The non-uniform distribution of colloidal particles in perovskite precursor results in an imbalanced response to the shear force during flexible printing process. Herein, it is observed that the continuous disordered migration occurring in perovskite inks significantly contributes to the enlargement of colloidal particles size and diminishes the crystallization activity of the inks. Therefore, a molecular encapsulation architecture by glycerol monostearate to mitigate colloidal particles collisions in the precursor ink, while simultaneously homogenizing the size distribution of perovskite colloids to minimize their diffusion disparities, is devised. The utilization of colloidal particles with a molecular encapsulation structure enables the achievement of uniform deposition during the printing process, thereby effectively balancing the crystallization rate and phase transition in the film and facilitating homogeneous crystallization of perovskite films. The large-area flexible perovskite device (1.01 cm 2 and 100 cm 2 ) fabricated through printing processes, achieves an efficiency of 24.45% and 15.87%, respectively, and manifests superior environmental stability, maintaining an initial efficiency of 91% after being stored in atmospheric ambiences for 150 days (unencapsulated). Despite the rapid development in the performances of organic solar cells (OSCs), high-performance OSC modules based on green printing are still limited. The severe Coffee-ring effect (CRE) is considered to be the primary reason for the nonuniform distribution of active layer films. To solve this key printing problem, the cosolvent strategy is presented to deposit the active layer films. The guest solvent Mesitylene with a higher boiling point and a lower surface tension is incorporated into the host solvent o-XY to optimize the rheological properties, such as surface tension and viscosity of the active layer solutions. And the synergistic effect of inward Marangoni flow generation and solution thickening caused by the cosolvent strategy can effectively restrain CRE, resulting in highly homogeneous large-area active layer films. In addition, the optimized crystallization and phase separation of active layer films effectively accelerate the charge transport and exciton dissociation of devices. Consequently, based on PM6:BTP-eC9 system, the device prepared with the co-solvent strategy shows the a power conversion efficiency of 17.80%. Moreover, as the effective area scales to 1 and 16.94 cm 2 , the recorded performances are altered to 16.71% and 14.58%. Targeting the trap-assisted non-radiative recombination losses and photochemical degradation occurring at the interface and bulk of perovskite, especially the overlooked buried bottom interface, a strategy of tailored-phase two-dimensional (TP-2D) crystal seed layer has been developed to improve the charge transport dynamics at the buried interface and bulk of perovskite films. Using this approach, TP-2D layer constructed by TP-2D crystal seeds at the buried interface can induce the formation of homogeneous interface electric field, which effectively suppress the accumulation of charge carriers at the buried interface. Additionally, the presence of TP-2D crystal seed has a positive effect on the crystallization process of the upper perovskite film, leading to optimized crystal quality and thus promoted charge transport inside bulk perovskites. Ultimately, the best performing PSCs based on TP-2D layer deliver a power conversion efficiency of 24.58 %. The devices exhibit an improved photostability with 88.4 % of their initial PCEs being retained after aging under continuous 0.8-sun illumination for 2000 h in air. With excellent homogeneity, compactness and controllable thickness, atomic layer deposition (ALD) technology is widely used in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). However, residual organic sources and undesired reactions pose serious challenges to device performance as well as stability. Here, ester groups of poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) are introduced as a reaction medium to promote the nucleation and complete conversion of tetrakis(dimethylamino)tin(IV) (TDMA-Sn). Through simulations and experiments, it is verified that ester groups as Lewis bases can coordinate with TDMA-Sn to facilitate homogeneous deposition of ALD-SnO x , which acts as self-encapsulated interface with blocking properties against external moisture as well as internal ion migration. Meanwhile, a comprehensive evaluation of the self-encapsulated interface reveals that the energy level alignment is optimized to improve the carrier transport. Finally, the self-encapsulated device obtains a champion photovoltaic conversion efficiency (PCE) of 22.06% and retains 85% of the initial PCE after being stored at 85 °C with relative humidity of 85% for more than 800 h., (© 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

