Aim: The purpose of this study was to provide a comprehensive understanding of the attitudes and experiences of the medical staff regarding the hospital bed‐sharing model. Design: The present research was a qualitative study. Methods: This qualitative study used in‐depth individual interviews with 7 doctors, 10 clinical nurses and 3 head nurses, which were then transcribed and analysed thematically. Results: The study identified six overall themes. Issues were raised about the efficient utilization of hospital bed resources, greater challenges for nursing work, adjustment of doctors' work modes, barriers to communication between doctors, nurses, and patients, potential medical risks, and differentiation of patients' medical experience. Implications for Nursing Management: Hospital administrators and nurse managers should work together to solve the challenges that medical staff face, including strengthening nursing training, improving medical–nursing collaboration models, standardizing and effective communication strategies, and improving patient experiences. BACKGROUND: Ziziphus jujuba Miller cv. Dongzao is extremely susceptible to reddening, browning, nutritional loss, and perishability after harvest. In this study, we evaluated the mechanisms of calcium chloride and chitosan/nano‐silica composite film treatments on the quality, especially in reddening, by physiological and metabolomic assays. RESULTS: The treatment delayed the decline of phenylalanine ammonia‐lyase (PAL), chalcone synthase (CHS), and chalcone isomerase (CHI) activities. Meanwhile, the treated groups retarded the increases in anthocyanin and quercetin contents by inhibiting the gene expressions of flavonol synthase (ZjFLS), dihydroflavonol 4‐reductase (ZjDFR), and anthocyanidin synthase (ZjANS), while promoting leucoanthocyanidin reductase (ZjLAR) expression, which leads to retardation of fruit reddening. Anthocyanins were found to be responsible for post‐harvest winter jujube reddening through principal component analysis. Results from the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution indicated that the treated group delayed the decline of the quality of 'Dongzao' and extended its shelf life. CONCLUSION: The treatment induced the heightening of flavonoids metabolism. They enhanced the nutritional value and the ability to resist stress by delaying the decline of PAL, CHS, and CHI activities. Meanwhile, the treated groups retarded the increase in anthocyanin and quercetin contents by inhibiting the gene expressions of ZjFLS, ZjDFR, and ZjANS and promoting ZjLAR expression, which leads to retardation of fruit reddening. Anthocyanins are responsible for post‐harvest winter jujube reddening. Reversing left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) can reduce the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events. However, there is no clear superiority–inferiority differentiation between angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEI), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB), beta‐blockers (BB), calcium channel blockers (CCB), and diuretics in reversing LVH in hypertensive patients. To provide further evidence for choosing the optimal antihypertensive drug for improving LVH, we performed a network meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) based on the Cochrane library database, Embase, and Pubmed, and identified 49 studies involving 5402 patients that were eligible for inclusion. It was found that ARB could improve LVH in hypertensive patients more effectively than CCB (MD −4.07, 95%CI −8.03 to −0.24) and BB (MD −4.57, 95%CI −8.07 to −1.12). Matched comparison of renin‐angiotensin system inhibitors (RASi) showed that the effect of ACEI in reducing left ventricular mass index (LVMi) was not effective as that of ARB (MD −3.72, 95%CI −7.52 to −0.11). The surface under the cumulative ranking for each intervention indicated that the use of ARB was more effective among the different types of antihypertensive drugs (97%). This network meta‐analysis revealed that the use of ARB in antihypertensive therapy could achieve better efficacy in reversing LVH in hypertensive patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BNIP3 is a proapoptotic protein that mediates apoptosis, necrosis and autophagy. However, the involvement of BNIP3 in cisplatin‐induced apoptosis in ovarian cancer is not clear. In this study, we examined the role of BNIP3 in ovarian cancer during cisplatin treatment and its correlation with clinical outcomes. We first measured cisplatin cytotoxicity and BNIP3 levels before and after cisplatin exposure for ovarian cancer cell lines A2780, SKOV3, OVCAR4, OV2008, ES2 and HO8910. BNIP3 was observed to be differentially expressed in these cell lines, and cisplatin induced a significant increase in BNIP3 levels in A2780 and OVCAR4. BNIP3 knockdown with siRNA in A2780 and OVCAR4 significantly reduced cisplatin cytotoxicity in these two cell lines and alleviated cisplatin‐induced apoptosis. We searched the online databases Gene Expression Omnibus and The Cancer Genome Atlas to analyze the correlation between BNIP3 level and overall survival and progression‐free survival in patients with ovarian cancer. Pooled analyses showed that higher BNIP3 level was correlated with poorer overall survival (95% confidence intervals; hazard ratio = 1.18, 1.04–1.34; P = 0.013) and progression‐free survival (95% confidence intervals; hazard ratio = 1.26, 1.10–1.43; P = 0.00049). However, the results of individual datasets and stratification analyses of histology, FIGO (Federation Internationale de Gynecolgie et d'Obstetrique) stage, chemotherapy regimen and P53 mutation status varied. These findings indicate that cisplatin‐induced apoptosis is dependent on BNIP3 level in ovarian cancer cell lines. Targeting BNIP3 may therefore be a potential way of restoring cisplatin sensitivity. Enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2), which is overexpressed in a wide range of tumors, contributes to ovarian cancer malignancy in several different ways. We aimed to illustrate the role of EZH2 in ovarian cancer cisplatin resistance and to identify possible underlying mechanisms of this role that may provide a rationale for targeting EZH2 in cancer treatment. Here, we present data indicating that EZH2 overexpression is associated with cisplatin resistance and intracellular platinum drug accumulation. Measurements of EZH2 in 84 ovarian cancer patients suggested that patients with high EZH2 levels tend to have poor responses to cisplatin. The EZH2 level progressively increased in cells receiving repeated cisplatin exposure. Downregulation of EZH2 not only sensitized cellular reactions to cisplatin and increased cellular platinum accumulation when cells were exposed to both cisplatin and BODIPY‐Pt (a fluorescent cisplatin complex) but also protected copper transporter 1, a high‐affinity copper transporter closely related to cisplatin resistance, from cisplatin‐induced proteasomal degradation. Introduction: Lactate accumulation in the brain is caused by the anaerobic metabolism induced by ischemic damages, which always accompanies intracerebral hemorrhages (ICH). Our former findings showed that microglia's movement was always directly toward hemorrhagic center with the highest lactate concentration, and penumbra area has the largest density of compactly arrayed microglia. However, the relationship between microglia and lactate concentration has not been well documented., Methods: Cerebral hemorrhage model was successfully achieved by injecting collagenase VII (causing stabile localized bleeding) in CPu (striatum) of SD rats. Emodin was used as a potential therapeutic for ICH. The function of the lactate was examined with in vitro culture studies. Then, the effect of lactate on the proliferation, cell survival, migration, and phagocytosis property of microglia was investigated by in vitro culture studies., Results: Lactate accumulation was observed with in vivo MRS method, and its concentration was monitored during the recovery of ICH and treatment of emodin. Lactate concentration significantly increased in the core and penumbra regions of hemorrhagic foci, and it decreased after the treatment of emodin. The in vitro culture study was verified that lactate was beneficial for the proliferation, cell survival, migration, and phagocytosis property of the microglia., Conclusion: Results from in vitro verification study, investigations from the recovery of ICH, and treatment of emodin verify that lactate plays an important role during the recovery of ICH. The structure of the title compound, C(19)H(19)NO(2), contains a seven-membered ring, which is fused to one five- and one six-membered ring, and carries a tolyl substituent. The two benzene rings are oriented relative to each other at a dihedral angle of 86.90 (7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
