Abstract

Department of Chemistry, Patna University, Patna-800 005 Manuscript received 2 May 1978, accepted 22 February 1979 Some isochroman-1,4-diones have been prepared using appropriate diazoethyl ketones. They have been reduced by sodium borohydride to the related 4-hydroxy-3- methy1-3,4-dihydroisocoumarins.
