The article presents two case studies which highlight the important factors regarding the reliability of internal positive control in immunohistochemistry of poorly differentiated carcinoma. It describes the case of a 66-year old with a malignant-feeling prostate and serum prostate-specific antigenman who underwent prostatic needle biopsies. Also, in a 73-year old man with urinary retention, a transurethral resection of the prostate was performed with a result of uncertain origin of tumor.
