Objectives: This study aims to develop and validate a prediction model for preterm birth in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Design: We conducted a retrospective study on women with GDM who gave birth at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‐sen University, Guangzhou, China, between November 2017 and July 2021. We divided 1879 patients into a development set (n = 1346) and a validation set (n = 533). The development set was used to construct the prediction model for preterm birth using the stepwise logistic regression model. A nomogram and a web calculator were established based on the model. Discrimination and calibration were assessed in both sets. Patients and Measurements: Patients were women with GDM. Data were collected from medical records. GDM was diagnosed with 75‐g oral glucose tolerance test during 24‐28 gestational weeks. Preterm birth was definied as gestational age at birth <37 weeks. Results: The incidence of preterm birth was 9.4%. The predictive model included age, assisted reproductive technology, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, reproductive system inflammation, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, high‐density lipoprotein, homocysteine, and fasting blood glucose of 75‐g oral glucose tolerance test. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for the development and validation sets was 0.722 and 0.632, respectively. The model has been adequately calibrated using a calibration curve and the Hosmer–Lemeshow test, demonstrating a correlation between the predicted and observed risk. Conclusion: This study presents a novel, validated risk model for preterm birth in pregnant women with GDM, providing an individualized risk estimation using clinical risk factors in the third trimester of pregnancy. Introduction: Postpartum depression affects both mothers and fathers. This study aimed to examine the relationships between social support, parenting self‐efficacy, and postpartum depression in Chinese mothers and fathers and assess the mediating effect of parenting self‐efficacy using a dyadic perspective. Methods: A cross‐sectional study was implemented from December 2020 to July 2021 in Guangzhou, China, with 309 pairs of parents. The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, Parenting Sense of Competence Scale‐Efficacy subscale, and sociodemographic data sheet were completed by both parents. Dyadic analysis was conducted using the actor‐partner interdependence mediation model. An actor effect is the relationship between variables within an individual, whereas a partner effect is the relationship between variables in the individual and the dyadic partner. Results: In total, 20.7% of mothers and 11.7% of fathers had elevated postpartum depressive symptoms at 6 weeks postpartum. The model revealed 6 actor effects: social support was positively associated with parenting self‐efficacy for mothers (β, 0.39; 95% CI, 0.28‐0.49) and fathers (β, 0.39; 95% CI, 0.30‐0.48) and negatively associated with postpartum depression for mothers (β, −0.22; 95% CI, −0.32 to −0.12) and fathers (β, −0.37; 95% CI, −0.48 to −0.26). Parenting self‐efficacy was negatively associated with postpartum depression in mothers (β, −0.41; 95% CI, −0.53 to −0.29) and fathers (β, −0.24; 95% CI, −0.37 to −0.12). Maternal social support had a partner effect on paternal parenting self‐efficacy (β, 0.14; 95% CI, 0.04‐0.24). Parenting self‐efficacy mediated between social support and postpartum depression for both parents (mothers: β, −0.16; 95% CI, −0.23 to −0.10; fathers: β, −0.10; 95% CI, −0.16 to −0.05). Discussion: Postpartum depression was a dyadic phenomenon. Introduction: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common medical complication in pregnancy. Moderate‐intensity physical activity during pregnancy can lower the risk of GDM. However, the relationship between moderate‐intensity physical activity and correlated factors among pregnant people at high risk for GDM remains unknown. Methods: A cross‐sectional study was conducted in China. Two hundred fifty‐two participants completed the Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire, Pregnancy Physical Activity Self‐Efficacy Scale, Physical Activity Knowledge Questionnaire, Physical Activity Social Support Scale, 7‐item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale, Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale, and a sociodemographic data sheet. Structural equation modeling was used to explore the direct and indirect associations between the study variables. Results: A total of 51.6% of the participants did not meet the current physical activity guidelines. Only physical activity self‐efficacy was significantly correlated with moderate‐intensity physical activity. Physical activity self‐efficacy mediated the relationship between moderate‐intensity physical activity and knowledge of physical activity, social support for physical activity, and anxiety symptoms. Furthermore, knowledge of physical activity was also associated with improved moderate‐intensity physical activity mediated by reduced anxiety symptoms and increased physical activity self‐efficacy. Conclusion: Our study revealed a high prevalence of not meeting current physical activity guidelines among pregnant people at high risk for GDM. Physical activity self‐efficacy played an important mediating role