To investigate the effect of salt stress on the germination of sesame, a mixed salt solution of sodium chloride and calcium chloride was used as the culture medium to analyze the changes and correlations in growth characteristics, total phenolic content, total flavone content, antioxidant capacity, and antioxidant enzyme activity during the germination process of sesame. The results showed that salt stress could promote sesame germination and the accumulation of phenol and flavone, and improve the ABTS+ free radicals scavenging rate and the iron ion reduction ability of sesame. The effect of salt stress on antioxidant enzyme activity varied by enzyme species, and the treatment had a more obvious promoting effect on SOD and CAT activities compared with APX and POD activities. The correlation analysis results demonstrated that the total phenol of sesame cultured under salt stress was positively correlated with its total flavonoids, ABTS+ free radical scavenging rate, iron ion reducing ability, and POD enzyme activity. The correlation between total phenol and iron ion reducing ability, SOD activity and DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavenging ability, POD activity and iron ion reducing ability of sesame was enhanced by salt stress treatment. This study could lay a foundation for further deciphering the physiological mechanism of salt stress on sesame germination, and provide theoretical basis for the development of sesame functional foods. JUJUBE (Plant) ,LOW temperature plasmas ,BIOACTIVE compounds ,ELECTRIC fields ,VOLTAGE - Abstract
The effects of ultrasound (US), ultrahigh pressure (UP), cold plasma (CP), and high pressure and pulsed electric fields (PEF) pretreatments were evaluated for drying characteristics, bioactive components, and pectin properties of jujube slices during microwave coupled with pulsed vacuum drying (MPVD). US, CP, and PEF reduced drying time by 18.75%, while UP reduced it by 6.25%. Samples treated with US and PEF showed improved color and rehydration (345.11%, 319.24%), with SEM revealing larger pores post‐pretreatment. PEF‐treated jujube had highest phenol (16.95 mg GAE/g DW) and water‐soluble pectin(WSP) (43.71 mg/g AIR), correlating positively with rehydration (r = 0.67). CP had highest flavonoid content (17.01 mg RE/g DW) and US showed highest antioxidant activity (DPPH 80.57%, ABTS 89.65%). Chelate‐soluble pectin (CSP) Sodium carbonate‐soluble pectin (NSP) was positively correlated with hardness (r = 0.71, 0.69). These findings suggest pretreatments improve drying efficiency, nutrient retention, and pectin functionality in jujube products. Practical Applications: Drying for jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) is the most common method of processing and ensure the sale. Three kinds of non‐thermal processing pretreatment method (ultrasound, ultrahigh pressure, and cold plasma) combined with novel drying method, microwave coupled pulsed vacuum drying (MPVD) was studied in the application on the dehydration of jujube slice in this paper. The drying characteristics and pectin properties of winter jujube were analyzed and treated by MPVD compared with freeze drying and hot air drying, for both technological research and processing practice. The drying kinetics, bioactive compounds, antioxidant capacity, sensory attributes, and pectin properties were also used as descriptors in order to promising dehydration method for obtaining high value‐added jujube products. Moreover, the relationship between the cell wall pectin and the phenols, hardness and crispness were analyzed, which give a new insight to study the changing scheme in the nutrients and the texture during the dehydration for fruits and vegetables. Distributed photovoltaic grid integration brings many negative effects to the distribution network, and carrying out the research on its consumption capacity (CC) in the distribution network is the key to guarantee the safe and stable operation of the distribution network. This paper takes the maximum power access mode and minimum network loss as the optimization objectives, and takes voltage deviation, voltage fluctuation and short circuit capacity as the constraints to construct the evaluation model of distributed PV power generation CC. In view of the above problems, this paper uses edge computing to construct the evaluation of new energy (NE) CC of the grid, and applies it to the IEEE33 node network and the actual network. Finally, the established mathematical model and algorithm are validated (relative to Monte Carlo, the evaluation time of edge computing and time series production simulation is shorter, 13.11s and 23s, respectively). Food allergy (FA) is a major food safety problem that has plagued human health for a long time because of its multiple causes and complex and comprehensive allergy mechanism. Active polysaccharides have attracted extensive attention in the fields of food, medicine and biology because of their wide sources and biological activities such as immune regulation, anti-cancer and anti-tumor. Taking the action mechanism of food allergy as the starting point, this paper summarized the research on the correlation between food allergy and active polysaccharide, and analyzed the action pathway of active polysaccharide in regulating food allergy, in order to provide reference for the development of hypoal- lergenic food, medicine and feed. In the present work, the bactericidal efficacy and mechanism of slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW) on L. monocytogenes were evaluated. The results showed that the strains of L. monocytogenes were killed completely within 30 s by SAEW whose available chlorine concentration (ACC) was higher than 12 mg/L, and it was confirmed that ACC is the main factor affecting the disinfection efficacy of SAEW. Moreover, our results demonstrated that SAEW could destroy the cell membrane of L. monocytogenes, which was observed by SEM and FT-IR, thus resulting in the leakage of intracellular substances including electrolyte, protein and nucleic acid, and DNA damage. On the other hand, the results found that SAEW could disrupt the intracellular ROS balance of L. monocytogenes by inhibiting the antioxidant enzyme activity, thus promoting the death of L. monocytogenes. In conclusion, the bactericidal mechanism of SAEW on L. monocytogenes was explained from two aspects including the damage of the cell membrane and the breaking of ROS balance.

