The production of Li2CO3/C through CO2 reduction reaction in nonaqueous systems is a complex four‐electron, multi‐step process, and the short existence time of intermediate monomers is not conducive to observation, which causes great difficulties in clarifying and regulating the CO2 reduction path. Herein, ferrocene (Fc) as a functional additive into the electrolyte can stabilize the discharge intermediates and favor the occurrence of the two‐electron reaction path during CO2RR, which leads to more stable operation of the Li‐CO2 battery; with the assistance of Fc, the CO2 reduction pathway in Li‐CO2 battery is also clarified. Theoretical calculation analysis combined with experimental characterization observation confirms that Fc can shorten the CO2 reduction distance through interaction with CO2 and affecting the solvent environment around Li+, stabilize intermediate products to clarify the discharge path. The existence time of intermediates and discharge depth of the battery are key factors affecting the CO2 reduction pathway. The Li2C2O4 formed by CO2 reduction through the 2‐electron pathway is more favorable for the reversible operation of the Li‐CO2 battery than Li2CO3/C through the 4‐electron pathway. This work provides inspiration for clarifying the reaction mechanism and regulating the CO2 reduction pathway to improve the electrochemical performance of Li‐CO2 battery in the future. Deuteration has emerged as a significant method for investigating kinetic isotope effects in chemical reactions. In recent years, research on deuteration has revealed that this reaction often alters the pharmacokinetic or toxicological properties of drug molecules, thereby enhancing their therapeutic effect. Therefore, deuteration is considered as a potential avenue for drug research direction. Since the approval of the first deuterated drug, "deutetrabenazine," by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2017, deuteration has been applied in the development of a variety of novel drugs. Research on deuteration technology has matured with the publication of numerous deuteration strategies. This article reviews recently reported strategies for late‐stage selective deuteration, discusses the challenges associated with current deuteration strategies, and presents future prospects for the synthesis of deuterated drugs. The FeMo cofactor (FeMoco) of the Mo‐dependent nitrogenase was identified as a Mo−Fe−S cluster incorporating a 2p atom in the core. The edge‐bridged double‐cubane (EBDC, [M2Fe6(μ3‐S)6(μ4‐S)2]z (M=Mo/V; z denotes charge)) clusters were demonstrated to undergo rearrangement reactions to generate the apex‐fused double‐cubane clusters ([M2Fe6(μ2‐S)2(μ3‐S)6(μ6‐S)]z) as mimics of the PN‐clusters. The introduction of 2p atoms into the core of EBDC clusters will furnish the possibility of mimicking the FeMoco structure through rearrangement. In this work, an EBDC Mo−Fe−S cluster with core nitrides, namely [(Tp*)2Mo2Fe6(μ4‐N)2S6Cl4]2− (Tp*=tris(3,5‐dimethyl‐1‐pyrazolyl)hydroborate), has been synthesized. Subsequent terminal ligand substitution has produced a series of EBDC clusters with isostructural cores. Further studies of the series of nitride‐containing EBDC clusters are focused on their structures and redox properties, as well as comparisons with their W analogs. The results indicate that the core structures of these clusters are affected by distinct hetero‐metal centers and different terminal ligands to a limited extent, but the redox behavior and redox potentials of these clusters differ significantly. This work provides us with a viable method for regulating the properties of the nitride‐containing EBDC clusters, which may be enlightening for further studies of the rearrangement reactions towards mimicking the FeMoco structure. Background: With frequent conflicts, natural disasters, and public health emergencies globally, mobile medical teams (MMTs) are becoming increasingly critical. Importantly, the competency of critical care nurses in MMTs can substantially affect the effectiveness and quality of its rescue efforts. Yet, these nurses' competencies are not well understood. Aim: This study examined the competencies of critical care nurses in MMTs using the Onion Model. Study Design: A qualitative descriptive method was used to describe the competencies of Chinese MMT critical care nurses. From April to May 2022, a convenience sample of 18 participants (14 critical care nurses and 4 surgeons) from 10 MMTs was recruited for semi‐structured interviews. Deductive and inductive coding methods were combined for content analysis. Results: In total, 29 competencies were identified, which were grouped into four major domains using the Onion Model. From the outer to inner layers, these domains were knowledge and skills, professional abilities, professional quality, and personal traits. Several novel competencies emerged, including field medical equipment operation skills, on‐site hazard identification and safety prevention skills, triage knowledge, and field survival skills. Conclusions: Using the Onion Model, this study furthers the understanding of the competency of critical care nurses in MMTs, especially by revealing the novel competencies. Further, the results can be used to recruit, evaluate, and train critical care nurses for MMTs. Relevance to Clinical Practice: Understanding MMT critical care nurses' competencies can help managers plan and provide relevant training and education before deployment, which can improve nurses' performance, and especially reduce the mortalities and disabilities from trauma. The protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs) can convert the chemical energy of fuel directly into electric power, with the advantages of high efficiency and alternative fuel range at intermediate temperatures. Ammonia has been regarded as a promising fuel for PCFCs due to its carbon‐free and hydrogen‐rich properties, high volumetric energy density and easy storage/transportation. However, the performance of ammonia PCFCs (NH3‐PCFCs) is far inferior to the hydrogen PCFCs (H2‐PCFCs) because of the sluggish and complex kinetics at anodes. In this study, we established an elementary reaction kinetic model for NH3‐PCFCs, investigated the effect of reaction parameters, anode components and reaction partition, and explored the coupling mechanism between the ammonia decomposition and electrochemical reaction. Importantly, the ammonia decomposition and electrochemical reaction can be flexibly regulated by adjusting anode parameters, then affecting the performance ratio of NH3‐PCFCs and H2‐PCFCs. The detailed rate‐determining steps were further identified by experimental and model analysis. Thus, the ammonia/hydrogen performance ratio of the cell can exceed 95% at 550°C after accelerating the ammonia decomposition reaction. The inherent and unique charge‐carrier release characteristics of piezoelectric sonosensitizers with desired bandgap can be leveraged to initiate reactive oxygen species (ROS) reactions that have considerable potential for sonodynamic therapy (SDT). In this study, a bimetallic Bi4NbO8Br‐polyvinylpyrrolidone (BNOBP) with a small bandgap (2.45 eV) is synthesized as a potential piezoelectric sonosensitizer. The robust interactions within and between the Bi─O and Nb─O layers narrow the bandgap, facilitating carrier transfer. Concurrently, compared with that of TiO2 and BiOBr, BNOBP exhibits a rapid acoustoelectric response and desirable electron–hole separation efficiency, enabling the generation of ·O2− under ultrasound (US) irradiation. Notably, BNOBP alleviates the overexpression of glutathione (GSH) in tumors and prevents the consumption of the generated ROS by GSH. Combining the previous small bandgap endow the high ROS generation efficiency, this study provides a paradigm for in situ regulation of oxidative stress levels in tumor tissue microenvironment based on bimetallic piezoelectric sonosensitizers. A highly efficient carbonylation of aryl halides using half‐sandwich iridium catalysis was developed, providing a new avenue for synthesizing carboxylic ester derivatives and yielding consistently impressive results. These iridium complexes demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in the coupling reaction using phenyl formate derivatives as the source of CO, phenol, and aryl halides as the starting material in the presence of air and possessed good air and moisture stability properties. Ester products with different substituents were synthesized at low reaction temperatures without the need for an inert atmosphere, leading to high yields. The broad substrate scope, impressive catalytic activity, and mild reaction conditions suggest promising industrial applications for this catalytic system. The desired metal complexes 1–4 have been well proven by attenuated total reflectance‐Fourier transform infrared (ATR‐FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and elemental analysis (EA). The molecular structure of the cyclometalated iridium complexes 2 and 3 was proven through X‐ray crystallography. Inorganic persistent phosphors feature great potential for cancer diagnosis due to the long luminescence lifetime, low background scattering, and minimal autofluorescence. With the prominent advantages of near‐infrared light, such as deep penetration, high resolution, low autofluorescence, and tissue absorption, persistent phosphors can be used for deep bioimaging. We focus on highlighting inorganic persistent phosphors, emphasizing the synthesis methods and applications in cancer diagnostics. Typical synthetic methods such as the high‐temperature solid state, thermal decomposition, hydrothermal/solvothermal, and template methods are proposed to obtain small‐size phosphors for biological organisms. The luminescence mechanisms of inorganic persistent phosphors with different excitation are discussed and effective matrixes including galliumate, germanium, aluminate, and fluoride are explored. Finally, the current directions where inorganic persistent phosphors can continue to be optimized and how to further overcome the challenges in cancer diagnosis are summarized. Transformation optics (TO) provides a powerful tool to manipulate electromagnetic waves, enabling the design of invisibility cloaks, which can render objects invisible. Despite many years of research, however, invisibility cloaks experimentally realized thus far can only operate at a single frequency. The narrow bandwidth significantly restricts the practical applications of invisibility cloaks and other TO devices. Here, a general design strategy is proposed to realize a multiband anisotropic metamaterial characterized by two principal permittivity components, i.e., one infinite and the other spatially gradient. Through a proper transformation and combination of such metamaterials, an omnidirectional invisibility cloak is experimentally implemented, which is impedance‐matched to free space at multiple frequencies. Both far‐field numerical simulations and near‐field experimental mappings confirm that this cloak can successfully suppress scattering from multiple large‐scale objects simultaneously at 5 and 10 GHz. All‐solid‐state lithium–sulfur batteries (ASSLSBs) are expected to be the next generation of high‐energy battery systems due to their long lifespan and high safety. However, unstable interfaces between elemental sulfur, conductive carbon, and solid electrolytes lead to slow charge transport and mechanical failures, thereby limiting battery performance. Herein, atomic layer deposition‐derived lithium phosphorus oxide is applied to the surface of carbon/sulfur particles to enhance the interfacial stability of the sulfur cathode and improve the electrochemical performance of ASSLSBs. The coating layer can inhibit electrolyte decomposition and improve interfacial stability by blocking electron conduction between carbon and electrolyte. Moreover, it not only serves as an ion‐conducting layer to facilitate Li+ transport but also acts as a stress buffer layer to alleviate contact failure. The assembled ASSLSBs with sulfide electrolyte exhibit an initial specific capacity of 1322 mAh g−1 at 0.2 C and capacity retention of 86.4% after 300 cycles. Furthermore, ASSLSBs maintain a reversible capacity of 645 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 after 1000 cycles, confirming the long cycling stability of the coated sulfur cathode. Even under high sulfur loading, ASSLSBs achieve high areal capacities of 4.6 mAh cm−2 at 30 °C and 11.7 mAh cm−2 at 60 °C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from dental pulp stem cells (DPSC) have been shown an excellent efficacy in a variety of disease models. However, current production methods fail to meet the needs of clinical treatment. In this study, we present an innovative approach to substantially enhance the production of 'Artificial Cell‐Derived Vesicles (ACDVs)' by extracting and purifying the contents released by the DPSC lysate, namely intracellular vesicles. Comparative analysis was performed between ACDVs and those obtained through ultracentrifugation. The ACDVs extracted from the cell lysate meet the general standard of EVs and have similar protein secretion profile. The new ACDVs also significantly promoted wound healing, increased or decreased collagen regeneration, and reduced the production of inflammatory factors as the EVs. More importantly, the extraction efficiency is improved by 16 times compared with the EVs extracted using ultracentrifuge method. With its impressive attributes, this new subtype of ACDVs emerge as a prospective candidate for the future clinical applications in regenerative medicine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: This study adopted the qualitative research method, aiming to explore the learning experience of nursing graduate professional curricula in China from the perspective of students and provided a basis for the continuous improvement of nursing graduate training. Design: A qualitative study. Methods: A purposive sampling method was employed to conduct semi‐structured in‐depth interviews with 14 nursing master's students enrolled in professional curricula from September 03, 2021, to December 8, 2022. The Colaizzi seven‐step analysis method was utilized for data analysis, summarization and extraction. Results: Four themes emerged from the study findings: (i) The study of professional curricula is the cornerstone of scientific research work, but it is relatively boring; (ii) The teaching methods and assessment methods of postgraduate education need to be diversified; (iii) The postgraduate education needs to increase the study time of specialized courses and highlight the specialty characteristics; (iv) the study of professional curricula can enhance the comprehensive ability of postgraduate students. Conclusion: The study of professional curricula for post‐graduate nursing students plays an important role in the development of post‐graduate research and can statistically significant improve their comprehensive ability, but there are some problems such as boring courses, single teaching