This article discuss the demand for airline maintenance, repair and overhaul services in Asia-Pacific region and the response of MRO companies. Air China and Lufthansa Technic have a partnership in Ameco (Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Cooperation); and SR Technics and China Eastern Airlines are negotiating toward establishing a joint venture maintenance operation. Throughout the region similar initiatives are being pursued.

The Lufthansa group has extended its joint venture Ameco (Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Co.) with Air China in Beijing for 25 years in maintenance and engine servicing. Consolidation of Chinese airlines into three major carriers will bring in productivity and synergize business, bringing an ongoing change with fleet upgradation and focus on new technologies.
