Abstract Referrals for gender dysphoria (GD), characterized by a distressful incongruence between gender identity and at-birth assigned sex, are steadily increasing. The underlying neurobiology, and the mechanisms of the often-beneficial cross-sex hormone treatment are unknown. Here, we test hypothesis that own body perception networks (incorporated in the default mode network—DMN, and partly in the salience network—SN), are different in trans-compared with cis-gender persons. We also investigate whether these networks change with cross-sex hormone treatment. Forty transmen (TrM) and 25 transwomen (TrW) were scanned before and after cross-sex hormone institution. We used our own developed Body Morph test (BM), to assess the perception of own body as self. Fifteen cisgender persons were controls. Within and between-group differences in functional connectivity were calculated using independent components analysis within the DMN, SN, and motor network (a control network). Pretreatment, TrM and TrW scored lower “self” on the BM test than controls. Their functional connections were weaker in the anterior cingulate-, mesial prefrontal-cortex (mPFC), precuneus, the left angular gyrus, and superior parietal cortex of the DMN, and ACC in the SN “Self” identification and connectivity in the mPFC in both TrM and TrW increased from scan 1 to 2, and at scan 2 no group differences remained. The neurobiological underpinnings of GD seem subserved by cerebral structures composing major parts of the DMN.

Most polymers exposed to UV radiating from the sun deteriorate and lose their mechanical features. Polymer coatings are generally used for protection of metal surfaces against corrosive factors. Thus, production of coatings blocking the sunlight UV rays is necessary to protect the metal surfaces. This work mainly focuses on synthesis of fluorescent bio-based UV-curable polyurethane acrylate (PUA) and studies the changes occurred in the various specifications of these coatings resulted from adding carbon quantum dots (CQDs). To synthesize PUA oligomer, castor oil was applied as a natural and biocompatible substance instead of chemical polyols. By pyrolysis of the starch and water blend, CQDs were synthesized using microwave-assisted method. To characterize the synthesized coatings and to analyze the reinforcing effect of CQDs on the resultant nanocomposite, electroscopic methods were utilized. Adding CQDs 0.5 wt% to PUA resin resulted in improvement of adhesion strength and thermal stability in PUA/CQDs (0.5 wt%) coating compared to PUA (pure) coating. With exposing PUA/CQDs to UV rays, blue fluorescence was emitted and strong absorption bands also appeared in all of the UV regions. Most of the UV rays passed through the PUA film, while PUA/CQDs blocked higher than 99% of UV radiation. Results from salt spray and EIS tests confirmed that resistance to corrosion was improved in PUA/CQDs coating versus the pure coating.

Background: Conduct disorder is a prevalent difficulty among children and adolescents, encompassing a range of mental and behavioral problems. The present study aimed to determine the association of developmental family functioning and conduct disorder signs with the mediating effect of cognitive emotion regulation in adolescents.Methods: The present descriptive-correlational study was conducted on 362 students aged 15-18 (16.70±0.92) in Tabriz, Iran in 2023. The study participants were chosen through multi-stage cluster sampling technique. Data collection was done using Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ), Youth Self Report Questionnaire (YSRQ) and Developmental Family Functioning Assessment Scale Questionnaire (DFFAQ) and interviews. Data analysis was done through descriptive statistical methods and path analysis with SPSS version 23 and LISREL version 8.80.Results: Mean±SD of the studied variables were as follows: Attention and regulation (2.35±0.54), Logical thinking (1.96±0.49), Discipline (1.95±0.45), Catastrophizing (2.63±1.16), and Acceptance (2.75±1.24). The data analysis showed that the developmental family functioning had a significant association with negative (r=-0.21, P=0.0001) and positive strategies (r=0.32, P=0.0001) of cognitive emotion regulation. Also, negative (r=0.31, P=0.0001) and positive strategies (r=-0.44, P=0.0001) of cognitive emotion regulation had a statistically significant correlation with conduct disorder symptoms.Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, developmental family functioning has a significant association with the symptoms of conduct disorder in adolescents due to the association between negative and positive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation.

