As perceived career plateau is a prevalent but undesirable state which is harmful to employees and organizations, human resource management (HRM) research has devoted efforts to exploring ways of managing it. However, to date, research has largely been limited to variables that reduce perceived career plateau. There is a need to understand what factors increase these perceptions and how/when they do so, to advance theoretical and practical perspectives. This study contributes to the career plateau literature by investigating how and under what conditions work‐role overload can increase employees' perceived career plateau (hierarchical and job content plateaus). Based on a three‐wave survey of employees from the service sector of China, we found that work‐role overload interacted with employees' trait emotional stability and affected their work–life conflict, which had downstream implications on the two types of perceived career plateaus. Specifically, work‐role overload related positively to work–life conflict only when employees had a high (versus low) level of emotional stability. Also, work–life conflict mediated the effects of work‐role overload on perceived hierarchical and job content plateaus for employees with high, but not for those with low, emotional stability. These findings provide new insights into how, by taking into account stressful work contexts and individual differences, HRM professionals may intervene to prevent employees from perceiving career plateau. The microstructure and mechanical properties of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel are systematically investigated at tempering temperatures ranging from 630 to 670 °C. With increasing tempering temperature, several key parameters exhibit notable changes: the volume fraction of reversed austenite decreases from 17.36% to 13.39%. The equivalent grain size increases from 0.91 to 1.09 μm. The equivalent diameter of precipitates increases from 59 to 79 nm. The dislocation density decreases from 0.82 × 10−15 to 0.51 × 10−15 m−2. As the tempering temperature increases, the pinning effect of precipitates on dislocations and martensite laths decreases. This leads to reductions in both dislocation strengthening and precipitation strengthening mechanisms. Consequently, the yield strength of the specimen decreases from 876 to 683 MPa. The increase in the ductile‐brittle transition temperature of the specimens from −116 to −95 °C can be attributed to several factors. First, the increase in precipitate size reduces the critical nucleation stress of cleavage cracks and promotes the nucleation of such cracks. Additionally, the decrease in dislocation density mobility leads to a reduction in the dimple nucleation rate, thereby diminishing the role of dimples in hindering crack propagation. The effect of the pouring rate on the carbon macrosegregation in 30Cr15Mo1N ingots has been clarified by investigating changes in the content of carbon‐containing precipitated phases, cooling rate, secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) and the flow characteristics of molten steel. During the solidification process, the solute‐enriched liquid steel migrates toward the center of the ingot under the action of convection, resulting in an increasing segregation ratio from the edge to the center. However, the growth of equiaxed grains partially restricts the flow of solute‐enriched liquid steel, which leads to a maximum segregation ratio not at the center but at approximately a quarter radius from the center. Furthermore, due to the upward flow of molten steel in the center, positive segregation occurs at the top. An increment in the pouring rate reduces the SDAS by enhancing the cooling rate, and thus the permeability decreases. It aggravates the carbon macrosegregation horizontally. However, increasing the pouring rate decreases the carbon macrosegregation vertically. This is due to the more intense flow of molten steel and the larger liquid phase region at higher pouring rate, which reduces the solute enrichment degree and promotes compositional homogeneity above and below the ingot. Radiation proctopathy (RP) is a common complication of radiotherapy for pelvic malignancies with high incidence. RP accompanies by microbial dysbiosis. However, how the gut microbiota affects the disease remains unclear. Here, metabolomics reveals that the fecal and serous concentrations of microbiota‐derived 3‐hydroxybutyrate (3HB) are significantly reduced in RP mice and radiotherapeutic patients. Moreover, the concentration of 3HB is negatively associated with the expression of proinflammatory IL6 that is increased along with the severity of radiation damage. 3HB treatment significantly downregulates IL6 expression and alleviates IL6‐mediated radiation damage. Irradiated cell‐fecal microbiota co‐culture experiments and in vivo assays show that such a radioprotection of 3HB is mediated by GPR43. Microbiome analysis reveals that radiation leads to a distinct bacterial community compared to untreated controls, in which Akkermansia muciniphila is significantly reduced in RP mice and radiotherapeutic patients and is associated with lower 3HB concentration. Gavage of A. muciniphila significantly increases 3HB concentration, downregulates GPR43 and IL6 expression, and ameliorates radiation damage. Collectively, these results demonstrate that the gut microbiota, including A. muciniphila, induce higher concentrations of 3HB to block GPR43‐mediated IL6 signaling, thereby conferring radioprotection. To comprehensively comprehend variation of strip shape (strip feeding depth and maximum steel sheath cross‐sectional area) under different process parameters (strip feeding speed, strip oscillation frequency, strip amplitude, molten steel superheat, strip width, and strip thickness), a mathematical model of feeding strip process has been developed herein. Flow near steel strip is analyzed. Meanwhile, the qualitative relationship between strip shape and process parameters is derived based on energy conservation within the system of molten steel and steel strip. The results show that strip feeding depth is positively correlated with strip feeding speed, strip width, and strip thickness, while it's negatively correlated with strip oscillation frequency, strip amplitude, and molten steel superheat; maximum steel sheath cross‐sectional area is positively correlated with strip width and strip thickness, while it's negatively correlated with strip feeding speed, strip oscillation frequency, strip amplitude, and molten steel superheat. Based on the calculated results, the quantitative relationships are proposed to predict the strip feeding depth and maximum steel sheath cross‐sectional area with aforementioned process