Simple synthesis and high performance are eternal pursuit for polymers. To lower the curing temperature, lower the melt viscosity and improve the processability of high performance phthalonitrile resins, a solvent‐free method was applied to synthesize three from different phenols. Their chemical structure was confirmed by FTIR and NMR spectra, the curing behavior was investigated by DSC and rheology. It was found that the polymerization of phthalonitrile groups could be effectively promoted by benzoxazine moieties and the curing temperature of phthalonitrile groups dropped to around 240°C. Consequently, owing to the high curing reactivity, polymers obtained at relatively low curing temperature possessed high crosslinking density and extremely high thermal stability. P‐apn‐200, which was cured at 200°C, showed 5 wt% weightloss temperature (Td5) of 472°C and char yield (Yc) of 75.77% at 800°C. Moreover, the polymers obtained after curing at 280°C showed superior dimensional stability, CN‐apn‐280 showed extremely low linear expansion coefficient (CTE) of 10.7 ppm/°C. And mP‐apn‐280 showed HR capacity of 3.99 J/g‧K, peak HRR of 4.0 W/K and total HR of 0.8 kJ/g. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (cardiac MR) reference ranges in Chinese children are lacking. Purpose: To establish age‐ and sex‐specific reference ranges for cardiac MR parameters in a cohort of healthy Chinese children. Study Type: Retrospective. Subjects: One hundred ninety‐six healthy children (mean age 9.5 ± 3.6 years, 111 boys). Field Strength/Sequence: 1.5 T; balanced steady‐state free precession. Assessment: Biventricular volume and ejection fractions (EF), left atrial (LA) volume, right atrial (RA) area, left ventricular (LV) mass and thickness, aortic root (AR), and main pulmonary artery (MPA) dimensions were measured. Parameters were compared between age groups and sex. The relationships between parameters and age, body mass index (BMI) and body surface area (BSA) were investigated. Statistical Tests: Independent‐samples t tests; Pearson's correlation. A P value <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Generally, boys exhibited greater absolute measurements of LV volume (end‐diastolic: 94.4 ± 29.5 vs. 81.3 ± 31.0 mL), LA volume (end‐diastolic: 42.6 ± 13.4 vs. 38.0 ± 13.3 mL), RA area (end‐diastolic: 11.6 ± 2.5 vs. 10.8 ± 2.6 cm2), LV thickness (base: 4.4 ± 1.1 vs. 3.8 ± 0.9 mm), AR dimensions (annuls: 16.3 ± 2.7 vs. 15.0 ± 2.8 mm), and MPA dimensions (14.3 ± 2.3 vs. 13.1 ± 2.4 mm) than girls did. However, these differences were not observed when the measurements were normalized to BSA (LV volume: 75.3 ± 11.7 vs. 71.9 ± 12.3 mL/m2, P = 0.052; LA volume: 34.8 ± 8.9 vs. 34.5 ± 7.6 mL/m2, P = 0.783; RA area: 9.7 ± 2.3 vs. 10.2 ± 2.3 cm2/m2, P = 0.107; LV thickness: 3.6 ± 0.7 vs. 3.6 ± 0.9 mm/m2, P = 0.990; AR: 13.6 ± 2.7 vs. 14.3 ± 3.4 mm/m2, P = 0.108; MPA: 11.9 ± 2.3 vs. 12.4 ± 2.4 mm/m2, P = 0.118). Boys had greater RV volume (end‐diastolic: 98.7 ± 33.5 vs. 82.7 ± 33.1 mL) and LV mass (52.6 ± 20.2 vs. 41.4 ± 16.0 g) compared to girls, irrespective of whether the values were indexed or not for BSA. Additionally, there were significant associations between age, BMI, and BSA with biventricular volume, LA volume, RA area, LV mass and thickness, AR and MPA dimensions in both boys and girls. Gastric cancer (GC) remains a significant health concern in Gansu province, China, with morbidity and mortality rates surpassing national averages. Despite the recognized health risks associated with ambient particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter <1 μm (PM1), the relationship between PM1 exposure and GC incidence has not been extensively studied. Data on GC cases from 2013 to 2021 were gathered from 262 hospitals in Gansu, China. Concurrently, data on the normalized vegetation index (NDVI), gross domestic product (GDP), drinking and smoking behavioral index (DSBI), PM1, PM2.5, and PM2.5–1 were collected. Utilizing a Bayesian conditional autoregressive (CAR) combined generalized linear model (GLM) with quasi‐Poisson regression, we evaluated the impact of PM1, PM2.5, PM2.5–1, NDVI, DSBI, and GDP on GC morbidity while adjusting for potential confounders. Our analysis indicated that exposure to PM1 (μg/m3) is significantly positively correlated with GC incidence in regions with an overall age‐standardized incidence rate (ASIR) >40 (relative risks [RR]: 1.023, 95% confidence intervals [CI, 1.007, 1.039]), male ASIR >50 (RR: 1.014, 95% CI [1.009, 1.019]), and female ASIR >20 (RR: 1.010, 95% CI [1.002, 1.018]). PM2.5, PM2.5–1, DSBI, and GDP were positively correlated with GC incidence, while NDVI was negatively correlated in the study regions. Our findings provided evidence of a positive correlation between PM1 exposure and GC incidence in high‐risk areas of GC within arid regions. Further research is warranted to elucidate the complex nonlinear relationships between environmental factors and GC. Background and Purpose: Liver cancer has a high recurrence rate of 50%~70% for early‐stage patients. Minimal residual disease (MRD) is strongly linked to liver cancer early recurrence. Identifying MRD through reliable prognostic biomarkers, such as circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), could significantly benefit these patients by enabling timely intervention and improved outcomes. Materials and Methods: A prospective study enrolled 32 liver cancer patients undergoing radical surgery. Peripheral blood samples (8 mL) were collected before and after surgery. In this study, we expanded upon our previously developed multi‐omics assay, initially designed for liver cancer early detection by calculating a cancer signal score (PHCC), to determine the MRD status (named SeekInCure). This process integrated protein tumor marker alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP) and cancer genomic hallmarks, copy number aberration (CNA) and fragment size (FS). Results: Of the enrolled patients, 78.1% were in early stages, and before surgery, 87.5% of patients had successfully detected the cancer signal in blood. After radical surgery, 23 patients were MRD‐negative, exhibiting better overall survival compared to the MRD‐positive patients (n = 9, p < 0.01). Patients maintaining undetectable cancer signals pre‐ and post‐surgery showed 100% survival, conversely, those keeping with detectable signals had a 55.6% mortality rate. In the era of the circular economy (CE), the pursuit of sustainability in the textile recycling industry offers organizations a significant competitive edge in the global competitive marketplace. Sustainable quality