A study published in the Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology & Venereology evaluated the efficacy of virtual reality (VR) in managing pain and anxiety during dermatological procedures. The study included 40 patients who underwent various procedures, such as wound care, botulinum toxin injections, and dynamic phototherapy. The results showed that the use of VR significantly reduced both pain and anxiety levels during these procedures. The study suggests that VR has the potential to complement traditional approaches to pain and anxiety management in dermatology, improving patients' experiences and potentially reducing the need for analgesics.