parameters, which are suitable for the situations that the strip tip is located between the outlet of submerged entry nozzle and the end of the liquid core. In aqueous aluminum‐ion batteries (AAIBs), the insertion/extraction chemistry of Al3+ often leads to poor kinetics, whereas the rapid diffusion kinetics of hydronium ions (H3O+) may offer the solution. However, the presence of considerable Al3+ in the electrolyte hinders the insertion reaction of H3O+. Herein, we report how oxygen‐deficient α‐MoO3 nanosheets unlock selective H3O+ insertion in a mild aluminum‐ion electrolyte. The abundant oxygen defects impede the insertion of Al3+ due to excessively strong adsorption, while allowing H3O+ to be inserted/diffused through the Grotthuss proton conduction mechanism. In this study, to clarify the evolution mechanism of dendrite structure and shrinkage porosity in 30Cr15Mo1N ingots under varying pouring rates, the changes in cooling rate, temperature gradient, secondary dendrite arm spacing (SDAS), columnar to equiaxed transition (CET), and area of shrinkage porosity with pouring rate are investigated. The cooling rate and temperature gradient calculated by using the ProCAST software increase with the pouring rate, leading to a great solidification rate. As a result, the SDAS decreases and the position of CET moves toward the center of 30Cr15Mo1N ingot. Additionally, the area proportion of shrinkage porosity increases with the increase in pouring rate. This phenomenon can be mainly due to the less overlap between columnar dendrite and higher permeability with the larger SDAS, which are conducive to the feeding of the molten steel. In addition, the delayed formation of semi‐solidified shell at the top of the ingot at low pouring rate minimizes the impact of solid contraction on the surface sink, which results in a flatter top surface of the ingot at low pouring rate. Background: Using soybean oil–based lipid emulsions (Intralipid), which contain higher amounts of ω‐6 fatty acids and phytosterols in parenteral nutrition, is a risk factor for cholestasis (parenteral nutrition–associated cholestasis [PNAC]). An alternative form of a mixed lipid emulsion (SMOFlipid) has been developed to reduce the risk of PNAC, but significant benefits over Intralipid in very low birth weight (VLBW) infants have yet to be demonstrated. The aim of this study was to compare the differences in PNAC incidence in VLBW infants receiving SMOFlipid vs Intralipid. Methods: The study was conducted in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital of the Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China, from January 2016 to March 2022. In total, 235 VLBW infants were administered SMOFlipid or Intralipid for ≥21 days and were included in the study. The primary outcome was the incidence of PNAC. Secondary outcomes included bronchopulmonary dysplasia, retinopathy of prematurity, necrotizing enterocolitis, late‐onset sepsis, length of stay, weight 28 days after birth, severity of PNAC, and the time to reversal of PNAC. Results: Forty‐four VLBW infants (35.5%) in the SMOFlipid group vs 41 (36.9%) in the Intralipid group achieved PNAC (P = 0.817). The subgroup analysis showed that the peak direct bilirubin level was lower (median [interquartile range] 55.6 [36.4] vs 118.4 [77.2] μmol/L; P < 0.001), and the time to reversal of PNAC was shorter (44 [49] vs 96 [61]; P < 0.001) in the SMOFlipid group than in the Intralipid group. Herein, the Ce‐containing inclusions in8Cr4Mo4V‐bearing steel are taken as the research objective to develop anumerical model of inclusions motions behavior. The model is validated bycomparing it with experimental data. During the vacuum arc remelting process, inclusions move along the molten pool's surface toward the edge under theaction of resultant force, and finally become trapped within the mushy zone. Notably, the majority of inclusions are concentrated near the ingot's edge, andtheir numbers decrease as the radial distance decreases. Furthermore, thenumber of Ce‐Mg‐O‐S inclusions exceeds that of Ce‐O‐S inclusions near the ingot's center. This discrepancy arises due to lower density of Ce‐Mg‐O‐Sinclusions, which exhibits a stronger tendency to migrate toward the moltenpool's center. Additionally, as the inclusion diameter increases, buoyancy forceacting on the inclusions increases, resulting in a higher number of inclusionsnear the ingot's center. When considering the effect of gas cooling, theinclusion distribution becomes more pronounced at the ingot's edge. This isattributed to the enhanced cooling capacity of the mold resulting in the decreasing of molten pool depth and consequently a stronger ability of themushy zone to trap inclusions. BACKGROUND: Wheat powdery mildew, caused by the biotrophic pathogen Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici (Bgt) is a serious fungal disease. Natural metabolites produced by microorganisms are beneficial biological control agents to inhibit Bgt. In the present study, we investigated the effects of Aspergillus chevalieri BYST01 on wheat powdery mildew. RESULTS: A strain isolated from the termite was identified as A. chevalieri BYST01 by morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis. The fermentation broth of BYST01 showed good biocontrol effect on the Bgt in vivo with the control efficiencies of 81.59% and 71.34% under the protective and therapeutic tests, respectively. Four known metabolites, including the main compound physcion (30 mg/L), were isolated from the fermentation broth of BYST01 extracted with ethyl acetate. Importantly, under a concentration of 0.1 mM, physcion repressed conidial germination of Bgt with an inhibition rate of 77.04% in vitro and showed important control efficiencies of 80.36% and 74.64% in vivo under the protective and therapeutic tests, respectively. Hence, the BYST01 showed important potential as a microbial cell factory for the high yield of the green natural fungicide physcion. Finally, the biosynthetic gene clusters responsible for physicon production in BYST01 was predicted by analyzing a chromosome‐scale genome obtained using a combination of Illumina, PacBio, and Hi‐C sequencing technologies. CONCLUSION: Aspergillus chevalieri BYST01 and its main metabolite physcion had a significant control effect on wheat powdery mildew. High‐nitrogen stainless bearing steel (HNSBS) is the most representative third‐generation aviation bearing steel, and the cleanliness and microstructure characteristics of bearing steel are crucial to its high performance and long service life. In this work, the effect of cerium addition on the cleanliness and microstructure characteristics of as‐cast HNSBS was systematically studied by combining microstructural