At present, there is relatively little research on the synergistic effects of heavy metals in soil, sediment, and bedrock on heavy metal pollution in water bodies. In this paper, heavy metals in soil, sediment, bedrock, and water of a typical karst watershed in southwest China were investigated. The results indicated that the average values of heavy metals in soil and sediment were relatively higher than those in bedrock except for Ni and As. During the research period, As and Cd were the main heavy metal elements polluting the soil and sediment in the study area, while water bodies were mainly polluted by Ni, As, and Cd. The pollution assessment indicated that there were instances of poor or very poor water quality in the study area during the study period; the soil as a whole was slightly polluted by Cd and As; sediment was subject to moderate Cd pollution and mild As pollution. Analysis of geochemical form for heavy metals showed that heavy metals in soil and sediment were mainly in residual form, and the proportions of exchangeable As and Cd were relatively high. Multiple statistical analysis showed that heavy metals in sediment, soil, and bedrock explained 23.8%, 16. 8%, and 16. 2% of the changes in heavy metals of water, respectively. The research results Can provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution in water bodies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study was conducted to provide reference for plant landscaping, optimization of planting structure and rational allocation of species in Cedrus deodcua gardens. [Methods] With three common garden plants in northern China, Trifolium repens L, Poa pralensis L and Trifolium pralense L, as receptors, the effects of four concentrations ( 0.025, 0. 05, 0.075 and 0.10 g/ml) of C. deodara needle extract on seed germination and early seedling growth of the three turf grasses were studied by the Petri dish filter paper method, using a clear water treatment ( 0 g/ml) as control check (CK). Data were subjected to analysis of variance ( ANOVA) and multiple comparisons (Duncan) using SPSS16. 0. [Results] Different concentrations of C. deodcua needle extract had significant inhibitory effects on seed germination, radicle and seedling height growth of T. repens, T. pratense and P. pratensis ( P < 0.05 ), and the inhibitory effects increased with the increase of concentration. When the concentration reached 0. 075 g/ ml, seed germination and seedling growth of T. repens stopped, and radicle and seedling growth of T. pratense and P. pralensis also stopped. When the concentration was equal to 0.10 g/ ml, germination of T. pralense and P. pralensis seeds was inhibited, and the absolute values of allelopathic index was the largest, that is, the inhibitory effects were the largest. And with the increase of concentration, the absolute value of synthetical allelopathic index also increased. The extract of C. deodcua needles contained main allelochemicals leading to the scarcity of understory vegetation. [Conclusions] This study provides a theoretical basis for reasonable garden plant configuration during C. deodara greening and garden landscaping. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the gradual intensification of aging in China, the issue of elderly care has become the primary issue that needs to be urgently solved in society. The construction of a reasonable and scientific integrated medical and care service system can not only efficiently allocate medical resources and services, but also better meet the needs of the elderly. Due to the involvement of multiple disciplines such as architecture, sociology, psychology, and behavioral science in the construction of the system, as well as the restriction of various objective factors such as medical capacity, spatial scale, and operating costs, the government and elderly care institutions have always been unable to find the best solution for how to scientifically and reasonably construct an integrated medical and care service system. This paper is based on Anshan City, Liaoning Province, which has prominent aging issues and distinct characteristics of the elderly population. Through extensive field research in elderly care institutions, and face-to-face communication with personnel from relevant government departments such as the Municipal Commission on Aging, the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Health Commission, the Medical Insurance Bureau, and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, it truly understands the problems that arise in the construction of the urban integrated medical and care service system. From three aspects: urban situation, institutional situation and the needs of the elderly, it is proposed to establish a clear departmental linkage mechanism with clear rights and responsibilities, a policy guarantee mechanism tailored to local conditions, a multi-measure operation mechanism, a technology first intelligent response mechanism, a warm and efficient service mechanism for the people, an overall layout mechanism, an evaluation and supervision mechanism for full process control, and a talent supply mechanism of external introduction and internal training. It aims to provide reference for the construction of an integrated medical and care service system in similar cities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The external treatment of Zhuang medicine is a treatment method commonly used from outside the human body. The advantages of external treatment methods are easy operation and small side effects. People are more familiar with medicated thread moxibustion, meridian tendon massage, and acupuncture therapy of Zhuang medicine. Although the curative effect of external treatment is significant, it is little known due to insufficient publicity and other factors. The purpose of this project was to comprehensively analyze and organize the latest relevant scientific and technological literature graphs in the study on clinical external treatment of Zhuang medicine using CiteSpace software and adopting the research method of visual literature graph search. Current research status and research development process of the external treatment of Zhuang medicine in Chinese literature were summarized, which has been able to present the current trends and future research prospects of the development and research of external treatment of Zhuang medicine in China in detail and comprehensively. Finally, 307 papers were selected and included. Wei Yingcai and Pang Yuzhou were the authors with the largest number of documents and had formed a stable core research team. The analysis showed that Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine published the largest number of research documents, and there was less cooperation between institutions. At present, the research on the external treatment methods of Zhuang medicine is still in the development stage, which provides ideas and reference for quickly mastering the research hotspot of the external treatment method. Under the vision of development for the new era, China has entered a stage of high-quality economic development and an important window period in which we have the conditions and ability to address the prominent issue of economic development and ecological protection in a coordinated way. However, all