This study delves into the cultural significance and educational potential of Hua'er folk songs within the Hui ethnic communities of Gansu and Ningxia in northwest China. By positioning Hua'er as an indispensable educational tool in folk song history, the research seeks to safeguard and elevate this revered musical tradition. Employing literature reviews, immersive fieldwork, questionnaire surveys, interviews with four significant contributors, and direct observations, the study sheds light on the importance of Hua'er music as a cultural legacy. These insights offer valuable guidance for educators, cultural institutions, and future research initiatives. Through a detailed exposition of the research methodology, this study enriches our understanding of the diverse landscape of Chinese folk song history, presenting avenues for further exploration and practical application in educational contexts.

The use of virtual museums in cultural transfer is an interdisciplinary approach of significant importance. Virtual museums play a crucial role in cultural transfer by digitally preserving cultural heritage. This article examines the educational role of virtual museums as a key tool in cultural transfer, particularly in the context of representing Ottoman works in virtual museums. Museums, indispensable elements of cultural transfer and education in contemporary society, have gained the opportunity to reach wider audiences by transitioning into the digital realm. In this context, the representation of Ottoman works in virtual museums and its role in cultural transfer are highlighted. Virtual museums hold great educational potential. It is well recognized that the representation of Ottoman works in virtual museums has educational effects such as expanding learning environments, facilitating access to knowledge, and increasing cultural awareness. Therefore, the representation of Ottoman works in virtual museums, especially in the field of education, is addressed. This study evaluates the role of the representation of Ottoman works in virtual museums in cultural transfer and education, thus demonstrating the educational potential of virtual museums. The research illustrates that virtual museums serve as significant tools for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage, and the representation of Ottoman works in virtual museums contributes to this process. Using Ferdinand de Saussure's theory of signs, signifier, signified, this study examines the representation and educational role of Ottoman works in virtual museums.

The background of this research is the need for teacher innovation in developing digital-based learning media in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE) model, which consists of five research stages: analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation that present the results regarding innovation, features, applications, and the impact of using the "benkangen" game in learning Indonesian in elementary school. The subjects of this study were 25 teachers from 25 elementary schools, and 66 students from 10 elementary schools in Magelang district and Magelang city. The results showed innovation in the development of game applications based on Magelang local wisdom with game features in the form of puzzles of Magelang culture and local wisdom, Indonesian language learning materials packaged in the form of questions accompanied by the number of points in each answer, and audio that reflects local wisdom in Central Java. The novelty of this research is the development of the "benkangen" game based on Magelang local wisdom, which still needs to be developed by teachers in Indonesia. Future research needs to explore the innovation of Indonesian language learning games through the latest software.

Team-assisted individualization (TAI) learning accommodates the primary school students' learning activities through the cooperative and individual learning models. The study aims at investigating students' TAI cooperative and conventional learning models among third-graders' thematic subjects two public primary schools in Klaten district, Indonesia. A quasi-experimental research design was applied by involving 20 experiment and 18 control groups respectively. Data collection used the multiple-choice tests of thematic subjects to measure the third-graders' TAI cooperative and conventional learning in arts, culture, and life skills and Indonesian subjects. Data analysis used a non-parametric statistic to prove the mean difference test in two or more groups, descriptive test, T-tests, Mann Whitney-U test, and N-gain test. The results showed an increase in the experiment group higher than in the control group. However, there was no significant difference between the experiment and control groups after examining the multiple-choice tests. The results supported the thematic subjects of the characteristics of living things in arts, culture, and life skills, and Indonesian teaching since proving the third-graders' learning improvement naturally and objectively. This study concludes that TAI's cooperative and conventional learning models accommodate the learning activities although its implication does not contribute significantly.

Oral folklore tradition is a unique phenomenon in West Borneo. This study aims to gain the lecturer's perspectives and reflection toward its implementation as a project-based activity for encouraging university students to transform local folklore into texts in English. It combines Finnegan's instructional procedure, and Gordon's synectic model and the creative state, which has been defined as creative instruction. Multiple observations and an in-depth interview with the folklore lecturer were conducted for this qualitative investigation. The lecturer is recognized as being exceptionally representative of this study employing purposive sampling under lived experience study because of his proficiency and enthusiasm. Having this creative instruction under supervision makes it clear that there is more room for the student's imagination and creativity to grow throughout this project-based activity. It gives them freedom to freely pursue their interests. Without excluding the possibilities of use in areas where there is still local folklore, this creative instruction is specifically suited for regions that are still rich in oral tradition. Further research is essential, nevertheless, as this study does not go into great detail on the perspectives and involvement among various students, the diversity of cultures and geographies, or the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI).

Opera is considered a significant part of cultural heritage in many societies. In the South African context, opera has a rich history and has contributed to the development of various art forms. Opera has continued to play a significant role in preserving and promoting cultural diversity in South Africa. Opera production contribute to the economy by creating jobs for artists, musicians, technicians, and other professionals. Additionally, opera events can attract tourism and boost local economies. Public funding for opera may be seen as an investment with economic returns. The purpose of this article is to examine the funding of opera in South Africa against the backdrop of a changing cultural landscape. It aims to investigate whether opera should continue to receive funding or if it should be accepted as a fading cultural form. Employing a qualitative approach, ten participants, including opera company managers and artists, share their perspectives through semi-structured interviews. Colaizzi's phenomenological data analysis method reveals key themes of financial viability, challenges, and opportunities. Findings were presented in themes and supported by quotes from research participants. Opera company managers and artists shared valuable insights into financial viability, challenges, and opportunities. Strategic collaborations, revenue diversification, and the pivotal role of public funding emerged as central themes. The findings shed light on the adaptive measures undertaken by stakeholders in response to the changing cultural and financial climate. The conclusion synthesises the key findings, emphasising the resilience of South African opera in the face of funding challenges. It underscores the importance of balancing financial support and cultural acceptance for sustained vitality. The study contributes to ongoing discussions on the intersection of funding, cultural relevance, and the future of opera in South Africa.