assessment methods and insufficient time. In the future teaching reform, it is necessary to highlight the specialty characteristics of nursing scientific research, optimize curriculum education and improve students' scientific research knowledge and thinking. Polyol esters are abundant bio‐based resources. Integration of polyol esters into the production chain of fine chemicals would reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of the chemical industry. An efficient synthetic route to phenoxyethanols was developed through catalytic hydroxyethylation of phenols with ethylene glycol diacetate as the reagent. This method showed the potential of ethylene glycol diester as a safe and sustainable substitute for ethylene oxide, a useful but toxic reagent. A variety of phenoxyethanol esters were produced in high yield under simple catalytic conditions. Mechanistic studies revealed that the reaction underwent a neighboring group participation process. A challenge hindering the development of durable solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) is the significant performance degradation of cathodes owing to poisoning by volatile Cr originating from the Fe─Cr alloy interconnect. Herein, a heterogeneous catalyst coating, composed of Ba1−xCe0.8Gd0.2O3–δ and BaCO3, remarkably improves the oxygen adsorption, dissociation capability, and Cr resistance of a La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3–δ (LSCF) cathode is demonstrated. The coherent heterointerface interactions formed between the catalyst coating and LSCF result in varied levels of surface strain and electrostatic interactions, significantly suppressing Sr surface segregation on LSCF. A single cell with the catalyst coating‐decorated LSCF (CC‐LSCF) achieves a peak power density of 1.73 W cm−2 at 750 °C, with no noticeable performance degradation for 100 h. The CC‐LSCF cathode also exhibits outstanding durability under accelerated Cr poisoning conditions, compared with the tremendous degradation rate of 0.42% h−1 for the bare LSCF cathode. The enhanced Cr resistance is attributed to synergy induced by the stabilization of the lattice Sr cations by heterointerface interactions and the remarkable structural stability of the catalyst coating under Cr poisoning conditions. A new [Cp*IrClL] half‐sandwich iridium complex was successfully synthesized by coordinating an acylhydrazone ligand with [Cp*IrCl2]2, followed by comprehensive characterization using various spectroscopic and analytical techniques. Complex 3 was subjected to crystal structure analysis, revealing that the acylhydrazone ligand coordinates with the iridium through bidentate coordination involving the imidolate oxygen and imine nitrogen atoms. This interaction resulted in the formation of a pseudo‐octahedral geometry with the iridium center. The iridium complexes 1–4, which are stable in the presence of air and moisture, exhibit significant catalyst performance in the N‐alkylation reactions of hydrazides under gentle reaction conditions. This iridium complex catalyzes various types of alcohols to undergo N‐alkylation reactions with acyl hydrazides via a one‐pot method, yielding diverse N‐alkylated hydrazide derivatives. The catalyst displayed exceptional catalytic efficiency, a broad variety of substrates, and gentle reaction conditions, indicating its significant potential for industrial applications. All solid‐state lithium–sulfur batteries (ASSLSBs) have attracted significant attention due to their enhanced safety and superior energy density. However, the considerable volume change during cycling poses a challenge, resulting in electrochemical‐mechanical degradation. To address this issue, polypyrrole (PPy) is coated on a nitrogen‐doped carbon nanotube (NCNT) network to exhibit suitable conductivity and compatibility with sulfide electrolyte. Functionally, PPy@NCNT provides a continuous and conductive pathway, reducing the tortuosity of charge transport. Mechanically, operando pressure measurements and atomic force microscopy (AFM) tests are conducted, demonstrating that the flexible and viscoelastic structure of PPy@NCNT can alleviate local stress. The axial pressure on the cathode can be reduced by 11% with a sulfur area capacity of 3 mg cm−2 at 30 °C. At a high areal mass loading of 4.5 mg cm−2, a high areal capacity of 6 mAh cm−2 (1348 mAh g−1, 1C = 1675 mA g−1) is achieved at 0.1C, maintaining stability over 300 cycles at 0.2C. Remarkably, it can achieve an areal capacity of over 8.8 mAh cm−2 and stable cycling even at 60 °C. This study, being the first to regulate mechano‐electrochemical action in ASSLSBs with flexible conducting polymer, highlights the significance of integrating a continuous and elastic network into solid‐state conversion‐type cathodes. Haze pollution (HP) is one of the most serious disasters in the Sichuan Basin (SCB), adversely affecting human health, transportation, tourism and agriculture. HP in December is severe and differs from the haze days in January and February in terms of their temporal variations. To improve the understanding of December haze days in the SCB (DHDSCB), this study not only shows the atmospheric circulations and local meteorological circumstances related with the haze variation, but also analyses its relationship with the prior atmospheric apparent heat source over the Tibetan Plateau (TP) and the sea surface temperature (SST). The key circulation system associated with the interannual variation of the DHDSCB is that the SCB is controlled by the positive geopotential height anomalies and anomalous anticyclonic circulations with weak southwestward water vapour transport. Moreover, unfavourable local meteorological circumstances limit the vertical (horizontal) dispersion of pollutants. In addition, the DHDSCB during 1981–2022 is also found to have significant relationships with two preceding climate factors, which are the atmospheric apparent heat source (Q1) over the western TP in preceding November and the SST difference between the western Maritime Continent and western Australia in preceding autumn. The enhancement of Q1 over the western TP in preceding November is closely related to the midlatitude North Atlantic–southern Mediterranean Middle East–Arabian Sea–TP and its downstream region teleconnection pattern. Consequently, the anticyclonic circulation prevails over the SCB, and SCB is with less precipitation and more haze days in December. The western Maritime Continent and western Australia SST pattern in preceding Autumn is correlated with the Bay of Bengal–eastern TP and its downstream–Japan–Bering Sea teleconnection pattern, providing unfavourable moisture condition for the precipitation over the SCB and leading to the onset, development and maintenance of static weather in December. Therefore, the Q1 over the western TP and the SST pattern over the western Maritime Continent and western Australia may be potential indicators for the subseasonal prediction of HP in the SCB in December. Plasmon hybridization plays a crucial role in subwavelength light control, offering remarkable field enhancement. However, engineering the resonance properties becomes increasingly challenging since the field enhancement generally makes the resonance more sensitive to geometric deformation. To this end, a shape‐immuned hybridization model with localized spoof plasmonic skyrmions in the platform of ultra‐compact spoof plasmonic dimer structures is proposed. Contrary to conventional wisdom, the revealed hybrid systems exhibit shape‐independent resonance properties thanks to the