Dual-interface modulation including buried interface as well as the top surface has recently been proven to be crucial for obtaining high photovoltaic performance in lead halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, for the first time, the strategy of using functional covalent organic frameworks (COFs), namely HS-COFs for dual-interface modulation, is reported to further understand its intrinsic mechanisms in optimizing the bottom and top surfaces. Specifically, the buried HS-COFs layer can enhance the resistance against ultraviolet radiation, and more importantly, release the tensile strain, which is beneficial for enhancing device stability and improving the order of perovskite crystal growth. Furthermore, the detailed characterization results reveal that the HS-COFs on the top surface can effectively passivate the surface defects and suppress non-radiation recombination, as well as optimize the crystallization and growth of the perovskite film. Benefiting from the synergistic effects, the dual-interface modified devices deliver champion efficiencies of 24.26% and 21.30% for 0.0725 cm 2 and 1 cm 2 -sized devices, respectively. The multiple quantum wells (QWs) distribution in low-dimensional perovskite films hinders charge transport due to the fundamental difficulty of controlling crystal growth from precursor solutions, yielding poorly homogeneous low-dimensional perovskite solar cells (PSCs), especially in upscaling fabrication. Here, efficient low-dimensional PSCs are realized by modulating the colloidal assembly behavior in the precursor solution to induce intermediate structures. In combination with in situ liquid time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry, the assembly behavior of organic cations involved lead iodide-dominated colloidal soft framework is visualized by investigating the precursor species differences under hydrogen bonding interactions. Subsequently, solid-state reactions emerge and the formamidine (FA)-based perovskite films exhibit significantly suppressed multiple QWs distribution. The aging of precursor solutions is the major stumbling block for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, for the first time we used the state-of-the-art in situ liquid time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry to molecularly explore the perovskite precursor solution chemistry. We identified that the methylammonium and formamidinium cations and the I - anion are the motivators of the aging chemistry. Further, we introduced two kinds of Lewis bases, triethyl phosphate (TP) and ethyl ethanesulfonate (EE), as new additives in the solution and unraveled that both of them can protect the reactive cations from aging through weak interactions. Significantly, TP is superior to EE in enhancing long-term solution stability as it can well-maintain the internal interaction structures within the solution phase. The inhomogeneity, poor interfacial contact, and pinholes caused by the coffee-ring effect severely affect the printing reliability of flexible perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, inspired by the bio-glue of barnacles, a bionic interface layer (Bio-IL) of NiO x /levodopa is introduced to suppress the coffee-ring effect during printing perovskite modules. The coordination effect of the sticky functional groups in Bio-IL can pin the three-phase contact line and restrain the transport of perovskite colloidal particles during the printing and evaporation process. Moreover, the sedimentation rate of perovskite precursor is accelerated due to the electrostatic attraction and rapid volatilization from an extraordinary wettability. The superhydrophilic Bio-IL affords an even spread over a large-area substrate, which boosts a complete and uniform liquid film for heterogeneous nucleation as well as crystallization. Perovskite films on different large-area substrates with negligible coffee-ring effect are printed. Consequently, inverted flexible PSCs and perovskite solar modules achieve a high efficiency of 21.08% and 16.87%, respectively. The existing conformation of the active layer is defective for employment of semitransparent organic solar cells (ST-OSCs) in solar windows. Herein, scalable solar windows are successfully printed by introducing a pseudo-planar heterojunction (PPHJ) structure. The PPHJ structure can effectively improve the average visible transmittance (AVT) value while boosting the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of semitransparent devices due to the reduced optical loss. The universality of the PPHJ structure in the preparation of ST-OSCs is proved. Furthermore, an inset of a superhydrophobic patterned soft insertion layer (PSIL) in the encapsulated window improves the waterproof performance without losing transparency. Accordingly, the semitransparent devices based on the 2,2'-((2Z,2'Z)-((12,13-bis(2-ethylhexyl)-3,9-diundecyl-12,13-dihydro-[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-e]thieno[2″,3″:4',5']thieno[2',3':4,5]pyrrolo[3,2-g]thieno[2',3':4,5]thieno[3,2-b]indole-2,10-diyl)bis(methanylylidene))bis(5,6-difluoro-3-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene-2,1-diylidene))dimalononitrile (Y6) system afford a maximal efficiency of 14.62%, with a considerable AVT of 20.42%, and the resultant solar windows achieve a stabilized efficiency of 13.34% with excellent waterproof performance. Highly efficient and stable quasi-2D hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using hydrophobic 4-(trifluoromethyl) benzylamine (4TFBZA) as the spacer cation are successfully demonstrated. It is found that the incorporation of hydrophobic 4TFBZA into MAPbI 3 can effectively induce a spontaneous upper gradient 2D (SUG-2D) structure, passivate the trap states, and restrain the ion