Summary This paper studies the problem of output feedback stabilization for a class of stochastic feedforward nonlinear systems with state and input delays and the unknown output function. For stochastic feedforward nonlinear systems, the maximal open sector Δ of output function is given. As long as output function belongs to any closed sector included in Δ, by constructing a reduced-order observer and C2 Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and using the homogeneous domination method, an output feedback controller can be developed to guarantee the closed-loop system globally asymptotically stable in probability.

Summary This paper deals with the problem of continuous output-feedback stabilization for a class of switched high-order planar systems under arbitrary switchings. Based on the common Lyapunov function design method, by using the adding a power integrator technique and designing an implementable observer, a continuous output-feedback controller is constructed such that the closed-loop system is global stabilization and the output can be regulated to the origin. As an application, the developed strategy is utilized to the control design for the continuous stirred tank reactor with two modes feed stream. Summary This paper considers semi-global output feedback control for more general nonlinear systems with unknown time-delay and output function whose derivative is unbounded from above. By introducing a new observer and using the backstepping design method and the Razumikhin stability theorem, an output feedback controller is constructed to achieve a semi-global stability. This paper considers the problem of global finite-time stabilization in probability for stochastic high-order nonlinear systems in which the power order is greater than or equal to one and the drift and diffusion terms satisfy weaker growth conditions. Based on stochastic Lyapunov theorem on finite-time stability, via the combined adding one power integrator and sign function method, constructing a C2 Lyapunov function and verifying the existence and uniqueness of solution, a continuous state feedback controller is designed to guarantee the closed-loop system globally finite-time stable in probability.

Summary This paper considers the global finite-time output feedback stabilization of a class of nonlinear high-order feedforward systems. By using the homogeneous domination method together with adding a power integrator method and overcoming several troublesome obstacles in the design and analysis, a global finite-time output feedback controller with reduced-order observer is recursively designed to globally finite-time stabilize nonlinear high-order feedforward systems. SUMMARY This paper considers the problem of output feedback stabilization for a class of stochastic feedforward nonlinear systems with input and state delay. Under a set of coordinate transformations, we first design a linear output feedback controller for a nominal system. Then, with the aid of feedback domination technique and an appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, it is proved that the proposed linear output feedback controller can drive the closed-loop system globally asymptotically stable in probability. Summary This paper focuses on global adaptive state-feedback stabilization for a class of high-order uncertain nonlinear systems with multiple delays. Restriction on system growth is relaxed. Two dynamic gains are introduced to deal with uncertainty and nonlinear growth rate of the system. Without precise information about time-delay being needed and only by like Lyapunov function, a new control strategy is presented based on homogeneous domination idea and two necessary transformations. In this paper, we consider the problem of decentralized adaptive output-feedback regulation for stochastic nonlinear interconnected systems with unknown virtual control coefficients, stochastic unmodeled dynamic interactions. The main contributions of the paper are as follows: (1) This paper presents the first result on decentralized output-feedback control for stochastic nonlinear systems with unknown virtual control coefficients; (2) For stochastic interconnected systems with stochastic integral input-to-state stable unmodeled dynamics, and more general nonlinear uncertain interconnections which depend upon the outputs of subsystems and the stochastic unmodeled dynamics, a decentralized output-feedback controller is designed to drive the outputs and states to the origin almost surely. This paper further considers a more general class of stochastic nonlinear systems with stochastic integral input-to-state stability (SiISS) inverse dynamics and drift and diffusion terms depending upon the other states besides stochastic inverse dynamics and the first state. By skillfully choosing the designed functions and the update laws of parameters, and using the important mathematical tools established in IEEE Trans. Automat. Contr. 2010; 55(2):304–320, a unifying framework of state feedback controller is proposed to guarantee that all the signals of the closed-loop system are bounded almost surely and the states can be regulated to zero almost surely. In this paper, for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems in the presence of inverse dynamics, output unmodeled dynamics and nonlinear uncertainties, a robust adaptive output-feedback controller design is proposed by combining small-gain theorem, changing supply function techniques with backstepping methods. It is shown that all the signals of the closed-loop system are uniformly bounded in biased case, and the output can be regulated to a small neighborhood of the origin in unbiased case. Furthermore, under some additional assumptions, an asymptotical result is obtained.

For a class of high-order stochastic nonlinear systems with stochastic inverse dynamics which are neither necessarily feedback linearizable nor affine in the control input, this paper investigates the problem of state-feedback stabilization for the first time. Under some weaker assumptions, a smooth state-feedback controller is designed, which ensures that the closed-loop system has an almost surely unique solution on [0, ∞), the equilibrium at the origin of the closed-loop system is globally asymptotically stable in probability, and the states can be regulated to the origin almost surely.