This research aims to compare the social studies curricula of Thailand and New York State, USA, analyze their similarities and differences, and propose guidelines for improving the Thai social studies curriculum. The study employed a qualitative research methodology, using documentary analysis of the Thai Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (Revised B.E. 2560) in the social studies, religion, and culture learning area, and the New York State K-12 Social Studies Framework. The findings revealed that the social studies curricula of Thailand and New York State differ in many aspects, including their fundamental philosophies, goals for student development, curriculum structures, learning content, and instructional approaches. The Thai curriculum emphasizes cultivating morally good citizens with a love for the nation, while the New York curriculum focuses on developing knowledgeable, skilled citizens who actively participate in a democratic society. In today's rapidly changing world, the development of Thailand's social studies curriculum should foster 21st-century skills, digital citizenship, and a sense of global citizenship among learners while maintaining Thai identity and values. Policy-level recommendations include creating a new vision, designing a flexible curriculum, developing online platforms, and integrating artificial intelligence. At the practical level, suggestions include creating community learning innovations, using the city as a classroom, developing a competency-based curriculum, and building learning communities with local partners.

Chinese traditional calligraphy is an important part of Chinese culture, with rich cultural value, historical value, artistic value and educational value. Traditional calligraphy art has shown new characteristics in the current era. This research objectives are: 1) to study the historical development and cultural value of Chinese calligraphy; 2) to analyze the current situation and issues of Chinese calligraphy; 3) to identify the way in which inheritance and literacy of Chinese calligraphy art can be protected. This research adopts qualitative methods, collecting field data through literature document, surveys, interviews, observations, and group discussions. Our results summarize the multiple eras through which the historical development of Chinese calligraphy took place. Our study focused on the content and artistic styles of Chinese calligraphy, categorizing its development into four periods; namely (i) Primitive Society to 2070 BC, which is characterized by pictographic writing and primitive symbols, (ii) 2070 BC to 221 BC, the period of formation of written characters and invention of the writing brush and ink, (iii) 221 BC to 589 AD, characterized by the standardization of Xiaozhuan and the invention of papermaking, and (iv) 589 AD to 1905 AD characterized by development and refinement of the five script styles influenced by the imperial examination system. Our results also depict the current situation and problems of Chinese calligraphy and the problems it faces. Finally, the results also show the multiple ways in which Chinese calligraphy could be preserved. As an excellent cultural heritage, traditional Chinese calligraphy art will shine with new light in modern society.

The Chinese Luoyang Quju Opera holds significant cultural importance in Henan Province. Despite its historical richness, this art form confronts challenges amidst modernization and evolving entertainment preferences. This study investigates literacy strategies for preserving and contemporaneously developing the Chinese Luoyang Quju Opera. The research in Luoyang engages performers, educators, and scholars through qualitative methods, such as interviews, field observations, and archival research. The findings underscore the necessity for systematic documentation, scientific preservation techniques, educational integration, governmental backing, and digital platform utilization to sustain this opera. Emphasizing a comprehensive approach to cultural conservation, blending traditional and contemporary methodologies to captivate new generations, the study recommends digital experience centers, social media outreach, curriculum inclusion, community initiatives, and cultural tourism programs. These strategies aim to uphold the enduring legacy of Luoyang Quju Opera in contemporary society.

Qi Lin Lantern Dance is a traditional Chinese cultural practice involving elaborate lantern displays and dance performances. The objective is to investigate the strategies used for literacy preservation of the Qi Lin Lantern Dance in Chinese schools. The study was conducted in Chinese schools, incorporating formal and informal interviews, observations, and focus group discussions. Four key informants, including cultural experts and educators, provided insights into the cultural and educational aspects of the Qi Lin Lantern Dance. Data analysis involved thematic coding and triangulation of multiple data sources. The research results indicate a positive correlation between Qi Lin Lantern Dance preservation and enhanced literacy skills among students, emphasizing the role of cultural engagement in educational practices. Suggestions include integrating cultural practices into school curricula, promoting cultural awareness, and fostering cultural sustainability by preserving intangible cultural heritage.

In this study, we investigated (i) the history, development, and current situation of Dong brocade in the Dong Autonomous County of Passage, Hunan Province, China, from the perspective of the historical development of the Dong ethnic group and (ii) the traditional re-invention of Dong brocade weaving techniques and the re-creation of the traditional educational literacy in the perspective of the intangible cultural heritage protection. This study is qualitative, mainly using the concepts of traditional re-invention and educational literacy, adopting two methods of data collection, namely, documentary research and field survey, and presenting them in the form of descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that the Dong people in China have a long history, and Dong brocade is a product of the social life and ecological environment of the local Dong people. With the development of the times and under different social demands, Dong brocade has been recreated in terms of the production process, raw materials, product types, and traditional education, and the literacy of Dong brocade has also been "recreated." This study explores how to promote the traditional re-creation of Dong brocade from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage protection and how to realize the educational literacy of Dong brocade in various ways with the support of the government, enterprises, and universities. This is of great value to the theoretical study of the living heritage of Dong Brocade and the Chinese government's promotion of the protection and development of minority cultures.

This study delves into the intricate tapestry of Jiarong Tibetan embroidery, exploring its historical development, cultural significance, and educational implications in heritage preservation and sustainable practices. The primary objective of this study was to investigate the historical development and literacy of Jiarong Tibetan Embroidery in education. Conducted in Xiaojin County, known for its cultural significance in Tibetan embroidery, the research employed a multidimensional approach, including a literature review, interviews with key informants such as cultural experts and artisans, and thematic analysis of data collected through surveys, observations, and focus-group discussions. The research uncovered profound insights into the origins of Jiarong Tibetan embroidery, its cultural symbolism, educational pedagogy, market dynamics, and strategies for sustainable development. Based on these findings, the study suggests collaborative efforts among stakeholders to integrate heritage education, promote cultural literacy, and preserve traditional crafts like Jiarong Tibetan embroidery in the face of modern challenges.