Microwave and ultrasound techniques were utilized on walnut green husk (WGH) to extract valuable phenolic compounds and enhance the residual biomass's susceptibility to hydrolysis for subsequent ethanol production. The aim was to optimize process variables in order to achieve an integrated biorefinery with the zero-waste-base standpoint. For microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), four-time levels (0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 5 min) and power settings (300, 450, 600, and 800 W) were tested. Ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) was conducted at a frequency of 28 kHz and power of 100 W over varying time intervals (2, 6, 10, 14, 18, and 22 min). Generally, higher power settings and longer extraction times produced higher contents. Specifically, the maximum total phenolic content (TPC) (220.13 mg GAE/g-DW), total flavonoid content (TFC) (63.21 mg catechin/g-DW), and DPPH scavenging activity (86.13 %) were achieved using the highest power and longest extraction time for MAE. Similarly, the longest UAE time resulted in the highest TPC (214.32 mg GAE/g-DW), highest TFC (58.44 mg catechin/g-DW), and DPPH scavenging activity (76.15 %). Moreover, increased microwave power and longer extraction times favored glucose and ethanol yields, with maximum yields of 55.30 % and 36.67 %, respectively, obtained at 800 W for 5 min. For UAE, the highest glucose and ethanol yields (52.33 % and 34.16 %, respectively) were obtained at 22 min. Conversely, lower extraction times and power settings for microwave, as well as shorter ultrasound times, were beneficial for lignin removal. The application of MAE and UAE in the WGH biorefinery process enhanced the extraction of phenolics and improved biomass hydrolysis, leading to more efficient, sustainable, and economically viable production of biofuels and bioproducts.

Rotary friction welding (RFW) is a solid-state joining process that can be used to join different alloy systems such as aluminum-steel alloys. Rotary friction welding has become increasingly appealing for various industries due to the sustainable advantages that it offers, including overall cost reduction, weight minimization, and unique properties. However, the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds (IMCs) at the interface can be a challenge in the welding process of aluminum-steel alloys. This paper reviews the metallurgical characteristics of aluminum-steel alloy joints manufactured by rotary friction welding. The different types of intermetallic compounds that can form at the interface, as well as the factors that affect their formation, are discussed. The effects of rotary friction welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints are also presented. Specifically, minimizing interfacial reaction layers via post-weld heat treatment and controlling the heat input during the process is crucial to suppressing the formation of intermetallic compounds. This study employed artificial intelligence modeling, specifically the artificial neural network - multilayer perceptron, to investigate the effect of various parameters on the ultimate properties of the parts welded together. Overall, this paper provides an excellent resource for industries looking to embrace rotary friction welding to tackle the challenge of dissimilar Al-steel joining.

Background: Understanding the factors associated with the propensity for drug dependence might be helpful in providing the best strategies for substance use prevention among youth. The present study was conducted to examine the association between childhood maltreatment (CM) and susceptibility to substance use disorders (SUDs), taking into account the mediating role of psychological safety. Methods: In this cross-sectional study, multistage cluster sampling was employed to recruit 400 male students from the three universities of Tabriz in 2019. Research instruments included the valid and reliable scales of substance abuse, childhood trauma, and mental safety. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation, and structural equation modeling. Results: The results showed positive significant relationships between vulnerability to SUDs, CM, and low levels of psychological safety. The evaluation of our hypothetical research model using fit indices showed that the model fits well the measurement model (CFI=0.97, GFI=0.95, RMSEA=0.058). Conclusion: Our proposed theoretical model suggested psychological security as a mediator between CM and SUDs. CM explained addiction in college students through reducing psychological security. Investigating these interactive processes seems to be detrimental, considering that they may enhance our understanding of the ways to reduce the risk.

Background. Given the fact that there is contradictory evidence regarding the effectiveness of computerized cognitive rehabilitation interventions, the present study intended to compare the potential effects of non-computer and computer-based cognitive rehabilitation interventions on the memory of stroke patients in Tabriz. Methods. To this end, we conducted a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study included individuals who were admitted to a hospital in Tabriz, Iran, for the treatment of stroke. After identifying patients who met the inclusion criteria on the base of purposive sampling, 45 stroke patients were randomly selected and assigned to two experimental groups (15 in the computer-based group and 15 in the non-computer group) and one control group (15 in the waiting list). To measure the dependent variables of the research, Wechsler’s Digit Span subscale and Folstein’s MMSE were used. The cognitive rehabilitation therapy was performed three times a week for 7 weeks for the non-computer experimental group. The computer-based rehabilitation intervention using Captain’s Log software was delivered during the same period. Results. The results show that both computer-based and non-computer cognitive rehabilitation interventions are equally effective in improving working memory (visual and auditory) of stroke patients. Conclusion. It can be concluded that the unsubstantiated orientation towards the quality and quantity of using new computer-based interventions is not desirable and that the potential of both computer and non-computer interventions should be used to improve the memory of stroke patients. Practical Implications. Based on the findings, specialists can use the potential of both non-computer and computer-based cognitive rehabilitation interventions in improving auditory/visual working memory function of patients with stroke.

