Bilateral thermal capsulotomy with magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound for patients with treatment-resistant depression: A proof-of-concept study Magnetic resonance-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) is a safe and effective treatment modality for capsulotomy in patients with treatment-resistant depression. The patients underwent depression assessments using the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) at baseline, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and 12 months following the MRgFUS.