Southern Shaanxi, rich in folk song culture, faces significant challenges in preserving its musical heritage due to rapid modernization, technological advancements, and social changes. The primary objective is to investigate the educational literacy development and transmission processes of Chinese folk songs in Southern Shaanxi under contemporary status. The research site encompasses cities like Hanzhong and Ankang, with seven key informants, including folk song practitioners, educators, cultural experts, students, and community members, provided insights through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis was employed to identify patterns and themes related to educational literacy development, transmission processes, and cultural influences. The results indicate that integrating folk songs into educational curricula enhances language acquisition, critical thinking, emotional expression, and cognitive skills while revealing challenges such as the loss of traditional environments, the complexity of singing techniques, and economic constraints. The study suggests embracing technological innovations, fostering community involvement, and implementing supportive policies to sustain the transmission of Chinese folk songs and promote cultural literacy among younger generations.

The Dong Grand Songs, renowned for their polyphonic choral arrangements, are a vital cultural heritage of the Dong ethnic group. This study investigates the contemporary educational approaches to the literacy and development of the Dong Grand Songs in Guangxi, China. Employing a qualitative design, the research includes fieldwork, in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. Key informants comprise school administrators, teachers, song teachers, cultural inheritors, students, and community members. The findings reveal that integrating Dong Grand Song courses into primary and secondary school curricula, with support from song teachers and cultural inheritors, effectively enhances musical literacy and preserves this tradition. However, challenges such as youth migration, modern entertainment influences, and the aging population of song masters threaten the continuity of this cultural heritage. The study suggests comprehensive approaches, including economic support for rural areas, increased public awareness, and sustainable cultural programs, are necessary to address these challenges. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and cultural practitioners on preserving intangible cultural heritage and promoting musical literacy through education.

This study aims to examine the opinions of Religious Culture and Ethics Teachers (RCET) on mobbing in the workplace. The research focuses on RCET's definition of mobbing, the reasons for mobbing, the results of mobbing, and the suggestions of RCET to prevent mobbing. This study used the phenomenological method, one of the qualitative research methods. The data obtained from the interview forms were analyzed by the content analysis method. The findings were organized and presented under themes and sub-themes. The study group of the research was determined by a systematic sampling technique, one of the probability-based sampling methods. The study group of the research consisted of 35 RCET working in the middle schools of Mersin central districts in the 2023-2024 academic years. Findings revealed that participants defined the concept of mobbing using terms such as pressure, violence, distress, attack, discomfort, implication, and exposure. It was found that participants expressed reasons for mobbing, such as establishing dominance, jealousy, inadequacy, and conflict of interest. It was determined that participants indicated the results of mobbing, such as asynchrony, inefficiency, failure, resignation, reluctance, and fear-anxiety. The participants suggested solutions such as support, awareness activities, relationships and communication, knowledge of legislation and laws, equality, responsibility, trust, problem identification, solution orientation, and providing education. Many educators face challenges with online learning since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Online modalities became common in world language courses; however, challenges remain in creating communicative contexts. This study examined university student perceptions of an experiential learning sequence using films in Spanish and French at the intermediate level in an asynchronous online environment. Students were required to watch a movie and complete activities related to language and culture learning goals, followed by an in-depth survey about the experience. Participants expressed positive perceptions of the activities, finding them helpful in increasing interest and motivation, as well as in expanding their thinking and knowledge about course topics. These findings demonstrate the importance of experiential learning to build student-centered communities of language and culture learning in the asynchronous classroom.

Each August, Sugpiaq Elders, community members, and educators gather in Cape Alitak to host Akhiok Kids Camp, a week-long culture camp that provides a space for local Sugpiaq youth to learn and carry forward traditional lifeways and promotes youth's self-esteem, identity, and healthy choices. This article traces the legacy of the camp and outlines its ongoing vision and curriculum, including the Indigenous values and principles of education that guide camp activities. Of particular focus is the role of camp in fostering Sugpiaq youth's sense of connectedness to their homelands, waters, community, and culture, a focus that promotes healing, cultural resurgence, and wellbeing for Sugpiaq youth. This description of Akhiok Kids Camp highlights the valuable role that culture camps play in turning Indigenous youth toward the brilliance of their lands and lifeways, and the importance of respecting the knowledge and leadership of Indigenous families in this work.

In this paper, we propose novel transdisciplinary STEAM practices to enable students and teachers to model architecture using technology. Architectural modelling can foster students' mathematical knowledge and computational thinking while connecting them to other disciplines such as culture and history. Our study focuses on enabling architectural, cultural, and historical diversity in educational practices. Moreover, the study tries to foster participants' modelling skills and innovative technology use as augmented reality and 3D printing. Thus, this paper will describe three case studies from Austria, Libya, and Indonesia and how these STEAM practices were used in different ways to allow participants to express their diversities through modelling diverse architectural constructions cross-culturally. We followed a qualitative data analysis approach for the participants' interviews, questionnaires and artefacts including architectural modelling, disciplines connections and lesson plans. The data analysis resulted in emerging themes emphasizing STEAM practices' possibilities to connect architecture to culture and history and highlighting the participants' cultural diversities in each of the three case studies.

