliminate both lung cancer cells and TAMs, which opens a new avenue for efficient lung cancer therapy via PROTAC.

Abstract Tumor heterogeneity is primarily responsible for treatment resistance and cancer relapses. Being critically important to address this issue, the timely evaluation of the appropriateness of therapeutic actions at the single‐cell level is still facing challenges. By using multi‐functionalized nano‐systems with the delivery vector composed of histone for plasmids loading, hyaluronic acid for tumor targeting, and a fusion peptide for C‐X‐C motif chemokine receptor 4 (CXCR4） targeting as well as nuclear localization, the reprogramming of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with in situ detection on biomarkers at the single‐cell level is realized. By efficient co‐delivery of the genome editing plasmid for CXCR4 knockout and molecular beacons for detection of upregulated mRNA biomarkers into CTCs in unprocessed whole blood, the therapeutic outcomes of genome editing at the single‐cell level can be in situ evaluated. The single‐cell analysis shows that CXCR4 in CTCs of cancer patients is efficiently downregulated, resulting in upregulated anticancer biomarkers such as p53 and p21. The study provides a facile strategy for in‐depth profiling of cancer cell responses to therapeutic actions at single‐cell resolution to evaluate the outcomes of treatments timely and conveniently.

Objective To analyze the risk factors of elbow stiffness following open reduction and internal fixation of the terrible triad of the elbow joint. Methods A retrospective study was conducted of 100 patients with the terrible triad of the elbow joint, who had been treated at our hospital from January 2015 to December 2018. All patients were treated with a loop plate to repair the ulnar coronoid process. According to the severity of the injury, the radial head was either fixed or replaced, and the lateral collateral ligament was repaired with an anchor. According to the range of motion of the elbow during the last follow‐up, the patients were divided into two groups. The stiffness group (displayed extension–flexion or pronation–supination 1 week (OR = 2.714, 95% CI 1.029–7.159, P = 0.044), and postoperative immobilization time (OR = 3.237, 95% CI 1.176–8.908, P = 0.023) were independent risk factors of elbow stiffness after surgery for the terrible triad of the elbow. Conclusion High‐energy injury, the time from injury to surgery > 1 week, and postoperative joint immobilization time > 2 weeks are the independent risk factors of elbow stiffness after surgery of the terrible triad of the elbow, which should be treated carefully in clinical treatment.

Abstract A magnetic near‐field probe (H‐field probe) with dual output has been developed using a four‐layer printed circuit board (PCB) technique. To achieve the improvement of detection sensitivity, the symmetrical double‐loop is adopted to double the detection signal while suppressing the electric field coupling, which is also illustrated in a circuit model. The calibration factor (defined as the ratio of the external magnetic field to the induced response voltage of the probe) of the proposed H‐field probe reaches 37.74 [dB (A/m)/V] at 0.5 GHz with the loop area of 0.8 mm2, resulting in a better sensitivity than the single‐loop probe. For the suppression of unwanted electric field a floating shield is added to the bottom of the probe, leading to an excellent common electric field suppression ratio of 29 dB in the frequency range up to 10 GHz. The probe is also characterised by parameters such as high differential electric field suppression, spatial resolution and probe influence on the device under test.

Abstract Objective To examine whether apolipoprotein B (ApoB), apolipoprotein A‐1 (ApoA1), or their ratio (ApoB/A1) were associated with early changes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) pathology in elderly adults with subjective cognitive decline (SCD). Methods This study included 507 objective cognitive normal participants from the Chinese Alzheimer’s Biomarker and LifestylE (CABLE) database including 288 cognitive normal participants (CN) and 219 SCD. Multiple linear regression models were used to examine the associations of apolipoproteins with CSF AD biomarkers. Results Compared with control group, SCD participants with significant AD biological characteristics had lower ApoB levels (P = 0.0461). In total participants, lower level of serum ApoB was associated with decreases in CSF Aβ42 (P = 0.0015) and Aβ42/40 (P = 0.0081) as well as increases in CSF p‐tau/Aβ42 (P