- Abstract
A Summary of main observation and conclusion Molecular geometry engineering is an effective strategy to control the micromorphology and molecular energy level in organic photovoltaics (OPVs). Two novel copolymers based on alkylsilyl- and chloride-functionalized benzodithiophene (BDT) were designed and synthesized for wide bandgap copolymer donor materials in OPVs. It was found that the two copolymers exhibited distinctly different properties in active layer when blended with fullerene-free acceptor IT-4F. The chloride-functionalized copolymer PBDTCl-TZ with deeper molecular energy level and better coplanar structure induced more ordered aggregation in blend film. Thus, the device based on PBDTCl-TZ exhibits better energy alignment with IT-4F and smaller radiative recombination. Furthermore, the non-radiative recombination of PBDTCl-TZ:IT-4F based device is about 45 mV lower than the PBDTSi-TZ:IT-4F based device, contributing to a lower energy loss (E-loss), and a higher open-circut voltage (V-OC). As a result, the devices based on the blend of PBDTCl-TZ:IT-4F exhibit a high power conversion efficiency (PCE) of up to 12.2% with a highV(OC)of 0.837 V, higher than that of PBDTSi-TZ:IT-4F, of which the PCE is 11.2% with a V-OC of 0.781 V., Funding Agencies|National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) [51973032, 21905043, 51973087, 51673092, 21762029]; National Natural Science Foundation of ChinaNational Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) [51833004]; China Scholarship CouncilChina Scholarship Council

Previous work has demonstrated that slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SAEW) can promote growth and nutrient enrichment of buckwheat sprouts. In this study, iTRAQ-based quantitative proteomic analysis of SAEW-induced buckwheat sprouts was conducted to explore its mechanism of action. The results showed that 11, 10 and 14 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) related to energy metabolism, oxidative stress and flavonoid biosynthesis accumulated upwards and downwards, respectively, in SAEW-treated buckwheat. Bioinformatics analysis revealed 118 GO categories were in relation to molecular function. In the SAEW group, a total of 9 DEPs (5 up-regulated) were mapped to 10 significantly enriched KEGG pathways. SAEW induced flavonoid enrichment by modulating zymoproteins (e.g. phenylalanine ammonialyase and flavonol synthase) in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis pathway. qRT-PCR results had consistency with abundance levels of their corresponding proteins. These findings are likely to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying the biochemical enrichment of buckwheat sprouts by SAEW.