management practices (SQMP) have long been focal point of interest among companies. However, there has been limited research on achieving CE objectives in the textile sector, particularly within emerging economies like China. A gap remains in exploring SQMP within the context of CE goals, specifically in providing a comprehensive evaluation of the challenges to achieving sustainable operational practices. This study aims to integrate theories from quality management (QM) and the resource‐based view with corporate environmental objectives in the waste textile recycling industry, to identify key challenges in implementing SQMP. A robust analytic approach combining the integrated cloud model, blind number theory, Decision‐Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), and interpretative structure modeling (ISM) was used to analyze expert scoring results and to establish contextual and hierarchical relationships between the identified barriers, leading to the development of a framework model. The results show that workforce diversity has the highest correlation with other barriers and is a critical trigger point for integrating SQMP into organizations. These insights will assist practitioners in prioritizing strategic measures to foster sustainable QM. Furthermore, this investigation holds important policy implications for stakeholders committed to advancing sustainable CE through the recycling and utilization of waste textiles. Objective: The optimal low‐dose antiplatelet agents in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) had not been determined. The objective of this study was to compare the impact of different low‐dose antiplatelet agents on cardiovascular outcomes and bleeding risks in patients with CHD. Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, VIP, WanFang Data, and China Biology Medicine. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) enrolling patients with CHD treated with different low‐dose platelet aggregation inhibitors were included. The revised Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool for Randomized Trials Risk was used to assess risk of bias in RCTs. A Bayesian random network meta‐analysis (NMA) was conducted, with odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) as effect estimates in R 4.2.2 software and Stata 15.0. The quality of evidence was assessed using the Confidence in NMA framework. Results: Sixteen RCTs involving 6350 patients were included. All participants were treated with a recommended dose of aspirin plus a low or standard dose of P2Y12 receptor antagonist. Low‐level evidence indicated the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) was similar among low doses of prasugrel, ticagrelor, standard doses of prasugrel, ticagrelor, and clopidogrel. Low‐ to moderate‐level evidence suggested there was no difference in bleeding risk among low dose of prasugrel, ticagrelor, clopidogrel compared to standard dose of prasugrel, ticagrelor, and clopidogrel. NMA showed that low dose of prasugrel had the highest probability of being the best intervention in terms of MACE, myocardial infarction, and bleeding events leading to discontinuation. Conclusion: Based on low‐level evidence, low dose of prasugrel combined with standard dose of aspirin can be recommended for patients with CHD, low dose of ticagrelor was similar in terms of MACE and bleeding compared with standard dose of P2Y12 receptor antagonist. The study investigates the bending behavior and failure mechanisms of a titanium matrix composite reinforced with SiC fibers. The effects of nominal fiber volume fraction, testing temperature, and fiber position on bending behavior are evaluated. The results indicate that increasing the nominal fiber volume fraction from 19% to 50% improves average bending strength, reaching 2757 MPa at room temperature and 2596 MPa at 350 °C. Fiber position significantly influences bend strength, and composites with fibers on the concave side show greater strength than those with fibers on the convex side. Cracks in the composite specimen preferentially initiate from the bottom of the composite core rather than from the top, and fiber breakage under tensile stress is the dominant damage mechanism in the bend test. Various strategies are developed to engineer aligned hierarchical architectures in polymer hydrogels for enhanced mechanical performance. However, chain alignment remains impeded by the presence of hydrogen bonds between adjacent chains. Herein, a facile sacrificial micelle‐assisted‐alignment strategy is proposed, leading to well‐aligned, strong and tough pure chitosan hydrogels. The sacrificial sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles electrostatically interact with the protonated chitosan chains, enabling chain sliding and alignment under uniaxial forces. Subsequently, sacrificial micelles can be easily removed via NaOH treatment, causing the reforming of H‐bond in the chain networks. The strength of the pure chitosan hydrogels increases 140‐fold, reaching 58.9 ± 3.4 MPa; the modulus increases 595‐fold, reaching 226.4 ± 42.8 MPa. After drying‐rehydration, the strength and modulus further rise to 70.3 ± 2.4 and 403.5 ± 76.3 MPa, marking a significant advancement in high‐strength pure chitosan hydrogel films. Furthermore, the designed multiscale architectures involving enhanced crystallinity, well‐aligned fibers, strong interfaces, robust multilayer Bouligand assembly contribute to the exact replica of lobster underbelly with impact resistance up to 6.8 ± 1.0 kJ m−1. Surface proton hopping conduction (SPHC) mechanisms is an important proton conduction mechanism in conventional polymer electrolytes, along with the Grotthuss and vehicle mechanisms. Due to the small diffusion coefficient of protons in the SPHC mechanism, few studies have focused on the SPHC mechanism. Recently, it has been found that a dense alignment of SO3− groups significantly lowers the activation energy in the SPHC mechanism, enabling fast proton conduction. In this study, a series of polymerizable amphiphilic‐zwitterions is prepared, forming bicontinuous cubic liquid‐crystalline assemblies with gyroid symmetry in the presence of suitable amounts of bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (HTf2N) and water. In situ polymerization of these compounds yields gyroid‐nanostructured polymer films, as confirmed by synchrotron small‐angle X‐ray scattering experiments. The high proton conductivity of the films on the order of 10−2 S cm−1 at 40 °C and relative humidity of 90% is based solely on the SPHC mechanism. