Summary: Frequent germline mutations of HAVCR2, recently identified in subcutaneous panniculitis‐like T‐cell lymphoma (SPTCL), are associated with an increased risk of hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). However, SPTCL‐HLH represents a challenge because of the difficulties in treatment with poor survival. Its malignant nature, specifically harbouring HAVCR2 mutations, has also been questioned. To better understand its pathology and treatment, we analysed the clinical data of six patients diagnosed at our centre. The median age at onset was 10.5 years (range, 0.8–12.4). Five patients presented with skin lesions of subcutaneous nodules/plaques and/or ulceration. All patients developed HLH; notably, one infant only had HLH without skin involvement. Histopathologically, only two patients were diagnosed with SPTCL and three were reported as panniculitis with no sufficient evidence of lymphoma. Genetically, germline homozygous mutation of HAVCR2 (p.Y82C) was identified in all patients, with a median diagnosis time of 4.6 months. All patients initially received corticosteroids, immunosuppressants or chemotherapy, achieving unfavourable responses. Strikingly, they responded well to ruxolitinib targeting inflammatory cytokines, allowing rapid disease resolution and/or long‐term maintenance of remission. The excellent efficacy of ruxolitinib highlights this disease as an inflammatory condition instead of neoplastic nature and indicates novel agents targeting key inflammatory pathways as an encouraging approach for this disease entity. Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs)@g‐C3N4 heterojunctions are widely investigated as one of the most potential photocatalysts for N2 fixation owing to the visible absorption and effective photocatalytic properties. It is still a huge challenge to synthesize hollow spherical C3N4 coated with Nano‐MOF layers towards efficient visible photocatalytic activity on N2 fixation. In this work, the paramagnetic hollow spherical C3N4 (H‐C3N4) are coated with free radical MOF with sulfhydryl ligand (Nano‐SH‐MOF)[Zn2(DSBDC)] by self‐assemble method. The C8 M2 samples (the mass ratio of H‐C3N4 to Nano‐SH‐MOF is 8 : 2) exhibited an improved photocatalytic activity, which is almost 5.4 times higher than the pure H‐C3N4. The improved photocatalytic activity is also discussed in this work. It can be imagined that this work may be helpful for the hollow spherical C3N4 based heterojunction and MOF‐based heterojunction photocatalysts with effective photocatalytic nitrogen fixation. Uncontrolled dendrites growth and serious parasitic reactions in aqueous electrolytes, greatly hinder the practical application of aqueous zinc‐ion battery. On the basis of in situ‐chemical construction and performance‐improving mechanism, multifunctional fluoroethylene carbonate (FEC) is introduced into aqueous electrolyte to construct a high‐quality and ZnF2‐riched inorganic/organic hybrid SEI (ZHS) layer on Zn metal anode (ZMA) surface. Notably, FEC additive can regulate the solvated structure of Zn2+ to reduce H2O molecules reactivity. Additionally, the ZHS layer with strong Zn2+ affinity can avoid dendrites formation and hinder the direct contact between the electrolyte and anode. Therefore, the dendrites growth, Zn corrosion, and H2 evolution reaction on ZMA in FEC‐included ZnSO4 electrolyte are highly suppressed. Thus, ZMA in such electrolyte realize a long cycle life over 1000 h and deliver a stable coulombic efficiency of 99.1 % after 500 cycles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A novel family of mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) with the combination of ferroelectric fluropolymers matrix (P(VDF‐CTFE)) and ferroelectric MOFs fillers ([NH3(CH2)4NH3][M(HCOO)3]2(MCoII, MgII, and MnII), have been synthesized and characterized, including the morphology, structures, and dielectric properties. Dielectric measurements revealed that the permittivity of the composites improved notablely with the introduction of ferroelectric MOFs fillers, while the dielectric loss was comparable to that of the polymer matrix. And also, interestingly, the enhancement of permittivity evidently dependent on the quantity and dielectric behavior of MOFs fillers, which may be valuable to the dielectric regulation of the polymer/MOFs MMMs. In addition, two different preparation methods were adopted respectively, including blending and electrospinning‐hot pressing. The comparison of the two preparation methods revealed that the blending MMMs exhibit higher permittivity and higher dielectric loss than that of the electrospinning‐hot pressing MMMs. To our knowledge, this is a novel research of high‐εr dielectric MMMs fabricated by ferroelectric MOFs and ferroelectric fluropolymers, and this work may provide a new perspective on the further research of high‐κ dielectric MMMs and the industrial application of ferroelectric MOFs. It is a challenge to synthesize metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) catalysts with high catalytic activity and stability under reaction conditions. For this study, the combinations of two‐dimensional (2D) ultrathin nickel‐organic framework (Ni‐UMOF) with layered graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) or graphene oxide (GO) as promising composite catalysts for the hydrogenation of 4‐nitrophenol were reported. The ultrathin nanosheet composites (Ni‐UMOF/g‐C3N4 and Ni‐UMOF/GO) are obtained by a simple sol‐gel method and exhibit higher hydrogenation activity and recyclability than commercial Pd/C or Pt/C catalysts. The structures and properties of the catalysts are elucidated by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), fourier transform infrared spectra (FT‐IR), Raman, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV‐Vis), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron spin‐resonance spectroscopy (ESR) and temperature‐programmed reduction (TPR). The results reveal that oxygen vacancies are produced on the surface of Ni‐UMOF composites and act as the dominating active sites during hydrogenation process. Developing active, stable, and cost‐effective water splitting catalysts is a critical step towards a sustainable energy future. Heterostructures of transition metal chalcogenides have emerged as important candidates for catalyzing oxygen evolution reaction (OER) or hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), due to the synergistic effects originating from the increased active sites or accelerated electron transfer. Current limitation to this strategy lies in the complication of synthesis often resorting to the direct growth of hybrid structures on a conductive current collector. Here, a simple approach is selected to synthesize graphitic carbon layer coated Ni3S2/MoS2 heterostructures (denoted as NMC) with a facile scaffold‐free solvothermal method followed by controlled pyrolysis. The NMC obtained at 600 °C behave as durable, efficient oxygen and hydrogen evolution electrodes with overpotentials of 350 mV and 233 mV respectively at 10 mA cm−2 in 1.0 M KOH. In addition, the catalysts demonstrate a high efficiency for overall water splitting. Two new gallium corrole complexes, 10-(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl) -5, 15-bis(pentafluorophenyl)corrolatogallium(III)( 1-Ga) and 5,15-bis(4-Methoxycarbonylphenyl)-10-(pentafluorophenyl)corrolatogallium(III)( 2-Ga), were synthesized and characterized. The interaction of these gallium corrole complexes with CT-DNA was studied by fluorescence methods, UV-visible, viscosity measurements, molecular docking as well as agarose gel electrophoresis. The results revealed that both 1-Ga and 2-Ga interact with DNA via major groove binding and could cleavage the supercoiled plasmid DNA efficiently under irradiation. The inhibitor and singlet oxygen test indicated that singlet oxygen was the reactive oxygen species involved in the photocleavage DNA initiated by 1-Ga or 2-Ga. Cell viability experiments indicated that 1-Ga and 2-Ga show high photocytotoxicity and low dark toxicity towards tested QGY-7701 and MHCC-H/L tumor cell lines. Fluorescence probe tests showed the absorbed 1-Ga and 2-Ga in tumor cells are mainly localized in mitochondria, and the mitochondria membrane potential disruption was observed after irradiation. We study the exponential stability of Euler-Bernoulli beam with interior time delays and boundary damping. At first, we prove the well-posedness of the system by the C0 semigroup theory. Next we study the exponential stability of the system by constructing appropriate Lyapunov functionals. We transform the exponential stability issue into the solvability of inequality equations. By analyzing the relationship between delays parameters α and damping parameters β, we describe (β,)-region for which the system is exponentially stable. A Gram-positive, facultative anaerobic, rod-shaped, and endospore-forming strain, designated 53-2T was isolated from the root nodule of Oxytropis ochrocephala Bunge growing on Qilian mountain, China. The strain can grow at pH 7.0-8.0, 10-50 °C and tolerate up to 11% NaCl. Optimal growth occurred at pH 7.2 and 37 °C. The result of BLASTn search based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain 53-2T, being closest related to Bacillus acidicola 105-2T, possessed remote similarity (less than 95.64%) to the species within genus Bacillus. The DNA G + C content was 37.8%. Chemotaxonomic data (major quinone is MK-7; major polar lipids are diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, unknown phospholipid, and aminoglycophospholipid; fatty acids are anteiso-C15: 0, iso-C15:0 and anteiso-C17: 0) supported the affiliation of the isolate