- Abstract
The small intestine is responsible for approximately 90% of nutrient absorption, and it is widely believed that food allergens primarily sensitize through the small intestine. No study to date has investigated the association between food allergy (FA) and the altered small intestinal microenvironment (SIM), which would help to understand the biological process linking FA, and could provide new insights into the nutritional modulation of FA. In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between the development of FA and the altered SIM in ovalbumin-sensitized mice, as well as elucidate the underlying mechanisms by which Bifidobacterium longumsubsp. Infantis(B. infantis) and/or 2′-fucosyllactose regulate allergenic reactions from the perspective of SIM. Our findings demonstrate that ovalbumin-induced disruption of SIM is characterized by increased bacteria diversity, dysregulated production of organic acids and amino acids, elevated ileal pH levels, and disrupted intestinal tight junctions. Furthermore, B. infantisand 2′-fucosyllactose cotreatment most significantly repaired ovalbumin sensitization-induced SIM dysbiosis compared to mono-treatment with either B. infantisor 2′-fucosyllactose alone. Additionally, impaired intestinal barrier function may impact lung homeostasis by influencing material exchange between the lumen and tissues, thereby increasing susceptibility to pulmonary. Notably, B. infantisand/or 2′-fucosyllactose differentially regulated both SIM and lung homeostasis. The present study supports the notion that disrupted small intestinal microenvironment homeostasis underlie the development of food allergy and highlights the significance of the small intestine-lung axis as a target for probiotic and/or prebiotic-mediated modulation of food allergy.

the present study adopts the research method of spot check and does an analysis on 14 body indexes of boys and girls from 3 to 6 years old, including body build, function, quality and ect. The results are as follows: generally speaking, kids in kindergarten of Urumqi that are up the grade account for 88%, which is 2% higher than the average in Xinjiang but 1.2% lower than the average of China. In the above result, the excellent ones take up 9.8%, which is 0.5% higher than the average in Xinjiang but 1.4% lower than the average of China, the average ones take up 23.8%, which is 0.3% higher than that of Xinjiang but 1.4% lower than that of China, people who fail to pass the grade account for 11.2%, 2% lower than that of Xinjaing but 1.2% higher than that of China. The above results present the growing rules, development trend, differences and reasons of body indexes of kids in Urumqi, which provide some scientific base for the studies on kids' corporeity and its evaluation standards.

Lipid rafts were reported to play important roles in elaidic acid-induced apoptosis in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Linolelaidic acid induced cell injury more seriously than elaidic acid. However, whether lipid rafts may play the same roles for linolelaidic acid- and elaidic acid-induced cell injury was unknown. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effect of lipid rafts on linolelaidic acid- and elaidic acid-induced apoptosis, cell cycle arrest and inflammation in HUVECs. The cell viability was significantly decreased, the number of apoptotic cells and cell population in G1 phase were significantly increased in elaidic acid- or linolelaidic acid-treated cells, compared to methyl-β-cyclodextrin + trans-fatty acids-treated cells. In addition, the expression levels of pro-apoptotic proteins (caspase-3, -8, Bax, p53) and inflammation factors (vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, intercellular adhesion molecule, E-selectin and nitro oxide) were significantly increased, and anti-apoptotic protein like Bcl-2 decreased significantly in linolelaidic acid-treated cells, which were stronger than those in elaidic acid-treated cells. In conclusion, linolelaidic acid induces a stronger lesion effect on HUVECs through lipid rafts compared to elaidic acid. Practical applications: Different processing method generated different trans fatty acids, such as industrial hydrogenation produced amount of trans 18:1, deep frying with temperature over 200°C generated both trans 18:1 and trans 18:2. Researches reported that trans fatty acids with different saturation had diverse effect on human health, especially cardiovascular disease. This paper found that 9 t12 t18:2 induced a stronger lesion effect on HUVECs compared with 9 t18:1 through lipid rafts, which indicated that we should pay attention to 9 t12 t18:2 produced from deep frying, and the deep frying temperature should be dropped to reduce the trans 18:2 level. Moreover, the involvement of lipid rafts in trans fatty acids induced apoptosis, cell cycle arrest and inflammation was demonstrated, which provided a scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Both linoelaidic acid and elaidic acid induced HUVECs apoptosis and increased expression of pro-apoptotic proteins. However, supplementation of TFAs to MβCD-treated cells increased the cell viability and significantly decreased the number of apoptotic cells. Moreover, linolelaidic acid induces a stronger lesion effect on HUVECs by lipid rafts mediation compared to elaidic acid. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