topological nature of localized spoof plasmonic skyrmions. On the other hand, the strong magnetic coupling between skyrmions results in the splitting of the skyrmion resonances into two new resonances (corresponding to bonding and antibonding skyrmions, respectively). The experimental results reflect that the frequency separation of bonding and antibonding skyrmions is extremely sensitive to the coupling distance of dimer structures (with a maximum sensitivity of up to 10.875 GHz mm−1). The findings not only complete the theory of skyrmion hybridization but also apply to novel multimode topological sensors that are compact and highly sensitive to micro‐displacement. Aim: Description of the driving forces for genetic divergence is important for understanding spatial pattern of biodiversity and development of conservation plans. Paleo‐climate, geographical barriers and habitat heterogeneity are considered to be the main influential factors; however, an integrative study is still lacking to reveal their interactions. Location: Eastern North America. Methods: Here, we generated MIG‐seq SNPs of 403 Sanguinaria canadensis samples and seven plastome data. The methods of phylogeography and landscape genomics were applied to infer their genetic divergence, demography, species distribution modelling, ecological differentiation and local adaptation. Results: We identified three distinct genetic lineages corresponding to geographical distributions isolated by the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi River. Ecological niche modelling and population demographic inference demonstrated that the response of S. canadensis to Pleistocene climate changes was consistent with the pattern of southward contraction during the ice age and northward recolonization during the inter−/postglacial period. Isolation in multiple southern refugia was a key factor resulting in the genetic divergence, whereas secondary contact triggered by repeated range shifts allowed gene flow among different lineages. A greater effect of isolation‐by‐environment than isolation‐by‐distance was founded, which suggested heterogeneous environment was also a promotor of genetic differentiation. Candidate adaptive loci related to transposable elements were identified under the influence of divergent environmental selection. Ecological niche divergence also reflected adaptation to different environments. Main Conclusions: This study revealed that genetic divergence has occurred within S. canadensis populations under the combined effect of paleo‐climate, geographical barriers and habitat heterogeneity, and emphasized the necessity of establishing different conservation units in future biological conservation and management work. The branch point singularities in the Riemann surface of the parameter space are known as the exceptional points (EPs), at which two or more eigenvalues and their associated eigenvectors simultaneously coalesce. The abrupt bifurcation property around an EP shows a strong spectral response to external perturbations, and hence, is exploited as a new approach to ultrasensitive sensors. Recently, an intriguing proposal for implementing second‐order EPs in optical resonators with external perturbations has shown the superiority of non‐Hermitian degeneracies in the enhancement of sensing. Of particular importance is further improving the sensitivity to even greater extents. To this end, a novel physical mechanism is proposed, namely introducing extra resonances of external Rayleigh scatterers to accomplish strong‐coupling augmentation in sensing. The results, grounded by both theoretical coupled‐mode‐theory calculations and experimental spectral‐domain measurements, show that the EP‐based sensor working at the coherent resonance equips simultaneously substantial perturbation strength and azimuth sensitivity even subjected to extremely weak perturbations. Background and Aim: Cohort studies have linked metabolic syndrome (MetS) to gastrointestinal (GI) cancer risk. We aimed to evaluate the associations between MetS, its components, and combinations of MetS components with eight GI cancers risk. Methods: We conducted a systematic search of prospective cohort studies and performed a meta‐analysis. Subgroup analyses regarding diagnostic criteria, sex, cancer sites, histological subtypes, ethnic groups, and studies adjusted for alcohol consumption were carried out. Mendelian randomization (MR) was employed to evaluate the causality between 17 MetS‐related traits and eight GI cancers among Europeans and Asians separately. Results: Meta‐analyses of 31 prospective studies indicated that MetS was significantly associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.13 [1.12–1.15]), esophageal cancer (EC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.17 [1.03–1.32]), gallbladder cancer (GBC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.37[1.10–1.71]), liver cancer (LC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.46 [1.29–1.64]), and pancreatic cancer (PaC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.25 [1.20–1.30]), but not gastric cancer (GC) (RR [95% CI] = 1.11 [0.96–1.28]). Regarding the associations between MetS components and GI cancers risk, the following associations showed statistical significance: obesity‐CRC/LC/EC/, hypertriglyceridemia‐LC/PaC, reduced high‐density lipoprotein (HDL)‐CRC/LC/GC/PaC, hyperglycemia‐CRC/LC/PaC, and hypertension‐CRC/LC/EC/PaC. Sex‐specific associations were observed between individual MetS components on GI cancers risk. Among the top three common combinations in both sexes, obesity + HTN + hyperglycemia had the strongest association with CRC risk (RR [95% CI] = 1.54 [1.49–1.61] for males and 1.27 [1.21–1.33] for females). MR analyses revealed causality in 16 exposure–outcome pairs: waist‐to‐hip ratio/BMI/HbA1c‐CRC; BMI/childhood obesity/waist circumference/T2DM/glucose‐EC; BMI/waist circumference/cholesterol‐LC; cholesterol/childhood obesity/waist circumference/HbA1c‐PaC; and HbA1c‐GBC. These results were robust against sensitivity analyses. Inorganic nanoparticles have been widely used as fillers to modify dielectric elastomers to simultaneously improve mechanical and dielectric performances. Elegant interface design is crucial for achieving synergy between fillers and elastomers. Herein, we show that diborate ester polymers can both improve the interfacial compatibility between inorganic nanoparticles and elastomers and enhance the dielectric performances. The diborate ester polymers are derived from the condensation reaction between tetrakis(dimethylamino)diborane (or tetrahydroxydiborane) and a three‐armed catechol monomer. Choosing TiO2 nanoparticles as the inner core, a series of TiO2@diborate ester polymer core‐shell nanoparticles are synthesized. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate that the diborate ester polymer shell tightly bonds to the surface of TiO2 through two dissociative bidentate bridging modes of the catechol monomer (absorption energy: −11.049 eV). These core‐shell nanoparticles can soften and tough polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and show enhanced interfacial binding affinity to PDMS than naked TiO2 nanoparticles. The fabricated composites have high dielectric constants (up to 6.8) and low dielectric losses (<0.03). The actuated strain and puncture voltage of the composites reach 25.9% and 80 V μm−1, respectively, which are much higher than those of PDMS and TiO2/PDMS. Background: Mood disorders are often associated with hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis dysfunction, and rumination has been implicated in delayed cortisol recovery. However, research findings on the impact of rumination on cortisol recovery have been inconsistent. The moderating effects of scalp prefrontal–limbic connections on the relationship between rumination and cortisol recovery may explain these discrepancies. Method: Acute stress was induced by a 5‐min simulated job interview. Salivary samples and affective ratings were collected at seven pre‐determined time points. After the simulated job interview, 35 healthy adult participants were randomly assigned to either the rumination condition (n = 17) or the distraction condition (n = 18). Results: Inducing stress and rumination led to increased cortisol levels, negative mood, and state rumination. Compared with the distraction group, the rumination group displayed delayed cortisol recovery and decreased scalp prefrontal–limbic connectivities, that is, left ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (LVLPFC) and left temporal area (LTMP) [ps <.05], and right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (RDLPFC) and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) [ps <.05]. The relationship between rumination and cortisol recovery was moderated by connectivities between the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (LDLPFC) and LTMP, RDLPFC and LTMP, LDLPFC and ACC, and RDLPFC and ACC [B = −0.98 to −0.35, SE = 0.15–0.34, ps <.05]. Higher rumination combined with reduced scalp prefrontal–limbic connectivities to predict delayed cortisol recovery. Conclusion: The current findings suggest that scalp prefrontal–limbic connectivity is a neural underpinning related to emotion regulation for the effects of state rumination on stress recovery. These findings also provide a potential target for non‐invasive intervention in HPA axis dysregulation. Our study identifies a potential neural mechanism for emotion regulation explaining how rumination affects the HPA axis and providing a neural target for non‐invasive interventions in HPA axis regulation. We complement previous evidence that scalp prefrontal–limbic connectivity moderates the rumination‐HPA axis recovery relationship. Specifically, higher rumination combined with reduced prefrontal–limbic connectivity, which is related to impaired emotion regulation, together predict delayed cortisol recovery. Aim: To explore the neuroprotective effects of ARA290 and the role of β‐common receptor (βCR) in a mouse model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO). Methods: This study included male C57BL/6J mice that underwent MCAO and reperfusion. The neuroprotective effect of ARA290 on MCAO‐induced brain injury was investigated using neurological function tests (Longa and modified neurological severity score). Cerebral infarction was examined by 2, 3, 5‐triphenyl tetrazolium chloride staining, neuronal apoptosis was assessed by immunofluorescence staining, blood parameters were measured using a flow cytometry‐based automated hematology analyzer, liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry was used to identify the serum metabolomics signature, inflammatory cytokines and liver index were detected by commercially available kits, and the protein levels of the erythropoietin (EPO) receptor and βCR were measured by western blot. Results: ARA290 exerted a qualitatively similar neuroprotective effect after MCAO as EPO. ARA290 significantly reduced neuronal apoptosis and the level of inflammatory cytokines in the brain tissue. However, ARA290's neuroprotective effect was significantly suppressed following the injection of siRNA against βCR. Conclusion: ARA290 provided a neuroprotective effect via βCR in cerebral ischemic mice without causing erythropoiesis. Paddy fields serve as significant reservoirs of soil organic carbon (SOC) and their potential for terrestrial carbon (C) sequestration is closely associated with changes in SOC pools. However, there has been a dearth of comprehensive studies quantifying changes in SOC pools following extended periods of rice cultivation across a broad geographical scale. Using 104 rice paddy sampling sites that have been in continuous cultivation since the 1980s across China, we studied the changes in topsoil (0–20 cm) labile organic C (LOC I), semi‐labile organic C (LOC II), recalcitrant organic C (ROC), and total SOC. We found a substantial increase in both the content (48%) and density (39%) of total SOC within China's paddy fields between the 1980s to the 2010s. Intriguingly, the rate of increase in content and density of ROC exceeded that of LOC (I and II). Using a structural equation model, we revealed that changes in the content and density of total SOC were mainly driven by corresponding shifts in ROC, which are influenced both directly and indirectly by climatic and soil physicochemical factors; in particular temperature, precipitation, phosphorous (P) and clay content. We also showed that the δ13CLOC were greater than δ13CROC, independent of the rice cropping region, and that there was a significant positive correlation between δ13CSOC and δ13Cstraw. The δ13CLOC and δ13CSOC showed significantly negative correlation with soil total Si, suggesting that soil Si plays a part in the allocation of C into different SOC pools, and its turnover or stabilization. Anionic redox activity can trigger structural instability in Li‐rich Mn‐based cathodes. Lattice oxygen activity can be tuned through liquid acid‐induced spinel phases and oxygen vacancies. However, the liquid‐acid‐modified surface is still attacked by the electrolyte. Besides, the underlying mechanism of spinel phase suppression of lattice oxygen activity is controversial. Here, a solid acid strategy for modification is proposed and the underlying mechanism is investigated in detail. Unique solid acid can in situ generate an interface protection layer and remarkably stabilize the structure. Theoretical calculations and experimental characterizations reveal that the spinel phase suppresses the irreversible loss of lattice oxygen by decreasing the O 2p non‐bonding energy level and enriching electrons at the layered/spinel phase interface. The inert layer on the surface prevents highly active On− from being attacked by electrolytes. The obtained material exhibits significantly reduced irreversible lattice oxygen release and improved electrochemical performance. After 300 cycles, a slow capacity fading of 0.177 mAh g−1 per cycle and suppressed voltage fading are achieved. This study systematically evaluated the effect of hydrocolloid dressings on facial pressure ulcers in patients receiving non‐invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV). The Embase, PubMed, Cochrane Library, CNKI, VIP, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Wanfang databases were searched for randomised controlled trials on the use of hydrocolloid dressings in patients receiving NIPPV published from the inception of each database to August 2023. The literature was independently screened, data were extracted by two authors based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the quality of the included literature was assessed. The meta‐analysis was performed using Stata 17.0. Thirteen studies including 1248 patients were included, with 639 patients in the intervention group and 609 patients in the control group. Meta‐analysis showed that the hydrocolloid dressing significantly reduced the incidence of facial pressure ulcers in patients with NIPPV (odds ratio = 0.16, 95% confidence intervals: 0.11–0.24, p < 