Normal fasting plasma glucose and risk of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes: the Isfahan diabetes prevention study. The present study demonstrated a nonlinear association between normal FPG and T2DM, and after the FPG level of 4.3 mmol/L, a significantly increased risk of T2DM was observed.