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previously, lysosomes were primarily referred to as the digestive organelles and recycling centers within cells. Recent discoveries have expanded the lysosomal functional scope and revealed their critical roles in nutrient sensing, epigenetic regulation, plasma membrane repair, lipid transport, ion homeostasis, and cellular stress response. Lysosomal dysfunction is also found to be associated with aging and several diseases. Therefore, function of macroautophagy, a lysosome‐dependent intracellular degradation system, has been identified as one of the updated twelve hallmarks of aging. In this review, we begin by introducing the concept of lysosomal quality control (LQC), which is a cellular machinery that maintains the number, morphology, and function of lysosomes through different processes such as lysosomal biogenesis, reformation, fission, fusion, turnover, lysophagy, exocytosis, and membrane permeabilization and repair. Next, we summarize the results from studies reporting the association between LQC dysregulation and aging/various disorders. Subsequently, we explore the emerging therapeutic strategies that target distinct aspects of LQC for treating diseases and combatting aging. Background: NLRP3 inflammasome‐related inflammation might play an important role in the pathophysiology of severe CVT. The use of steroids as anti‐inflammatory agents in improving severe CVT prognosis remains controversial. Methods: A total of 94 male Sprague–Dawley rats were used. We evaluated the dynamic and association between NLRP3 inflammasome in brain, blood, and CSF and severity in severe CVT rats and/or patients. We also explored the effect of steroids on NLRP3 activation, neurological injury, and CSF circulation disturbance after CVT in animals and/or patients. Results: In rats, compared with the sham group, NLRP3‐related factors rose on day 1, peaked on day 2 (NLRP3, Sham: 0.79 ± 0.22; day 2: 1.25 ± 0.08, p < 0.01; pro‐Caspase‐1, Sham: 0.58 ± 0.13, day 2: 1.20 ± 0.44, p < 0.05; GSDMD, Sham: 0.94 ± 0.22, day 2: 1.72 ± 0.46, p < 0.05; pro‐IL‐1β, Sham: 0.74 ± 0.15, day 2: 1.35 ± 0.09, p < 0.01), decreased on day 7 in rats (n = 4 per group). Thrombus (Sham: 0.00 ± 0.00, day 2: 3.44 ± 0.70, p < 0.0001), infarct size (Sham: 0.00 ± 0.00, day 2: 11.99 ± 6.26, p < 0.01) and neurological deficits appeared similar trend. In 50 patients, serum NLRP3 and IL‐6 levels correlated positively with NIHSS (r = 0.4273, p = 0.0020; r = 0.4938, p = 0.0029) and mRS (r = 0.5349, p = 0.0125; r = 0.6213, p = 0.026), while CSF IL‐6 correlated positively with mRS on admission (r = 0.5349, p = 0.0125). Compared with baseline, NLRP3 (0.36 (0.36, 0.36) vs. 0.41 (0.37, 0.84), p < 0.0001) and IL‐6 decreased (4.06 ± 1.48 vs. 12.03 ± 7.80, p < 0.05), accompanying by improvement of neurological deficits and CSF circulation (all p < 0.01) after steroids therapy in severe CVT patients at discharge and 3 months follow‐up. No significant steroid‐related adverse effects were observed. Conclusion: Short‐term steroid therapy may improve prognosis of severe CVT by suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome‐related inflammation. Delayed outcome is common in phase I oncology clinical trials. It causes logistic difficulty, wastes resources, and prolongs the trial duration. This article investigates this issue and proposes the time‐to‐event 3 + 3 (T3 + 3) design, which utilizes the actual follow‐up time for at‐risk patients with pending toxicity outcomes. The T3 + 3 design allows continuous accrual without unnecessary trial suspension and is costless and implementable with pretabulated dose decision rules. Besides, the T3 + 3 design uses the isotonic regression to estimate the toxicity rates across dose levels and therefore can accommodate for any targeted toxicity rate for maximum tolerated dose (MTD). It dramatically facilitates the trial preparation and conduct without intensive computation and statistical consultation. The extension to other algorithm‐based phase I dose‐finding designs (e.g., i3 + 3 design) is also studied. Comprehensive computer simulation studies are conducted to investigate the performance of the T3 + 3 design under various dose‐toxicity scenarios. The results confirm that the T3 + 3 design substantially shortens the trial duration compared with the conventional 3 + 3 design and yields much higher accuracy in MTD identification than the rolling six design. In summary, the T3 + 3 design addresses the delayed outcome issue while keeping the desirable features of the 3 + 3 design, such as simplicity, transparency, and costless implementation. Bis(8‐hydroxyquinolates) Zinc (Znq2) can be used as a light‐emitting layer material in OLED devices to achieve its efficient electroluminescence effect. In this paper, Znq2 powder has been successfully synthesized and modified by the physical vapor deposition (PVD) method. Precursors and nano‐materials are characterized by XRD, SEM, PL, and so on. The performance of the modified material has been significantly improved. The emission intensity and absorption intensity in the deposited products increased with the increase in PVD temperature. At 453 K, luminous properties such as luminous intensity reach the optimal value including its fluorescence lifetime. Fluorescence lifetime values vary from 13 to 17 ns with the increase in temperature. The luminescence mechanism is also discussed. The energy gap and absorption spectrum of HOM‐LUMO are calculated by the DFT/UB3LYP method. The experimental values agree well with the theoretical values. The nanomaterial crystals modified by PVD technology are more orderly, impurities are reduced, and the luminous stability of the material is improved, which may be one of the reasons for the relatively slow decline in product life. Host immunity is central to the virus's spread dynamics, which is significantly influenced by vaccination and prior infection experiences. In this work, we analyzed the co‐evolution of SARS‐CoV‐2 mutation, angiotensin‐converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor binding, and neutralizing antibody (NAb) responses across various variants in 822 human and mice vaccinated with different non‐Omicron and Omicron vaccines is analyzed. The link between vaccine efficacy and vaccine type, dosing, and post‐vaccination duration is revealed. The classification of immune protection against non‐Omicron and Omicron variants is co‐evolved with genetic mutations and vaccination. Additionally, a model, the Prevalence Score (P‐Score) is introduced, which surpasses previous algorithm‐based models in predicting the potential prevalence of new variants in vaccinated populations. The hybrid vaccination combining the wild‐type (WT) inactivated vaccine with the Omicron BA.4/5 mRNA vaccine may provide broad protection against both non‐Omicron variants and Omicron variants, albeit with EG.5.1 still posing a risk. In conclusion, these findings enhance understanding of population immunity variations and provide valuable insights for future vaccine development and public health strategies. Background: Non‐obstructive azoospermia is the most severe form of male infertility. A testicular biopsy is required for the diagnosis of non‐obstructive azoospermia, and the causal factors for non‐obstructive azoospermia remain unknown. Objectives: To reduce the risk of multiple biopsies and identify factors that contribute to non‐obstructive azoospermia, we proposed an integrated approach for the preoperative diagnosis and clinical management of non‐obstructive azoospermia by applying the chromosome‐spreading technique and whole‐exome sequencing. Materials and Methods: Between July 2020 and December 2022, after ruling out definitive obstructive azoospermia and non‐obstructive azoospermia patients with testicular volume < 6 mL, 20 patients with non‐obstructive azoospermia who underwent preoperative testicular diagnostic biopsy using testicular sperm aspiration were subjected to retrospective analysis. Results: Microscopic examination identified four patients with sperm cells, and 16 without sperm cells. Routine pathological analysis classified one patient as normal spermatogenesis, three as hypospermatogenesis, five as maturation arrest, nine as Sertoli cell‐only, and two as unable to judge. With chromosome‐spreading technology using routine cell suspension samples for microscopic examination, 18 patient diagnoses were validated, and two patients without a definitive diagnosis were supplemented. Detection of the Y chromosome and a well‐organized whole‐exome sequencing analysis revealed potential genetic factors. Discussion and Conclusion: The full use of testicular biopsy is beneficial for the diagnosis of azoospermia, as it avoids the risk of multiple biopsies. Moreover, in combination with whole‐exome sequencing, clinicians can obtain more information regarding the pathogenesis of non‐obstructive azoospermia, which may guide treatment. Renal ischaemia–reperfusion injury (RIRI) is a primary cause of acute kidney damage, occurring frequently in situations like renal transplantation, yet the underlying mechanisms were not fully understood. Sentrin‐specific protease 1 (SENP1) is an important member of the SENP family, which is widely involved in various diseases. However, the role of SENP1 in RIRI has been unclear. In our study, we discovered that SENP1 was involved in RIRI and reduced renal cell apoptosis and oxidative stress at elevated levels. Further mechanistic studies showed that hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1α (HIF‐1α) was identified as a substrate of SENP1. Furthermore, SENP1 deSUMOylated HIF‐1α, which reduced the degradation of HIF‐1α, and exerted a renoprotective function. In addition, the protective function was lost after application of the HIF‐1α specific inhibitor KC7F2. Briefly, our results fully demonstrated that SENP1 reduced the degradation of HIF‐1α and attenuated oxidative stress and apoptosis in RIRI by regulating the deSUMOylation of HIF‐1α, suggesting that SENP1 may serve as a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of RIRI. A sustainable strategy based on chitin from waste seafood is proposed to remove nano‐size microplastics in water. A chitin nanofibrous foam is constructed by a new hydrogen bond rearrangement scheme without any crosslinking, which delivers an impressive high adsorption capacity of 411.14 ± 1.50 mg g−1 for small‐sized (< 1 µm) microplastics. This excellent adsorption capacity stems from the rough fibrous surface structure of the highly porous foam, the positively charged nature of the partially deacetylated chitin and other molecular interactions introduced by the activation and increased exposure of ‐OH, ‐NH2 and ‐NHCO‐ groups. Molecular dynamics simulation further demonstrates that C‐H‐π, O‐H‐π, and C = O‐π interactions between the microplastics and chitin foam facilitates the efficient removal of microplastics. A high removal efficiency is maintained even in salty water, a property that exemplifies good adaptability to various water bodies. Finally, two proof‐of‐principle scenarios are presented for converting the recovered microplastics into value‐added products. This study evaluated the bioequivalence of the newly developed dapoxetine hydrochloride tablet relative to the marketed reference product by comparing their pharmacokinetic profiles under fasted and fed conditions. A total of 60 healthy Chinese male subjects participated in a single‐center, 2‐period, 2‐sequence, randomized, open‐label, self‐crossover study with a washout period of 14 days, 30 in the fasted group and 30 in the fed group. Following a single 30‐mg oral dose of the test or reference dapoxetine formulation, blood samples were collected before dosing to 72 hours after dosing. Liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry was performed to measure plasma concentration of dapoxetine and determine pharmacokinetic parameters through noncompartmental analysis. The vital signs and adverse events were also monitored during the study. The 90% confidence intervals of the geometric mean ratios for maximum plasma concentration, area under the plasma concentration‐time curve from time 0 to the last concentration time, and area under the plasma concentration‐time curve from time 0 extrapolated to infinity of the 2 dapoxetine formulations completely fell within the regulatory criteria for bioequivalence of 80%‐125%. In addition, both dapoxetine hydrochloride formulations were generally well tolerated. Seasonal H3N2 influenza virus, known for its rapid evolution, poses a serious threat to human health. This study focuses on analyzing the influenza virus trends in Jining City (2018–2023) and understanding the evolving nature of H3N2 strains. Data on influenza‐like cases were gathered from Jining City's sentinel hospitals: Jining First People's Hospital and Rencheng Maternal and Child Health Hospital, using the Chinese Influenza Surveillance Information System. Over the period from 2018 to 2023, 7844 throat swab specimens were assessed using real‐time fluorescence quantitative PCR for influenza virus nucleic acid detection. For cases positive for seasonal H3N2 influenza virus, virus isolation was followed by whole genome sequencing. Evolutionary trees were built for the