Circularly polarized organic light‐emitting diodes (CP‐OLEDs) are ideal candidates to explore novel applications such as 3D displays, optical storage, and quantum computing. However, the low dissymmetry (g) factor of most chiral organic materials remains as a major challenge for practical applications. In this work, a helical stacking assembly of orderly silicon nanowires (hs‐SiNWs) into a flexible multilayer 3D superstructure is demonstrated to accomplish a strong chiroptical activity. These orderly SiNWs are batch‐fabricated via a low temperature in‐plane solid–liquid–solid growth mechanism, with precisely‐controlled spatial arrangement and mean diameter and length of Dnw = 126 ± 24 nm and Lnw > 100 µm, respectively. To construct such helically‐stacked superstructure, the SiNW arrays are transferred and stacked upon transparent glass or flexible polymer substrates, with incremental rotational angle for each layer, which can strongly augment the circularly polarized electroluminescence (CPEL) from conventional CP‐OLEDs. Strikingly, the dissymmetry factor increases with more stacking layer up to g = ±0.17, which is more than 40 times of magnitude higher than that of the original CPEL, among the highest ones reported for CP‐OLEDs. These results indicate a promising helical‐stacking avenue to boost the chiroptical performance of various CP‐OLEDs for scalable and flexible chiroptical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The exploitation of novel fused carbazole/carbonyl emitters is essential to broaden the application of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials for organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). Here, with the aid of the addition and cyclization of the cyano group with the ortho‐carbazole, fused carbazole/carbonyl based TADF emitters are effectively synthesized via this new synthetic strategy. The attachment of ancillary donors including carbazole, diphenylamine, and phenolazine to the fused carbazole/carbonyl skeletons further tunes their emissions from blue to yellow‐green. Particularly, pure‐blue OLEDs incorporating the peripheral carbazole attached emitter exhibit a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQEmax) of 22.3%, with a small full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 48 nm. In addition, the peripheral phenolazine attached yellow‐green emitter shows extremely small singlet−triplet state energy gap (ΔEST) of 0.01 eV, high photoluminescence quantum efficiency of 82.5%, short delayed fluorescence lifetime of 6.2 µs and good OLED performances with an EQEmax of 21.7%, an FWHM of 68 nm and low efficiency roll‐off. These results demonstrate that the new synthetic strategy for fused carbazole/carbonyl molecules provide a valuable reference for the design of high‐efficient TADF emitters. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A novel ratiometric fluorescent assay was proposed for protamine and heparin based on blue‐emitting N,P‐doped carbon dots (N,P‐CDs) and green‐emitting Eosin Y. The N,P‐CDs were prepared using arginine as carbon and nitrogen sources according to hydrothermal method with favorable luminescence intensity, photostability, and good reproducibility. And the N,P‐CDs were used as internal reference fluorescence molecules. The anionic Eosin Y was used as fluorescence signal molecule. Protamine with positive group could interact with Eosin Y through electrostatic effect, leading to the fluorescence quenching of Eosin Y. Upon the addition of heparin, heparin was combined with protamine with stronger affinity through electrostatic interactions and hydrogen bonds, which preventing the bonding of protamine with Eosin Y and obvious fluorescence emissions of Eosin Y at 538 nm could be observed. Meanwhile, the fluorescence signal of N,P‐CDs at 420 nm remained stable during the whole process. A good linear range between the fluorescence emission intensity ratio of I538/I420 was obtained for protamine from 0.01 to 40 μg/mL with a low detection limit of 5.6 ng/mL, and heparin from 0 to 35 μg/mL with a low detection limit of 2.5 ng/mL. Moreover, the method was further applied to detection of heparin with satisfactory results in fetal bovine serum samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents cases of patients with treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) who were successfully treated with combined typical and atypical long-acting injectable antipsychotics (LAIA). In the case of a 35-year-old female patient, she was effectively treated with flupentixol decanoate and LAI aripiprazole. The other patient was successfully treated with flupentixol decanoate and paliperidone palmitate.