characterization and thermodynamic analysis methods. The results show that with increasing Ce content, the cleanliness of steel first improved and then decreased, and Ce2O2S, Ce2O3 and CeN inclusions were generated successively. The Ce content should be controlled to ≈0.012 wt% to ensure that all Al2O3, MgO · Al2O3, and MnS inclusions were modified, and minimize the formation of large‐size Ce‐bearing inclusions. Furthermore, cerium addition refined the dendrite structure due to more nucleation sites for γ‐Fe and the enrichment of Ce in the liquid phase at solidifying front. The finer and more dispersed distribution in precipitates was ascribed to the reduction of growth space and Cr segregation, as well as the increase in effective nucleation sites. These results can offer theoretical guidance for inhibiting the formation of harmful inclusions in high‐nitrogen alloy systems and refining the microstructure of alloy systems containing M23(C, N)6 and M2(C, N) precipitates. The removal mechanism of vanadium addition on nitrogen pores in 30Cr15Mo1N ingot is systematically investigated through statistical analysis and theoretical calculation. The nitrogen solubility is obtained by the thermodynamic model, and the nitrogen content is obtained by combining the ProCAST software and the C–K model. Then, according to the formula of critical nucleation radius and growth rate of nitrogen bubbles, the variation of critical nucleation radius and growth rate of nitrogen bubbles with different vanadium contents is calculated. As the vanadium content increases, the number and mean area of nitrogen pores decrease. In comparison to the 0 V ingot, the number of nitrogen pores decreases in the 0.2 V ingot, but there is an increase in the number of large‐sized nitrogen pores (>3000 μm in diameter). When the vanadium content increases to 0.4, the nitrogen pores are completely removed. The results demonstrate that increasing vanadium content can remove nitrogen pores. Since the solidification mode remains unchanged with increasing vanadium content, increasing the vanadium content cannot remove nitrogen pores by changing the solidification mode of the 30Cr15Mo1N ingots. Therefore, increasing the vanadium content removes the nitrogen pores mainly by inhibiting the nucleation of nitrogen bubbles and promoting nitrogen bubble overflow in 30Cr15Mo1N ingots. This research advances the workplace thriving literature by offering a multilevel view regarding the impact of positive affective resources on employee and team thriving. We conducted our study with 285 employees from 62 teams to examine a multilevel model involving the relationship between high‐activated positive affect (HAPA) and thriving at individual and team levels. Results demonstrated that team HAPA triggered team cohesion, which in turn enhanced team thriving, and that individual HAPA promoted individual thriving. While task interdependence did not moderate the effects of team HAPA on team cohesion or, in turn, on team thriving, cross‐level moderation showed that task interdependence strengthened the relationship between individual HAPA and individual thriving. These findings extend the knowledge regarding the relationship between positive affect and thriving by confirming the role of affect activation, identifying a team‐level mechanism, and clarifying a boundary condition. To comprehensively understand the effect of oscillation on cooling capacity of steel strip, a mathematical model is proposed to investigate the distribution of temperature fields in continuous cast slabs, taking into account the oscillatory feeding process. Strip oscillation results in a periodic variation of nearby molten steel flow. It intensifies the turbulence of surrounding molten steel and enhances the interfacial heat transfer. During the feeding process, the morphology of strip undergoes three stages: upheaval, fluctuation, and disappearance. As the strip oscillation frequency increases, the maximum cross‐sectional area of the strip gradually decreases during the upheaval stage, the fluctuation stage gradually disappears, and the strip disappearance speed gradually increases during the disappearance stage. These observations suggest that an increase in the oscillation frequency accelerates the melting of the strip, which is caused by the enhanced heat transfer between the strip and molten steel. This results in a gradual growth of strip's cooling capacity and a decrement in the liquid fraction of molten steel surrounding the strip. In addition, feeding strip is advantageous in preventing the jet from impinging onto narrow surfaces of slab. In this study, the microstructural evolution of H13 hot‐work die steel during isothermal tempering at 500 ≈ 650 °C is evaluated, and kinetic equations and a neural network are constructed to describe the softening behavior. The results show that the softening behavior appears as a loss of hardness with increasing isothermal tempering temperature and time. The softening mechanism is ascribed to the decomposition of martensitic laths, annihilation and rearrangement of dislocations, formation of sub‐grains, and precipitation and coarsening of secondary carbides. The evolution of secondary carbides includes the coarsening of V‐rich MC nanoprecipitates, and the precipitation and coarsening of secondary phases (Cr‐rich M23C6 and Mo‐rich M6C carbides) during long‐term isothermal tempering. Regarding the applicability of the model in precipitation evolution and hardness prediction, the Johnson–Mehl–Avrami model is considered to be more suitable than the Hollomon–Jaffe, Lifshitz–Slyozov–Wagner, and back‐propagation neural network models. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the existing single‐step pressurized metallurgical manufacturing technologies of high nitrogen stainless steel (HNS), a promising pressurized duplex manufacturing route, i.e., pressurized induction melting (PIM) and pressurized electroslag remelting (PESR), is proposed. The PIM stage mainly carries on the nitrogen alloying, deoxidation and desulfurization, and the PESR process mainly takes responsibility for further desulfurization, removal of large‐size inclusion, and elevating solidification quality. During PIM, the deoxidation is achieved by vacuum carbon deoxidation combined with magnesium and rare‐earth compound treatment. Subsequently, the PESR is conducted under high nitrogen pressure without adding nitrided ferroalloys. To precisely control the nitrogen content and avoid segregation and escape of nitrogen, the three‐stage nitrogen pressure collocation is developed. The high nitrogen stainless bearing steel 30Cr15Mo1N (DIN 1.4108) is manufactured as an example by the duplex route, and a PIM–PESR ingot with high nitrogen content, high