in predicting moderate‐intensity physical activity. Mounting evidence has highlighted the multifunctional characteristics of glutamine metabolism (GM) in cancer initiation, progression and therapeutic regimens. However, the overall role of GM in the tumour microenvironment (TME), clinical stratification and therapeutic efficacy in patients with ovarian cancer (OC) has not been fully elucidated. Here, three distinct GM clusters were identified and exhibited different prognostic values, biological functions and immune infiltration in TME. Subsequently, glutamine metabolism prognostic index (GMPI) was constructed as a new scoring model to quantify the GM subtypes and was verified as an independent predictor of OC. Patients with low‐GMPI exhibited favourable survival outcomes, lower enrichment of several oncogenic pathways, less immunosuppressive cell infiltration and better immunotherapy responses. Single‐cell sequencing analysis revealed a unique evolutionary trajectory of OC cells from high‐GMPI to low‐GMPI, and OC cells with different GMPI might communicate with distinct cell populations through ligand‐receptor interactions. Critically, the therapeutic efficacy of several drug candidates was validated based on patient‐derived organoids (PDOs). Topological transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted much attention due to their potential applications in spintronics and quantum computations. In this work, the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 are systematically investigated under high pressure. A pressure‐induced Lifshitz transition is evidenced by the change of charge carrier type as well as the Fermi surface. Superconductivity is observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome‐shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Furthermore, the theoretical calculations suggest the presence of multiple pressure‐induced topological quantum phase transitions, which coexists with emergence of superconductivity. The results demonstrate that ZrTe2 with nontrivial topology of electronic states displays new ground states upon compression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To study the efficacy of octreotide to reduce lymphorrhea and prevent lymphocele after pelvic lymph node excision in gynecological malignancies. Methods: Patients with more than 200 mL of lymph drained per day until postoperative day 3 after pelvic lymph node excision were enrolled. Of the 75 patients, 36 were managed by conservative methods without the injection of octreotide, and the other 39 patients were treated with the injection of octreotide. The treated group was injected with 0.1 mg octreotide q8h for 5 days, starting on postoperative day 3. The drainage tube was removed when the amount of drained lymph decreased to 100 mL per day. The age, BMI, operation time, removed lymph nodes, amount of lymph, duration of drain placement, proportion of patients with lymphocele and complications between these two group were compared. Results: The total and mean daily amount of lymph produced per patient was significantly lower in the octreotide‐treated group than in the untreated group. The duration of drain placement was shorter in the octreotide group than in the untreated group. The proportion of patients with lymphocele in the treatment group was lower than that in the untreated group. Conclusions: The injection of octreotide is effective to reduce lymphorrhea and prevent lymphocele after pelvic lymph node excision in gynecological malignancies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: Cultural orientation and interdependent self-construal can moderate the relationship between perceived pro-generation investment and future orientation of young adults. To test how interdependent self-construal moderate the relationship between pro-generation investment and future orientation of young adults from two different cultural ecologies was the aim of the current study.Methods: A cross-cultural comparison was conducted among study participants from China, Germany, and the United States. Interdependent self-construal, perceived pro-generation investment by parents (parental investment), and future orientation were measured. Cross-cultural data were collected from 205 college students in China, a collectivist culture, and 169 college students in Germany (n = 50) and the United States (n = 119), which are individualist cultures. We examined a three-way interaction with cultural orientation and interdependent self-construal as moderators in the relationship between perceived parental investment and future orientation.Results: In the collectivist cultural context, there appeared no moderating effect of interdependent self-construal on the relationship between perceived parental investment and future orientation, although interdependent self-construal and perceived parental investment predicted future orientation. In the individualistic cultural context, there was a moderating effect. For individuals high in interdependent self-construal, future orientation remained stable as perceived parental investment increased. For individuals low in interdependent self-construal, future orientation decreased as perceived parental investment increased.Conclusions: The findings have practical implications in that parents should follow the cultural orientation of their background and provide their children with individualized investment and education to shape the future orientation of their offspring. Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of potentially inappropriate medication (PIM) prescribing and its number‐dependent association (PIM = 1, 2, ≥3) with all‐cause hospitalizations, emergency department (ED) visits, and medication expenditures in Beijing, China. Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis was conducted to analyse PIM prescribing in community‐dwelling older adults aged ≥65 years within the Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Database (data from July to September 2016). The prevalence of PIMs was estimated based on the 2015 Beers Criteria. Logistic models were utilized to investigate the associations between PIM use and all‐cause hospitalizations and ED visits. Generalized linear models with the logic link and gamma distribution were used to analyse associations between PIM use and medication expenditures. Results: Among the 506 214 older adults, the prevalence of PIM was 38.07%. After adjusting for covariables, prescribing two and three or more PIMs was associated with increased risks of hospitalizations (PIM = 2: odds ratio [OR] 1.34, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.22–1.47; PIM ≥ 3: OR = 1.47, 95% CI: 1.32–1.63) and ED visits (PIM = 2: OR = 1.29, 95% CI 1.12–1.48; PIM ≥ 3: OR = 1.23, 95% CI: 1.04–1.44). Exposures to two and three or more PIMs were associated with higher medication expenditures for inpatient visits (PIM = 2: incidence rate ratio [IRR] = 1.08, 95% CI 1.01–1.16; PIM ≥ 3: IRR = 1.18, 95% CI: 1.08–1.28). Vasodilators were the most frequent PIM prescribing group among patients who were hospitalized or had to visit the ED. Conclusions: PIMs were prescribed at a high rate among community‐dwelling older adults in Beijing. Two or more PIMs were associated with increased risks of hospitalizations, ED visits, and increased inpatient medication expenditures. Environmental regulation has attracted a great deal of attention between air pollution and innovation, but rarely individual perspective. This study attempts to reveal the impact of air pollution on regional innovation through individual health. The methodology applies dynamic panel model and system GMM estimation dealing with endogeneity issue and using China's provincial panel data from 1998 to 2018. Empirical analysis shows that air pollution has significant negative effects on regional innovation. With every 1% increase in PM2.5 concentration, patent applications decrease by 0.186%. Correction and replacement of the dependent variable, classifying samples, and using subsamples all show that the results are robust. Parallel multiple mediator model is adopted to analyze the influence mechanism. It can be found that the physical and mental health of R&D personnel plays a significant mediator role. It can be constructive to regional innovation to reduce air pollution while maintaining innovation capital investment; and improve R&D personnel health while reducing their work pressure. Background: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) continues to be a major cause of visual impairment and blindness in premature infants and children. Objectives: To investigate the incidence of severe ROP receiving treatment in extremely preterm (EP) infants in China over time. The risk factors for ROP treatment were also assessed. Methods: This was a multicentre retrospective study and a subanalysis of baseline data from the "Outcomes of EP infants in China 2010–2019" study. This study was conducted in 68 tertiary neonatal care centres from 31 provinces of China. Infants with a gestational age of 230–276 weeks and admitted to a neonatal unit within the first 72 h of life between 2010 and 2019 were enrolled. Incidence of ROP was analysed in infants who survived to 32 weeks postmenstrual age and screened for ROP. Multivariable modified Poisson regression models were used to identify risk factors for ROP treatment. Results: Among 7295 eligible infants, 4701 (64.5%) survived to 32 weeks postmenstrual age and met ROP screening criteria. Of the 3756 infants who screened and with ROP data, 2320 (61.8%) developed ROP of any stage. The overall incidence of ROP treatment was 12.6%, decreasing from 45.5% at 23 weeks to 8.3% at 27 weeks. During the 10‐year period, the incidence of ROP treatment did not change, although the incidence of any ROP increased over time. Independent risk factors associated with ROP treatment included lower gestational age, small for gestational age, multiple birth, severe intraventricular haemorrhage, patent ductus arteriosus and supplemental oxygen duration. Conclusions: The incidence of EP infants receiving ROP treatment showed no change during this 10‐year period in China. Prevention of prematurity and foetal growth restriction, judicious use of oxygen and reducing comorbidities are promising factors that may reduce the incidence of ROP needing treatment in these high‐risk infants. Introduction: Physical activity is recommended for healthy pregnant women. Clinical practice guidelines vary with regard to initial time, duration, or type of physical activity that is recommended, which is confusing for health care professionals and pregnant women alike. This study aimed to appraise clinical guidelines relevant to physical activity for pregnant women and summarize consensus