Mo2AlB2 is a lamellar transition metal boride that is prepared by selectively etching the MoAlB MAB phase precursor. Most methods for synthesizing Mo2AlB2 require the use of strong acids or bases and a long reaction time. In this study, we present a Lewis acid molten salt method for synthesizing the lamellar structured Mo2AlB2 by selectively etching a layer of aluminium atoms from the MoAlB precursor. The synthesized Mo2AlB2 shows excellent catalytic activity for hydrogen evolution reaction under alkaline conditions, with long-term stability, and a low overpotential of 145 mV and Tafel slope of 76 mV dec−1 at 10 mA cm−2. Mo2AlB2 was synthesized through a novel molten salt method of etching MoAlB, resulting in exceptional HER catalytic performance in alkaline conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The emerging flexible electronic devices have stimulated the development of flexible batteries, in which flexible electrodes are indispensable components. Graphene, known for its excellent electrical conductivity and mechanical stability, can be used as an ideal flexible substrate. Recently, many efforts have been devoted to graphene‐based electrodes for flexible batteries. Herein, this review summarizes recent advances in the development of graphene‐based electrodes for various flexible batteries, including metal‐ion batteries (ions of Li, Na, Zn, Al, etc.), lithium‐sulfur batteries, and metal‐air batteries (Li‐ and Zn‐air batteries). Exploring suitable anode electrode materials possess excellent rate performance, long cycle stability and high specific capacity are challenging targets for the development of sodium-ion batteries. Herein, we report a NASICON-structure Mn0.5Ti2(PO4)3, which was synthesized by simple sol–gel means and applied as an anode material for sodium-ion battery for the first time. The electrode is found to enable fast Na+ diffusion owing to the rich crystallographic vacancies, performing a initial discharge specific capacity of 201.7 mA h g− 1 at the voltage range of 2.0 and 0.01 V. In particular, the hybrid Mn0.5Ti2(PO4)3@reduction oxide graphene exhibits remarkable rate performance, retaining discharge specific capacity of nearly 60 mA h g− 1 while the current density increased to 2 A g− 1. The excellent electrochemical properties could be attributed to the reasonable porous structure of Mn0.5Ti2(PO4)3@reduction oxide graphene brought about by the high conductivity, this structure observably increased diffusion coefficient of the electrode material. Wireless-charging in-plane microbatteries (MBs) with conformal shape and high-capacity hold substantial promise in advancing the practical applications of complexly configured electronic devices. However, integrating these MBs seamlessly with flexible electronic system remains a challenge as it requires a rational structure design and reasonable materials engineering for the micropower system, ensuring both high compatibility and robust mechanical stability. Here, we present stretchable and wireless-charging dual-plating MBs that integrate seamlessly into circuits through an omnidirectional stretch-contraction strategy coupled with mask-assisted printing. The strain-induced folding structures and no active-material design endow the wireless-charging MBs with reliable deformation-tolerant capabilities, which can sustain ~200% omnidirectional strains and have advantages of an order of magnitude in terms of power and energy densities, compared to the existing in-plane MBs. With the exceptional compatible and elastic properties, a wirelessly charging stretchable display integrated circuit and even intelligent electronic skin are achieved, capable of mimicking human touch to sense the weight, temperature, and shape of objects.