cleanliness, fine and dispersive inclusions, and compact solidification structure is obtained. Moreover, the steel possesses a homogeneous microstructure, slightly better mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance compared with that manufactured by the single‐step PESR process. Consumption inequality may impede economic development and hinder the achievement of common prosperity. Using three waves of the China Family Panel Studies from 2014 to 2018, this paper investigated the impact of e‐commerce on consumption inequality, as measured by the Kakwani index. The results indicate that e‐commerce can reduce household consumption inequality. A mechanism analysis shows that e‐commerce can narrow household income inequality, increase the purchasing power of low‐income households, and promote the consumption of households with limited access to offline markets, thereby reducing the consumption gap. A heterogeneity analysis suggests that the positive role of e‐commerce in reducing consumption inequality can be more significant among vulnerable households, such as households with elderly members and less‐educated households. E‐commerce can have varying impacts on consumption inequality across different subcategories of household expenditure, with the greatest impact seen in entertainment and education expenditure. These findings provide new evidence for the role of e‐commerce in reducing consumption inequality in the digital economy, and the implications of this are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Herein, a novel high‐nitrogen (0.18 wt%) M42 high‐speed steel is fabricated by pressurized metallurgy. The high‐temperature softening resistance of N‐free and 0.18N steels is evaluated by hardness measurement at room temperature after additional heating at 600 °C for various times, and the high‐temperature wear resistance is evaluated by ball‐on‐disk dry sliding wear test at 600 °C. The microstructure is characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and high‐resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM). The results indicate that the hardness of 0.18N steel is 2–3 HRC higher than that of N‐free steel after additional heating at 600 °C for 4–120 h. The superior high‐temperature softening resistance of 0.18N steel is primarily ascribed to the smaller coarsening rate of M2C secondary carbides. Under the dry sliding condition at 600 °C, the wear rate of N‐free steel is approximately 1.5 times higher than that of 0.18N steel. The better high‐temperature wear resistance of 0.18N steel is primarily because the superior softening resistance makes it maintain higher hardness during the wear process to provide stronger support for the oxide layer and increase the protective ability of oxide layer to steel. The implementation of a feeding strip is a widely recognized and effective technique to improve the quality of continuous cast slabs. To comprehensively understand the effect of feeding strip on the temperature field of slabs during continuous casting, a mathematical model is developed that considers the breaking and shedding of strip, and, the accuracy of the developed model is verified by the macroscopic structural observations of S32654 steel ingot. During the feeding strip process, changes in the morphology of strip undergo four stages: frozen‐sheath formation, rapid melting, alternation of melting and solidification, and disappearance. Its corresponding cross‐sectional area rapidly increases to a maximum, sharply decreases, oscillates, and eventually reaches zero. The feeding strip effectively mitigates the impingement of jet onto the narrow surfaces of the slab by compressing "lower recirculation" and dividing "upper recirculation" of molten steel near submerged entry nozzle, especially at higher feeding strip velocities. Furthermore, there exists the additional cooling effect region of strip feeding in the temperature field of slab, which is caused by the melting of strip and molten/shedded‐strip flow. As feeding strip velocity increases, the cooling effect region moves correspondingly from the vicinity of the narrow surfaces of the slab to the center of slab. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article introduces the research community to the power of machine learning over traditional approaches when analyzing longitudinal data. Although traditional approaches work well with small to medium datasets, machine learning models are more appropriate as the available data becomes larger and more complex. Additionally, machine learning methods are ideal for analyzing longitudinal data because they do not make any assumptions about the distribution of the dependent and independent variables or the homogeneity of the underlying population. They can also analyze cases with partial information. In this article, we use the Household, Income, and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey to illustrate the benefits of machine learning. Using a machine learning algorithm, we analyze the relationship between job‐related variables and neuroticism across 13 years of the HILDA survey. We suggest that the results produced by machine learning can be used to generate generalizable rules from the data to augment our theoretical understanding of the domain. With a technical guide, this article offers critical information and best‐practice recommendations that can assist social science researchers in conducting machine learning analysis with longitudinal data. The variations in microstructure and mechanical properties of N‐free and high‐nitrogen (0.18 wt%) M42 HSS with tempering temperatures are investigated. The microstructure of steels after austenitizing primarily consists of martensite, retained austenite (RA), undissolved M2C, and M6C carbides. With increasing tempering temperature (450–600 °C), the RA content and martensite lattice strain of steels gradually decrease. At 540 and 600 °C, RA is almost or fully transformed into martensite, and massive nanosized M2C secondary carbides are precipitated. The M2C secondary carbides at 600 °C obviously coarse compared to those at 540 °C. Further, the addition of N increases RA content and martensite lattice strain. With increasing tempering temperature, the bulk hardness and compressive strength of steels first increase and then decrease, whereas their impact toughness shows an opposite trend. This is ascribed to the combined effect of RA decomposition, precipitation and coarsening of secondary precipitates, and decrease in dislocation density and martensite lattice strain. Compared to N‐free steel, 0.18N steel tempered at peak‐hardening temperature (540 °C) and above has higher bulk hardness and compressive strength because of the increased solid