eight gene segments, and protein variation analysis was performed. From 2018 to 2023, influenza‐like cases in Jining City represented 6.99% (237 299/3 397 247) of outpatient visits, peaking in December and January. Influenza virus was detected in 15.67% (1229/7844) of cases, primarily from December to February. Notably, no cases were found in the 2020–2021 season. Full genome sequencing was conducted on 70 seasonal H3N2 strains, revealing distinct evolutionary branches across seasons. Significant antigenic site variations in the HA protein were noted. No resistance mutations to inhibitors were found, but some strains exhibited mutations in PA, NS1, PA‐X, and PB1‐F2. Influenza trends in Jining City saw significant shifts in the 2020–2021 and 2022–2023 seasons. Seasonal H3N2 exhibited rapid evolution. The life cycle of genome builds spans interlocking pillars of assembly, annotation, and comparative genomics to drive biological insights. While tools exist to address each pillar separately, there is a growing need for tools to integrate different pillars of a genome project holistically. For example, comparative approaches can provide quality control of assembly or annotation; genome assembly, in turn, can help to identify artifacts that may complicate the interpretation of genome comparisons. The JCVI library is a versatile Python‐based library that offers a suite of tools that excel across these pillars. Featuring a modular design, the JCVI library provides high‐level utilities for tasks such as format parsing, graphics generation, and manipulation of genome assemblies and annotations. Supporting genomics algorithms like MCscan and ALLMAPS are widely employed in building genome releases, producing publication‐ready figures for quality assessment and evolutionary inference. Aims: This study aimed to explore the effects of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) H19 knockdown on angiogenesis and blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) and elucidate their underlying regulatory mechanisms. Methods: A middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion model was used to induce cerebral I/R injury. The cerebral infarct volume and neurological impairment were assessed using 2,3,5‐triphenyl‐tetrazolium chloride staining and neurobehavioral tests, respectively. Relevant proteins were evaluated using western blotting and immunofluorescence staining. Additionally, a bioinformatics website was used to predict the potential target genes of lncRNA H19. Finally, a rescue experiment was conducted to confirm the potential mechanism. Results: Silencing of H19 significantly decreased the cerebral infarct volume, enhanced the recovery of neurological function, mitigated BBB damage, and stimulated endothelial cell proliferation following ischemic stroke. Insulin‐like growth factor 2 mRNA‐binding protein 2 (IMP2) is predicted to be a potential target gene for lncRNA H19. H19 knockdown increased IMP2 protein expression and IMP2 inhibition reversed the protective effects of H19 inhibition. Mn‐based oxides promise high energy density and low toxicity cathodes for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (ZIBs) but suffer from complex irreversible phase transitions, accompanied by continuous disproportionation reactions and manganese dissolution. Tailor‐made reversible and robust crystal structure in Mn‐based material is crucial and challenging. Here a controllable electrochemical oxidation induced crystal transition strategy is developed for the transformation of cubic α‐Mn2O3 into amorphous Zn0.17MnO2−n·0.52H2O, which serves as the host of Zn2+, empowering more highly accessible built‐in zincophilic sites whilst alleviating the lattice repulsion of Zn2+ (de)intercalation. As confirmed by crystal structure evolution characterizations and theoretical simulations, the amorphous Zn0.17MnO2−n·0.52H2O with excellent electronic properties and low zinc‐ion migration barrier can be reversibly converted into ZnMn3O7·3H2O. This stabilized dynamic electrochemical crystal transition equilibrium contributes ultrahigh capacity (558 mAh g−1), high‐energy density (696 Wh kg−1@6 kW kg−1), and superior stability (5000 cycles). Conventional magnetophoresis techniques for manipulating biocarriers and cells predominantly rely on large‐scale electromagnetic systems, which is a major obstacle to the development of portable and miniaturized cell‐on‐chip platforms. Herein, a novel magnetic engineering approach by tailoring a nanoscale notch on a disk micromagnet using two‐step optical and thermal lithography is developed. Versatile manipulations are demonstrated, such as separation and trapping, of carriers and cells by mediating changes in the magnetic domain structure and discontinuous movement of magnetic energy wells around the circumferential edge of the micromagnet caused by a locally fabricated nano‐notch in a low magnetic field system. The motion of the magnetic energy well is regulated by the configuration of the nanoscale notch and the strength and frequency of the magnetic field, accompanying the jump motion of the carriers. The proposed concepts demonstrate that multiple carriers and cells can be manipulated and sorted using optimized nanoscale multi‐notch gates for a portable magnetophoretic system. Summary: This paper proposes a wideband quasi‐reflectionless bandpass filter with high‐selectivity based on signal‐interference method. The bandpass filter is composed of a bandpass section and two absorptive sections, which consist of a quarter‐wavelength coupled line and signal‐interfering/resistively loaded path, respectively. The bandpass section mainly performs bandpass filtering characteristics while the absorptive sections are applied to consume the reflected signals. By virtue of rationally setting electric lengths and characteristic impedances of the absorptive section to form signal interference, signal dissipation within a wider frequency range and higher selectivity can be realized. Finally, the quasi‐reflectionless bandpass filter was designed and demonstrated with well‐matched measurement and simulation results. Compared with conventional works, the proposed bandpass filter can simultaneously attain wideband, high‐selectivity, and two‐port quasi‐reflectionless performance within a single‐layer topology and well‐integrated structure owing to the signal‐interference technology. Purpose: To evaluate the adaptability between posts and post spaces and the rationality of cores fabricated by two digital custom post‐and‐core processes. Materials and Methods: Titanium post‐and‐cores were fabricated by digital scanning