This research paper primarily focuses on the synchronization of a specific class of multi‐weighted coupled neural networks (MWCNNs) with switching topology, employing two adaptive control methods. In complex environments and under the influence of communication disturbances, the topology structures of coupled neural networks with multiple weights inevitably undergo time‐varying changes. To address this, we propose a novel type of MWCNNs with switching topologies. To ensure synchronization within this network, we develop sufficient conditions based on Lyapunov functional and inequality techniques. These conditions guarantee the achievement of synchronization. Moreover, we address the synchronization problem by employing node‐based and edge‐based adaptive controllers. Finally, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results. Background: The clinical strategy of oral supplementation of Vitamin D (VD) as a preventive and therapeutic measure for warts needs further exploration. Methods: The clinical data of patients with skin diseases who visited the Children's Hospital affiliated with Chongqing Medical University from February 2018 to June 2024 were collected. The serum VD levels in patients with warts (common warts, flat warts, and plantar warts) and patients with other common skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, vitiligo, and chronic urticaria) were compared. Two‐sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed to investigate potential causal associations between VD and warts. Results: The average serum VD level of children with warts was 23.27 ± 7.07 ng/mL, which showed no statistically significant difference compared to children with other common skin diseases. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method analysis indicated a positive causal relationship between VD and warts (Odds Ratio [OR] = 1.86, [95% CI: 1.19−2.92], p = 0.007). Sensitivity analysis did not show any indication of horizontal pleiotropy or heterogeneity. The MR‐PRESSO method did not identify any outliers. Conclusion: The levels of serum VD in children with warts do not significantly decrease compared to children with other common skin conditions. The evidence from the MR analysis indicates a positive causal relationship between VD and warts, suggesting caution in supplementing VD for children with warts who have normal or elevated serum VD levels. Objectives: This study aimed to explore the interactions between microbubbles and microwave ablation (MWA). Methods: The study employed custom‐made phantoms (in vitro) and white New Zealand rabbits (in vivo). MWA was performed with or without microbubbles in the phantoms (2 × 105 particles mL−1) and rabbit livers (intravenous injection of 0.05 mL/kg SonoVue). During the MWA, K‐type thermocouple probes were used to monitor the MWA‐induced temperature increase. Contrast‐enhanced ultrasound imaging (CEUS) was used to monitor and analyze the microbubbles signal intensity. After MWA, the ablation‐zone volumes were evaluated and compared between the groups with and without microbubbles. Results: In both the phantom models and rabbits, microbubbles showed no significant influence on MWA, including the ablation range and MWA‐induced temperature increase. In phantoms and rabbit livers filled with microbubbles, MWA caused the formation of a gradually expanding microbubble‐defect region over the ablation time. An increase in the temperature caused microbubble destruction. Conclusions: Microbubbles had no significant influence on MWA. However, MWA induced the destruction of microbubbles in a temperature‐dependent manner. Thus, the poor thermotolerance of microbubbles is a non‐negligible barrier when using CEUS to monitor the ablation range during MWA in real‐time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reproductive failure in cotton caused by drought has been reported to be closely associated with alterations in pistil fertility; however, the mechanism of the effect of drought on pistil fertility in cotton is less studied. We hypothesized that drought would inhibit the ovule formation to alter pistil potential fertility. To address this hypothesis, we conducted a water deficit induction experiment with a cotton cultivar, Dexiamian 1. Results showed that drought damaged the cytological structure of the developing ovules. This resulted in a lower ovule number, finally leading to lower cottonseed number and boll weight. And the decreased ovule number was closely related to the reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in pistil during