Due to the development characteristics of low‐permeability reservoirs such as weak water absorption, slow development of water injection, and strong pressure sensitivity, the effect of water injection in low‐permeability reservoirs is quite different from that in medium and high‐permeability reservoirs. Therefore, in oilfield development, it is important to study the movement law of the waterflooding front in low‐permeability reservoirs. In this paper, taking the Jilin oilfield as an example, a geological model of Xinmin 23 Block was established for the numerical simulation analysis considering the heterogeneity of low‐permeability reservoirs. In addition, artificial cores were manufactured to conduct the physical experiment of the waterflood front advance of cores with different physical properties under the influence of various factors such as the fracture and the range by the constant‐velocity flooding. Based on the numerical simulation and the physical experiment, the movement law of the waterflood front was analyzed and a basic method for evaluating the waterflooding development in low‐permeability reservoirs was established to provide feasible insights for the waterflooding development in low‐permeability reservoirs. In this paper, numerical simulation and experimental studies were performed on the effect of the waterflooding development of Xinmin 23 Block in the Jilin oilfield. The evaluation results obtained were consistent with the actual oil production providing a theoretical basis for judging the accurate advance time from the waterflood front to the production well in actual oil production. The rapid development of farmers' cooperatives in rural China cannot be separated from government support. To ensure the growth of farmers' cooperatives, the Chinese government uses it as a key performance indicator for its local institutions. Superficially, rural China's cooperative population and membership size witnessed rapid growth during the first decade after the Farmers' Specialized Cooperatives Law was enacted in 2007; however, such government intervention also leads to non‐standard phenomena due to market distortion. Using nationally representative survey data from 504 cooperatives in Jiangsu, Jilin, and Sichuan provinces, this paper provides a reliable estimate of the "shell cooperative" rate around 2014. The empirical study sheds further light on the role of government during the period of rapid but chaotic growth by a subset containing 241 marketing cooperatives. Results show that direct administrative intervention leads to the emergence of many shell cooperatives (approximately 37%). Further study also confirms that task‐oriented policy support is only positively associated with the nominal coverage ratio but has no significant relationship with cooperatives' function. This study provides new insights into the formation of shell cooperatives and suggests that direct administrative intervention may not be a good strategy for promoting the sustainable development of farmers' cooperatives. This paper presents age and geochemical data of a recently identified Late Paleozoic volcanic sequence in central Jilin Province, with aims to discuss the petrogenesis and to constrain the tectonic evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt in this area. Firstly, the volcanic rocks have zircon U‐Pb ages of 290–270 Ma. Secondly, they are characterized by (a) ranging in composition from the low‐K tholeiite series to high‐K calc‐alkaline series; (b) enrichment in light rare earth elements and depletion of heavy rare earth elements, with negative Eu anomalies; and (c) negative Nb, Ta, and Ti anomalies. Finally, the volcanic rocks yield ∊Hf(t) values of +7.1 to +17. These data suggest that the central Jilin volcanic rocks were possibly derived from predominant partial melting of a depleted lithospheric mantle that might have been modified by subducted slab–derived fluids. Combined with previous studies, the Late Paleozoic–Early Mesozoic magmatism in Central Jilin can be divided into two stages: (a) a volcanic arc stage (290–270 Ma) represented by low‐K to high–K, tholeiite to calc–alkaline plutons and (b) a syn–collisional stage (260–240 Ma) represented by high‐K calc–alkaline I‐type granites. Furthermore, the timing and the tectonic setting of the above magmatic rocks show that the arc was probably produced by the northward subduction of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean and that the final closure of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean occurred prior to the Early Triassic. The Late Palaeozoic Solonker‐Xar Moron‐Changchun‐Yanji Suture (SXCYS) is considered to mark the location of the final closure of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean, which separated the North China Craton to the south and the amalgamated blocks to the north in Northeast China. There has always been controversy about its eastern extension in Northeast China and the final closure time of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean. To explore this issue, we collected gabbro and quartz‐diorite samples in the Hunchun area for the genesis of mafic magma and age dating, and five groups of Permian to Triassic sandstones belonging