This research aims to analyze global diversity values present in Indonesian language textbooks for fourth-grade elementary school students. The study employs a qualitative approach with content analysis as the method. The research objects consist of four textbooks published by Erlangga, Yudistira, Bumi Aksara, and Puskurbuk Kemdikbudristek. The analysis process involves selecting relevant material samples, developing analytical categories, coding the content, and interpreting emerging patterns. The research findings indicate that the Indonesian language textbooks for fourth-grade elementary school students provide activities and experiences that enrich their understanding of cultural diversity in Indonesia. Students are taught to develop attitudes of tolerance and intercultural communication, as well as reflection and responsibility towards diversity. These books contribute to shaping students who are inclusive, tolerant, and capable of communicating in a multicultural environment, embodying the values of global diversity character. The importance of fostering global diversity character in primary school students is highlighted through education, particularly using meticulously designed Indonesian language textbooks. These textbooks introduce students to various aspects of Indonesian and other cultures, promoting understanding, appreciation, and tolerance for cultural diversity. Emphasizing character development, the textbooks instruct students in intercultural communication and encourage interactions with culturally diverse peers, fostering effective communication skills for multicultural environments. Furthermore, students are prompted to reflect on their own multicultural experiences, shaping their global perspectives. In summary, Indonesian language textbooks serve as a vital resource in shaping students into inclusive, tolerant individuals proficient in effective communication within multicultural contexts.

Chengdu's popular music, with its profound historical and cultural significance, serves as an educational resource at the intersection of music, literacy, and cultural education. This research aims to propose guidelines for the teaching resource of Chengdu popular music for fostering literacy and cultural education. Located in the culturally diverse Sichuan Province, Chengdu boasts a rich tapestry of musical traditions, from folk to hip-hop, making it an ideal research site. Two key informants, experts in folk and hip-hop music, provide valuable insights into Chengdu's musical evolution. Data analysis involves thematic analysis of questionnaires and interviews, offering a comprehensive understanding of the city's music culture. The study reveals Chengdu's historical role as a cultural crossroads and the evolution of its pop music into a distinctive force within China's music landscape. Advocating for the integration of Chengdu popular music into educational curricula, this research emphasizes the need for well-structured teaching resources to capture its cultural authenticity. The benefits of cultural education include fostering diversity appreciation, enhancing cultural understanding, promoting literacy skills, cultivating emotional intelligence, strengthening cultural identity, and inspiring creativity and expression. Chengdu popular music offers a transformative approach to fostering cultural literacy, empowering students to thrive in a globalized world.

Huai Opera is a traditional Chinese operatic form known for its distinctive vocal techniques,melodic tunes, and captivating storytelling, originating from the Huai River region in China. Thestudy's primary objective is to investigate vocal technique literacy in Huai Opera for school-based musicians education in Shanghai Municipality, China. Anchored in musicology and ethnomusicology, this research is conducted within the School of Huai Opera, encompassing the Southern and Northern Schools, known for their distinctive regional influences and vocal styles. Two key informants,a seasoned Huai Opera performer and vocal instructor and an accomplished ethnomusicologist,lend their unique insights to shed light on the multifaceted nature of vocal technique literacy inHuai Opera education. The structured interviews and systematic observations that were used tocollect data are carefully analyzed to show the different breathing techniques, vocal techniques, and rhythms that makeup Huai Opera's vocal technique literacy curriculum. The study's finding sunderscore the significance of integrating traditional arts into contemporary education systems to preserve cultural heritage and enrich students' educational experiences. It emphasizes the need for innovative pedagogical approaches and highlights the role of traditional arts in nurturing cultural engagement among youth.

Many values and values that are founded on culture and culture play an essential role in understanding societies and transferring the existence of those societies to future generations. There are national heroes of each culture with valuable points, differences, and similarities from its history or its history to the present day. With these similarities, differences and cultural values, each society carries itself to a different point from other societies. There are various methods in the cultural education of societies, and the success of these methods gives results in proportion to the number of people they can achieve. Television programs and television play an essential role in mass education. The Turkish series sector usually carries traces of national identity and cultural values. Turkish series often reflect Turkey's historical, cultural and social values. Turkish series reflecting local traditions and customs usually offer cultural education to the audience. Traditional clothes, language use, and food culture elements are frequently processed in series. In addition, the transfer of historical events and cultural heritage is frequently included in these series. In these aspects, Turkish series play an important role in increasing the cultural awareness of society and protecting national identity. The Turkish series sector and cultural education, together with the traces of identity and cultural education in terms of the Magnificent Century series descriptive analysis and indicator scientific method, were examined with examples. When scientific methods examine descriptive analysis and indicators, many elements such as historical events, cultural structures, clothes, language use and traditional lifestyles are found. This study will discuss the educational relationship by analyzing the' Magnificent Century' series.

The American Folklife Center, Library of Congress, houses the works of the ethnomusicologist Frances Theresa Densmore, including a collection of more than 2,500 American Indian songs she recorded between 1907 and 1941. Approximately 260 of Densmore's cataloged recordings were made at the Standing Rock Reservation in the Dakotas between 1911 and 1914. These wax cylinder recordings made over a century ago are a voice from the past that still speaks to the Lakota people today. Densmore's work, along with other available ethnographic materials, represent an opportunity for reclaiming heritage and culture, and for teaching difficult or unknown histories. Teaching with primary sources reveals very complex influences--gender, gender roles, familial relationships, language barriers, language translation, changes in technology for good or bad, politics, and, above all, reclamation and hope for a voice to be heard--that shape and guide those very materials. These influences are revealed to great extent in the groundbreaking work that ensued with the original Lakota and Dakota songs Densmore recorded and with the current Densmore Repatriation Project, repatriating the music back to the Lakota.