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of selective laser trabeculoplasty in improving the intraocular pressure in patients diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma. A comprehensive search was performed across electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, until June 2024, using keywords related to "selective laser trabeculoplasty" and "open-angle glaucoma." Studies were chosen based on set eligibility criteria. Data extraction was carried out by two independent reviewers, and statistical analyses were performed using a random-effects model to calculate the pooled mean differences in IOP reduction and overall success rates. The initial search yielded 3111 articles, with 23 studies included in the systematic review and 22 in the meta-analysis. The pooled MD in IOP reduction between the SLT and control groups was -1.44 mm Hg (95% CI: -2.19 to -0.70, p < 0.01). Subgroup analyses revealed a MD of -0.76 mm Hg (95% CI: -1.31 to -0.21, p < 0.01) when comparing SLT to medication, and -0.42 mm Hg (95% CI: -0.64 to -0.19, p < 0.01) when comparing 180-degree SLT to 360-degree SLT. The pooled success rate favored SLT with an odds ratio (OR) of 0.71 (95% CI: 0.51 to 0.99, p = 0.05). There was significant heterogeneity among the studies (I² = 71%). SLT is effective in lowering IOP in OAG patients, demonstrating significant efficacy compared to medication and different SLT protocols. The findings underscore SLT's potential as a reliable treatment option. However, the observed heterogeneity underscores the necessity for standardized protocols in future research to improve comparability and verify SLT's long-term effectiveness.

BackgroundHelicobacter pylori, a bacterium associated with severe gastrointestinal diseases and malignancies, poses a significant challenge because of its increasing antibiotic resistance rates. This study aimed to identify potential drug targets and inhibitors against H. pylori using a structure-based virtual screening (SBVS) approach.MethodsCore-proteome analysis of 132 H. pylori genomes was performed using the EDGAR database. Essential genes were identified and human and gut microbiota homolog proteins were excluded. The DAH7PS protein involved in the shikimate pathway was selected for the structure-based virtual screening (SBVS) approach. The tertiary structure of the protein was predicted through homology modeling (based on PDB ID: 5UXM). Molecular docking was performed to identify potential inhibitors of DAH7PS among StreptomeDB compounds using the AutoDock Vina tool. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations assessed the stability of DAH7PS-ligand complexes. The complexes were further evaluated in terms of their binding affinity, Lipinski’s Rule of Five, and ADMET properties.ResultsA total of 54 novel drug targets with desirable properties were identified. DAH7PS was selected for further investigation, and virtual screening of StreptomeDB compounds yielded 36 high-affinity binding of the ligands. Two small molecules, 6,8-Dihydroxyisocoumarin-3-carboxylic acid and Epicatechin, also showed favorable RO5 and ADMET properties. MD simulations confirmed the stability and reliability of DAH7PS-ligand complexes, indicating their potential as inhibitors.ConclusionThis study identified 54 novel drug targets against H. pylori. The DAH7PS protein as a promising drug target was evaluated using a computer-aided drug design. 6,8-Dihydroxyisocoumarin-3-carboxylic acid and Epicatechin demonstrated desirable properties and stable interactions, highlighting their potential to inhibit DAH7PS as an essential protein. Undoubtedly, more experimental validations are needed to advance these findings into practical therapies for treating drug-resistant H. pylori.

Nacre of Pinctada maxima is a natural biomineralized matrix, appeared 7 million years before hominins. In this study, we converted nacre into a self-setting particle bound with multiple calcium orthophosphates that reassemble mammals’ bone mineral matrices for induction of bone regeneration. The nacre-based calcium orthophosphates composite (NCOC) exhibited a compression strength of 10 MPa, which is superior to human trabecular bone. In vitro bioactivity tests revealed the formation of apatite with nano-porous flake-like crystals on the composite surface that mimic HA structure of a human bone matrix. NCOC demonstrated efficient attachment and proliferation of osteoblast cells, promoting osteogenic differentiation by increasing expressions of RUNX2 and OPN. In vivo studies using rabbit back fascia demonstrated that NCOC displays better bone healing and biocompatibility than conventional bone substitute apatite in critical bone defect models. The degradation of calcium carbonate crystal in vivo does not compromise structural integrity of NCOC. Overall, our data showed that NCOC produced through self-setting reactions, presents advantages such as accelerated biodegradation and osteostimulative properties, making it a promising bone substitute for effective bone regeneration.