impression technology or digital scanning wax‐pattern technology on tooth defect molds of incisors, premolars, and molars, with traditional lost‐wax casts of these teeth as the controls. Micro‐CT and a laboratory scanner were used to determine intervals between post wall and root canal wall of the root apex, middle, and cervix of each sample in cross‐, sagittal, and coronal sections; intervals between the end of post and tooth; diameters of cervical, middle, and incisal part at cross‐, sagittal, and coronal sections of each sample, as well as shoulder widths. Results: The three fabrication processes showed significant differences in intervals between post‐and‐core prostheses and root canal walls, diameters of all parts of cores, and shoulder widths. Scanning impressions showed significant advantages in the main part of post‐and‐cores in incisors and premolars, while the scanning wax‐pattern process showed obvious inferiorities in premolars and molars. As to core spatial size, values of measured sites in the scanning impression process were closer to the standard than those of the traditional process, while differences between the measured value of the scanning wax‐pattern process were much more obvious than in the traditional process. Field‐driven transport systems offer great promise for use as biofunctionalized carriers in microrobotics, biomedicine, and cell delivery applications. Despite the construction of artificial microtubules using several micromagnets, which provide a promising transport pathway for the synchronous delivery of microrobotic carriers to the targeted location inside microvascular networks, the selective transport of different microrobotic carriers remains an unexplored challenge. This study demonstrated the selective manipulation and transport of microrobotics along a patterned micromagnet using applied magnetic fields. Owing to varied field strengths, the magnetic beads used as the microrobotic carriers with different sizes revealed varied locomotion, including all of them moving along the same direction, selective rotation, bidirectional locomotion, and all of them moving in a reversed direction. Furthermore, cells immobilized with magnetic beads and nanoparticles also revealed varied locomotion. Poly(ester amide)s (PEAs) have received extensive attention due to their unique chemical structure and excellent properties. In this paper, a novel PEA (P6T6T) was prepared through melt polycondensation of terephthalic acid (PTA) and 6T6‐diamide‐diol (6T6), which was from the amidation of 6‐amino‐1‐hexanol and PTA. The structures were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance, fourier transform infrared, and wide‐angle X‐Ray diffraction, and the thermal properties were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry and thermal gravimetric analysis for P6T6T. It was found that the melting point of P6T6T was 217°C, which was about 37°C lower than that of PET (254°C), while the initial decomposition temperature was maintained at about 381°C. P6T6T had a fast crystallization rate (the half time of crystallization (t1/2) range from 35 to 60 s) and great crystallization properties. The saturated water absorption of the P6T6T was measured to be 2.53 wt%, which was three times that of PET (0.83 wt%). Furthermore, the water contact angle of P6T6T was determined to be 57.3°C, much lower than that of PET (94.7°C). All these results suggest that the incorporation of amide was an efficient method to improve the water absorption of polyester fibers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aims: Ischemic stroke remains a challenge in medical research because of the limited treatment options. Recombinant human tissue plasminogen activator (rtPA) is the primary treatment for recanalization. However, nearly 50% of the patients experience complications that result in ineffective reperfusion. The precise factors contributing to ineffective reperfusion remain unclear; however, recent studies have suggested that immune cells, notably neutrophils, may influence the outcome of rtPA thrombolysis via mechanisms such as the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps. This study aimed to explore the nonthrombolytic effects of rtPA on neutrophils and highlight their contribution to ineffective reperfusion. Methods: We evaluated the effects of rtPA treatment on middle cerebral artery occlusion in rats. We also assessed neutrophil infiltration and activation after rtPA treatment in vitro and in vivo in a small cohort of patients with massive cerebral ischemia (MCI). Results: rtPA increased neutrophil infiltration into the brain microvessels and worsened blood–brain barrier damage during ischemia. It also increased the neutrophil counts of the patients with MCI. Background: N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification is essential for modulating RNA processing as well as expression, particularly in the context of malignant tumour progression. However, the exploration of m6A modification in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) remains very limited. Methods: RNA m6A levels were analysed in NPC using m6A dot blot assay. The expression level of methyltransferase‐like 14 (METTL14) within NPC tissues was analysed from public databases as well as RT‐qPCR and immunohistochemistry. The influences on METTL14 expression on NPC proliferation and metastasis were explored via in vitro as well as in vivo functional assays. Targeted genes of METTL14 were screened using the m6A and gene expression profiling microarray data. Actinomycin D treatment and polysome analysis were used to detect the half‐life and translational efficiency of ANKRD22. Flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation were used to validate the role of ANKRD22 on lipid metabolism in NPC cells. ChIP‐qPCR analysis of H3K27AC signalling near the promoters of METTL14, GINS3, POLE2, PLEK2 and FERMT1 genes. Results: We revealed METTL14, in NPC, correlating with poor patient prognosis. In vitro and in vivo assays indicated METTL14 actively promoted NPC cells proliferation and metastasis. METTL14 catalysed m6A modification on ANKRD22 messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA), recognized by the reader IGF2BP2, leading to increased mRNA stability and higher translational efficiency. Moreover, ANKRD22, a metabolism‐related protein on mitochondria, interacted with SLC25A1 to enhance citrate transport, elevating intracellular acetyl‐CoA content. This dual impact of ANKRD22 promoted lipid metabolism reprogramming and cellular lipid synthesis while upregulating the expression of genes associated with