This study use the qualitative research approach to collect a vast quantity of data via field inquiry and to classify and statistically analyze the data acquired. The objectives were to 1) examine the contemporary state of Qin'an Xiaoqu singing. 2) Analyze the inheritance of Qin'an Xiaoqu's singing. The study's findings are as follows: 1) The current status of Qin'an Xiaoqu. With the utmost attention of the Qin'an County People's Government. Since the 1980s, Qin'an Xiaoqu has gradually expanded to the important stages of counties, cities, provinces, and the nation. Based on the accomplishments listed above, Qin'an Xiaoqu's development is relatively positive. According to the artist interviews, the majority are affected by others around them. 2) Qin'an Xiaoqu's inheritance status extends to various middle schools and elementary schools in Qin'an. Most students can sing adequately. Currently, the Qin'an County Government and the Qin'an County Cultural Center are hosting the "Intangible Cultural Heritage" event with the intention of fostering a strong environment in which the entire community can participate, pay attention to, and preserve and pass on excellent traditional culture.

Focusing on two beginner Italian courses, this study demonstrates participants' perceptions of and engagement with social justice topics and materials in a semester-long project. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of surveys, triangulated with interviews and artifacts, such as comments by students during lessons and in their video responses, provide us with a better understanding of students' previous expectations, perceptions and experiences with learning Italian; their background knowledge on social justice; and their reactions to the activities implemented throughout the course. Our findings indicate that learners value classroom activities and learning tools that allow them to share, collaborate, and reflect together. As a result of their engagement with multiliteracies approaches and social justice materials, most learners changed their perceptions of Italy and Italian identities. Most of them went through a transformation to altered frames of reference, changing their mind-sets, habits and meaning perspectives. Implications include discussions on offering learners space for critical reflection on social scenarios that can lead to increased engagement, sense of belonging, and unique transformative experiences.

Ram Tone is a traditional play that is unique to Thailand. It is a popular folk play in all regions of Thailand and has been popular since ancient times. Ram Tone is a band dance with male and female dancers dancing in a circle, accompanied by tone, cymbaling, and Krab. The objective of the present study is to learn more about Ram Tone's literacy preservation and knowledge transmission in Mahasarakham Province, Thailand. The information is offered by knowledgeable individuals, practitioners, and general informants through qualitative research methods, including preliminary surveys, interviews, and observations. The researchers assessed the data for accuracy, evaluated the data in relation to the desired objectives, and presented the study findings using descriptive analysis. The results of this study show that the Kantharawichai District and Mahasarakham Province have acquired knowledge and built on their indigenous wisdom through the development of the Ram Tone dancing stance and educational curriculum.

The Guqin is a string instrument that has been played in China for over 3,000 years. It is famous for its meditative, soothing sound and is frequently associated with Confucianism, Taoism, and Chinese literati culture. The instrument has seven strings that can be plucked with a plectrum or with the fingers. The Guqin's sound is said to resemble a gentle breeze blowing through the trees, and it is frequently used in Chinese music to evoke feelings of tranquility and introspection. This study was conducted by statistically analyzing field research data and making recommendations for their educational status. In this study, samples of local Guqin musical instruments were selected, and a field study was carried out for the three local Guqin musical instrument groups, the Guangling sect, the Jiuyi sect, and the Yushan sect. The questionnaire was administered to 180 participants and included a literature analysis. The results of this study show that the province of Guizhou is home to a diverse collection of peoples, and the art of the Guqin is being modernized and incorporated to produce a form of art that the general populace appreciates. It is possible to make innovations and explore ways to form an ensemble using Guqin, Guzheng, Dizi, and other ethnic instruments, hold various Guqin concerts and art festivals, and engage in cultural and artistic exchanges. Guqin music will be celebrated at an increasing number of festivals in the future.

Character and cultural education has in important role in growing and developing the noble values of a nation. Character education in school can be means of civilizing and humanizing so that the goals of character education can be achieved. One of the link between culture and character education is ethnomathematics. However, there is still a lack of relevant teaching materials and it makes not optimal. Therefore, the implementation of cultural and educational linkages can be developed in a teaching material. The purpose of this research was to determine students' responses to the ethnomathematics of puppet teaching materials as part of the stages of character education-based development. The type of the research is descriptive quantitative. The population of the research is junior high school students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The number of samples used were 260 students in which the criteria for 130 students are low learning achievements (Group 1) and the other 130 students are good learning achievements (Group 2). The instruments used in this research were application of ethnomathematical and student response through questionnaires. The results showed that in G1 with the low performance, the material in the application was very easy to learn and very useful. In addition, they are also satisfied with the use of the application. Meanwhile, G2 with good learning achievement feel that the application is very useful, very easy to learn and they are very satisfied with the application. Then based on the results of statistical tests, it was obtained that G1 and G2 showed that differences in learning achievement did not affect student responses to the learning process through Puppet ethnomathematics android application based on character education. All the Puppet characters have religious, disciplined, hard work, passion, and love for the homeland.

In this study, the effect of Online Learning and Digital Conversation-Based Activities method on students' achievement, attitudes and perceptions of cultural values in language and literature courses was examined. The study group consisted of 2 branches studying in the 3rd grade of a high school in Astana province in the 2022 academic year. 64 high school third grade students participated in the study. In the study in which quasi-experimental research model was used, post-test control group design was used. In this context, Online Learning And Digital Conversation-Based Activities in the experimental group and traditional teaching activities in the control group were applied for 6 weeks. As a result, when the two classes were considered independently of each other, it was found that the students in the group applying the Online Learning And Digital Conversation-Based Activities program achieved higher academic achievement, attitude towards the course and cultural value perception gains compared to their peers in the control group.