Introduction: Esophageal Cancer (EC) ranks among the most common malignancies worldwide. Most EC patients acquire drug resistance to chemotherapy either intrinsically or acquired after T-DM1 treatment, which shows that increasing or decreasing the expression of particular genes might influence chemotherapeutic sensitivity or resistance. Therefore, gaining a deeper understanding of the altered expression of genes involved in EC drug resistance and developing new therapeutic methods are essential targets for continued advancement in EC therapy. Methods: The present study aimed to find critical regulatory genes/pathways in the progression of T-DM1 resistance in OE-19 EC cells. Expression datasets were extracted from GEO omnibus. Gene interactions were analyzed, and the protein-protein interaction network was drawn. Then, enrichment analysis of the hub genes and network cluster analysis of the hub genes was performed. Finally, the genes were screened in the DrugBank database as therapeutic targets and molecular docking analysis was done on the selected targets. Results: In the current study, nine hub genes were identified in TDM-1-resistant EC cells (CTGF, CDH17, THBS1, CXCL8, NRP1, ITGB5, EDN1, FAT1, and PTGS2). The KEGG analysis highlighted the IL-17 signaling pathway and ECM-receptor interaction pathway as the most critical pathways; cluster analysis also showed the significance of these pathways. Therefore, the genes involved in these two pathways, including CXCL8, FSCN1, PTGS2, SERPINE2, LEF1, THBS1, CCN2, TAGLN, CDH11, and ITGA6, were searched in DrugBank as therapeutic targets. The DrugBank analysis suggests a potential role for Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) in reducing T-DM1 drug resistance in EC. The docking results revealed that NSAIDs, including Diclofenac, Mefenamic acid, Celecoxib, Naproxen, and Etoricoxib, significantly suppress resistant cancer cells. Conclusion: This comprehensive bioinformatics analysis deeply explains the molecular mechanisms governing TDM-1 resistance in EC. The identified hub genes and their associated pathways offer potential targets for therapeutic interventions. Moreover, the possible role of NSAIDs in mitigating T-DM1 resistance presents an intriguing avenue for further investigation. This research contributes significantly to the field and establishes a basis for further research to enhance treatment efficacy for EC patients.

Background: Adolescence is a period marked by biological, psychological and behavioral changes, which evoke intense emotional responses in teenagers. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between internalizing syndromes and morbid curiosity, and cyber aggression among adolescents. Methods: The study population included all male and female middle and high school students in District 3 of Tehran during the academic year 2021-2022. A statistical sample of 375 individuals was randomly selected through cluster sampling. The research utilized the cyber aggression scale for adolescents by Alvarez-Garcia cyber aggression scale for adolescents, the Achenbach and Edelbrock internalizing syndromes scale and the scrivener morbid curiosity scale. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, version 26 and AMOS software, version 24. Results: The results showed a significant structural relationship between internalizing syndromes and cyber aggression, as well as between morbid curiosity and cyber aggression. However, internalizing syndromes and morbid curiosity accounted for only 4.8% of cyber aggression. Conclusion: These findings have implications for adolescent counseling, psychotherapy, education, training and correctional and rehabilitation centers.

This study queries into the ethical functions of diasporic fiction through carrying out a textual as well as a contextual study of The Famished Road. As an account of the politically marginal and the socially displaced, the diasporic novel is imbued with a singularity of form and content. Formally speaking, diasporic fiction is non-canonical, since it belongs to the space between nations and cultures. Furthermore, it partakes of a dialogic form which novelizes minor discourses and genres. In terms of content, the diasporic fiction opens up and narrates a liminal space and consists of the search for a utopian alternative to the dystopian status quo. The concurrence of these four qualities turns the diasporic novel into an account of experience at its extremes. However, the diasporic fiction is ethically radical not because it shows how different human experience is at the moment of exception, but because it points toward what Badiou calls an ethics of truths in singular situations. The diasporic experience results in a radical ethical system of truths that, far from succumbing to an overarching ethics of difference and a logic of us versus them, highlights the human truth at the heart of the experience of diaspora.