motion. Meanwhile, the strong hydrogen bonding of F···HN between 4TFBZA ions and methylamine ions can effectively suppress the decomposition of perovskite, which gives the device a better thermal stability. Besides, due to the SUG-2D structure with hydrophobic 4TFBZA, the device also exhibits a better moisture stability. The SUG-2D-structure-based device exhibits a power conversion efficiency of 17.07% with a high open-circuit voltage of 1.10 V and a notable fill factor of 71%. Tin-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) demonstrate a potential application in wearable electronics due to its hypotoxicity. However, poor crystal quality is still the bottleneck for achieving high-performance flexible devices. In this work, graphite phase-C 3 N 4 (g-C 3 N 4 ) is applied into tin-based perovskite as a crystalline template, which delays crystallization via a size-effect and passivates defects simultaneously. The double hydrogen bond between g-C 3 N 4 and formamidine cation can optimize lattice matching and passivation. Moreover, the two-dimensional network structure of g-C 3 N 4 can fit on the crystals, resulting an enhanced hydrophobicity and oxidation resistance. Therefore, the flexible tin-based PSCs with g-C 3 N 4 realize a stabilized power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 8.56 % with negligible hysteresis. In addition, the PSCs can maintain 91 % of the initial PCE after 1000 h under N 2 environment and keep 92 % of their original PCE after 600 cycles at a curvature radius of 3 mm., (© 2021 Wiley-VCH GmbH.)

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are a promising photovoltaic technology for stretchable applications because of their flexible, light-weight, and low-cost characteristics. However, the fragility of crystals and poor crystallinity of perovskite on stretchable substrates results in performance loss. In fact, grain boundary defects are the "Achilles' heel" of optoelectronic and mechanical stability. We incorporate a self-healing polyurethane (s-PU) with dynamic oxime-carbamate bonds as a scaffold into the perovskite films, which simultaneously enhances crystallinity and passivates the grain boundary of the perovskite films. The stretchable PSCs with s-PU deliver a stabilized efficiency of 19.15 % with negligible hysteresis, which is comparable to the performance on rigid substrates. The PSCs can maintain over 90 % of their initial efficiency after 3000 hours in air because of their self-encapsulating structure. Importantly, the self-healing function of the s-PU scaffold was verified in situ. The s-PU can release mechanical stress and repair cracks at the grain boundary on multiple levels. The devices recover 88 % of their original efficiency after 1000 cycles at 20 % stretch. A key issue of micro/nano devices is how to integrate micro/nanostructures with specified chemical components onto various curved surfaces. Hydrodynamic printing of micro/nanostructures on three-dimensional curved surfaces is achieved with a strategy that combines template-induced hydrodynamic printing and self-assembly of nanoparticles (NPs). Non-lithography flexible wall-shaped templates are replicated with microscale features by dicing a trench-shaped silicon wafer. Arising from the capillary pumped function between the template and curved substrates, NPs in the colloidal suspension self-assemble into close-packed micro/nanostructures without a gravity effect. Theoretical analysis with the lattice Boltzmann model reveals the fundamental principles of the hydrodynamic assembly process. Spiral linear structures achieved by two kinds of fluorescent NPs show non-interfering photoluminescence properties, while the waveguide and photoluminescence are confirmed in 3D curved space. Integration of photovoltaic materials directly into 3D light-matter resonance architectures can extend their functionality beyond traditional optoelectronics. Semiconductor structures at subwavelength scale naturally possess optical resonances, which provides the possibility to manipulate light-matter interactions. In this work, a structure and function integrated printing method to remodel 2D film to 3D self-standing facade between predesigned gold electrodes, realizing the advancement of structure and function from 2D to 3D, is demonstrated. Due to the enlarged cross section in the 3D asymmetric rectangular structure, the facade photodetectors possess sensitive light-matter interaction. The single 3D facade photodetectors can measure the incident angle of light in 3D space with a 10° angular resolution. The resonance interaction of the incident light at different illumination angles and the 3D subwavelength photosensitive facade is analyzed by the simulated light flow in the facade. The 3D facade structure enhances the manipulation of the light-matter interaction and extends metasurface nanophotonics to a wider range of materials. The monitoring of dynamic variation is achieved in a single facade photodetector. Together with the flexibility of structure and function integrated printing strategy, three and four branched photodetectors extend the angle detection to omnidirectional ranges, which will be significant for the development of 3D angle-sensing devices., (© 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Inorganic perovskite single crystals have emerged as promising