0.001). Hydrocolloid dressings are effective in reducing the incidence of facial pressure ulcers in patients receiving NIPPV. However, because of the small number of included studies, this conclusion needs to be confirmed with larger samples and high‐quality clinical studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Phytoalexins play a crucial role in plant immunity. However, the mechanism of how phytoalexin is primed by beneficial microorganisms against broad‐spectrum pathogens remains elusive. This study showed that Bacillus cereus AR156 could trigger ISR against broad‐spectrum disease. RNA‐sequencing and camalexin content assays showed that AR156‐triggered ISR can prime the accumulation of camalexin synthesis and secretion‐related genes. Moreover, it was found that AR156‐triggered ISR elevates camalexin accumulation by increasing the expression of camalexin synthesis genes upon pathogen infection. We observed that the priming of camalexin accumulation by AR156 was abolished in cyp71a13 and pad3 mutants. Further investigations reveal that in the wrky33 mutant, the ability of AR156 to prime camalexin accumulation is abolished, and the mediated ISR against the three pathogens is significantly compromised. Furthermore, PEN3 and PDR12, acting as camalexin transporters, participate in AR156‐induced ISR against broad‐spectrum pathogens differently. In addition, salicylic acid and JA/ET signalling pathways participate in AR156‐primed camalexin synthesis to resist pathogens in different forms depending on the pathogen. In summary, B. cereus AR156 triggers ISR against Botrytis cinerea, Pst DC3000 and Phytophthora capsici by priming camalexin synthesis. Our study provides deeper insights into the significant role of camalexin for AR156‐induced ISR against broad‐spectrum pathogens. Clear species boundaries are crucial for plans and actions on biodiversity conservation. However, morphological similarities among allied species can result in taxonomic difficulties, thus impeding conservation efforts. In China, Cinnamomum japonicumSiebold is a well‐known endangered plant, yet suffers from longstanding taxonomic issues. Here, we explicitly evaluate whether C. japonicum, C. chenii, and C. chekiangense are the same phylogenetic species on the basis of a multi‐individual sampling strategy. We identified three sets of low‐copy orthologous genes from 19 Lauraceae taxa for phylogenetic inferences. Both the concatenation and coalescent‐based phylogenies supported that C. chenii individuals were embedded in the C. japonicum clade, indicating these two taxa are conspecific. Meanwhile, C. chekiangense accessions formed a monophyly which was not sister to C. japonicum. This result, together with the morphological differences that the leaves of C. japonicum are glabrous with a faveolate pattern of venation while those of C. chekiangense have trichomes and inevident lateral veins, led us to consider both as two distinct species. Based on 17 728 neutral single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), the ADMIXTURE analysis suggested that the Chinese C. japonicum populations in Zhoushan Archipelago (=C. chenii) were genetically differentiated from the Japanese and Korean ones. Furthermore, ecological niche modeling predicted that the present distribution area of Chinese C. japonicum is likely to be unsuitable under global warming scenarios. Unique names have commonly been viewed as undesirable. However, our studies (total N = 6049) suggest the opposite: unique names are perceived as favourable to creativity in occupational contexts. Generally, people held a perception that unique‐named individuals are more creative (albeit less likable) and therefore more suitable for jobs requiring greater creativity (Studies 1–2). Accordingly, participants tended to select candidates with more unique names for creative positions (Study 3) and recommend more unique names to workers in creative jobs for a name change (Study 4). Furthermore, real‐world archival data revealed that artists (typical creative professions) tended to adopt more unique new names, which was replicated cross‐culturally in American, British, and Chinese samples (Study 5), and that Chinese movie directors with more unique names received higher evaluations for the movies they directed (Study 6). Fostering human–wildlife coexistence necessitates a thorough and nuanced grasp of local attitudes toward wildlife. Attitudes can vary substantially based on the sociodemographic backgrounds of individuals within a society. This study examines Tibetan attitudes toward large carnivores, emphasizing the importance of contextualization in discerning the effects of sociodemographic factors on attitudes. We began by analyzing existing research on Tibetan attitudes toward wildlife in China, identifying previously studied sociodemographic variables. We then executed an online survey to evaluate the affective, behavioral, cognitive, and overall attitudes of ethnic Tibetans in China toward snow leopards (Panthera uncia), gray wolves (Canis lupus), and brown bears (Ursus arctos). Our findings show that while factors such as gender, age, religious identity, and level of education shape these attitudes, their influence differs depending on the specific attitude component and the target animal under examination. Therefore, making broad generalizations about sociodemographic differences in attitudes can be misleading. It is imperative for attitude research to clearly define the attitude component (what type of attitude), object (attitude toward what), and circumstance (attitude in which situation) being studied. Conducting ethnographic fieldwork in collaboration with local cultural experts can deepen our understanding of local perspectives and the ways sociodemographic factors influence attitudes. Plant‐ and microbially derived carbon (C) are the two major sources of soil organic matter (SOM), and their ratio impacts SOM composition, accumulation, stability, and turnover. The contributions of and the key factors defining the plant and microbial C in SOM along the soil profile are not well known. By leveraging nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and biomarker analysis, we analyzed the plant and microbial C in three soil types using regional‐scale sampling and combined these results with a meta‐analysis. Topsoil (0–40 cm) was rich in carbohydrates and lignin (38%–50%), whereas subsoil (40–100 cm) contained more proteins and lipids (26%–60%). The proportion of plant C increases, while microbial C decreases with SOM content. The decrease rate of the ratio of the microbially derived C to plant‐derived C (CM:P) with SOM content was 23%–30% faster in the topsoil than in the subsoil in the regional study and meta‐analysis. The topsoil had high potential to stabilize plant‐derived C through intensive microbial transformations and microbial necromass formation. Plant C input and mean annual soil temperature were the main factors defining CM:P in topsoil, whereas the fungi‐to‐bacteria ratio and clay content were the main factors influencing subsoil CM:P. Combining a regional study and meta‐analysis, we highlighted the contribution of plant litter to microbial necromass to organic matter up to 1‐m soil depth and elucidated the main factors regulating their long‐term preservation. Hot electron photodetection based on metallic nanostructures is attracting significant attention due to its potential to overcome the limitation of the traditional semiconductor bandgap. To enable efficient hot electron photodetection for practical applications, it