Objective To analyze the relationship between the length from injury to first debridement (LFITFD) of open tibial fractures and perioperative infection, and explore independent risk factors related to infection. Methods This retrospective study focused on 215 clinical patients with open tibial fractures who were admitted from January 2012 to January 2017. According to the time from injury to the operation, the patients were categorized into four groups: LFITFD ≤ 6 h, 6 < LFITFD ≤ 12 h, 12 < LFITFD≤24 h, and (LFITFD > 24 h). Infection risk factors were screened by univariate analysis, and multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine independent risk factors. Results The infection rates of four groups were 9.2%, 9.5%, 11.1%, and 10.5% with six of 65, nine of 95, four of 36, and two of 19 patients being infected, respectively. There was no statistical significance between the four groups. The infection rates among fractures of different Gustilo–Anderson classifications were as follows. Of 62 cases of type I fractures, two were infected, and the infection rate was 3.2%. Among those with type II fractures, eight were infected, and the infection rate was 8.2%. Three of 26 cases of type IIIA fracture were infected, yielding an infection rate of 11.5%, seven of 25 cases of type III B fracture were infected (28% infection rate), and one of four cases of type III C fracture was infected (25% infection rate). There was a statistically significant difference between the five groups. Multivariate regression analysis showed that smoking, combined diabetes, surgical time, and fracture Gustilo–Anderson classification were independent risk factors for perioperative infection of open tibial fractures, and the difference in time from injury to first debridement was not related to infection. Conclusion The incidence of perioperative infection in patients with open tibial fractures has little to do with the time of the first debridement, which is mainly related to the level of the fracture's Gustilo–Anderson classification. At the same time, smoking is prohibited before the operation, the patient's blood glucose is managed, and the debridement operation time is minimized conducive to reducing the incidence of infection.

Background. Acne is the most common chronic inflammatory disease of hair follicles and sebaceous glands in dermatology. Hyperplastic scar (HS), a very common sequelae of acne, is also the most common scar type in clinical practice. Objective. This research analyzed the clinical effectiveness and safety of pulsed dye laser (PDL) combined with pingyangmycin (PI) in the treatment of post-acne HS. Methods. One hundred and nine patients with post-acne HS admitted in June 2020 were selected and divided into a research group (n=52) and a control group (n=57) according to the difference in treatment methods. The efficacy, incidence of adverse reactions, skin repair, treatment comfort, and satisfaction were compared between groups. Results. The total effective rate was higher in the research group compared with the control group. No statistical difference was observed between groups in the incidence of adverse reactions. The research group showed better scar repair, skin improvement, and granulation tissue maturity than the control group. And compared with the control group, the growth factor of the research group was lower, while the treatment comfort and satisfaction, psychological state, and prognosis quality of life were higher. The two groups showed no notable difference in the recurrence rate. Conclusions. PDL combined with PI can effectively improve the clinical efficacy, scar repair effect, overall skin status, and treatment experience of patients and boost the psychological state and prognostic quality of life of patients, which has great clinical application prospect for the treatment of HS.

Background. Visceral adiposity plays a key role in the development of insulin resistance (IR), so surrogate index that can indicate visceral obesity may have higher predictive value for IR. This study aimed to establish and validate a new predictive model including indicator of visceral obesity for IR. Methods. The study population consisted of two cohorts. The derivation cohort was a group of 667 patients with newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and the population undergoing a routine health checkup was the validation cohort. The predictive model was established by the logistic regression analysis. Its value for predicting IR was compared with other surrogate indices by the receiver operating characteristic curve. Results. The odds ratio (OR) of age, visceral fat area (VFA), triglyceride (TG), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) for IR was 1.028 (95% CI, 1.008–1.048) (P

This paper presents a new approach to determine the number of solutions of three-variable Frobenius-related problems and to find their solutions by using order reducing methods. Here, the order of a Frobenius-related problem means the number of variables appearing in the problem. We present two types of order reduction methods that can be applied to the problem of finding all nonnegative solutions of three-variable Frobenius-related problems. The first method is used to reduce the equation of order three from a three-variable Frobenius-related problem to be a system of equations with two fixed variables. The second method reduces the equation of order three into three equations of order two, for which an algorithm is designed with an interesting open problem on solutions left as a conjecture.

Abstract Sarcopenia is a complex polygenic disease, and its molecular mechanism is still unclear. Whole lean body mass (WLBM) is a heritable trait predicting sarcopenia. To identify genomic loci underlying, we performed a whole‐exome sequencing (WES) of WLBM variation with high sequencing depth (more than 40*) in 101 Chinese subjects. We then replicated in the major findings in the large‐scale UK Biobank (UKB) cohort (N = 217,822) for WLBM. The results of four single‐nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were significant both in the discovery stage and replication stage: SNP rs740681 (discovery p = 1.66 × 10–6, replication p = .05), rs2272303 (discovery p = 3.20 × 10–4, replication p = 3.10 × 10–4), rs11170413 (discovery p = 3.99 × 10–4, replication p = 2.90 × 10–4), and rs2272302 (discovery p = 9.13 × 10–4, replication p = 3.10 × 10–4). We combined p values of the significant SNPs. Functional annotations highlighted two candidate genes, including FZR1 and SOAT2, that may exert pleiotropic effects to the development of body mass. Our findings provide useful insights that further enhance our understanding of genetic interplay in sarcopenia.