to both sides of the potential suture locations in the middle and east Jilin Province for the provenance analysis to discuss the final closure time of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean and the possible positions of the eastward termination of the SXCYS. The gabbro reveals a Middle Permian concordia average age of 266.9 ± 5.2 Ma, and the quartz diorite reveals a Late Permian Concordia average age of 258.8 ± 4.8 Ma. Lithological and geochemical analysis reveal the two rock samples belong to low‐K arc tholeiites from the oceanic island and calk‐alkaline volcanics from the active continental margin, respectively, which implies that during the middle to late Permian, the SW margin of the Jiamusi–Khanka Block (JB) continuously experienced the subduction process from the Paleo‐Asian Ocean Plate. The final closure time of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean should be later than the Late Permian. Meanwhile, four groups of sandstone from the east Jilin reveal typically Jiamusi–Mongolia Block (JMB) provenance features, with age components of ~500 Ma, ~0.9–1.5 Ga implying that the Wangqing, Hunchun, Kaishantun area belongs to the northern part of the SXCYS from late Early Permian to Middle Triassic, with youngest age components of 288.2 ± 2.8, 275.5 ± 1.8, 250 ± 1.7, and 244.9 ± 1.7 Ma, respectively. The late Early Permian sandstone from the middle Jilin reveals the youngest age component of 273.8 ± 3.4 Ma and the age component of 487 ± 3 Ma also revealing JMB feature. Comparing to previous studies, we propose that the Paleo‐Asian Ocean finally closed during Middle to Late Triassic. A possible ENE fault separates the eastern extension of SXCYS into two parts, which means the possible position of the eastward extension of the SXCYS should go along the Wangqing‐Kaishantun with NNW direction in the west, Hunchun‐Laoheishan with NW direction in the east. American ginseng (AG), the underground part of Panax quinquefolium L., is composed of four morphological regions, including main root (MR), lateral root (LR), fibrous root (FR), and rhizome (RH). In the clinical, MR is the main medicinal region, other regions are rarely attention. Aiming at revealing the chemical composition of AG and making better use of AG, screening analysis and metabolomic analysis were both performed to profile MR, LR, FR, and RH. First, in the systematical screening analysis, a total of 134 compounds (including 122 shared components) with various structural patterns were identified and tentatively characterized. The results indicated that the phytochemicals with various structural types were rich in MR, LR, FR, and RH. Second, 6, 4, 8, and 11 chemical markers were identified from MR, LR, FR, and RH, respectively. Seven triterpene saponins (protopanaxatriol, quinquenoside R1, ginsenoside Rc, Rk1, Rg1, Re, and vinaginsenoside R1) might be used for rapid differentiation of four morphological regions. This comprehensive profile study of metabolites illustrated the similarities and differences of phytochemicals in four morphological regions of AG. The Haigou gold deposit is one of the largest known lode gold deposits in the Jiapigou-Haigou gold belt of the Yanbian area of NE China. Although this area contains a significant amount of gold mineralization, identifying new resources has been problematic. Here, we present the results of a systematic study of the ore geology and fluid inclusion characteristics of deep-seated mineralization in this area, as compiled from previous research. We use these data to determine the genetic processes that formed these deposits and outline the key criteria that should be used for future exploration. The Haigou deposit is hosted by a monzonitic granite (monzonite) with mineralization present within quartz veins. The gold mineralization is associated with silicification, and four stages of mineralization have been identified: milky quartz, pyrite-quartz, quartz-polymetallic sulphides and quartz-carbonate. The second and third stages host the majority of the mineralization. Three main types of fluid inclusion are present within the deposit: CO2-H2O, aqueous and pure CO2. The early milky quartz vein stage of mineralization hosts CO2-H2O and aqueous inclusions, whereas the main stages of mineralization are associated with all three types of fluid inclusions, which are randomly distributed but are especially well developed within pyrite-quartz veins. These stages of mineralization are also associated with clusters of CO2-H2O inclusions that coexist with large but variable amounts of aqueous phase fluid inclusions. The only fluid inclusions associated with the later stages of mineralization are aqueous inclusions within calcite-quartz veins. Microthermometric data indicate that the inclusions associated with metallogenesis homogenize at 145-410 °C and contain medium- to low-salinity fluids (<11.93 wt.