Abstract Background Despite the numerous studies conducted on workplace spirituality, there is still lack of studies that have explored the relationship between workplace spirituality with organization-based self-esteem and workplace deviant behaviors. This study aims to examine the relationship between workplace spirituality with organization-based self-esteem and workplace deviant behaviors among Iranian nurses. Methods 236 nurses from 5 hospitals participated in this descriptive, analytical, and cross-sectional study from August to December 2022. Data was gathered by four questionnaires: demographic information, workplace spirituality, organization-based self-steam, and workplace deviant behaviors. The data were analyzed by SPSS 26 based on descriptive and inferential statistics (Independent Two-sample t Test, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression). Results Based on the findings, nurses had a moderate level of perception of workplace spirituality and organization-based self-esteem while having a low level of perception regarding the occurrence of workplace deviate behaviors. Results of Pearson correlation coefficient test showed a positive and statistically significant relationship between workplace spirituality and organization-based self-esteem. Additionally, there was an inverse and significant relationship between workplace spirituality and organization-based self-esteem with workplace deviant behaviors. Results of multiple regression analyses indicate that by controlling the demographic characteristics of nurses, the meaningful work and sense of community have a significant relationship with organization-based self-esteem. Furthermore, by controlling the demographic characteristics of nurses, permanent employment status, sense of community, alignment with the organization’s values, and organization-based self-esteem have a significant relationship with workplace deviant behavior. Conclusions The study suggests that organizations must prioritize promoting workplace spirituality and organization-based self-esteem to ensure a healthy work environment and prevent workplace deviant behaviors.

Purpose: In recent decades, a significant number of information technology-based businesses have risen to the top of the world's leading companies list. Until the early years of the third millennium AD, large companies and owners of oil wells and mineral resources, along with industrial production complexes that are several decades and several hundred years old, have been the flagships of the list of the largest and most successful companies in the world. However, this leadership has been astonishingly challenged by IT-based start-ups in the last two decades. The value of the production of information technology businesses from the total production of the world increased by about 29% in approximately 5 years, between 2015 and 2020, reaching $24.615 trillion. The share of the digital economy in the total world economy reached about 25%. In other words, the digital economy has absorbed two and a half percent of the traditional economy in just 5 years. These instances underscore the importance of considering the position of information technology-based businesses. According to the 2018 report of the Ministry of Information Technology, the share of the digital economy in the total gross domestic product of the country is approximately six and a half percent, while the global average of this index is around fifteen percent. This fact highlights the need to focus more on the development of these businesses in the country, which is the rationale for conducting the present research. This research was carried out with the aim of identifying the various dimensions influencing the formation and growth of these businesses and how these factors are interconnected in the country. Method: The present research was conducted in two distinct stages, qualitative and quantitative. Initially, the problem was identified and defined, followed by a review of previous related studies to identify the main dimensions of the model. Subsequently, a total of 12 in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with managers, entrepreneurs, technology policy makers, and information technology experts. Additionally, archival sources were consulted. Through content analysis and the coding method, the research conceptual model was developed, comprising three main categories. In the quantitative phase, the model was refined to form the basis of the research questionnaire. After assessing the content validity, the questionnaire was distributed to three groups within the industry community: 1) managers and executives of relevant businesses, 2) entrepreneurs and business owners, and 3) academic and business experts. Data collected from these questionnaires were analyzed using various statistical tests, and the validity of the model and its structures were confirmed through structural equation modeling. Findings: After conducting the systematic steps of the research and analyzing the data from the experiences of the participants in the qualitative part of the research, three categories were identified as the main ones: internal organizational characteristics, environmental drivers and obstacles, and political factors. Based on the obtained results, policy factors in this model are an exogenous and independent variable that plays a key role in the development of these businesses. This finding confirms the necessity of the government's presence and adoption of policies to support the development of these businesses. According to the results of this research, another crucial dimension directly affected by government policies is environmental factors. The third category of factors indirectly influenced by government policies includes organizational factors. These factors encompass having the right project team and access to expert human resources, the appropriate business model, a focus on innovation and marketing power, and market penetration power. Conclusion: By identifying these factors, the path becomes clearer for the government and other policy-making institutions. The development of the digital economy in the country necessitates simultaneous attention to environmental and internal factors. The government, as a key policy maker, plays a crucial role in fostering digital businesses. Activists and entrepreneurs in this sector view financing as a significant bottleneck in business development. Therefore, it is imperative for relevant institutions to prioritize current policies that support these businesses and facilitate financing for them.