the cell cycle (GINS3 and POLE2) and the cytoskeleton (PLEK2 and FERMT1) through heightened epigenetic histone acetylation levels in the nucleus. Intriguingly, our findings highlighted elevated ANKRD22‐mediated histone H3 lysine 27 acetylation (H3K27AC) signals near the METTL14 promoter, which contributes to a positive feedback loop perpetuating malignant progression in NPC. Objectives: Obesity and hypercholesterolemia are linked to unfavor clinical outcomes. Recent studies declared the paradox that high body mass index (BMI) and serum cholesterol were independently connected to better clinical outcome of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) monotherapy in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The aim of the study is to investigate the prognosis of BMI and serum cholesterol in ICIs‐based therapy. Methods: This is a retrospective study of 95 NSCLC patients treated with ICIs‐based therapy at the Department of Oncology and Lung Cancer Center of China‐Japan Friendship Hospital. Treatment efficacy was assessed using durable clinical benefit (DCB) versus nondurable benefit (NDB), best response (active vs. nonactive), and progression‐free survival (PFS). The prognostic value of BMI, LDL‐C, and RC was determined by multivariate regression analyses, while controlling for confounding factors including age, gender, diabetes status, smoking history, and statin usage. BMI was considered a confounding factor in the analysis when examining the impact of lipoproteins. Results: In our study, we found that in the whole group, BMI ≥25 kg/m2 was linked to a higher risk of poor therapeutic response (OR = 5.92, 95% CI 1.99–19.51, p.val = 0.002) and shorter progression‐free survival (HR = 3.00, 95% CI 1.59–5.68, p.val = 0.001). In addition, low levels of RC were associated with better therapeutic response (OR = 0.12, 95% CI 0.02–0.64, p.val = 0.019), while low levels of serum LDL‐C were found to predict longer PFS (HR = 0.40, 95% CI 0.19–0.82, p.val = 0.012). These associations were consistent in advanced NSCLC patients receiving ICIs and chemotherapy. Conclusions: Our study suggest that BMI ≥25 kg/m2 and elevated levels of apoB‐containing lipoproteins, including LDL‐C and RC, could potentially serve as useful prognostic markers for predicting poor treatment outcomes in advanced NSCLC patients treated with the combination of chemotherapy and ICIs. Background: Pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of the lumbar dorsal root ganglion (DRG) has been widely used as a method to relieve lumbar radicular pain (LRP). However, the value of PRF application in LRP patients remains uncertain. This systematic review aimed to compare the effects of PRF of lumbar DRG and LEI in patients with LRP. Methods: A literature search was performed using well‐known databases for articles published up to May 2023. We included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that evaluated the effects of PRF compared to LEI with or without steroids. We screened articles, extracted data, and assessed risk of bias in duplicate. The pain scores and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores at 1, 3, and 6 months after procedures were obtained. A random‐effects meta‐analysis model was applied for outcomes. We evaluated evidence certainty for each outcome using the GRADE scoring system. This review was registered in the PROSPERO (ID: CRD42021253628). Results: A total of 10 RCTs were included and data of 613 patients were retrieved. We assessed the overall quality of the evidence as very low to moderate. PRF showed no difference in pain scores at 1 (mean difference [MD] −0.80, 95% confidence interval [CI] –1.59 to 0.00, low certainty) and 6 months (MD –2.37, 95% CI –4.79 to 0.05, very low certainty), and significantly improved pain scores at 3 months (MD –1.31, 95% CI –2.29 to −0.33, low certainty). There was no significant difference in ODI score at any interval (very low to low certainty). In the subgroup who underwent a diagnostic block, did not use steroids, and PRF duration greater than 360 s, PRF significantly reduced pain scores at 3 months after procedures. Conclusions: We found low quality of the evidence supporting adjuvant PRF to the lumbar DRG has a greater analgesic effect at 3 months after procedures in patients with LRP than LEI. We identified no convincing evidence to show that this treatment improves function. High‐quality evidence is lacking, and data were largely derived from short‐term effects. Background and Aim: NOTCH2 is overexpressed in gastric cancer (GC), and its enhanced activity is significantly correlated with worse tumor characteristics. We aim to analyze the clinicopathologic correlation between NOTCH2 and the molecular typing of GC by immunohistochemistry and by transcriptional sequencing. Methods: In this immunohistochemical study, we detected NOTCH2, EBER, P53, HER2, MLH1, MSH2, PMS2, and MSH6 and evaluated the association of NOTCH2 with clinical and histopathological features in a large single‐institutional series of gastric adenocarcinomas (n = 488). The correlation was also investigated between immunohistochemical results and survival outcomes. Results: High NOTCH2 expression (2+/3+) was found in 139/488 (27.5%) samples analyzed. NOTCH2 expression was correlated with early stage T1 (P < 0.0001), GC in the fundus (P = 0.0364), and positive P53 status (P = 0.0019). We did not find an association between NOTCH2 and HER2, microsatellite instability, EBER, and overall survival. Through RNA sequencing, it was revealed that NOTCH2 plays an important biological function in the pathogenesis and development of GC. Conclusions: Our findings suggested that NOTCH2 may be a potential diagnostic target for GC due to the fact that its high expression is closely associated with the early stages of cancer. Aims: Alström syndrome (AS) is a rare recessive disorder characterised by diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance (IR), and visual and hearing impairments. Mutations in the ALMS1 gene have been identified as the causative agents of AS. This study aimed to explore the relationship between rare ALMS1 variants and clinical features in Chinese patients with early‐onset type 2 diabetes (age at diagnosis ≤40 years; EOD). Materials and Methods: ALMS1 gene sequencing was performed in 611 Chinese individuals with EOD, 36 with postprandial hyperinsulinemia, and 47 with pre‐diabetes and fasting IR. In‐silico prediction algorithm and the American College of Medical Genetics Guidelines (ACMG) were used to evaluate the deleteriousness and pathogenicity of the variants. Results: Sixty‐two rare ALMS1 