to the genus Bacillus. On the basis of physiological, phylogenetic, and biochemical properties, strain 53-2T represents a novel species within genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus radicibacter is proposed. ABSTRACT Thermoresponsive amphiphilic copolymer, poly[ N-isopropyl acrylamide- co-3-(trimethoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate]- b-poly{ N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]methacrylamide} with a branched structure was designed and synthesized by consecutive reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer polymerization. The further hydrolysis of trimethoxysilyl functions in 3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyl methacrylate units led to the fabrication of core-crosslinked (CCL) micelles with silica crosslinks at temperatures above the lower critical solution temperature of the poly( N-isopropyl acrylamide) block. The thermally induced structural and morphological changes of the CCL micelles in aqueous solution were investigated by transmission electron microscopy and 1H-NMR analyses. The resulting CCL micelles were further explored as nanocarriers for the codelivery of an anticancer drug and nucleic acid for enhanced therapeutic efficacy. The CCL micelles effectively condensed the nucleic acid and mediated higher gene transfer in the presence of serum than in serum-free transduction. A cytotoxicity study revealed that whereas the pure CCL micelles exhibited unapparent cytotoxicity, the codelivery of p53 and doxorubicin with the CCL micelle formulation resulted in better treatment efficiency than sole chemotherapy. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This letter presents two ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas with 3.4/5.5 GHz dual-notched bands. The U- and V-slots are used to reject the frequency band (3.3–4.2 GHz) limited by C-band satellite communication and Wimax systems. Another rejection band (5.15–5.825 GHz), limited by IEEE 802.11b or HIPERLAN/2 system, is obtained by using the U/V-slot defected ground structure. Experimental results indicate that these antennas cover the entire UWB for voltage standing wave radio <2, except two notched bands. Moreover, these antennas have omnidirectional radiation patterns in the H-plane and good gain flatness. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Tripterygium glycosides (TG), extracted from the Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook. f, is a widely used anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent with definite nephrotoxicity. However, its toxic mechanism remained undiscovered. The aim of this study was to characterize the potential toxicity of TG on segments of proximal tubule in rats. Six hundred and 1200 mg/kg of TG was administered by daily intragastric instillation for 16 days. A significant reduction of p-aminohippurate accumulation by renal cortical slices indicated that TG damaged organic anion transporter (OAT) system that localized at the proximal tubule, especially S2 segment. A dramatic loss of kidney glutamine synthetase (GS) activity induced by TG reflected S3 segment damage. Because mRNA expression of OAT1, OAT3, and GS was decreased substantially, we ascribe the fall of p-aminohippurate accumulation and GS activity to alterations at the transcriptional level. A dose-related diminution of kidney glutathione S-transferase activity was noted simultaneously, suggesting oxidative stress involvement. Histopathological lesions were observed in the TG intoxicated rat kidney even though there were no obvious changes of serum urea and creatinine at this dose level. In summary, we provided evidences supporting that TG caused segment-specific dysfunction in the kidney proximal tubule. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Precise adjusting the band gaps in metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is crucial for improving their visible‐light absorption capacity during photocatalysis, presenting both a formidable challenge and a charming opportunity. This present study employed a symmetry‐reduction strategy to pre‐design six novel 4‐connected ligands with systematic substituents (−NO2, ‐H, ‐tBu, ‐OCH3, ‐OH and ‐NH2) and synthesized the corresponding pillared‐layer Zr‐MOFs (NKM‐668) retaining the hexaphenylbenzene fragment. Subsequently, the NKM‐668 MOFs were transformed into large‐π‐conjugated hexabenzocoronene‐based MOFs (pNKM‐668) via the Scholl reaction. These twelve MOFs exhibited broad and tunable band gaps over 1.41 eV (ranging from 3.25 eV to 1.84 eV), and the photocatalytic CO2 conversion rate raised by 33.2‐fold. This study not only enriches the type of hexaphenylbenzene‐based MOFs, but also paves the way for nanographene‐containing MOFs in the further application of photocatalysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