is necessary to achieve broadband and perfect light absorption within extremely thin plasmonic nanostructures using cost‐effective fabrication techniques. In this study, an ultrahigh optical absorption (up to 97.3% in average across the spectral range of 1200−2400 nm) is demonstrated in the ultrathin plasmonic nanoneedle arrays (NNs) with thickness of 10 nm, based on an all‐wet metal‐assisted chemical etching process. The efficient hot electron generation, transport, and injection at the nanoscale apex of the nanoneedles facilitate the photodetector to achieve a record low noise equivalent power (NEP) of 4.4 × 10−12 W Hz−0.5 at the wavelength of 1300 nm. The hot‐electron generation and injection process are elucidated through a transport model based on a Monte Carlo approach, which quantitatively matches the experimental data. The photodetector is further integrated into a light imaging system, as a demonstration of the exceptional imaging capabilities at the near‐IR regime. The study presents a lithography‐free, scalable, and cost‐effective approach to enhance hot electron photodetection, with promising prospects for future imaging systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: Anti‐reflux mucosectomy (ARMS) is an emerging and promising endoscopic treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In the current study we aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ARMS in treating Chinese GERD patients. Methods: This was a single‐center prospective cohort study. ARMS was performed in GERD patients by an experienced endoscopist. The patients were required to undergo symptom assessment as well as endoscopic examination, high‐resolution manometry (HRM), and impedance‐pH monitoring before and after ARMS. Results: Twelve patients were enrolled. Follow‐up was completed by all patients at 3 and 6 months, 11 patients at 1 year, and 8 patients at 2 years after ARMS, respectively. Symptom improvement was achieved in 66.7%, 75.0%, 72.7%, and 50.0% of the patients at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after ARMS, respectively. Postoperative dysphagia was reported by 25.0%, 25.0%, 27.3%, and 25.0% of patients at 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years after surgery, none of whom required additional invasive treatment. All patients with preoperative esophagitis healed after ARMS. For impedance‐pH monitoring parameters, number of acidic reflux episodes and the proportion of patients with acid exposure time (AET) >4.0% decreased significantly after ARMS. Conclusions: ARMS was safe and effective in Chinese GERD patients. The efficacy of ARMS was not short‐term and remained evident throughout the 2‐year follow‐up. In cell culture process development, we rely largely on an iterative, one‐factor‐at‐a‐time procedure based on experiments that explore a limited process space. Design of experiments (DoE) addresses this issue by allowing us to analyze the effects of process inputs on process responses systematically and efficiently. However, DoE cannot be applied directly to study time‐varying process inputs unless an impractically large number of bioreactors is used. Here, we adopt the methodology of design of dynamic experiments (DoDE) and incorporate dynamic feeding profiles efficiently in late‐stage process development of the manufacture of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. We found that, for the specific cell line used in this article, (1) not only can we estimate the effect of nutrient feed amount on various product attributes, but we can also estimate the effect, develop a statistical model, and use the model to optimize the slope of time‐trended feed rates; (2) in addition to the slope, higher‐order dynamic characteristics of time‐trended feed rates can be incorporated in the design but do not have any significant effect on the responses we measured. Based on the DoDE data, we developed a statistical model and used the model to optimize several process conditions. Our effort resulted in a tangible improvement in productivity—compared with the baseline process without dynamic feeding, this optimized process in a 200‐L batch achieved a 27% increase in titer and > 92% viability. Singlet oxygen (1O2) is an excellent reactive oxygen species (ROSs) for the selective conversion of organic matter, especially in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). However, due to the huge dilemma in synthesizing single‐site type catalysts, the control and regulation of 1O2 generation in AOPs is still challenging and the underlying mechanism remains largely obscure. Here, taking advantage of the well‐defined and flexibly tunable sites of covalent organic frameworks (COFs), we report the first achievement in precisely regulating ROSs generation in peroxymonosulfate (PMS)‐based AOPs by site engineering of COFs. Remarkably, COFs with bipyridine units (BPY‐COFs) facilitate PMS activation via a nonradical pathway with 100 % 1O2, whereas biphenyl‐based COFs (BPD‐COFs) with almost identical structures activate PMS to produce radicals (⋅OH and SO4⋅−). The BPY‐COFs/PMS system delivers boosted performance for selective degradation of target pollutants from water, which is ca. 9.4 times that of its BPD‐COFs counterpart, surpassing most reported PMS‐based AOPs systems. Mechanism analysis indicated that highly electronegative pyridine‐N atoms on BPY‐COFs provide extra sites to adsorb the terminal H atoms of PMS, resulting in simultaneous adsorption of O and H atoms of PMS on one pyridine ring, which facilitates the cleavage of its S−O bond to generate 1O2. Deep‐buried tissue, extremely hypoxic blood supply, and complex tumor microenvironment are considered to be the hardest difficult barriers to the accurate treatment of pancreatic cancer. Herein, a novel Au@Co3O4 (AC)‐polyvinylpyrrolidone (AC‐PVP) sonocatalytic agent and radiation sensitizer with a multicore–shell structure are synthesized by a mild reduction method for reshaping the special physiological environment of pancreatic cancer. Oxygen storms can be generated under ultrasonic activation by in situ catalyzed H2O2 in tumor tissue. The oxygen storm improves the ability to produce superoxide anions by sonodynamic therapy as well as rapidly supplements the oxygen‐dependent on active oxygen such as auger electrons produced by high‐energy ray ionization during radiotherapy (RT), further enhancing the efficiency of RT. Interestingly, AC‐PVP can reduce the intracellular glutathione (GSH) level, thus preventing the generated reactive oxygen species from being consumed by GSH. More importantly, the glucose oxidase‐like of AC‐PVP can catalyze glucose in tumor tissue to produce H2O2, and continuously provide substrates for sonocatalytic to form self‐cycling oxygen production. This study offers a novel paradigm for achieving in situ precise self‐oxygenation to overcome the special physiological barrier of pancreatic cancer and efficient sonodynamic synergistic radiotherapy. Objective: In this study we aimed to compare the need for further examination with conventional gastroscopy within 1 year after magnetically assisted capsule endoscopy (MCCE) examination between patients with gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms and asymptomatic individuals. Methods: After propensity score matching analysis, 372 patients with GI symptoms and 372 asymptomatic individuals who had undergone MCCE at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat‐sen University from January 1, 2019 to December 30, 2020 were retrospectively enrolled. Demographic and clinical