solution, dislocation, and precipitation strengthening, but lower impact toughness owing to higher matrix hardness and martensite lattice strain. This study offers a new perspective on how organisational factors influence migrant workers' cultural intelligence (CQ) by examining a moderated mediation model of the mechanism underlying the relationship between perceived supervisor support and CQ. We tested our model using a survey on a sample of 462 migrants. We found that employees' social exchange and subjective career success mediated the relationship between their perceptions of supervisor support and CQ. Furthermore, perceived organisational support moderated the social exchange–CQ relationship, and this relationship was stronger among workers with perceived high organisational support than for those with perceptions of low support. We also found that the indirect effect of employees' perceived supervisor support on CQ via social exchange was stronger for those with perceived high organisational support than for those with perceptions of low support. Precisely introducing two similar functional groups into bulk chemical alkenes represents a formidable route to complex molecules. Especially, the selective activation of two electrophiles is in crucial demand, yet challenging for cross‐electrophile‐coupling. Herein, we demonstrate a redox‐mediated electrolysis, in which aryl nitriles are both aryl radical precursors and redox‐mediators, enables an intermolecular alkene 1,2‐diarylation with a remarkable regioselectivity, thereby avoiding the involvement of transition‐metal catalysts. This transformation utilizes cyanoarene radical anions for activating various aryl halides (including iodides, bromides, and even chlorides) and affords 1,2‐diarylation adducts in up to 83 % yield and >20 : 1 regioselectivity with more than 80 examples, providing a feasible approach to complex bibenzyl derivatives. Individuals often need to be proactive in order to successfully navigate their career development journeys. To what extent one is vocationally proactive has critical implications for his or her attitudes, behaviors, and other outcomes in career and work‐related settings. However, research in career proactivity has been accumulating from divergent perspectives, resulting in a substantially fragmented literature that has not been comprehensively, objectively synthesized to guide the field to move forward. To advance the domain of career proactivity, this paper synthesizes theoretical and empirical literatures using two major bibliometric analyses. We first analyze the intellectual basis of the career proactivity literature by performing document citation analysis. We then review the developmental trends of main conceptual themes in career proactivity literature using a temporal co‐word analysis. Informed by these bibliometric findings, we propose a roadmap for future research highlighting the need to clear up concepts, account for context, develop new meso‐level theories, and bridge the domains of organizational behavior and vocational development. Drawing on the socially embedded model of thriving and conservation of resources theory, we explore the negative effect of workplace ostracism on employee thriving. We model organization‐based self‐esteem (OBSE) as a moderator and extend our examination to the downstream implications of thriving for employee creativity. Using a scenario‐based experiment (Study 1) with 387 working adults, we find that workplace ostracism is more likely to prevent workers with higher levels of OBSE from thriving at work. This finding is verified in Study 2, in which we use multiwave, multisource data collected from 207 employees and their supervisors to test the proposed model. The results further show that for employees with higher levels of OBSE, thriving at work is more likely to mediate the relationship between workplace ostracism and employee creativity. To investigate their roles in extracellular reduction of iodate (IO3−) with lactate as an electron donor, the gene clusters of dmsEFAB, mtrCAB, mtrDEF and so4360‐4357 in Shewanella oneidensis MR‐1 were systematically deleted. Deletions of dmsEFAB and/or mtrCAB gene clusters diminished the bacterial ability to reduce IO3−. Furthermore, DmsEFAB and MtrCAB worked collaboratively to reduce IO3− of which DmsEFAB played a more dominant role than MtrCAB. MtrCAB was involved in detoxifying the reaction intermediate hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The reaction intermediate hypoiodous acid (HIO) was also found to inhibit microbial IO3− reduction. SO4360‐4357 and MtrDEF, however, were not involved in IO3− reduction. Collectively, these results suggest a novel mechanism of extracellular reduction of IO3− at molecular level, in which DmsEFAB reduces IO3− to HIO and H2O2. The latter is further reduced to H2O by MtrCAB to facilitate the DmsEFAB‐mediated IO3− reduction. The extracellular electron transfer pathway of S. oneidensis MR‐1 is believed to mediate electron transfer from bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, across the cell envelope to the DmsEFAB and MtrCAB on the bacterial outer membrane. Hypoxia‐inducible factors (hifs) are involved in infectious diseases inflammatory reactions, and immune regulation. Common carp, a representative allotetraploid species that has undergone genome‐wide replication events, has important research value. In this study, common carp were infected twice with Aeromonas hydrophila. Liver tissues of common carp were collected at 4 h, 12 h, 24 h, 48 h, 3 days, 7 days post‐first infection and 4 h, 12 h, 24 h post‐second infection. The mRNA levels of hif genes were determined at different time points. The hif2a‐2, hif3a‐2, hif3b‐1 and hif3b‐2 expression levels in the infected group were upregulated when compared with those in the control group, whereas the expression levels of other genes were downregulated after the second infection. This indicates that the effect of A. hydrophila infection on gene expression pattern is dependent on the host, pathogen, infected tissue and gene. Pressure analysis of the hif gene family revealed that the non‐synonymous substitution to synonymous substitution ratio of 12 hif genes was <1, which indicated that they were in a state of purification and selection. Combined with the differences between copy genes, the polyclonal antibodies against Hif1b‐1 and Hif1b‐2 were successfully prepared in this study. Western blot analysis showed that the protein expression of Hif1b‐1 and Hif1b‐2 reached to the highest level 48 h after the first infection. After the second A. hydrophila infection, the protein expression levels of Hif1b‐1 and Hif1b‐2 reached the highest levels at 4 and 48 h, respectively. This