The study aimed to monitor the prevalence of ectoparasites and bacterial infestations in carp and to determine effective dosages of a new iodine-based treatment for disease prevention. The research found that carp were affected by ectoparasites G. kobayashii at 43.32%, L. cyprinacea at 46.67%, and P. lusiana at 31.71% in fish farming facilities within the Sumy Region. Treatment with the iodine-based product resulted in a reduction of infestation levels to 0.2%, including a decrease in the incidence of gyrodactylosis by 89.92-97.35%, lernaeosis by 79.13-95.91%, and philometroidosis by 81.30-91.16% compared to monitoring results. In investigations of bacterial infestations, it was found that the contamination of carp was higher for E. coli at the PC “Shmatukha” by 8.0%, Aeromonas hydrophila by 47.97%, and Aeromonas salmonicida by 31.39%. Additionally, Pseudomonas anguilliseptica was detected at 19.48%, Streptococcus iniae at 13.27%, and Micrococcus spp. at 38.14% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. The presence of Staphylococcus aureus was recorded at 21.37%, and Listeria monocytogenes at 11.43% at LLC “Bdzhola”; these figures were lower than those observed in other farms. Following treatment with the iodine-based agent, contamination of fish by E. coli decreased by 98.96% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 99.2% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 84.32% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. Contamination of carp by A. hydrophila decreased by 94.51% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 80.28% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 99.15% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. The presence of A. salmonicida was reduced by 97.23% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 94.00% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 79.06% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. Contamination by S. aureus decreased by 92.15% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 98.74% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 93.89% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. The levels of S. iniae decreased by 80.90% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 99.63% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 83.30% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. Contamination by L. monocytogenes was reduced by 96.25% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 96.08% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 98.13% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”. Furthermore, Micrococcus spp. levels decreased by 93.74% at the PC “Shmatukha”, 96.37% at LLC “Bdzhola”, and 92.26% at LLC “Ryasnyanske”, in comparison to the monitoring results. The practical value of this study lies in controlling the spread of ectoparasites and developing preventive measures to eliminate ectoparasites and bacterial infestations in carp prior to their release into water bodies

In poultry rearing on deep bedding systems, microorganisms that cause infectious diseases develop within the bedding. This study aimed to determine the physical properties and microbial accumulation capacity of different types of bedding. Methods used included thermo-programmed desorption mass spectrometry, microbiological methods, and scanning electron microscopy. The hygroscopic properties of straw bedding deteriorated by 269.90% from the seventh to the fortysecond day. In the experimental room, where a dry disinfectant was added to the straw bedding, the hygroscopic capacity was 86.70% at the end of the experiment, a difference of 183.2%. Wood shavings bedding, with the addition of disinfectant, exhibited a water absorption capacity 102.82% higher than the control on the forty-second day. Granulated bedding with disinfectant retained moisture 150.33% better compared to the control. At the end of the experiment, the pH of straw bedding was 8.13 in the control group compared to 7.56 in the treated group; for wood shavings was 7.95 versus 7.16; and for granule was 7.35 versus 6.35, due to the use of the disinfectant. At the conclusion of the experiment, granulated bedding exhibited the lowest pH compared to straw and wood shavings, affecting the growth and reproduction of microorganisms. Monitoring of microorganisms in the bedding revealed the presence of bacteria: Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella pullorum, Clostridium perfringens, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia, Listeria monocytogenes, as well as microscopic fungi: Fusarium sporotrichioides, Aspergillus niger, and Eimeria oocysts. The use of disinfectant reduced bacterial contamination of straw bedding by 12.35-199.19%, fungal contamination by 633.91-1959.14%, and Eimeria by 676.50%. In the wood shavings bedding, bacterial contamination was reduced by 32.84-257.93%, fungal contamination by 487.08-1098.4%, and Eimeria by 570.21%. Granulated bedding showed reduced bacterial accumulation by 50.93-228.87%, fungal accumulation by 169.89-500.9%, and Eimeria by 301.56%. The practical significance of this study lies in the improved physical properties of poultry bedding and the reduction in bacterial, fungal, and Eimeria oocyst accumulation

Antibacterial preparations are used to prevent bacterial diseases in poultry when raising broilers but given the negative factor of their residual accumulation in meat and the acquisition of resistance by pathogens, it became necessary to find alternative means. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of various concentrations of Bacillus coagulans on the growth and development of broiler chickens. Methods employed: microbiological; physiological to determine the state of health and safety of chickens; zootechnical; pathological; statistical. The chickens in the experiment had a higher live weight at Day 35: in Group 1 – by 11%, in Group 2 – by 15.4%, and in Group 3 – by 18.4%, as opposed to the control. The average daily body weight gain of chickens in groups with B. coagulans was higher, in Group 1–by 10.8%, in Group 2–by 15%, and in Group 3–by 18.3%. The preservation rate in all experimental groups, regardless of the probiotic concentration, was 100%, while in the control group – 80%. There was an increase in live weight in the following groups: Group 1–by 11%, Group 2 – by 15.5%, Group 3 – by 19%. Feed conversion was lower in Group 1 by 5.3%, in Group 2 – by 3.4%, and in Group 3 – by 2%, compared to the control. At the end of the study, the level of Lactobacillus sp. in the intestines of chickens in Group 1 was 33.78% higher, in Group 2 – by 50%, in Group 3 – by 78.37%; a decrease in the content of Enterobacteriaceae sp. in Group 1–by 51.48%, in Group 2 – by 65.11%, in Group 3–by 90.67%; Staphylococcus sp. in Group 1–by 15.04%, in Group 2–by 35.44%, in Group 3–by 51.47% (p≤0.05), in contrast to the control. The average bursal weight in Group 1 was 4.82% higher, in Group 2–30% higher, in Group 3–37.53% higher, and the bursal index was 15%, 25%, and 30% higher, respectively, compared to the control
