14. Screening UFMylation-associated genes in heart tissues of Ufm1-transgenic mice

Abstract

Abstract UFMylation is a ubiquitination-like modification that is related to endoplasmic reticulum stress and unfolded protein response. A recent study reported that Ufl1, a key enzyme of UFMylation, protects against heart failure, indicating that UFMylation may be associated with heart function regulation. In the present study, we initially constructed a Flag-6×His-tagged Ufm1ΔSC transgenic (Tg-Ufm1) mouse model that enables UFMylation studies in vivo. Tg-Ufm1 mice showed significant activation of UFMylation in hearts. By using this model, we identified 38 potential Ufm1-binding proteins in heart tissues through LC‒MS/MS methods. We found that these proteins were associated with mitochondria, metabolism and chaperone binding. By using transcriptomic screening, we identified Tnfaip2 as a novel UFMylation-associated gene. Overexpression of Ufm1 significantly upregulated the protein expression of Tnfaip2, whereas isoproterenol treatment decreased Tnfaip2 expression in Tg-Ufm1 mice. These data may provide novel clues for UFMylation in cardiac hypertrophy.

Abstract

This paper summarized the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine nursing based on integration of medical care for pain management in a patient with diabetic foot disease complicated with erysipelas. An integration team of medical care specialists was established for consultation instruction, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and nursing. Based on the syndrome differentiation, integrative nursing measures included Chinese herbal medicine application, Traditional Chinese Medicine collapse stains, acupuncture and health education before discharge from hospital were carried out to relieve the pain and improve the quality of life of the patient. Abstract

This paper summarized the prevention of blood return after indwelling needle placement and related nursing for a gangrene patient. Key issues of prevention and nursing included risk factors assessment, standard process, selection of proper puncture sites, tube-sealing method, selection of tube-sealing solution and health education. It is considered that taking effective preventive measures can reduce the occurrence of blood return after indwelling needle and improve the clinical therapeutic effect of indwelling needle. 50. Prevalence and risk factors associated with circadian syndrome in community-dwelling middle-aged to older adults: Based on health ecology model.

Abstract

To explore the prevalence and risk factors associated with circadian syndrome (CricS) in community-dwelling middle-aged to older adults. We performed a cross-sectional analysis of 13,516 participants from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). We used logistic regression to compute the odds ratios (OR) and 95 % confidence intervals (Cls), using covariates derived through the health ecology model. The overall prevalence of CricS was 31.5 % (25.0 % males and 37.1 % females). With controlling all covariates, social isolation (OR 1.164, 95%CI 1.033–1.310), irritable mood (OR 1.689, 95%CI 1.488–1.917), fear responses (OR 1.546, 95%CI 1.262–1.894), chronic disease (OR 1.577, 95%CI 1.392–1.788), and financial debt (OR 0.806, 95%CI 0.657–0.990) were significantly correlated with increased CricS risk in males, whereas CricS syndrome was significantly associated with age (OR 1.285, 95%CI 1.214–1.361), married (OR 1.258, 95%CI 1.089–1.452), current drinkers (OR 0.835, 95%CI 0.716–0.974), social isolation (OR 1.175, 95%CI 1.065–1.296), irritable mood (OR 1.346, 95%CI 1.210–1.497), fear responses (OR 1.202, 95%CI 1.047–1.378), chronic disease (OR 1.363, 95%CI 1.225–1.517), chronic pain (OR 1.177, 95%CI 1.058–1.309), and universal basic income (OR 0.742, 95%CI 0.611–0.900) in females. CricS is common in middle-aged to older adults, and health behavior factors have an important impact on CricS.