ovule development. Further analysis of antioxidant metabolism found that in the enzymatic antioxidant system, drought decreased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), resulting in the accumulation of superoxide anion (O2•−$$ {{\mathrm{O}}_2}^{\bullet -} $$) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Regarding the non‐enzymatic antioxidant system, the elevated glutathione reductase gene (GhGR) expression under drought promoted the glutathione (GSH) accumulation; however, the decreased dehydroascorbate reductase gene (GhDHAR2) expression under drought inhibited the conversion of GSH to ascorbic acid (AsA). Although the increased monodehydroascorbate reductase gene (GhMDHAR) expression under drought promoted AsA accumulation, drought‐induced reduced ascorbate peroxidase gene (GhAPX) expression inhibited the reduction of H2O2 by AsA, which ultimately led to higher AsA content and H2O2 content. We conclude that drought impedes the ovule formation by disturbing pistil's antioxidant metabolic homeostasis to destruct the cytological structure of the developing ovules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ferroptosis is a necrotic form of iron‐dependent regulatory cell death. Estrogen withdrawal can interfere with iron metabolism, which is responsible for the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). Here, it is demonstrated that estrogen withdrawal induces iron accumulation in the skeleton and the ferroptosis of osteocytes, leading to reduced bone mineral density. Furthermore, the facilitatory effect of ferroptosis of osteocytes is verified in the occurrence and development of postmenopausal osteoporosis is associated with over activated osteoclastogenesis using a direct osteocyte/osteoclast coculture system and glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) knockout ovariectomized mice. In addition, the nuclear factor erythroid derived 2‐related factor‐2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway is confirmed to be a crucial factor in the ferroptosis of osteocytic cells. Nrf2 regulates the expression of nuclear factor kappa‐B ligand (RANKL) by regulating the DNA methylation level of the RANKL promoter mediated by DNA methyltransferase 3a (Dnmt3a), which is as an important mechanism in osteocytic ferroptosis‐mediated osteoclastogenesis. The Ilizarov technique has been continuously innovated to utilize tensile stress (TS) for inducing a bone development‐like regenerative process, aiming to achieve skeletal elongation and reconstruction. However, it remains uncertain whether this distraction osteogenesis (DO) process induced by TS involves the pivotal coupling of angiogenesis and osteogenesis mediated by type H endothelial cells (THECs). In this study, it is demonstrated that the Ilizarov technique induces the formation of a metaphysis‐like architecture composed of THECs, leading to segmental bone regeneration during the DO process. Mechanistically, cell‐matrix interactions‐mediated activation of yes‐associated protein (YAP)/transcriptional co‐activator with PDZ‐binding motif (TAZ) transcriptionally upregulates the expression of Notch1 and Delta‐like ligand 4, which act as direct positive regulators of THECs phenotype, in bone marrow endothelial cells (BMECs) upon TS stimulation. Simultaneously, the Notch intracellular domain enhances YAP/TAZ activity by transcriptionally upregulating YAP expression and stabilizing TAZ protein, thus establishing the YAP/TAZ‐Notch circuit. Additionally, TS‐stimulated BMECs secrete exosomes enriched with vital molecules in this positive feedback pathway, which can be utilized to promote segmental bone defect healing, mimicking the therapeutic effects of Ilizarov technique. The findings advance the understanding of TS‐induced segmental bone regeneration and establish the foundation for innovative biological therapeutic strategies aimed at activating THECs. Gneisses with anatectic characteristics from the Liansan island in the Sulu UHPM (ultra‐high pressure metamorphic) belt were studied for petrography, titanite U‐Pb dating and mineral geochemistry. Three origins of garnets are distinguished: metamorphic garnet, peritectic garnet and anatectic garnet, which are formed in the stages of peak metamorphism, retrograde anatexis and melt crystallization, respectively. The euhedral titanite has a high content of REE and high Th/U ratios, which is interpreted as indicating that it was newly‐formed from an anatectic melt. The LA‐ICP‐MS titanite U‐Pb dating yields 214–217 Ma ages for the titanite (melt) crystallization. The