vapor-phase processable structures for optoelectronic devices. However, because of material lattice mismatch and uncontrolled nucleation, vapor-phase methods have been restricted to random distribution of single crystals that are difficult to perform for integrated device arrays. Herein, an effective strategy to control the vapor-phase growth of high-quality cesium lead bromide perovskite (CsPbBr 3 ) microplate arrays with uniform morphology as well as controlled location and size is reported. By introducing perovskite seeds on substrates, intractable lattice mismatches and random nucleation barriers are surpassed, and the epitaxial growth of perovskite crystals is accurately controlled. It is further demonstrated that CsPbBr 3 microplate arrays can be monolithically integrated on substrates for the fabrication of high-performance lasers and photodetectors. The blossoming of organic solar cells (OSCs) has triggered enormous commercial applications, due to their high-efficiency, light weight, and flexibility. However, the lab-to-manufacturing translation of the praisable performance from lab-scale devices to industrial-scale modules is still the Achilles' heel of OSCs. In fact, it is urgent to explore the mechanism of morphological evolution in the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) with different coating/printing methods. Here, a general approach to upscale flexible organic photovoltaics to module scale without obvious efficiency loss is demonstrated. The shear impulse during the coating/printing process is first applied to control the morphology evolution of the BHJ layer for both fullerene and nonfullerene acceptor systems. A quantitative transformation factor of shear impulse between slot-die printing and spin-coating is detected. Compelling results of morphological evolution, molecular stacking, and coarse-grained molecular simulation verify the validity of the impulse translation. Accordingly, the efficiency of flexible devices via slot-die printing achieves 9.10% for PTB7-Th:PC 71 BM and 9.77% for PBDB-T:ITIC based on 1.04 cm 2 . Furthermore, 15 cm 2 flexible modules with effective efficiency up to 7.58% (PTB7-Th:PC 71 BM) and 8.90% (PBDB-T:ITIC) are demonstrated with satisfying mechanical flexibility and operating stability. Low-dimensional Ruddlesden-Popper (LDRP) perovskites are a current theme in solar energy research as researchers attempt to fabricate stable photovoltaic devices from them. However, poor exciton dissociation and insufficiently fast charge transfer slows the charge extraction in these devices, resulting in inferior performance. 1,4-Butanediamine (BEA)-based low-dimensional perovskites are designed to improve the carrier extraction efficiency in such devices. Structural characterization using single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that these layered perovskites are formed by the alternating ordering of diammonium (BEA 2+ ) and monoammonium (MA + ) cations in the interlayer space (B-ACI) with the formula (BEA) 0.5 MA n PbnI 3n+1 . Compared to the typical LDRP counterparts, these B-ACI perovskites deliver a wider light absorption window and lower exciton binding energies with a more stable layered perovskite structure. Additionally, ultrafast transient absorption indicates that B-ACI perovskites exhibit a narrow distribution of quantum well widths, leading to a barrier-free and balanced carrier transport pathway with enhanced carrier diffusion (electron and hole) length over 350 nm. A perovskite solar cell incorporating BEA ligands achieves record efficiencies of 14.86% for (BEA) 0.5 MA 3 Pb 3 I 10 and 17.39% for (BEA) 0.5 Cs 0.15 (FA 0.83 MA 0.17 ) 2.85 Pb 3 (I 0.83 Br 0.17 ) 10 without hysteresis. Furthermore, the triple cations B-ACI devices can retain over 90% of their initial power conversion efficiency when stored under ambient atmospheric conditions for 2400 h and show no significant degradation under constant illumination for over 500 h., (© 2019 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Three-dimensional (3D) metal-halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have demonstrated exceptional high efficiency. However, instability of the 3D perovskite is the main challenge for industrialization. Incorporation of some long organic cations into perovskite crystal to terminate the lattice, and function as moisture and oxygen passivation layer and ion migration blocking layer, is proven to be an effective method to enhance the perovskite stability. Unfortunately, this method typically sacrifices charge-carrier extraction efficiency of the perovskites. Even in 2D-3D vertically aligned heterostructures, a spread of bandgaps in the 2D due to varying degrees of quantum confinement also results in charge-carrier localization and carrier mobility reduction. A trade-off between the power conversion efficiency and stability is made. Here, by introducing 2D C 6 H 18 N 2 O 2 PbI 4 (EDBEPbI 4 ) microcrystals into the precursor solution, the grain boundaries of the deposited 3D perovskite film are vertically passivated with phase pure 2D perovskite. The phases pure (inorganic layer number n = 1) 2D perovskite can minimize photogenerated charge-carrier localization in the low-dimensional perovskite. The dominant vertical alignment does not affect charge-carrier extraction. Engineering the fluid interface such as the