Titanium niobium oxide (TiNb2O7) has shown great potential to replace carbon‐based anode materials for lithium‐ion batteries because of its high theoretical specific capacity and high rate performance. However, the low intrinsic Li+/e− conductivity of TiNb2O7 restricts its extensive application. To overcome this disadvantage, a novel reduced graphene oxide/glucose co‐assisted micro titanium niobium oxide hybrid anodes (G/C/TNO) was designed by a bottom‐up one‐pot method. rGO mainly acted as the carrier to reach the goal of ameliorating electronic conductivity. Glucose, as the fixative and carbon source, chiefly played a protective role in the structural integrity during cycling and synergized with rGO to improve Li+/e− transport kinetics. Therefore, the novel G/C/TNO composite displayed a high specific capacity of 208.8 mAh g−1 at 2C after 500 cycles and a good cycling stability of 161.1 mAh g−1 at a high rate of 10C in the best case. TiNb2O7 (TNO) is a promising anode material for lithium‐ion batteries because of its high capacity and long cyclic life. Nevertheless, its practical application is limited by sluggish ionic and electronic conductivity. Alien ion doping is one of the most simple and effective methods to optimize the electrochemical performance of anode materials. Herein, H2MoO4 derived Mo‐doped TiNb2O7 (Mo‐TNO) microspheres have been synthesized via a solvothermal method followed by calcining process. The resulting Mo‐TNO displays an excellent rate capacity (about 200 mAh g−1 at 10 C) and a high capacity retention (80 % after 500 cycles at ∼2.6 C compared with the second cycle). In addition, the H2MoO4‐derived Mo‐TNO still keeps the microsphere shape after 500 cycles at 10 C. Silicon anode is one of the most potential large capacity anodes for the refreshing new generation of lithium‐ion batteries. However, the volume changes greatly and the conductivity of Si anode is poor during the lithiation/delithiation process, resulting in inferior discharge/charge performance. To overcome these challenges, we design a core‐dual shell Si@MoO2@C composite by solvent evaporation method and sol‐gel method. The dual shell can surmount the considerable volume expansion as well as further the Li+/e− transport under the synergistic actions of the inner MoO2 and the outer carbon. The MoO2 shell can release the expansion pressure of Si as well as involve the storage of lithium effectively. The Si@MoO2@C anode shows a high ICE (about 80.3 %), a good specific capacity after 100 cycles (1171.7 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1), and a capacity retention of about 90.1 % (vs 2nd cycle). The excellent electrochemical performances are ascribed to the delicate design of the core‐dual shell structure apparently, which make the Si@MoO2@C to be considered as an extremely promising anode material for LIBs. Silicon is one of the most promising candidates for anode materials of lithium-ion batteries, due to its high theoretical capacity and low working voltage, etc. Nonetheless, silicon has huge volume change during the lithiation/delithiation, resulting in poor cycle performance. Herein, novel double-shell-structured Si@Al 2 O 3 @C nanoparticles are prepared to obtain stable electrochemical performance. The improved performance can be attributed to novel double-shell structure, which greatly improves the conductivity of material, stabilizes solid-electrolyte interface (SEI) film, and releases the expansion stress of silicon. Si@Al 2 O 3 @C nanoparticles deliver a specific capacity of 1316.1 mAh g−1 at 1 A g−1 after 100 cycles, and the average discharge capacity of Si@Al 2 O 3 @C nanoparticles at 4 A g−1 still remains 781.6 mAh g−1. Additionally, the initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) of material is as high as 82.9%. This work offers a significant method to further enhance the performance of lithium-ion batteries. • The hollow spherical LiNi 0.5 Mn 1.5 O 4 (HS-LNMO) was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method. • HS-LNMO exhibits excellent electrochemical performances. • Capacity retention of 95.1% could be obtained at 1C after 100 cycles. Hollow spherical LiNi 0.5 Mn 1.5 O 4 (LNMO) material was synthesized by a glucose-assisted hydrothermal method. The glucose was mainly used to control the morphology of LNMO. The initial discharge capacity at 1C was 124.6 mAhg−1. And even at 10C, 91.8 mAhg−1 could still be obtained. Moreover, its excellent structural stability ensures the integrity of the electrode and capacity retention of 95.1% could be obtained at 1C after 100 cycles. The results show that this unique hollow sphere-like structure can promote the transport of Li+ and improve lithium storage capacity.