Background and Aim: Promoting the development of international education is an important international education trend in the world today. It has had or is having a far-reaching impact on the education of all countries in the world, whether it is formal education or non-formal education (Gu, M., 2020). The "Course Plan for Technicians in Museums and Exhibition Halls" is mentioned in the book "Classification of International Education Standards" prepared by the UNESCO Education Statistics Bureau (1998). It can be seen that as early as the initial stage of international education development, the international education undertakings responsible for education, cultural inheritance, and exchange have attracted long-term attention to the museum industry. The combination of international education and museum display education can develop the way of international education, improve the exchange channels of international education, use the intuition and authenticity of museum display education, and improve the communication channels and paths of Chinese culture, which is an important way to improve the soft power of modern countries. Materials and Methods: This study uses descriptive research methods and attribute classification methods to try to classify garden cultural relics. The descriptive research method is simple. It interprets existing phenomena, laws, and theories through its understanding and verification, raises questions in a targeted way, and reveals the drawbacks. The law of attribute classification takes the social and scientific and cultural attributes of cultural relics as the standard to classify cultural relics. That is, the classification method is based on the nature of cultural relics. Cultural relics are the relics of human social activities and have cultural attributes. Therefore, when using the attribute classification method, this study clarifies the use and deep meaning of cultural relics to accurately confirm their nature, and then carry out research. Results: The development of international education is the evolution trend of education for the world and the public. Make good use of the current museum public service facilities education platform to build good communication and communication channels, which is conducive to the development of international education. Conclusion: Based on the existing collection classification principles and characteristics, we will innovate the classification display method, make new attempts to improve the classification display education method, and build a collection classification system in line with the functional positioning, collection attributes, and development planning of the library. It is a useful attempt to combine international education with museum education and museum classification to improve the mode of museum education, implement the essence of the curriculum plan of international education development museums and exhibition halls into specific practical work, and enrich the content of museum education through new exhibition classification.

Chinese Tujia folk songs, deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Tujia ethnic group, serve as a living repository of history, values, and traditions. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the historical development of education and cultural literacy in Chinese Tujia working songs in Chongqing. The comprehensive literature review provides insights into the history of the Tujia ethnic group, their musical heritage, and contemporary challenges to preserving their cultural traditions. The research site includes Youyang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Shizhu Tujia Autonomous County, Pengshui Tujia, and Miao Autonomous County, and Qianjiang District. Key informants, including accomplished artists, academic researchers, and local experts, share their invaluable insights related to the preservation and performance of Tujia folk songs. By using the principles of music aesthetics, music ethnology, and ancient Chinese music history. The result of this study underscores the critical importance of preserving intangible cultural heritage, especially in the context of today's rapid modernization and globalization. They highlight those traditional folk songs, like Chinese Tujia working songs, hold immense cultural and historical value. The study also provides actionable recommendations for ensuring the continued vitality of these culturally rich songs. These suggestions can guide efforts to integrate Tujia folk songs into educational curricula, support local musicians and artists, and promote cultural events.

This study focuses on the literacy transmission guideline for preserving "Xin Tian You" folk songs in Northern Shaanxi, China. The purpose of the research is to explore effective strategies and approaches to enhance the transmission and preservation of this cultural heritage. Key informants for this study consist of scholar informants, casual informants, and general informants who possess knowledge and experience in "Xin Tian You" folk songs. The data analysis involves fieldwork, interviews, and questionnaires to gather qualitative data, which are analyzed to identify patterns and trends. The research findings highlight the impact of socio-cultural changes on the transmission and preservation of "Xin Tian You," as well as the importance of strengthening support, embracing innovation, preserving and disseminating the songs, increasing publicity, and media coordination. The study concludes that by implementing these strategies and fostering literacy transmission, "Xin Tian You" can be preserved and transmitted to future generations, contributing to the cultural heritage of Northern Shaanxi and the development of traditional folk music in China.

Rongshui Han folk songs, symbolic of Liuzhou's ethnic culture, hold significant cultural value in transmitting history and traditions. However, contemporary scholars have limited attention, requiring further exploration and research. The objective of this study was to propose guidelines for promoting literacy transmission and education through Rongshui Han folk songs in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China. This is a qualitative study that includes relevant literature research, surveys, interviews, and transcriptions. This information is drawn from the research of two scholar informants and four informal informants. Analyze data from Rongshui Han, Miao, and Zhuang folk songs, focusing on their cultural significance and historical context. The result of this study shows that the government plays a crucial role in promoting and safeguarding Rongshui Han folk songs for literacy transmission education. Emphasizing their unique attributes and leveraging their inherent advantages is essential. Nurturing younger generations and investing in training initiatives are crucial. Online media platforms can further broaden the dissemination of Rongshui Han folk songs for the preservation and propagation of this intangible cultural heritage. Increase awareness and understanding of local ethnic culture while engaging youth in cultural preservation and transmitting folk song traditions.

Nanyin, a traditional Chinese music genre originating from Fujian Province, China, encompasses a wide range of singing and instrumental playing techniques. This study aims to analyze the historical development and performance form of Nanyin in Quanzhou, Fujian, China, employing an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates musicology, ethnomusicology, historical musicology, and organology, the study aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of Nanyin and its relevance to cultural studies and heritage education. Key informants, interviews, and observations were utilized as primary research tools, and a systematic data analysis approach was employed. The research results emphasize the enduring popularity and recognition of Nanyin. Nanyin's development is traced through different periods, highlighting its ancient origins, fusion with diverse musical influences, professionalization, and contemporary revitalization. The performance forms of Nanyin encompass various styles, including duet singing, chorus singing, enchant singing, rotating singing, and group singing, demonstrating the artistic versatility and expressive capabilities of this cultural heritage. The research findings align with theoretical principles in the field of musicology and contribute to a deeper understanding of Nanyin's cultural significance and its role in preserving China's traditional culture.