variants (frequency <0.005) were identified in 82 patients with EOD. Nineteen variants were predicted to be deleterious (pD). Patients with EOD carrying pD variants had higher fasting C‐peptide, postprandial C‐peptide, and HOMA2‐IR levels than those without variants. The frequency of ALMS1 pD variants in the subgroup with more insulin‐resistant EOD was higher than that in other EOD subgroups. Two patients with EOD, obesity, and IR who carried one heterozygous pathogenic/likely pathogenic rare variant of ALMS1 according to ACMG were identified. Moreover, rare heterozygous pD variants of ALMS1 were found in participants from cohorts of postprandial hyperinsulinemia as well as in pre‐diabetes with fasting IR. Conclusions: ALMS1 rare pD variants are enriched in the populations with significant IR, which is a major hallmark of diabetes pathogenesis. Dealing with complex shell surfaces using the finite element method, we are often limited to simple geometric meshes such as triangles and quadrangles and have to refine the meshes to meet the calculation accuracy requirements, significantly increasing the calculation cost. The virtual element method (VEM), a new numerical method with high mesh flexibility, has been widely applied to many physical and mechanical problems. To the best of our knowledge, this method has yet to be studied for membrane shell models so far. In this paper, for the first time, we provide an enriched conforming VEM discrete scheme for the two‐dimensional three‐component (2D‐3C) generalized membrane shell (GMS) model proposed by Ciarlet et al. Furthermore, we prove the VEM discrete solution's existence and uniqueness for the GMS. Numerical experiments demonstrate that this discrete scheme is convergent and stable and can accurately represent the membrane stress state of conical, cylindrical, hyperbolical, and spherical shells clamped along a portion of their lateral faces. At the same time, we show the diversity of the grid subdivision. Thus, we develop the VEM for the GMS model successfully. In the future, we will continue to study the VEM for other shell models. Peripheral nerve injury represents a critical clinical challenge. Employing tissue engineering, biomimetic scaffolds mimicking the biophysical and biochemical cues of the native extracellular matrix have shown promise. Specifically, conductive matrices, mirroring neural tissue's electrical properties, hold potential for neural tissue repair. However, the synergistic impact of conductivity and biomolecules on injured peripheral nerves remains unexplored. In this study, conductive hydrogels via a three-step click chemical reaction method, incorporating silk fibroin, graphene oxide, and Polyethylene Glycol Diacrylate is crafted. The inclusion of fibroblast exosomes yielded a synergistic effect, enhancing recovery from peripheral nerve injuries. Graphene oxide heightened the electron transmission capacity of the hydrogels, while fibroblast exosomes endowed them with the ability to modulate cellular behaviors. This resulted in enhanced axon and myelin regeneration. Furthermore, the hydrogel facilitated vascular regeneration during peripheral nerve recovery through the VEGF/NOTCH signaling pathway. Transplanting conductive hydrogel conduits laden with fibroblast exosomes led to substantial functional recovery in a rat sciatic nerve transection model. Bolted joints are widely used in aircraft structures. Proper design and accurate strength assessment of these joints are of great importance in aircraft design. In this paper, to investigate the mechanical behavior of single lap shear joints of carbon fiber reinforce plastic, four types of fastener of numerical model methods are developed. Based on the same principle of lap joint, different double bolt, and single‐lap joint structures with three distinct width‐diameter ratios (w/D) are designed and manufactured. Each specimen is loaded under tension until complete failure. The experimental results are used not only to verify the fastener models, but also to investigate the failure transformation induced from the composite load bypass and the bolt‐hole load bearing. It is found that the increase of w/D, the failure model could transfer from the net cross section damage caused by load bypass to the bolt hole failure caused by load bearing. By comparison, the numerical results show that the Cbush+RBE3 model has high adaptability and good fidelity in elastic stage without increasing the model scale in terms of the level of details. To improve the accuracy in nonlinear stage, hole geometry details need to be considered. Additionally, single bolt is created to reveal the nonlinear deformation affected by laminate thickness. Three/four/five row of bolt models are used to show the bolt load distribution characteristics. Bridges situated on small-radius reverse curves play a pivotal role within some railway networks, exerting influence over project-wide design progress. Typically, assessing the safety of bridge design parameters necessitates laborious vehicle-bridge dynamic coupling vibration numerical analysis or model experiments. To streamline the design process and enhance efficiency during the preliminary design phase, we propose an efficient method to assess the dynamic performance of bridges on small-radius reverse curves. This approach enables direct prediction of bridge dynamic performance based on design parameters, eliminating the need for numerical simulations and model experiments. We first develop a vehicle-bridge coupling vibration program grounded in train-curve bridge coupling vibration theory, validated using on-site measured data. Subsequently, through numerical simulation experiments, we evaluate 80 simply supported beam bridges on small-radius reverse curves under various operating conditions, generating ample dynamic response data for bridge pier tops and girders. These data are then compared with regulatory thresholds to assign dynamic performance labels. After identifying essential design parameters as data features using Fisher scores, we proceed to input these features into a support vector machine (SVM). Through supervised training with dynamic performance labels, this process empowers the SVM model to predict the dynamic performance of the bridge. Our results demonstrate that this method circumvents the need for detailed vehicle-bridge interaction analysis, yielding an impressive 86.9% accuracy in predicting dynamic performance and significantly boosting computational efficiency. Besides, the top five design parameters that significantly influence the prediction of bridge dynamic performance are obtained.