Abstract Background Trichomonas vaginalis is the most common nonviral sexually transmitted disease (STI) worldwide. Vaccination is generally considered to be one of the most effective methods of preventing infectious diseases. Using AP65, AP33 and α-actinin proteins, this research aims to develop a protein vaccine against Trichomonas vaginalis. Methods Based on the B-cell and T-cell epitope prediction servers, the most antigenic epitopes were selected, and with the necessary evaluations, epitope-rich domains of three proteins, AP65, AP33, and α-actinin, were selected and linked. Subsequently, the ability of the vaccine to interact with toll-like receptors 2 and 4 (TLR2 and TLR4) was assessed. The stability of the interactions was also studied by molecular dynamics for a duration of 100 nanoseconds. Results The designed protein consists of 780 amino acids with a molecular weight of 85247.31 daltons. The results of the interaction of the vaccine candidate with TLR2 and TLR4 of the immune system also showed that there are strong interactions between the vaccine candidate protein with TLR2 (-890.7 kcal mol-1) and TLR4 (-967.3 kcal mol-1). All parameters studied to evaluate the stability of the protein structure and the protein-TLR2 and protein-TLR4 complexes showed that the structure of the vaccine candidate protein is stable alone and in complex with the immune system receptors. Investigation of the ability of the designed protein to induce an immune response using the C-ImmSim web server also showed that the designed protein is capable of stimulating B- and T-cell lymphocytes to produce the necessary cytokines and antibodies against Trichomonas vaginalis. Conclusions Overall, our vaccine may have potential protection against Trichomonas vaginalis. However, for experimental in vivo and in vitro studies, it may be a good vaccine candidate. In order to investigation the effect of the application of single and mixing of propyzamide and ethofumesate herbicides in the control of dodder, grass and broad leaves weeds of sugar beet, three experiment carried out at the greenhouse of sugar beet seed breeding research institute in 2017. The experiments were performed in a completely randomized design with 30, 10 and 9 treatments and four replications, respectively. Result showed that the effect of mixing different doses of Propyzamide and Ethofumesate herbicides and species of different area dodder on all studied traits in the present study was significant 1%. In general, the percentage of final germination (82.7%), daily germination rate (0.18 days) and the percentage of connection of Ardabil dodder to the host plan (82.7%) were higher than Alborz and Qom species. The highest percentage of weed conection of the dodder to the sugar beet was observed in the treat that cultivation distance of 5 cm. Application of Propisamide 2.5 L.ha-1 and Propisamide 1.5 L.ha-1 + Ethofumesate 1 L.ha-1 in connecting the dodder to the host, compared to Ethofumesate could control of dodder weeds (100%) and reduction of fresh and dry weights, density and chlorophyll of thin and broad leaveas weed and increased leaf chlorophyll and yield of sugar beet in green house condition. Background. The success of horror films, the attention to violent crimes and the prevalence of violence in the news show that morbid curiosity is a common psychological trait. However, research on morbid curiosity is largely absent in the psychological research literature. one of the reasons being the lack of a suitable Scale for Iranian society. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the reliability and validity of the Persian version of the Morbid Curiosity Scale. Methods. The research design was descriptive factor analysis and the statistical population of the study was all students of Zanjan University in the academic year 1400-1401, from which 500 people were selected by cluster sampling. For the study, Morbid Curiosity Scale was used. Results. The results showed that Cronbach's alpha for the subscales of the Minds of Dangerous People is 0.79, Body Violation is 0.81, Supernatural Danger is 0.79, and Interpersonal Violence is 0.80 and the total scale is 0.85. The results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis also confirmed the significant relationship between explicit variables and latent structures and showed that the four-factor structure has a good fit in the samples. Conclusion. The morbid curiosity scale among students has good reliability and validity and the use of this scale in future research is reliable. Practical Implications. The findings of this research can be used in psychotherapy, psychological research, media psychology, and advertising psychology.