gas-liquid interface is of great significance for solvent processing applications including functional material assembly, inkjet printing, and high-performance device fabrication. However, precisely controlling the fluid interface remains a great challenge owing to its flexibility and fluidity. Here, a general method to manipulate the fluid interface for fluid patterning using micropillars in the microchannel is reported. The principle of fluid patterning for immiscible fluid pairs including air, water, and oils is proposed. This understanding enables the preparation of programmable multiphase fluid patterns and assembly of multilayer functional materials to fabricate micro-optoelectronic devices. This general strategy of fluid patterning provides a promising platform to study the fundamental processes occurring on the fluid interface, and benefits applications in many subjects, such as microfluidics, microbiology, chemical analysis and detection, material synthesis and assembly, device fabrication, etc., (© 2018 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Mechanically driven light generation is an exciting and under-exploited phenomenon with a variety of possible practical applications. However, the current driving mode of mechanoluminescence (ML) devices needs strong stimuli. Here, a flexible sensitive ML device via nanodopant elasticity modulus modification is introduced. Rigid ZnS:M 2+ (Mn/Cu)@Al 2 O 3 microparticles are dispersed into soft poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) film and printed out to form flexible devices. For various flexible and sensitive scenes, SiO 2 nanoparticles are adopted to adjust the elasticity modulus of the PDMS matrix. The doped nanoparticles can concentrate stress to ZnS:M 2+ (Mn/Cu)@Al 2 O 3 microparticles and achieve intense ML under weak stimuli of the moving skin. The printed nano-/microparticle-doped matrix film can achieve skin-driven ML, which can be adopted to present fetching augmented animations expressions. The precise integration of microscale dots and lines with controllable interfacing connections is highly important for the fabrication of functional devices. To date, the solution-processible methods are used to fabricate the heterogeneous micropatterns for different materials. However, for increasingly miniaturized and multifunctional devices, it is extremely challenging to engineer the uncertain kinetics of a solution on the microstructures surfaces, resulting in uncontrollable interface connections and poor device performance. Here, a sequential template-directed printing process is demonstrated for the fabrication of arrayed microdots connected by microwires through the regulation of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability of material solution or suspension. Flexibility in the control of fluidic behaviors can realize precise interface connection between the micropatterns, including the microwires traversing, overlapping or connecting the microdots. Moreover, various morphologies such as circular, rhombic, or star-shaped microdots as well as straight, broken or curved microwires can be achieved. The lateral heterostructure printed with two different quantum dots displays bright dichromatic photoluminescence. The ammonia gas sensor printed by polyaniline and silver nanoparticles exhibits a rapid response time. 3D printing or fabrication pursues the essential surface behavior manipulation of droplets or a liquid for rapidly and precisely constructing 3D multimaterial architectures. Further development of 3D fabrication desires a self-shaping strategy that can heterogeneously integrate functional materials with disparate electrical or optical properties. Here, a 3D liquid self-shaping strategy is reported for rapidly patterning materials over a series of compositions and accurately achieving micro- and nanoscale structures. The predesigned template selectively pins the droplet, and the surface energy minimization drives the self-shaping processing. The as-prepared 3D circuits assembled by silver nanoparticles carry a current of 208-448 µA at 0.01 V impressed voltage, while the 3D architectures achieved by two different quantum dots show noninterfering optical properties with feature resolution below 3 µm. Dramatic advances in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and the blossoming of wearable electronics have triggered tremendous demands for flexible solar-power sources. However, the fracturing of functional crystalline films and transmittance wastage from flexible substrates are critical challenges to approaching the high-performance PSCs with flexural endurance. In this work, a nanocellular scaffold is introduced to architect a mechanics buffer layer and optics resonant cavity. The nanocellular scaffold releases mechanical stresses during flexural experiences and significantly improves the crystalline quality of the perovskite films. The nanocellular optics resonant cavity optimizes light harvesting and charge transportation of devices. More importantly, these flexible PSCs, which demonstrate excellent performance and mechanical stability, are practically fabricated in modules as a wearable solar-power source. A power conversion efficiency of 12.32% for a flexible large-scale device (polyethylene terephthalate substrate, indium tin oxide-free, 1.01 cm 2 ) is achieved.