and discrepant recommendations. Methods: The websites of organizations that develop guidelines including those of obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, and medical sports associations were searched in addition to 9 literature databases for the period from January 2010 through November 2020. Guidelines were included if they were published in a journal or on a website in English or Chinese; were labeled as a recommendation guideline, position paper, practice parameter, or consensus statement; and addressed physical activity for pregnant women. Two authors independently extracted recommendations. Four reviewers independently assessed guideline quality using the AGREE II instrument. Results: Thirteen guidelines met the inclusion criteria. The guidelines developed by the World Health Organization and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence were deemed to have the highest methodological quality. The recommendations were consistent with regard to recommended exercise duration, frequency, intensity, and type of physical activity. The main discrepant recommendations included best tools for conducting pre‐exercise screening and assessing intensity of exertion. Guidelines also differ on optimal heart rate during exercise, when in pregnancy to initiate an exercise regimen, and duration or frequency of strengthening exercises. Discussion: Of the 13 guidelines, 2 were found to have good methodological quality. The recommendations that were consistent across the differing guidelines can support health care providers in counseling women about physical activity during pregnancy. The recommendations that are discrepant among these guidelines may contribute to confusion and a reluctance to recommend exercise during pregnancy. This study aimed to examine the multiple mediating roles of social support and self‐control in the relationship between harmonious personality and work–family conflict. A total of 143 Chinese adults (137 male, 95.8%; aged 30.25 ± 7.85 years) participated in this longitudinal study. Data were collected at three time points, at intervals of 1 month. Self‐report questionnaires measuring social demographics and harmonious personality (Time 1), self‐control and social support (Time 2), and work–family conflict (Time 3) were administered. Self‐control and work–family conflict were negatively correlated. The relationship between harmony and work–family conflict was mediated by self‐control and social support. Possible paths were self‐control and multiple mediation by social support and self‐control. Our results confirmed the multiple mediating roles of social support and self‐control in the relationship between harmonious personality and work–family conflict. To achieve a better work–family balance, it is important not only to establish a harmonious interpersonal perspective and to enhance the social support from employers, colleagues, and family but also to ensure adequate self‐control resources. Ovarian cancer, one of the malignant gynaecological tumours with the highest mortality rate among female reproductive system, is prone to metastasis, recurrence and chemotherapy resistance, causing a poor prognosis. Exosomes can regulate the epithelial‐mesenchymal plasticity of tumour cells, remodel surrounding tumour microenvironment, and affect tumour cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis. However, the function and mechanism of exosomes in the intraperitoneal implantation of ovarian cancer remain unclear. In this study, exosomal annexin A2 (ANXA2) derived from ovarian cancer cells was co‐cultured with human peritoneal mesothelial (HMrSV5) cells; functional experiments were conducted to explore the effects of exosomal ANXA2 on the biological behaviour of HMrSV5 and the related mechanisms. This study showed that ANXA2 in ovarian cancer cells can be transferred to HMrSV5 cells through exosomes, exosomal ANXA2 can not only promote the migration, invasion and apoptosis of HMrSV5 cells, but also regulates morphological changes and fibrosis of HMrSV5 cells. Furthermore, ANXA2 promotes the mesothelial‐mesenchymal transition (MMT) and degradation of the extracellular matrix of HMrSV5 cells through PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, finally affects pre‐metastasis microenvironment of ovarian cancer, which provides a new theoretical basis for the mechanism of intraperitoneal implantation and metastasis of ovarian cancer. Two nickel(II) coordination polymers, namely, {[Ni1/2(TPO)1/3(bib)1/2(H2O)]·H2O}n (1), and [Ni(HTPO)(bpy)(H2O)2]n (2), were assembled from tripodal ligand of tripodal tri(p-carboxyphenyl) phosphane oxide (H3TPO) and two N-donors [bib = 1,4-bis(imidazolyl)benzene, and bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine]. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and further characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Structural analysis reveals that complex 1 is an interestingly 3D (3,4)-connected {10³}2{106}3 net, whereas complex 2 is a 1D polymeric chain, which was further expanded into a 3D supramolecular structure through hydrogen bonds. Luminescent sensing measurements show two nickel CPs can selectively and sensitively detect for acetone from normal solvents (DMF, DMA, DMSO, MeOH, EtOH, CH3CN, H2O, and N-butanol). Two manganese(II) coordination polymers, namely, [Mn1.5(BCB)(bpy)1.5(H2O)]n (1), and [Mn(HBCB)(bibp)2(H2O)] (2), were assembled from the mixed ligands of the flexible tripodal ligand of 3,5-bis(2-carboxylphenoxy)benzoic acid (H3BCB) and two rigid N-donors [bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine, and bibp = 4,4'-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl]. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by elemental analyses (EA), IR spectra, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and thermogravimetric (TG) analyses. Structural analysis reveals that complex 1 is a 3D (3,4,6)-connected {5·6²}2{56·64·7·8²·9²}{64·8·9} net based on two kinds of inorganic nodes of dinuclear {Mn2(COO)2} SBUs and Mn(2) ions. Narrow-leafed lupin ( NLL; Lupinus angustifolius L.) is an important grain legume crop that is valuable for sustainable farming and is becoming recognized as a human health food. NLL breeding is directed at improving grain production, disease resistance, drought tolerance and health benefits. However, genetic and genomic studies have been hindered by a lack of extensive genomic resources for the species. Here, the generation, de novo assembly and annotation of transcriptome datasets derived from five different NLL tissue types of the reference accession cv. Tanjil are described. The Tanjil transcriptome was compared to transcriptomes of an early domesticated cv. Unicrop, a wild accession P27255, as well as accession 83A:476, together being the founding parents of two recombinant inbred line ( RIL) populations. In silico predictions for transcriptome-derived gene-based length and SNP polymorphic markers were conducted and corroborated using a survey assembly sequence for NLL cv. Tanjil. This yielded extensive indel and SNP polymorphic markers for the two RIL populations. A total of 335 transcriptome-derived markers and 66 BAC-end sequence-derived markers were evaluated, and 275 polymorphic markers were selected to genotype the reference NLL 83A:476 × P27255 RIL population. This study aimed to prepare sheep bone collagen–chitosan (BC‐CS) blend films and to characterize their film‐forming properties and structure. The blend films were prepared with different blend ratio of collagen and CS (BC:CS = 100:0, 60:40, 50:50, 40:60, and 0:100) with skin gelatin‐chitosan (SG‐CS) film used as a control. The results showed that the BC film became smoother, tougher, and more transparent when CS was added. The addition of CS significantly increased the tensile strength of the BC film. Elongation at break of the BC film decreased when the addition of CS was more than 50%. Compared with the BC film, the light barrier properties of the blended films increased in the ultraviolet region. The blend films exhibited increased thermal stability and decreased water solubility when compared with the BC film, but their permeability to water vapor increased undesirably. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy results confirmed the formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds between BC and CS in the blends. Conclusively, the film‐forming properties of BC‐CS blend films have the potential to be used for food packaging. Practical Applications: The sheep bone collagen–chitosan blend film was fairly transparent and possessed good mechanical properties, which might be suitable for food packaging. This study can provide some reference for future development of bone collagen films for industrial application and bring forth new ideas for the utilization of animal bone coproducts. After China's economy entered a “new normal,” their economic development model shifted from an energy‐intensive to an energy‐saving, given that China's electricity and heating industry accounts for about half of the country's energy consumption and carbon emissions. Based on the sample data from 2005 to 2020, this paper adopts the energy consumption method and the extended index decomposition model to explore carbon emissions of the electricity and heating industry in the early and late period of the economic new normal. The results show that: (1) carbon emissions from the electricity and heating industry showed a growing direction in the economic new normal period. However, compared with the early period of economic new normal, the increasing speed of carbon emissions from the electricity and heating industry slowed down significantly in the late period. This point also directly reflects that the extensive development mode of energy utilization has been alleviated after the electricity and heating industry entered the economic new normal. (2) Compared with the early period, the energy structure effect on the emission reduction was enhanced after entering the economic new normal. Meanwhile, the investment efficiency effect has changed from promoting to inhibiting. (3) Compared with the early period, the promotion impact of the investment scale effect on carbon emissions in the electricity and heating industry has no significant change after entering the economic new normal. Nevertheless, it is noteworthy that the emission reduction impact of the energy intensity effect is weak. This paper not only provides empirical evidence for evaluating the emission reduction effects of the Chinese electricity and heating industry before and after the economic new normal but also shares policy insights for precise emission reduction in the electricity and heating industry in the later stage of the economic new normal.