characteristics of the participants and their MCCE and gastroscopic findings (performed within 1 year after MCCE) were analyzed. Results: Fifty‐one (6.85%) patients underwent further examination with conventional gastroscopy within 1 year after MCCE. Those with GI symptoms were more likely to undergo conventional gastroscopy than those without (9.95% vs 3.76%, P < 0.001). Polyps were the most common finding of MCCE. The rate of conventional gastroscopy in patients with focal lesions was significantly higher than that in those without focal lesions (P < 0.05). However, such rate did not differ in the different age groups (P = 0.106). Conclusions: MCCE is an optimal alternative for gastric examination, especially for large‐scale screening of asymptomatic individuals. Patients with GI symptoms or focal lesions detected by MCCE are more likely to seek further examination with conventional gastroscopy for biopsy or endoscopic treatment than those without. To achieve long‐term increases in soil organic carbon (SOC) storage, it is essential to understand the effects of carbon management strategies on SOC formation pathways, particularly through changes in microbial necromass carbon (MNC) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC). Using a 14‐year field study, we demonstrate that both biochar and maize straw lifted the SOC ceiling, but through different pathways. Biochar, while raising SOC and DOC content, decreased substrate degradability by increasing carbon aromaticity. This resulted in suppressed microbial abundance and enzyme activity, which lowered soil respiration, weakened in vivo turnover and ex vivo modification for MNC production (i.e., low microbial carbon pump "efficacy"), and led to lower efficiency in decomposing MNC, ultimately resulting in the net accumulation of SOC and MNC. In contrast, straw incorporation increased the content and decreased the aromaticity of SOC and DOC. The enhanced SOC degradability and soil nutrient content, such as total nitrogen and total phosphorous, stimulated the microbial population and activity, thereby boosting soil respiration and enhancing microbial carbon pump "efficacy" for MNC production. The total C added to biochar and straw plots were estimated as 27.3–54.5 and 41.4 Mg C ha−1, respectively. Our results demonstrated that biochar was more efficient in lifting the SOC stock via exogenous stable carbon input and MNC stabilization, although the latter showed low "efficacy". Meanwhile, straw incorporation significantly promoted net MNC accumulation but also stimulated SOC mineralization, resulting in a smaller increase in SOC content (by 50%) compared to biochar (by 53%–102%). The results address the decadal‐scale effects of biochar and straw application on the formation of the stable organic carbon pool in soil, and understanding the causal mechanisms can allow field practices to maximize SOC content. As productive and essential ecosystems, coastal wetlands have experienced increased environmental impacts such as saltwater intrusion and eutrophication, resulting in significant shifts in microbially mediated ecosystem functions, such as carbon sequestration and nutrient transformations. The soil microbial respiration, a primary process in the transfer of carbon from soil to the atmosphere, is susceptible to environmental changes. However, studies on how salinity affects soil microbial respiration in coastal wetlands have not been fully explored. Soil samples were systematically collected from divergent sampling sites covering medium‐ and extremely‐saline wetlands along a river‐estuary‐coast continuum to investigate mechanisms controlling soil microbial respiration in coastal wetlands. According to the results, the microbial biomass and carbon‐related extracellular enzyme activities were significantly lower in extremely saline (ECe >15 ds m−1, ES) than medium and highly saline soils (ECe <15 ds m−1, MHS) (p < 0.05), indicating a suppressive effect of salinity on soil microbiota. Meanwhile, high‐salinity soils had lower vector length and soil microbial respiration rates, suggesting that soils with low carbon limitation might cause less carbon loss under higher salinity environments. Moreover, it was showed that increased available phosphorus could alleviate microbial carbon limitations. Changes in the microbial functional community demonstrated that the microbial community in favor of metabolic mediates and secondary metabolites substrates (regarded as labile substrates) were more sensitive to salinity. The partial least square path modeling further confirmed that microbial nutrient limitation and microbial biomass contribute more directly to promoting soil microbial respiration. These results have substantial implications for elucidating carbon dynamics in coastal wetlands ecosystems under increased nutrient discharge and sea‐level rise. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Hypersaline wastewater management is a crucial issue for water‐energy nexus. Evaporation‐based zero liquid discharge (ZLD) desalination shows great promise to detoxify the hypersaline wastewater. However, salt formed on the evaporation surface compromises the efficiency and continuity of desalination. Here, the study reports a photothermal lubricant‐infused surface (PLIS), capable of inducing mobile salt crystallization and eliminating salt scaling during desalination. Few nuclei initiate away from the PLIS, followed by migration inward as salt growth, leading to compact crystal. The final dewetting process leaves only scattered protrusions from crystal bottom contacting with the PLIS. Such a converged small area plus pinpoint contacting mode produce an ultralow adhesion of salt to the substrate (≈2 mN mg−1), ≈40 times lower than that on a regular‐used hydrophobic surface. The salt crystal precipitated on the PLIS can be blown off easily by air flow, refreshing the evaporating surface for continuous desalination and realizing ZLD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A formulation is given for the spectral transformation of the generalized eigenvalue problem through the decomposition of the second‐order differential operators. This allows us to construct some Laurent biorthogonal polynomial systems with gaps in the degree of the polynomial sequence. These correspond to an exceptional‐type extension of the orthogonal polynomials, as an extension of the Laurent biorthogonal polynomials. Specifically, we construct the exceptional extension of the Hendriksen–van Rossum polynomials, which are biorthogonal analogs of the classical orthogonal polynomials. Materdicine‐augmented sonodynamic therapy has emerged as an efficient noninvasive strategy for cancer treatment by generating reactive oxygen species associated with the cavitation effect and sonosensitizers. However, semiconductor‐based inorganic nanosonosensitizers have undesirable nondegradability, which can cause unsatisfactory therapeutic efficacy and potential toxicity. With the aim of overcoming this obstacle, in this study, Mo‐assisted Te (MT) nanosonosensitizers with high oxidative degradation abilities are engineered for photoacoustic imaging (PA)‐guided sonodynamic tumor nanotherapy. Intriguingly, the engineered MT nanosonosensitizers can generate abundant singlet oxygen under ultrasound irradiation to eradicate tumor cells, thereby demonstrating its ability to achieve high tumor growth inhibition rates. In particular, MT nanosonosensitizers exhibit oxidative degradation properties that guarantee desirable biocompatibility and potentiate clinical translation.