kinds of environmental benchmark values in China are lacking and need to be constantly supplemented and improved. Therefore, exploring and putting forward a simple and efficient method for the transformation of environmental criteria into environmental standards is an important basis for the rapid establishment of relevant environmental criteria system and the effective promotion of the development of environmental standards system towards a scientific and reasonable direction. In this paper, the water environment is taken as the research object. By analyzing the research progress of environmental criteria and standards at home and abroad, and the foreign method of transforming environmental criteria into environmental standards, combined with the problems faced in the process of transforming environmental criteria into environmental standards in China, an effective method to transform China's environmental criteria into environmental standards is analyzed. After analysis and comparison, it is found that the pollution reduction accounting method could achieve their simple and efficient conversion. Under the premise of obtaining environmental criteria for certain pollutants, environmental criteria for certain pollutants could be obtained by distributing pollutants reduction costs, and accounting economic benefits after reaching standard, thus obtaining the environmental standard of this type of pollutant, which provides reference to determine the environmental standard limits of such pollutants. In recent years, the winter temperature in southern China decreases year by year, and the phenomenon of freeze-thaw damage is also widespread in hydraulic buildings. In this paper, the freezing-thawing cycle tests of fully graded concrete specimens and corresponding wet sieving suitable for climate conditions in southern China were carried out, and the effects of freezing-thaw cycles on the appearance, mass loss, relative dynamic elastic modulus, internal temperature and strain of fully graded concrete and wet sieving concrete were studied. The splitting tensile strength test of concrete specimens with specified salt freezing cycles was carried out, and the relationship between the strength reduction of fully graded concrete and wet sieving concrete specimens and the number of freeze-thaw cycles was analyzed. The results show that with the increase of freeze-thaw cycles, the properties of fully graded concrete and wet sieving concrete degraded, and the degradation of compressive strength was the most significant, followed by the splitting tensile strength. In the initial stage of the freeze-thaw cycles, the degradation of each property was not obvious, and the deterioration rate of each property increased significantly after 100 freeze-thaw cycles. Besides, the relationship between the splitting tensile strength of fully graded concrete and wet sieving concrete and the internal wave velocity after freeze-thaw cycles was established. The test results can provide theoretical basis for the design, repair, maintenance and life prediction of dams and offshore platforms in southern China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LIGHTNING protection , *LIGHTNING , *TOLLS , *EXPRESS highways - Abstract
Expressway toll station is listed by lightning protection experts as one of the five difficult problems in the field of international lightning protection. So far, the direct lightning protection of the expressway toll station is mainly based on the electrical geometry model-rolling ball method. Lightning rod or lightning belt is installed on the high pole lamp of the toll square and the ceiling of the toll island as a flash catching device to intercept lightning. The lightning rod is a section of metal conductor with the tip. From the process of the connection between up leader generated by the lightning rod and down leader of lightning, the lightning rod has the ability to attract the lightning rod, and can prevent lightning strike of the protected objects within a certain range. From the perspective of lightning protection methods and means, lightning protection plays an interception role against lightning discharge, also called interceptor. A large number of practice has proved that the lightning rod plays an important role in protecting the building structure from lightning damage. With the development of electronic information society, the limitations of lightning rod are more and more prominent, resulting in more and more lightning strike accidents. In 2019, China invented a new flash connection device-lightning interceptor that can overcome the limitations of lightning rod and has applied it on expressways, which has achieved remarkable results. In this paper, the physical parameters of lightning receiving process by the lightning interceptor and the lightning rod are compared, and the solution to prevent direct lightning strike at expressway toll station is proposed. CARBON offsetting , *EMISSIONS (Air pollution) , *CARBON dioxide sinks , *CARBON emissions , *CARBON cycle , *AGRICULTURAL technology - Abstract
China is striving to achieve "carbon dioxide peaking" in 2030 and "carbon neutrality" in 2060. In addition to optimizing and upgrading the industrial structure and increasing industrial emission reduction, afforestation is an important way to increase forest carbon sinks and achieve carbon dioxide peaking and carbon neutrality. Improved seedlings are significantly better than general seedlings in terms of afforestation adaptability, growth and stress resistance. The use of improved varieties for afforestation can improve the quality of afforestation from the source. Although the growth cycle of economical tree species is short, and the carbon storage does not increase after directional cultivation, they significantly improve the quality and yield, and indirectly reduce carbon emissions compared with ordinary seedlings. Therefore, in agricultural and forestry production, the transformation and utilization efficiency of improved varieties should be improved and the planting structure should be optimized to improve the quality and efficiency and significantly improve the yield and carbon storage, and the management of plantations should be strengthened to help achieve the goal of "carbon neutrality" as soon as possible. This paper analyzed the current situation of improved varieties and plantation management in China, and put forward corresponding countermeasures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Embryo cryopreservation is an important part of embryo biotechnology. It plays a key role in the development of quality animal husbandry. However, the effect of in-vivo (in-vitro) embryo freezing of cattle and sheep in China has not reached an expected level, which limits the commercial application of embryo transfer technology. The technical bottleneck that needs to be broken through is that embryos are subject to mechanical damage and protective agent toxicity during freezing and thawing. This paper summarized the successful application of plant antifreeze protein in vitrification preservation of pig embryos, which makes this technology widely used in animal husbandry production, and is of great significance in accelerating the large-scale breeding of improved livestock and saving endangered animals.
