The replacement of non‐aqueous organic electrolytes with solid‐state electrolytes (SSEs) in solid‐state lithium metal batteries (SLMBs) is considered a promising strategy to address the constraints of lithium‐ion batteries, especially in terms of energy density and reliability. Nevertheless, few SLMBs can deliver the required cycling performance and long‐term stability for practical use, primarily due to suboptimal interface properties. Given the diverse solidification pathways leading to different interface characteristics, it is crucial to pinpoint the source of interface deterioration and develop appropriate remedies. This review focuses on Li|SSE interface issues between lithium metal anode and SSE, discussing recent advancements in the understanding of (electro)chemistry, the impact of defects, and interface evolutions that vary among different SSE species. The state‐of‐the‐art strategies concerning modified SEI, artificial interlayer, surface architecture, and composite structure are summarized and delved into the internal relationships between interface characteristics and performance enhancements. The current challenges and opportunities in characterizing and modifying the Li|SSE interface are suggested as potential directions for achieving practical SLMBs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Polysulfides shuttle and lithium dendrites growth greatly restricts the practical application of lithium–sulfur batteries (LSBs). A rational designed separator combined polysulfide catalyst and lithium regulator can achieve the effect of killing two birds with one stone. Herein, organic–inorganic hybrid materials are designed to construct a complementary interface for LSBs. Specially, two kinds of covalent organic frameworks (COF) with different pore size are in situ grown on the MXene surface by forming Ti–N bond. The high electronic conductivity and abundant surface functional groups of MXene allow it to work as a catalyst to effectively accelerate the polysulfides conversion, while COF can be used as an ion calibrator to guide homogeneous lithium deposition. As expected, the MXene@COF (MCOF) integrated separator realizes complementary advantages that enable a Li||Li symmetric cell to achieve a surprisingly stable lithium plating/stripping process up to 4750 h at 10 mA cm−2. Furthermore, the assembled LSBs exhibit high capacities of 584/563 mAh g−1 at 3 C and low‐capacity decay rates of 0.042%/0.048% per cycle after 1000 cycles at 1 C. This work proposes a strategy of complementary advantages based on the MXene and COF composites in the interface layer, which is of great significance for the separator construction of high‐performance LSBs. With the continuous development of electrochemical energy storage technology, especially in the current pursuit of environmental sustainability and safety, aqueous energy storage devices, due to their high safety, environmental friendliness, and cost‐effectiveness, are becoming an important direction of development in the field of energy storage. Diverse application scenarios require that energy storage systems be capable of continuous power supply under low temperature conditions. However, conventional aqueous electrolytes freeze at extremely low temperatures, causing limited ion transport and slow reaction kinetics, degrading the performance of the energy storage system. The design of low‐temperature anti‐freeze aqueous electrolytes has become an effective way to address this issue. In this review, the deep connection between hydrogen bonds (HBs) interactions in aqueous electrolytes and the liquid‐to‐solid conversion process, and the fundamental principles of the anti‐freeze mechanism is first explored. Subsequently, a systematic categorization and discussion of the design strategies for low‐temperature anti‐freeze aqueous electrolytes are conducted. Finally, potential directions are proposed. This review aims to provide comprehensive scientific guidance and technical reference for the development of anti‐freeze aqueous electrolytes with excellent low‐temperature performance, thereby promoting the application and innovation of aqueous energy storage devices in low‐temperature environments. Sodium metal batteries are promising next‐generation energy storage technology by using energy‐dense and affordable Na metal anodes, yet suffering uncontrollable Na dendritic growth issues. Herein, Au nanoparticle@hollow amorphous carbon tube yolk/shell arrays (Au/HCT‐CC) is rationally designed on carbon cloth as a dynamic host. In situ transmission electron microscopy observations reveal a regulated dendrite‐free Na metal plating/stripping within the Au/HCT‐CC host. The self‐confinement of Na metal deposition in the hollow carbon can further stabilize the electrolyte/electrode interface and homogenize Na ion flux, as evidenced by rigorous experimental and theoretical characterizations, thus successfully accommodating the hurdles to Na metal anodes. When cycling in half cells, the Au/HCT‐CC electrodes deliver remarkably high coulombic efficiencies (CEs) of 99.96% over 2200 h at 5 mA cm−2. The high CE of 99.54% is preserved even under harsh cycling conditions of 10 mA cm−2 and 20 mAh cm−2 for 250 cycles. These values rival the state‐of‐the‐art electrochemical performance for Na metal anodes in literature. Finally, the practical feasibility of the new anode is demonstrated by cycling in Na3V2(PO4)3@C||Na‐Au/HCT‐CC full cells over 900 cycles with an extremely low capacity degradation rate of 0.017% per cycle.