distribution of trace elements varies in response to the different host minerals at different stages. At the peak metamorphic stage, Y and HREE are mainly hosted by garnet, Ba and Rb by phengite, Sr, Nb, Ta, Pb, Th, U and LREE by allanite and Y, U and HREE by zircon. During partial melting, Y, Pb, Th, U and REE are released into the melt, which causes a dramatic decline of these element contents in the retrograde minerals. Finally, titanite absorbs most of the Nb, U, LREE and HREE from the melt. Therefore, the different stages of metamorphism have different mineral assemblages, which host different trace elements. Whether environmental responsibility can promote corporate performance has always been a focus of debate in theory and practice. We address the dispute regarding the effect of environmental responsibility by focusing on small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) in China. Furthermore, based on team faultline theory, we argue that top management team (TMT) faultlines and bankruptcy threat combine to affect the relationship between environmental responsibility and long‐term performance in SMEs. Using data from 410 Chinese companies listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) during 2011–2020, we find that SMEs that engage in more environmental responsibility tend to have worse long‐term performance. Additionally, this relationship varies depending on the conditions of TMT composition (i.e., faultlines) and situation (i.e., bankruptcy threat). Specifically, when the bankruptcy threat is high, TMT faultlines negatively affect the relationship between environmental responsibility and long‐term firm performance. However, TMT faultlines positively affect this relationship when the bankruptcy threat is low. This paper sheds new light on corporate environmental responsibility by adopting a theoretical perspective of TMT faultlines and identifying the specific situations in which TMT faultlines act. Objective: The outcome of congenital clubfoot treatment is still challenging if the feet deformities are not completely corrected. Here we explore a minimal invasive procedure with an eight‐plate implant to correct the residual forefoot adduction deformity after treatment of neglected or relapsed clubfoot. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with residual forefoot adduction deformity after clubfoot treatment between January 2013 and June 2016. The patients underwent temporary epiphysiodesis of the lateral column of the mid‐foot, which in detail, an eight‐plate was placed on each side of the calcaneocuboid joint. The foot deformities were recorded according to the weight‐bearing radiographic measurements including talo‐first metatarsal angle, calcaneo‐fifth metatarsal angle and medial‐to‐lateral column length. Results: A total of 13 patients (20 feet) with an average age of 7.8 years old were located with an average duration of 40.8 months follow‐up (range, 28 to 54 months). The average talo‐first metatarsal angle improved from 28.3° (range, 19° to 47°) preoperatively to 8.3° (range, 3° to 18°) and the calcaneo‐fifth metatarsal angle improved from 29.1° (range, 19° to 40°) preoperatively to 8.4° (range, 0° to 21°) at final follow‐up. The mean ratio of the medial‐to‐lateral column length improved from 1.14 ± 0.06 to 1.55 ± 0.09 with statistical significance (t = 3.566; P < 0.001). Conclusions: Eight‐plate epiphysiodesis is an easy and effective method for the correction of residual forefoot adduction deformity after clubfoot treatment in growing children without the need of osteotomy. Two types of retrograded eclogite (phengite‐bearing eclogite and garnet pyroxenite) within eclogite‐facies granitic gneisses are reported for the first time from the Younusisayi area of the South Altyn high to ultrahigh pressure (HP–UHP) metamorphic belt. These eclogites were studied using petrology, mineral chemistry, phase equilibrium modelling, and geochronology. The phengite‐bearing eclogite records five stages of metamorphism: (1) early prograde (Grt + Cpx + Amp + Rt + Qz) at conditions of P = 11.50–17.5 kbar, T = 665–740°C; (2) peak eclogite‐facies (Grt + Omp + Ph + Rt + Qz) at conditions of P > 24.2 kbar, T = 710–1000°C; (3) overprinting during retrograde transition to HP granulite‐facies conditions (Grt + Cpx ± Kfs + Pl + Rt + Qz) at P = 12.1–16.9 kbar and T = 760–890°C; (4) retrogression at granulite‐facies conditions (Grt + Cpx + Amp + Pl + Ilm + Qz) of P = 9.1–11.4 kbar, T = 730–840°C; and (5) amphibolite‐facies metamorphism (Amp + Pl + Ilm + Qz) during cooling and