% NaCl equivalent). The mineralization in this area formed during the Middle Jurassic (163-161 Ma), as evidenced by 40Ar/39Ar dating of hydrothermal sericite from the main stage of mineralization. Integrated C-H-O-S-Pb isotope analysis indicates that the initial ore-forming fluid was derived from CO2-rich magmas produced by the anatexis of lower crustal material. This fluid is then mixed and underwent fluid immiscibility during ore formation. The Haigou gold deposit is a typical medium- to low-temperature quartz lode gold deposit that formed after the collision of continental terranes during the transition from compressive to extensional tectonics. The data presented here indicate that this area has significant potential for deep-seated mineralization; an area that should be the focus of future exploration. Background Most reported sporotrichosis cases came from South American countries, the USA, India and Japan. This mycosis is also endemic in Northeast China. However, the situation is not clear for international researchers due to lack of large series reported in English. Objectives To report and analyse 457 sporotrichosis cases. Methods Retrospective study of 457 cases of sporotrichosis diagnosed by fungal culture at the First Hospital of Jilin University from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2009. Results In this series, the male: female ratio was 1:1.42. Mean age was 41.2 years. Cases from age group 51-60 years accounted for most of the cases (22.54%). A total of 434 patients lived in rural areas (94.97%). The onset of symptoms in 67.61% cases happened in cold seasons (winter and spring). History of trauma presented in 133 cases (29.1%). The mean duration of the symptoms before the presentation was 6.41 months. A total of 190 (41.58%) showed lymphocutaneous form, 252 patients (55.14%) showed fixed form, 8 patients (1.75%) showed disseminated cutaneous sporotrichosis and the clinical form of 7 patients (1.53%) could not be defined. Extremities and nodules were the most frequently involved sites and founded manifestation. Main histopathology findings were suppurative granuloma, tuberculoid granuloma and mixed inflammatory granuloma. A total of 75 cases (19.74%) had fungal elements revealed by Periodic Acid-Schiff staining. Patients responded well to potassium iodide (KI), itraconazole, terbinafine and combinations of these agents with a mean course of 2.17 months to resolve. Conclusion As the first report of a large series of sporotrichosis cases from China to be published in English literature, our study indicated a serious sporotrichosis endemic situation in Jilin province, Northeast China, with epidemiological and clinical characteristics similar to those of previous Chinese reports, but different from those in other countries. The article reports on the discovery of Tonalitic Gneiss in Southern Jilin Province, China. Topics include the rock samples which were collected from Baishan City, China from which zircons were separated and analyzed, the composition of the tonalitic gneiss which included plagioclase, quartz and biotite, and the plasma derived from basaltic materials.

Background: It is meaningful to expand the available population information on forensic medicine and to investigate the genetic characteristics of Han population from Jilin Province, Northeast China. Methods: In this study, we investigated the genetic characteristics of 24 Y‐chromosomal short tandem repeat (STR) loci in 1,088 unrelated Chinese Han male individuals from Jilin Province, using DNATyperTM Y24 amplification kit. Additionally, we performed the population comparison between the Jilin population and the other nine reported populations based on the Y‐STR genotyping haplotypes. Results: A total of 1,067 different haplotypes were found from 1,088 unrelated individuals, of which 1,046 were unique and 21 were shared by two individuals. The gene diversity values of 22 loci ranged from 0.3870 (DYS391) to 0.9668 (DYS385ab). The random match probability was 0.0010 with the discrimination capacity of 0.9807. Population comparison showed that there were minor differences compared to Beijing Chinese Han, China Manchu, Gansu Chinese Han, and Jiangsu Chinese Han, but major differences with respect to the populations of Guangdong Chinese Han, Yunnan Chinese Han, China Hui, China Korean, and China Tibetan. Pyraloidea is one of the larger superfamilies of Lepidoptera which comprises 16,000 named species (Kristensen, 1999). The larvae of Pyraloidea are generally concealed feeders. Most of pyraloid moths do harm to grains, vegetables, fruits and even insects. (Malcolm, 1992). Jilin Province is an important area of forestry and agriculture in NE China, many diseases and pests occurred each year. Accordingly to survey the diversity of Pyraloidea in Jilin Province is significant for systematic study and it is the basis for pests control in NE China. According to the references, we got the Pyraloidea checklist of China, which includes totally 110 species in Jilin Province, and up to now, we identified 76 species, among them, Pyralidae: 4 subfamilies, such as: 1 species of Galleriinae, 10 species of Pyralinae, 2 species of Epipaschiinae, 13 species of Phycitinae; Crambidae: 4 subfamilies, such as: 34 species of Pyraustinae, 2 species of Evergestinae, 4 species of Scopariinae, 10 species of Crambinae. Of them, 55 species are the first time reported in Jilin Province. All of the materials examined are kept in University of Incheon, which were collected from 2000-2003 in China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