The study focuses on the concept composition and literacy transmission of the clarinet folk song "Pamir Zhiyin," with a particular focus on the intricate relationship between literacy, education, and cultural transmission within the realm of music. Furthermore, there is a profound connection to the historical development of clarinet music in China, spanning a period of one hundred years. The Tajik minority residing on the Pamir Plateau is known for its significant contribution to the realm of folk music, characterized by the intricate fusion of Western classical methods and Tajik cultural elements. The composer Hu Bi Jing derives creative inspiration from the depiction of Tajik wedding scenes, so capturing the essence of connection inherent in the institution of marriage. This study highlights the importance of education, reading, and the transfer of information in molding the discipline of clarinet playing, improving musical literacy, and promoting cultural transmission in China. The case of "Pamir Zhiyin" serves as a prime illustration of how music serves as a manifestation of cultural variety and collective experiences.

The present study aimed to determine whether using culture-themed documentaries in Turkish teaching of B2 level international students has effects on the development of guided writing skills. The study had an action-research design, which is one of the qualitative study approaches. The study group consisted of 12 international students at the B2 level who learned Turkish in the 2022-2023 academic year at the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center of a state university in Turkey. The data collection process was performed under two headings as "developing an action plan" and "implementing the action plan". During the developing an action plan stage, the themes and documentaries to be used in the activities were determined by receiving the opinions of the experts. In the next step, guided writing activities were prepared in line with the writing acquisitions by consulting experts. The pilot applications of the activities were performed at the Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center of a state university in Turkey. Quantitative and qualitative data collection tools were used and the developmental status of the students was monitored to interpret how the guided writing skill activities developed in the classroom environment progressed. The worksheets of the students were evaluated by using the "Guided Writing Scoring Key", which was developed by the researchers. Students' pre-test, application order, post-test, and permanency scores were determined with this key. Based on the findings obtained in the study, it was concluded that using culture-themed documentaries in Turkish teaching of international students improved the guided writing skill levels of the students.

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an innovative approach which attempts to comprise holistic features, focusing on the meaning and at the same time providing opportunities for purposeful language use (Dalton-Puffer, 2007). Based on the triptych language of learning, language for learning and language through learning- this program aims at creating innovative educational escape rooms, in order to adopt CLIL, to develop skills in the target language (English) and at the same time to emphasize context and meaning. The program -designed for 5th grade students of a Primary School in Northern Greece was piloted for 5 months, giving them the opportunity to "travel to Greek neighborhoods" and engaging them in the subjects of geography, history and culture, using English, -with great enthusiasm. Various web2 tools, videos, games, websites were incorporated in the escape rooms to provide authentic material so as to enhance authentic communication in the English language and also to use different types of context so as to support language and content knowledge. The program was assessed and evaluated using alternative ways and the results indicated the positive effects of CLIL on the students' skills in English (TL) along with the significantly developed familiarization with the content through a creative, enthusiastic, motivating setting for students promoting active involvement and participation.

The importance of multiculturalism in education in general and in academic institutions for teacher training in particular, it receives a lot of attention in the academic-educational research field. Most of the studies held in Israel about teacher training accompanied by a multicultural approach as part of an educational concept discussed the distinction between the attitudes of students from different cultural groups or their achievements; Others proposed models for multicultural education or contented themselves with raising awareness of the need to design models. This study seeks to propose an interventional concept oriented to situation assessment and well planned within the framework of diverse lessons as part of a pragmatic tool -- applicable that seeks to educate for intercultural care and cultural competence. To examine these training processes, the qualitative paradigm was chosen by the activation of an action research that continued within the framework of a course called: "Education for ambassadors for a shared life" that was prepared in advance after a careful assessment of the situation and divided into structured steps. 10 female teaching students participated in the study: 6 Jewish and 4 Bedouin Muslim women, residents of the southern region of the State of Israel. The students wrote reflections and were asked to formulate a joint educational project. The results of the study emphasize the importance of learning the mutual culture as a tool that produces closeness and reducing stereotypes; Understanding the need to take mutual cultural responsibility as future teachers and citizens; Collaborative learning spaces of this type create a safe educational space for self-expression and presentation of personal and cultural identity. Cultural sublimation and a sense of belonging were also expressed. All the participants recognize the importance of the topic and the need to learn.

The Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning program at the Community College of Baltimore County collects reflections from workshop participants for each training module. The purpose of these reflections is twofold: firstly, for participants to examine their personal connection to the theories we present and secondly, for participants to examine how they can utilize the theories and activities in their classrooms and institutions. In this article we describe the results from analyzing reflections from participants across 3 different educational institutions since 2020. The overall results showed that participants were at different points in their personal cultural competency journeys, and that they gained practical tools to help students along their own cultural competency journeys.

Thanks to technological advances, migration, and globalization, English has become the language of internationalization. Therefore, many schools prioritized learning English to ensure and sustain international communication. However, in order to communicate well with individuals all around the world, bestowing English language learners with intercultural competence is also required in the teaching and learning of English. In Türkiye, one of the countries that host many immigrants, the experiences of foreign language teachers regarding intercultural issues might provide many insights into intercultural language learning and teaching. Therefore, this study aimed to expose EFL state schoolteachers' perceptions and practices regarding intercultural language teaching and having foreign students in their classrooms. The methods that teachers adopted to promote intercultural competence in their classes were also explored. The semi-structured interviews were carried out with 30 English language teachers in middle and high schools in Türkiye. For data analysis, the computer program MAXQDA was benefited to categorize the codes and reveal the common themes. The findings revealed certain teacher practices that might contribute to students' intercultural competence development and challenges experienced during that process. It can be concluded that teachers are in need of professional guidance and resources to further develop their learners' intercultural competence.