decompression. The garnet pyroxenite records four stages of metamorphism: (1) eclogite‐facies at conditions of P > 23.2 kbar, T = 775–965°C; (2) HP granulite‐facies conditions of P = 13.2–17.8 kbar and T = 836–912°C; (3) granulite‐facies conditions of P = 8.6–9.7 kbar, T = 739–783°C; and (4) amphibolite‐facies metamorphism. Zircon U–Pb dating and trace element analysis constrain eclogite‐facies metamorphism to c. 500 Ma, consistent with the age of the surrounding eclogite‐facies granitic gneiss (497.8 ± 2.7 Ma). Retrograde metamorphism ages of c. 460 Ma are interpreted as recording zircon growth after granulite‐facies metamorphism. The P–T–t path defines the integrated process of deep subduction and multistage exhumation and places constraints on the early Palaeozoic geodynamics of the South Altyn belt. Well‐preserved major and trace element zoning of garnets in the Ph‐bearing eclogites lacks evidence of significant thermal diffusion and may record garnet growth during deep subduction, immediately followed by very rapid exhumation. We conjugated aldehyde‐BODIPY with the water‐soluble iodopropionic‐acid‐hemicyanine to develop a new dual‐color fluorescence probe (BHC) for selective and sensitive monitoring of endogenous SO2 for the first time. Through excellent water solubility and the unique nucleophilic addition reaction, BHC has a higher selectivity for the colorimetric monitoring of SO2 than other related substances. The resulting probe BHC has red emission, and can be converted to green emission after reacting with SO2. Then the dual‐color fluorescence probe was further applied to image intracellular endogenous generated SO32−/HSO3− by the metabolism of living cells with satisfactory results. ABSTRACT The relationships between the chemical structures and hydration environment of the polymers can provide significant insight into the water-amphiphilic polymer interactions. Here, the hydrophobicity of amphiphilic block copolymers poly(ethylene tartaramide- b-alkyl isocyanate) is gradually tuned by using of a series of pendant alkyl (isopropyl, n-butyl, cyclopentyl, and cyclohexyl) groups. Dynamics of hydration probed by low-field NMR relaxometry exhibits a heterogeneous environment of water molecules, corresponding to tightly bound water with slow re-orientational mobility and loosely bound water with fast re-orientational mobility. Progressively larger amounts of bound water are present in the copolymers, ongoing from pendant isopropyl, n-butyl, cyclopentyl, and finally to cyclohexyl group. Water in the copolymer bearing the cyclohexyl group has a significantly high partial specific heat capacity. Therefore, hydrophobic interaction between the polymer and water is enhanced when the hydrophobicity of the polymer is increased, resulting in considerable hydrophobic hydration with decreased mobility of the bound water. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nowadays, there are a few steroid drugs or intermediates that have been obtained via the transformation of microorganisms, and many strains of transformed steroids have not been found yet. Therefore, it is very significant to screen for the strains that have the abilities to transform steroids to produce valuable products. This study has focused on the screen and identification of strains, the structural identification of converted products, and the optimization of transformation conditions, as well as the establishment of transformation systems. A soil microbiota was screened for strain involved in the biotransformation of steroids. A new isolate IS547 is capable of converting a variety of steroids (such as cholesterol, ergosterol, hydrocortisone, progesterone, pregnenolone, and 16,17-alpha-epoxypregnenolone). Based on the 18S rDNA gene sequence comparison, the isolate IS547 has been demonstrated to be very closely related to Cladosporium sp. genus. Present paper is the first report regarding the microbial transformation by Cladosporium sp. to produce active intermediates, which include 7-hydroxy cholesterol, 20-droxyl-16α,17α-epoxypregna-4-dien-3-one, 7-ketocholesterol, and 7-droxyl-16α,17α-epoxypregna-4-dien-3,20-dione. Under the optimum conditions, the yields of product 3 and product 4 were 20.58 and 17.42%, respectively, higher than that prior to the optimization. The transformation rate increased significantly under the optimum fermentation conditions. The novel reductive graphene oxide-based magnetic molecularly imprinted poly(ethylene- co-vinyl alcohol) polymers (rGO@m-MIPs) were successfully synthesized as adsorbents for six kinds