Abstract

This article discusses findings of a study, which demonstrated the high prevalence of renal impairment in a population of patients with solid tumors. To estimate the prevalence of renal insufficiency (RI), renal function was calculated using Cockroft-Gault and abbreviated Modification of Diet in Renal Disease. For patients with RI, the dosage of chemotherapeutic agents will require dosage reduction to avoid severe toxicities.