may indicate that the Hif1b‐1 and Hif1b‐2 genes in common carp play an important role in the immune mechanism at the protein level. The findings of this study will lay the foundation for future studies on the immune regulatory function of common carp hif genes, which may aid in devising novel therapeutic strategies for common carp diseases, such as A. hydrophila infection. The valance of Mo is critical for FeMo cofactor in ambient ammonia synthesis. However, the valence effect of Mo has not been well studied in heterogeneous nanoparticle catalysts for electrochemical nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR) due to the dissolution of Mo as MoO42− in alkaline electrolytes. Here, a MoO2+x catalyst enriched with surface Mo6+ is reported. The Mo6+ is stabilized by a native oxide layer to prevent corrosion and its speciation is identified as (MoO3)n clusters. This native layer with Mo6+ suppresses the hydrogen evolution significantly and promotes the activation of nitrogen as supported by both experimental characterization and theoretical calculation. The as‐prepared MoO2+x catalyst shows a high ammonia yield of 3.95 µg mgcat−1h−1 with a high Faradaic efficiency of 22.1% at −0.2 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, which is much better than the MoO2 catalyst with Mo6+ etched away. In order to clarify the effects of pressure on the second dendrite arm spacing (SDAS) and columnar to equiaxed transition (CET) of 30Cr15Mo1N ingot, changes in solidification parameters, cooling rate and columnar dendrite tip growth rate with pressure have been investigated. A formula is proposed to obtain the quantitative correlation between pressure (≤ 2 MPa) and interfacial heat transfer coefficient: hi=(28.01P2+299.28P+1129.10)t−0.24. And then, A formula is proposed to calculate SDAS with cooling rate: λ2=21.48×R−0.77, which is applicable for low pressure (≤2 MPa) and low cooling rate (0.4–1.4 K · s−1). There are tiny changes in solidification mode and equilibrium partition coefficient with increasing pressure from 0.5 to 2 MPa. Therefore, increasing pressure refines SDAS mainly by enlarging cooling rate. Pressurization can increase columnar dendrite tip growth rate by enhancing undercooling, and inhibit nucleation and growth of equiaxed dendrite by decreasing constitutional undercooling. It results that the distance between the center of ingot and CET position decreased with increasing pressure from 0.5 to 2 MPa. And a formula is proposed to calculate columnar dendrite tip growth rate with undercooling: V=1.33×10‐5ΔT2+2.71×10‐7ΔT3, which is suitable for low pressure (≤2 MPa). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Nowadays, under the context of severe resource shortage, it is urgent to develop non‐quenched and tempered steel. Herein, a new method of combining rare‐earth cerium (Ce) and magnesium (Mg) to treat the 49MnVS3 steel with low oxygen and rather high sulfur is proposed. The inclusions modification, microstructure evolution, and mechanical properties change of 49MnVS3 steel with different Ce and Mg content composite treatment are investigated by optical microscope (OM), scanning electron microscope (SEM)–energy‐dispersive spectrometer (EDS), electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA), and tensile and impact tests. The results indicate that the small spherical Ce–Mn–Mg–O–S composite inclusions replace the Al2O3 wrapped MnS composite inclusions and elongated MnS inclusions after Ce and Mg joint treatment. After Ce and Mg composite treatment, the proportion of ferrite is significantly improved. Meanwhile, the interlamellar spacing of pearlite is refined. Attributed to modified inclusions and optimized microstructure, the strength and impact toughness are gradually enhanced. In contrast to Ce–Mg free steel, the impact energy of 4# steel with 0.0122 wt% Ce and 0.0012 wt% Mg addition is increased by 33%. Feeding strip into continuous casting mold is a technique that can reduce the central segregation and increase the equiaxed zone ratio of continuous casting slab. Over the past decades, some steel mills have gradually applied this technique, but it still lacks a comprehensive understanding of the control theory of process parameters. Many parameters joint the influence of the steel strip melting process and strip feeding ratio, deciding the inner quality of the slab eventually. Herein, the mechanism and heat transfer of feeding strip technology are analyzed. Parameter sensitivity studies and feeding strip experiments are summarized and some new conclusions are proposed. Herein, a unified 2D axially symmetric model coupling the plasma arc and molten bath in a direct current electric arc furnace is established, with the physical phenomena at the plasma arc/molten bath interface to be confronted by the "local thermodynamic equilibrium diffusion approximation" method. After ensuring model validation and grid independence test, the fluid flow and heat transfer processes are analyzed. The numerical investigation reveals that in terms of the relative importance of driving forces in the molten bath, an anticlockwise eddy is formed at the molten bath center driven by electromagnetic force, whereas a clockwise eddy is formed near the lateral part of the molten bath driven by buoyancy force. Regarding the distribution of heat flux, the convection–conduction and radiation heat govern the rate of heat transfer from the plasma arc to the molten bath. In addition, for larger arc current, higher arc power in the plasma arc region and higher heating rates in the molten bath are obtained when the arc length is held constant; for shorter arc length, lower arc power in the plasma arc region but higher heat transfer efficiency in the molten bath is attained when the arc current is held constant. The tempering process is applied in marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel to study microstructure, and mechanical properties by multi‐scale characterizations, strain hardening behavior, and cryogenic toughening mechanism are further investigated. As the tempering temperature increases from 590 to 630 °C, the dislocation density decreases by up to 25% and the austenite volume fraction decreases by up to 35%. Additionally, the morphology of austenite changes from strip to bulk, which weakened the pinning effect on the laths, leading to a coarsened martensite and an increase in the equivalent grain size. Based on the modified Crussard–Jaoul analysis, the specimens at different tempering temperatures exhibit a single‐stage strain hardening behavior during plastic deformation. The increase in strength is attributed to the continuous transformation‐induced plasticity effect and the increasing dislocation density. Furthermore, high austenite volume fraction and the proportion of grain boundary misorientation above 45° promote the release of stress concentration and hinder the propagation of cracks. This results in an increase in the ductile–brittle transition temperature (DBTT) of the specimens from −105 to −135 °C. At a tempering temperature of 610 °C, the specimen demonstrates an outstanding balance between yield strength (868 MPa) and cryogenic toughness (DBTT of −135 °C). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