Purpose: The Canadian university where this study took place has established an international exchange program in teacher education with a large Chinese university. This study was designed to examine how the international exchange program influenced Chinese science teacher candidates' understanding of science education and how such learning impacted their teaching in China. Design/Approach/Methods: The study adopted a qualitative research design with interview and reflective journal as the main approaches for data collection. Findings: Participants greatly appreciated the opportunity of exchange. They reported an improved understanding of Canadian school education and its science curriculum and pedagogy, which changed many aspects of their original values about the relationship between the teacher and students, classroom environment, and so on. Although they faced many constraints to implement what they learned from the exchange in Chinese science classrooms, what they learned had never been forgotten. Participants tried to apply them here and there at the level they could control. Originality/Value: There are many reported studies in the literature about Chinese international students on Western campuses. However, research on Chinese students who participate in international exchange programs is very rare. The findings of this study can inform policymakers and education practitioners about student international exchange programs and benefit future exchange participants.

The ability to adapt and thrive in an unfamiliar cultural context is incrementally becoming vital. Therefore, universities aim to create an environment to enhance students' cultural intelligence (CQ). This study aimed to detect English as a foreign language (EFL) learners' CQ in a state university in Turkey and discern their strengths and weaknesses in intercultural communication. The study employed the CQ scale to detect learners' CQ, and open-ended questions to unearth strengths and weaknesses. SPSS was run for quantitative analysis, whereas MAXQDA was tapped for qualitative data analysis. The results indicated high values for students' metacognitive, motivational, and behavioural CQ, albeit learners' cognitive CQ was moderate. There was no significant difference between the CQ of male and female students. Moreover, the overseas experience did not have a significant influence on their CQ. However, there was a significant difference in the cognitive CQ of students at different proficiency levels. Qualitative analysis revealed learners' strengths, such as communication and adaptation skills, and an interest in diverse cultures. However, learners' scant knowledge of different cultures and low language proficiency were significant problems impeding learners' intercultural communication. The implications of the study might provide insight for stakeholders to raise students' CQ in educational spheres.

Purpose: This article provides an overview of how childhood curriculum in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is designed to serve cultural values. Design/Approach/Methods: The framework of kindergarten curriculum adopts the uniqueness of children laying the foundation for their cultural identity. This paper provides a description of how this is achieved through a case study of the kindergarten curriculum in the UAE. Findings: The core elements of Emirati culture are delivered in the early childhood education (ECE) curriculum, which is influenced by global practices. Islamic studies is a key component in the Emirati kindergarten curriculum, which is designed to help children practice principles of religion, with the main Islamic values of gratitude and charity as aspects that are deeply embedded. Similarly, through social studies, children learn about Emirati heritage and culture. In addition to exposure to world communities, the learning experience engages children in authentic stories that relate to their personal lives, families, and community to build national awareness. Originality/Value: This paper sheds light on ECE in the UAE. Although the topic is of interest to UAE policymakers and educators and the global audience interested in UAE education, there is no study to the researcher's best knowledge that has examined the influence of the UAE culture on ECE curriculum.

While Montana teachers are tasked with including American Indian culture when teaching science, barriers exist, such as no knowledge of American Indian cultures or low efficacy for teaching science. In an exploratory study, survey responses were collected from elementary (K-8) preservice teachers in a science methods course about their perspective of teaching science, specifically including American Indian culture. Results highlight three major structures (past culture, current community, and higher education) that support preservice teachers' feelings of confidence when integrating American Indian culture in their future teaching. These structures are critical since most elementary preservice teachers shared discomfort or fear at the idea of including American Indian culture when teaching. As such, higher education can be a starting point to building critical understandings of American Indian culture when teaching science.

This paper seeks to identify the teaching strategies used in Grade 4 Culture and Heritage lessons in a Chinese-Filipino School. Further, it is important to effectively address these with constructivist-based teaching strategies to help maximize the learning experience. This study used qualitative method where Ethnographic research design and Descriptive method were used to conduct classroom observations. The instruments used to obtain the results were patterned and modified from Craig Kissock's (1981) Curriculum Planning for Social Studies Teaching: A Cross-cultural Approach, a self-made Teachers' Self-evaluation form and Peer Observation form participated by nine teachers of a Chinese-Filipino School in Quezon City, Philippines. The analysis of the results identified five teaching strategies with Discussion and Lecture strategy as the most applied alongside Game strategy, Question and Answer strategy, and Project method. Other activities that strengthened the Culture and Heritage awareness were integrated through a collaborative effort with other subject areas. As a result, the study supported that Social Development theory affects the teaching-learning process where opportunities for social interaction helps in the development of a child. Using various teaching strategies encouraged students to interact with one another, to freely express their thoughts, and to participate in fun and healthy competition. It also encouraged students to think and to unleash their creativity and imagination. At the same time, the use of tools and other resources helped increase student engagement.

Much of the current available literature on leisure characterizes it as an additional consumer good: a derivative of capitalist society, featured as a commodity and, for the most part, an industry. This paper argues that recovering the concept of leisure from the ancients, with a contemporary focus on culture and the practice of living artfully, will help us create a new understanding of leisure that will break free from the reigning popular focus on "free time." The concept of leisure (scholé) will here be set against an existential backdrop that will situate it entirely within the realm of education, to reveal important connections to what it means to be an educated self and to lead a flourishing collective life in the form of culture. This discussion will conclude with a portrait of the concept that will be of interest to democracy-oriented educators, as we set the groundwork for actualizing the concept in the practice and lives of teachers and students in today's world.

The article critiques two cases of cultural appropriations and explores how educators can pedagogically counter practices that normalize cultural appropriations. By examining the visual representations of Cinco de Mayo and Sherpa communities, the article illustrates how cultural appropriation often takes place through marketplace and race-neutral ideologies. The article proposes how the use of decolonizing pedagogies can counter racial stereotypes and neo/colonial knowledge productions. By examining the stereotypes, it explores how marginalized communities, locally and globally, continue to be appropriated for mainstream white consumption within curriculums. Lastly, the article explores how appropriation and commodification harm, objectify and exploit people/ communities that have historically been marginalized.
