Traffic is a set of complex variables such as vehicle flow and driver behavior, which one variable depends on the other and both depend on the scenario involved. The aim of this study is to analyze the implementation of traffic lights near a roundabout located in the city of Campina Grande-PB, in order to improve the flow and safety of drivers and pedestrians who surround it there. A study was conducted through a questionnaire with drivers and pedestrians using the roundabout daily evaluating the use of traffic lights near the roundabout as a solution to improve the flow in the device, as well as the safety of pedestrians who do crossings in their vicinity. The results of the questionnaire intensify the population's need to increase the safety and effectiveness of the roundabout at peak times, place of passage of students, workers, UFCG teachers, UEPB teachers, city dwellers who travel daily to work in Campina Grande, among others. Therefore, it is advisable to implement a partial traffic light that operates normally at certain periods of the day and remains with all focus groups flashing in alert form at other times, regularizing vehicle tickets more securely. The traffic light would be activated early in the morning, at lunch time and in the late afternoon, which are peak times, moving the population to their homes and feeding places.

This study deals with the analysis of rural companies showing the importance of environmental preservation in the face of economic development. The objective is to analyze this scenario of environmental relevance amid the negative impacts that may be caused with the use of innovative technologies and the irresponsible management of natural resources, looking for sustainable alternatives to change this scenario. As for the methodology employed, it uses the deductive approach method, the methods of interpretive and dialectical procedure, and the techniques of bibliographic and documentary research. The present research elucidates an alternative agriculture to replace the modern one that is, based on mechanisms that reduce the impacts to the environment and develop economically. In sequence, it shows the application of sustainable management in rural companies in order to become sustainable enterprises. Such application is analyzed based on the need for sustainable practices that promote economic development and preserve the environment. Therefore, it concludes that, based on the application of sustainability, rural companies that use sustainable mechanisms in their production process are able to meet the demands while conserving the environment and still develop economically, being able to be applied in companies rural areas.

The objective of this study is to describe the experiences acquired by undergraduate students during the development of the university outreach project "Adopt a Smile", from the interaction with elderly people residing in long-term institutions. Twelve undergraduate students from the Dentistry course at the Federal University of Campina Grande worked under the supervision of a professor from April to December 2017. Most institutionalized elderly people showed a significant deficit in self-esteem, aspects related to loss of identity and a need, often exacerbated, to be noticed and listened to with due attention. After the end of the coexistence period, it was possible to conclude that the outreach project achieved its main objectives, as it provided the establishment of bonds between the institutionalized elderly people and the dentistry students in that group. It also rescued the elderly's self-esteem, and awakened a more humanized side in the eyes of the participating students., Objetiva-se, com este estudo, descrever as experiências adquiridas por acadêmicos durante a vigência do projeto de extensão “Adote um Sorriso”, a partir do convívio com idosos de instituições de longa permanência. Atuaram no projeto 12 graduandos do curso de Odontologia da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, sob a supervisão de uma docente, no período de abril a dezembro de 2017. Pôde-se observar, na maioria dos idosos institucionalizados, um expressivo déficit de autoestima, aspectos relacionados à perda de identidade e uma necessidade, muitas vezes exacerbada, de serem notados e ouvidos com a atenção devida. Após o término do período de convivência, foi possível concluir que o projeto extensionista alcançou seus principais objetivos, por ter proporcionado o estabelecimento de vínculos entre os idosos institucionalizados com os acadêmicos de Odontologia, além do resgate da autoestima dos idosos, e despertar um lado mais humanizado no olhar dos alunos participantes.