BACKGROUND RESULTS CONCLUSION Sanqi, the root of Panax notoginseng, has long been recognized for its therapeutic effects on cardiovascular diseases. Saponins, including ginsenosides and notoginsenosides, are the main bioactive components of P. notoginseng. The biosynthesis of saponins is closely related to the defense responses orchestrated by endogenous hormones.To provide new insights into the underlying role of phytohormone jasmonic acid (JA) in the synthesis and regulation of saponins, we performed an ultra‐performance liquid chromatography analysis of different tissues of P. notoginseng aged 2–4 years. Moreover, by combined evaluation of saponin content and transcriptome profiling of each tissue, the spatial and temporal distribution of saponins was analyzed. N notoginsenoside R1, ginsenoside Rb1 and ginsenoside Rd accumulated in the underground tissues, including the root, tuqi, fibril and rhizome. In agreement with this data, the corresponding genes of the endogenous hormone JAs, especially coronatine insensitive 1 (COI1) and myelocytomatosis proteins 2 (MYC2), were predominantly expressed in the underground tissues. The tissue‐ and age‐specific distribution of saponins was consistent with the expression of genes involved in JA biosynthetic, metabolic and signaling pathways.The present study has revealed the temporal and spatial effects of endogenous phtohormones in the synthesis and regulation of notoginsenosides, which will provide a significant impact on improving the ecological planting technology, cultivating new high‐quality varieties and protecting the rare resources of medicinal P. notoginseng. © 2024 Society of Chemical Industry. Aims: The aim of the study was to evaluate the suitability of the current caffeine dosing regimen for the Chinese population using modelling and simulation approach. Methods: Pharmacokinetic samples were collected from 99 Chinese newborns with premature apnoea. The median (range) of gestational age and postmenstrual age were 28.3 (25.0–33.4) weeks and 31.1 (26.4–38.0) weeks, respectively. Newborns were receiving caffeine citrate at a loading dose of 20 mg/kg/d and a maintenance dose of 5–10 mg/kg/d. Caffeine concentrations and CYP1A2 polymorphisms were investigated. Population pharmacokinetic modelling of caffeine in Chinese preterm newborn on a population‐wide scale was conducted using NONMEM. Results: A 1‐compartment model with first‐order elimination was used to describe population pharmacokinetic. With current weight implemented using 0.75 allometric scaling, clearance (CL) was positively related to current weight and postmenstrual age, but a negative relationship was observed with serum creatinine concentration. Eight genotypes of CYP1A2 were tested and none of them had a significant impact on caffeine pharmacokinetic parameters. Interindividual variability of CL and volume of distribution was 7.70 and 65.9%. The median (range) of 95% confidence intervals of CL were 0.0128 (0.0128–0.0131) L/h/kg. Monte Carlo simulation demonstrated that 80% (loading dose) and 98% (maintenance dose) of premature infants treated with a labelled dosing regimen attained the concentration target range of 5–20 mg/L. Conclusion: A population PK model of caffeine was developed in Chinese newborns. Body weight‐implemented allometric scaling, postmenstrual age and serum creatinine concentration markedly affected caffeine clearance. This research investigated how and under what conditions thriving at work affects career attitudes and behaviors. Using an experimental design (n = 174), Study 1 found that the effects of thriving on career satisfaction, career commitment, and career engagement were mediated by career resilience. The positive effect of thriving on career resilience and the resilience‐mediated effects of thriving on career satisfaction, commitment, and engagement were stronger when achievement orientation was higher. Study 2 verified these findings with a survey of another sample of 296 employees. These studies offer important insights for human resource managers and career consultants or practitioners regarding what may enhance employees' career outcomes. The hot deformation behavior of P550 steels containing different nitrogen contents (0.63 and 0.86 wt% N) is investigated by isothermal compression tests at 900–1200 °C and 0.05–5 s−1. Electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) is performed to reveal the effects of nitrogen content, deformation temperature, and strain rate on dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior of P550 steels. The results indicate that high nitrogen significantly increases the flow stress and apparent activation energy of P550 steels; it also favors the nucleation of DRX by refining the initial grain size. As the deformation temperature is raised, both the fraction and average misorientation angle of DRX grains increase; however, these values first decrease and then increase with increasing the strain rate. The microstructural changes demonstrate that discontinuous DRX (DDRX) plays a dominant role in the nucleation of DRX for the studied steels, whereas continuous DRX (CDRX) is only a coordinated one. The electroslag remelting hollow ingot process is a new technology, which is considered a promising method to manufacture the superior hollow ingot. Herein, a coupling multiphysical fields mathematical model is developed to investigate the magneto‐hydrodynamic two‐phase flow and heat transfer phenomena. A laboratory scale experiment is conducted to validate the model. The results indicate that the molten slag flows around the electrodes at the edge of slag bath. Under the electrode tip, the flow of molten slag is dominated by the dropping of metal droplets, with a maximum velocity of 0.12 m−1 s−1. The temperature is not uniform in the circumference direction due to the nonuniform arrangement of the electrodes. The behavior of metal droplets is similar to that in a traditional electroslag remelting process, with a final velocity of 0.44 m−1 s−1 and a final temperature of 1858 K. In addition, the heat flow at the ingot/external mold interface is 3–5 times larger than that at the ingot/inner mold interface. The heat flow at the slag/metal pool interface takes 42.6% of