An overview is presented of a renovation project conducted on the Wall House in the city of Groningen, in the Netherlands. Originally designed in 1973, the building reflects a combination of Surrealist sculpture, Cubism and architecture.

UK architects have used computer technology to its full potential when designing the underground extension to the Jubilee Line in London. A wall consisting of 557 blue-glass triangles has been constructed at Southwark Station using the help of computer aided design technology. The wall is built on a curving slope, constructed on a steel frame, with the glass held in place by spider fixings. The wall was designed by Matthew Dean, who works for architect MacCormac Jamieson Prichard.

The First Church of Christ Scientist in Richmond, United Kingdom, has been altered by David Chipperfield Architects so that the emphasis is now placed on the congregation rather than the building itself. The main auditorium has been changed so that it offered a smaller and more intimate setting for Christian worship, and a new reading room has been added to the side of the reduced auditorium. The architects decided to keep the entrance to the building formal, although it has been improved to include better lighting in the foyer.

David Chipperfield Architects have worked on a variety of projects in the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan since the office became established in 1985. Examples include an office building in Dusseldorf, Germany and The River and Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames, United Kingdom. The office has recently completed a shop refit for Katharine Hamnett in London which only took three weeks to build and offers maximum views in to the shop.

Scott Johnson designed a cubist assemblage of shapes for a weekend retreat in the Napa Valley. The house shows Johnson's devotion to modernism and his preference for plain materials. Some of the furniture in the house was created by the architect.

Frank Gehry and Langdon Wilson built a modern house composed of bold geometric forms covered by stainless-steel roofs for a collector of modern and contemporary art. Large windows let in the light and provide a view. Special glass protects the art from damage.

The architectural design for the Citizens Advice Bureau in Chessington is a modern construction which is made up of several square blocked rooms with glazed and framed walls. It caters for disabled and able-bodied people and has includes heating, lighting and security technological innovations. Its appropriateness is questionable in terms of its usage, because the staff of the centre are unlikely to be able to manage the new technology.
