SUMMARY This paper describes two types of rotary loop flow controller, one is series type and the other is unified power flow controller (UPFC) type. Both of them can maintain the suitable voltage level of distribution system even with a large and uneven penetration of distributed generation. The configurations of proposed controllers are essentially same as wound rotor induction machine with no slip rings. The proposed controllers are less costly, more efficient, and more tolerant to overvoltages/currents as compared to power electronics-type controllers. Further, UPFC-type rotary loop flow controller has additional advantages like relatively smaller capability and ability to control reactive power than the series type of rotary loop flow controller. The leaves of Indian yew Taxus wallichiana, growing in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, on hydrodistillation, gave 0.025% oil on a fresh weight basis. GC and GC-MS analysis of the oil resulted in the identification of 62 constituents, representing 93.3% of the oil. The main constituents identified in the leaf oil were ( E)-2-octen-1-ol (14.5%), n-pentacosane (8.1%), caryophyllene oxide (7.1%), 1-octanol (6.5%), hexanoic acid (5.5%) and ( Z)-3-hexenol (4.1%). The investigation was undertaken to study the mechanism of the inhibitory effects of clonidine on the oestrogen-primed rat isolated uterus., Clonidine produced dose-dependent relaxations of the rat isolated uterus which were competitively blocked by yohimbine but not by prazosin., Metiamide, a specific H2-histamine receptor antagonist, inhibited clonidine-induced responses only at a high concentration (1.0 times 10-6M)., Propranolol, a β-adrenoreceptor antagonist produced competitive antagonism of the clonidine responses., Like clonidine, noradrenaline also produced dose dependent relaxations of the rat isolated uterus. The responses to noradrenaline were not antagonized by either prazosin or yohimbine but were competitively antagonized by propranolol. 7 It is concluded that clonidine inhibits the uterus via an action on α2-adrenoreceptors and possibly also to a lesser extent on H2-histamine receptors, leading ultimately to release of noradrenaline from endogenous stores which causes relaxation by acting on β-adrenoreceptors. The essential oil composition of Murraya exotica leaves and flowers from CIMAP Research Farm, Lucknow, were analysed by GC and GC-MS, which resulted in the identification of 56 and 72 constituents, representing 99.8% and 99.2% of the oils, respectively. The leaf oil showed ( E)-nerolidol (27.8%), α-zingiberene (10.0%), β-caryophyllene (9.7%), ( E, E) farnesol (8.9%) and δ-elemene (5.1%) as the major constituents, while the flower oil showed ( E, E, E)- α-springene (23.8%), ( E)-nerolidol (18.7%), ( E, E) α-farnesene (13.2%), methyl palmitate (6.8%) and germacrene B (5.9%) as the major constituents.