total power input, and the heat of metal droplets takes 28.6% of that, both of which are the main heat resources for metal pool. This study explores how an environmental factor (i.e., a perceived open climate) shapes lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) employees' job satisfaction and job anxiety through the mediating role of self‐concealment. It also investigates the moderating role of self‐acceptance. Results from 315 LGB employees supported the conclusion that a perceived open climate for minority sexuality increased job satisfaction and decreased job anxiety. The open climate–job anxiety relationship was mediated by self‐concealment, and both stages of this mediation process were moderated by self‐acceptance. In the present work, needle-shaped cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were prepared from commercial microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through esterification and ultrasound treatment. The prepared CNCs were characterised by using Fourier transform infrared, degree of substitution (DS), dynamic light scattering, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. The results revealed that the ultrasound disintegration of MCC was significantly improved after the esterification with maleic anhydride and the ultrasound treatment did not affect DS of the CNCs. With increasing power of the ultrasound treatment, smaller CNCs with narrower size distribution could be obtained. Average diameter and length of the CNCs could reach ~14 and ~180 nm, respectively. Furthermore, the crystal structure of cellulose was not changed during the esterification and ultrasound treatment and crystallinity of the CNCs increased comparing with MCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study tested the relationships of individualism, power distance, and mastery orientation to 2 employee attitudes (organizational trust and organizational commitment) that are associated with employees’ psychological benefits within the organization. Results from university employees (N = 706) showed that individualism negatively, whereas mastery positively, related to trust and commitment. Power distance positively related to trust only. The moderating role of mastery was also identified. These findings can help employment or organizational counselors to appreciate value‐related factors that facilitate employees in psychologically integrating into the organization and to explore new ways for employers to foster employees’ positive attitudes. The influence of solidification pressure on the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of 19Cr14Mn4Mo0.9N high nitrogen steel is clarified by Thermo‐Calc/DICTRA software, including phase diagram, solidification mode, liquidus/solidus temperature, nitrogen solubility, partition coefficient, diffusion coefficient, driving force for nucleation, and diffusion coefficient. On this basis, the effect of pressure on critical nucleation radius and nucleation rate is also revealed. In the calculated vertical sections of 19Cr14Mn4Mo‐xN alloy phase diagram, δ single‐phase region decreases, both γ single‐phase region and three‐phase region L + δ + γ increase with increasing pressure. Additionally, the reaction mode of solidification transition gradually turns from peritectic to eutectic reaction, and the solidification mode changes from FA to A mode. Increasing the partial pressure of nitrogen can suppress the formation of ferrite trap and increase nitrogen solubility. Meanwhile, the partition coefficients of C, N, Cr, and Si increase, that of Mn and Mo decreases, resulting in decrease of C, N, and Cr microsegregation and improvement of Si, Mn, and Mo microsegregation. Pressurization has a small impact on diffusion coefficients, but it obviously promote the driving force for produced phase (δ and γ) nucleation, this lead to the decrease of critical nucleation radius, improvement of nucleation rate, and grain refinement of 19Cr14Mn4Mo0.9N high nitrogen steel. Hot deformation behavior of high nitrogen martensitic stainless steel 30Cr15Mo1N is investigated by isothermal compression tests at the temperature range of 900-1250 °C and the strain rate range of 0.01-10 s−1. The results indicate that the activation energy of this alloy (503.5 kJ mol−1) is higher than that of conventional martensitic stainless steels. The developed Arrhenius-type constitutive equation considering strain compensation can predict flow stress of 30Cr15Mo1N with good consistency. The critical conditions for initiation of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) are determined based on the strain hardening rate versus flow stress curves. The DRX is inhibited and grain size decrease with increasing strain rate from 0.01 to 1 s−1. However, the fraction of DRX increased and grain size coarsened when strain rate is further increased to 10 s−1. Cr-rich M23C6 and M2N precipitated at grain boundaries at lower temperatures, which can effectively pin grain boundaries and, thereby retard or even inhibit the process of DRX. In addition, dislocations tangled and piled up around precipitates, thereby hindering dislocation movement. In this work, a novel helical tube reactor (HTR) was constructed, including a pre-mixer for adjusting the premixing behavior of reactants and a helical tube as a further mixing unit. The pre-mixer was modified to optimize the premixing behavior by using two methods, named as tangential-feeding and insertion of a helical baffle. The premixing behaviors were investigated via computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. Simulation results indicated that both methods can change the fluid flow, enhance the turbulence kinetic energy, and improve the premixing performance in the pre-mixers. Based on the results of CFD simulation, it could be predicted that the micromixing efficiency of the HTR can be regulated by these methods accordingly. Then the predicated results were confirmed experimentally by a parallel competing reaction. When excited at 435 nm, tetra-sulfonate zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPcS4) emitted dual fluorescence at 495 and 702 nm. The abnormal fluorescence at 495 nm was experimentally studied and analyzed in detail for the first time. The abnormal fluorescence at 495 nm was deduced to originate from triplet-triplet (T-T) energy transfer of excited phthalocyanine (3*ZnPcS4). Furthermore, graphene quantum dots (GQDs) enhanced the 495 nm fluorescence quantum yield ( Q) of ZnPcS4. The fluorescence properties of ZnPcS4-GQDs conjugate were retained in a cellular environment. Based on the fluorescence of ZnPcS4-GQDs conjugate, we designed and prepared an Apt29/thrombin/Apt15 sandwich thrombin sensor with high specificity and affinity.