of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in fish samples. rGO@m-MIPs was prepared by surface molecular imprinting technique. Besides, Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) were employed as magnetic supporters, and rGO@Fe3O4 was in situ synthesis. Different from functional monomer and cross-linker in traditional molecularly imprinted polymer, here, 3,4-dichlorobenzidine was employed as dummy molecular and poly(ethylene- co-vinyl alcohol) was adopted as the imprinted polymers. After morphology and inner structure of the magnetic adsorbent were characterized, the adsorbent was employed for disperse solid phase extraction toward PCBs and exhibited great selectivity and high adsorption efficiency. This material was verified by determination of PCBs in fish samples combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method. According to the detection, the low detection limits (LODs) of PCBs were 0.0035-0.0070 µg l−1 and spiked recoveries ranged between 79.90 and 94.23%. The prepared adsorbent can be renewable for at least 16 times and expected to be a new material for the enrichment and determination of PCBs from contaminated fish samples. Changshagou adakite, an outcrop in the middle segment of the South Altyn Tagh ultra-high pressure metamorphism (UHPM) terrane, contains medium-K cal-alkaline and weakly peraluminous compositions (SiO2= 66.79% to 68.65%, Al2O3= 17.48% to 18.31%, K2O + Na2O = 6.32% to 6.88%, K2O/Na2O = 0.25 to 0.33, A/CNK = 1.01 to 1.06). This outcrop is also enriched with large ion lithophile elements but with depleted high-field strength elements (HFSE) showing clearly negative Nb, Ta, and Ti anomalies. REE distribution patterns show a positive anomaly of Eu (δEu = 1.15 to 1.31) and weakly enriched with LREE compared with HREE (LREE/HREE = 1.02 to 4.20). Experimental results and several characteristics, including relatively low Nb/Ta ratios (6.03 to 8.45) and high Sr, Sr/Y, (La/Yb)N and low Y and Yb, which indicate the presence of residual garnet and the absence of plagioclase in the source region, show that adakite may form at a pressure ranging from 1.2 GPa to 1.5 GPa and at a temperature of approximately 900°C. Low Cr, Ni, and Mg# values, trace element patterns, and SiO2-Mg# and SiO2-MgO diagrams indicate that rocks are formed by the partial melting of a thickened lower continental crust LA-ICP-MS in situ U-Pb dating yields two group ages: 503.1 ± 1.7 Ma (core) and 453.1 ± 3.0 Ma (rim). The Th/U ratios of the core and the rim are 0.11 to 0.40 and 0.03 to 0.07, respectively. Considering the zircon CL image characteristics, Th/U ratios, and previous studies on regional UHPM rocks, adakite formed at 503.1 ± 1.7 Ma and underwent a tectothermal event as a result of the break-off of the Altyn deep subducted continental crust at 453.1 ± 3.0 Ma. A novel sandwich-type electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor was developed to enable the sensitive detection of HIV-1 antibodies. This system incorporated mesoporous silica (mSiO2) complexed with quantum dots (QDs) and nano-gold particles, which were assembled to enhance signal detection. Magnetic beads were used by immobilizing the secondary anti-IgG antibody. This was first employed to capture HIV-1 antibody (Ab) to form a Fe3O4/anti-IgG/Ab complex. A high loading and signal-enhanced nanocomposite (hereafter referred to as Au-mSiO2-CdTe) was used as a HIV-1 antigen label. The Au-mSiO2-CdTe nanocomposite was conjugated with the Fe3O4/anti-IgG/Ab complex to form an immunocomplex (hereafter referred to as Fe3O4/anti-IgG/Ab/HIV-1/CdTe-mSiO2-Au). This complex could be further separated by an external magnetic field to produce ECL signals. Due to the large specific surface area and pore volume of mSiO2, the loading of the CdTe QDs was markedly increased. Thus, the loaded QDs released a powerful chemiluminescent signal with a concordantly increased sensitivity of the immunosensor. The immunosensor was highly sensitive, and displayed a linear range of responses for HIV-1 antibody across a dilution range of 1 : 1500 through 1 : 50 with the detection limit of 1 : 4500. In this article, we report the rapid and facile synthesis of chiral 3‐methyl‐2,5‐trans‐tetrahydrofurans. This reaction utilizes cheap and easily available starting materials. A domino hydrolysis and intramolecular Michael‐type ring closure reaction was the key step. As a result, synthesis of the desired 3‐methyl‐2,5‐trans‐tetrahydrofurans could be achieved in gram‐scale over seven linear steps with high chemical yield and high diastereoselectivity.
