[ES] Josep Renau fue uno de los artistas españoles más relevantes del pasado siglo, capaz de unificar en sus obras sus ideas comunistas y republicanas surgidas en el contexto de la Guerra Civil Española y una técnica novedosa en el ámbito de la fotografía, el diseño publicitario y el muralismo dejando patente tanto su carácter revolucionario, como su función social claramente reivindicativa. El presente Trabajo Final de Grado surge de la colaboración interinstitucional entre el Departamento de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales de la Universitat Politècnica de Valencia y el Departamento de Restauración del Institut Valencià d´Art Modern (IVAM) para el estudio de obra gráfica de la colección. En particular, se propone estudiar el proyecto gráfico de la obra "La marcha de la juventud hacia el futuro" (ca. 1974), obra contemporánea de gestualidad informalista del siglo XX marcada por otras corrientes de la época, por ser una cultura ilustrativa y descriptiva que va desde el realismo naturista a un expresionismo dramático, con el fin de estimular sentimientos tales como orgullo, desprecio, coraje, rechazo, exaltación y amor patrióticos. Se trata del proyecto gráfico que se conserva de un mural desaparecido realizado con materiales de muy baja calidad y con procedimientos gráficos de distinta naturaleza. El hecho de ser una obra que no ha sido concebida para perdurar en el tiempo agrava su estabilidad y obliga a adaptar los criterios de conservación y restauración con el fin de acondicionarlos a las necesidades del conjunto. Por este motivo, la intervención ha sido concebida desde una perspectiva no tradicional que atiende a los diferentes aspectos que presenta la obra., [EN] Josep Renau was one of the most relevant Spanish artists of the last century, able of unify in his works his communist and republican ideas that emerged in the context of the Spanish Civil War and a new technique in the field of photography, advertising design and muralism making clear both its revolutionary character and its clearly vindictive social function. This Final Degree Project arises from the inter-institutional collaboration between the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Assets of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Department of Restoration of the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) for the study of graphic work of the collection. In particular, it is intended to study the sketch of the work 'The march of youth towards the future' (ca. 1974), a contemporary work of informalist gestures of the 20th century marked by other currents of the time, for being an illustrative and descriptive culture that ranges from naturist realism to dramatic expressionism, in order to stimulate feelings such as pride, contempt, anger, rejection, exaltation and patriotic love. This is the surviving sketch of a missing mural made with very low-quality materials and with graphic techniques of a different nature. The fact of being a work that has not been conceived to last in time, aggravates its stability. This generates the need to adapt the conservation and restoration criteria in order to adapt them to the needs of the whole. For this reason, the intervention has been conceived from a non-traditional perspective that attends to the different dimensions that the work presents.
