We tested the hypothesis that the proportion of female patients or donors could correlate with the countries' GapIndex in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Gender Gap ranking list.3 I TableGender distribution in 184 368 patients and donors for HSCT in 39 countries and the association with their countries' global index (GapIndex) in the World Economic Forum gender gap ranking list. The proportion of I female donors i varied as widely but was lower than of male donors among HLA-identical sibling donor and other family donor transplants (47% vs 42% respectively), and even lower for unrelated donor transplants (31%; range 0-53%).
