Flexible and miniaturized photodetectors, offering a fast response across the ultraviolet (UV) to millimeter (MM) wave spectrum, are crucial for applications like healthcare monitoring and wearable optoelectronics. Despite their potential, developing such photodetectors faces challenges due to the lack of suitable materials and operational mechanisms. Here, the study proposes a flexible photodetector composed of a monolayer graphene connected by two distinct metal electrodes. Through the photothermoelectric effect, these asymmetric electrodes induce electron flow within the graphene channel upon electromagnetic wave illumination, resulting in a compact device with ultra‐broadband and rapid photoresponse. The devices, with footprints ranging from 3 × 20 µm2 to 50 × 20 µm2, operate across a spectrum from 325 nm (UV) to 1.19 mm (MM) wave. They demonstrate a responsivity (RV) of up to 396.4 ± 5.1 mV W−1, a noise‐equivalent power (NEP) of 8.6 ± 0.1 nW Hz−0.5, and a response time as small as 0.8 ± 0.1 ms. This device facilitates direct imaging of shielded objects and material differentiation under simulated human body‐wearing conditions. The straightforward device architecture, aligned with its ultra‐broadband operational frequency range, is anticipated to hold significant implications for the development of miniaturized, wearable, and portable photodetectors. In this paper, an optimal planning strategy is proposed for EV charging stations by considering travel demand based on non‐cooperative game theory. In the proposed methodology, a realistic and stochastic charging demand distribution was obtained with the travel chain of an EV and the associated probability density function. Based on the charging demand of EV owners and a multi‐operator scenario, a two‐stage effective and practical charging station planning model was established. The first stage of the planning model optimized the location of charging stations to decrease the total deadhead mileage of the EVs with the cooperation of the charging station operators. In the second stage, the operators were committed to increasing their economic benefits by developing a charging station capacity strategy in the framework of the non‐cooperative game. Furthermore, the combination of an adaptive mutation particle swarm optimization algorithm (AMPSO) and approximate Nash equilibrium had a better effect in reducing the difficulty of solving the game model and obtaining an optimal planning strategy. Finally, the results of the case study demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed methodology for improving the charging experience of the EV owners and achieving a balance of benefits among multiple charging station operators. Lesion mimic mutants resembling the hypersensitive response without pathogen attack are an ideal material to understand programmed cell death, the defence response, and the cross‐talk between defence response and development in plants. In this study, mic, a lesion mimic mutant from cultivar Yunyin treated with ethyl methanesulphonate (EMS), was screened. By map‐based cloning, a short‐chain alcohol dehydrogenase/reductase with an atypical active site HxxxK was isolated and designated as SDR7‐6. It functions as a homomultimer in rice and is localized at the endoplasmic reticulum. The lesion mimic phenotype of the mutant is light‐dependent. The mutant displayed an increased resistance response to bacterial blight, but reduced resistance to rice blast disease. The mutant and knockout lines showed increased reactive oxygen species, jasmonic acid content, antioxidant enzyme activity, and expression of pathogenicity‐related genes, while chlorophyll content was significantly reduced. The knockout lines showed significant reduction in grain size, seed setting rate, 1000‐grain weight, grain weight per plant, panicle length, and plant height. SDR7‐6 is a new lesion mimic gene that encodes a short‐chain alcohol dehydrogenase with atypical catalytic site. Disruption of SDR7‐6 led to cell death and had adverse effects on multiple agricultural characters. SDR7‐6 may act at the interface of the two defence pathways of bacterial blight and rice blast disease in rice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drug relapse among addicts often occurs due to the learned association between drug-paired cues and the rewarding effects of these drugs, such as morphine. Contextual memory associated with morphine has a central role in maintenance and relapse. We showed that morphine-conditioned place preference (CPP) activates extracellular-regulated protein kinase (ERK) in the nucleus accumbens (NAc). The main enzymes that mediate ERK dephosphorylation are members of the dual-specificity phosphatase (DUSP) superfamily. It is unclear which members regulate the morphine CPP-induced activation of ERK. After screening, DUSP15 was found to be decreased during both morphine CPP expression and the reinstatement period. Intra-NAc infusions of AAV-DUSP15 (overexpression) not only prevented the expression of morphine-induced CPP but also facilitated extinction, inhibited reinstatement, and abolished ERK activation. However, after repeated morphine exposure and withdrawal in mice, there was no change in the expression of p-ERK and DUSP15, and the overexpression of DUSP15 in the NAc did not improve the impaired spatial memory or anxiety-like behaviour induced by morphine. Together, these findings indicate that DUSP15 not only prevents the expression of drug-paired contextual memory but also promotes the extinction of existing addiction memories, thus providing a novel therapeutic target for the treatment of drug addiction. Lipid peroxidation plays a major role in seed longevity and viability. In rice grains, lipid peroxidation is catalyzed by the enzyme lipoxygenase 3 ( LOX3). Previous reports showed that grain from the rice variety Daw Dam in which the LOX3 gene was deleted had less stale flavour after grain storage than normal rice. The molecular mechanism by which LOX3 expression is regulated during endosperm development remains unclear. In this study, we expressed a LOX3 antisense construct in transgenic rice ( Oryza sativa L.) plants to down-regulate LOX3 expression in rice endosperm. The transgenic plants exhibited a marked decrease in LOX m RNA levels, normal phenotypes and a normal life cycle. We showed that LOX3 activity and its ability to produce 9-hydroperoxyoctadecadienoic acid (9- HPOD) from linoleic acid were significantly lower in transgenic seeds than in wild-type seeds by measuring the ultraviolet absorption of 9- HPOD at 234 nm and by high-performance liquid chromatography. The suppression of LOX3 expression in rice endosperm increased grain storability. The germination rate of TS-91 (antisense LOX3 transgenic line) was much higher than the WT (29% higher after artificial ageing for 21 days, and 40% higher after natural ageing for 12 months). To our knowledge, this is the first report to demonstrate that decreased LOX3 expression can preserve rice grain quality during storage with no impact on grain yield, suggesting potential applications in agricultural production. Summary Although thousands of genes have been identified or cloned in rice (Oryza sativa) in the last two decades, the majority of them have only been separately characterized in specific varieties or single‐gene modified backgrounds, thus limiting their practical application. We developed an optimized multiplex genome editing (MGE) toolbox that can efficiently assemble and stably express up to twelve sgRNA targets in a single plant expression vector. In this study, we established the MGE‐based Rapid Directional Improvement (MRDI) strategy for directional improvement of complex agronomic traits in one small‐scale rice transformation. This approach provides a rapid and practical procedure, encompassing sgRNA assembly, transgene‐free screening and the creation of promising germplasm, by combining the precision of gene editing with phenotype‐based field breeding. The MRDI strategy was used to generate the full diversity of twelve main agronomic genes in rice cultivar FXZ for the directional improvement of its growth duration and plant architecture. After applying the MRDI to FXZ, ideal plants with the desired traits of early heading date reduced plant height, and more effective panicles were generated without compromising yield, blast resistance and grain quality. Furthermore, the results of whole‐genome sequencing (WGS), including the analysis of structural variations (SVs) and single nucleotide variations (SNVs) in the MGE plants, confirmed the high specificity and low frequency of unwanted mutations associated with this strategy. The MRDI breeding strategy would be a robust approach for exploring and applying crucial agronomic genes, as well as for generating novel elite germplasm in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
