Abstract

We propose a magnetic laser in a subwavelength system consisting of a high-refractive-index dielectric cavity and an active medium formed by magnetic quantum emitters. Stimulated emissions of magnetic quantum emitters induced by their coherent interactions with quantized magnetic fields of a cavity are theoretically considered. The condition to archive such a magnetic laser is obtained. Numerical results show that magnetic lasers are feasible in some realistic systems, for example, a silicon disk of high-quality whispering gallery modes with embedded emitters. Furthermore, the competitions between the electric interaction and magnetic one in terms of their Purcell factors are also considered in some magnetic laser achievable systems. In a wavelength-scale silicon block of a high-order magnetic mode, the ratio of magnetic Purcell factor to the electric one can reach more than ~10^3 large. 2. Strong Superradiance of Coherently Coupled Magnetic Dipole Emitters Mediated by Whispering Gallery Modes of a Subwavelength All-Dielectric Cavity

Abstract

The interaction of magnetic dipole (MD) emitters and common photonic cavities is usually weak, which is partially due to the low magnetic near field enhancements of the cavities. Here, we show that whispering gallery modes (WGMs) of a subwavelength dielectric cavity can not only greatly boost the emission rate of a MD emitter but also bring efficient couplings between coherent MD emitters. In a WGM cavity, the maximal emission rate ({\gamma}max) of a single emitter occurs at an antinode of the field pattern. The emission of the MD emitter can also be greatly affected by another coherent one depending on the magnetic field response of the WGM. The maximal contribution can also reach {\gamma}max. Notably, the cooperative emission rate of the coherent MD emitters does not decay with distance in the considered range due to the high-quality feature of a WGM. In contrast to the emission, the absorption of an emitter is hardly affected by the coherent couplings between emitters mediated by a WGM. The difference between the performances of emission and absorption is highly related to the excitation behaviors of WGMs. Our results are important for enhanced magnetic light-matter interactions., Comment: 26 pages, 6 figures

Abstract

It is an effective method to improve the performance of inertial instrument and the accuracy of inertial navigation system by analyzing the random drift of FOG (Fiber Optic Gyro). Allan variance FOG random error analysis method, through analyze and compare Allan variance of the original data, you can correctly evaluate the gyroscope performance indicators. In this paper, we introduce the several different random error analysis method of FOG based on Allan variance, and analyze the different Allan variance of the same group by writing the program, and more, compare the three common quantities of the FOG random error model. The results show that the modified Allan variance method obviously takes a lot of time in the processing time, but the "2k" Allan variance law is calculated more quickly. In the processing effect, the modified Allan variance method can get better calculation results. In general, the "k" Allan variance method and the smooth Allan variance method are more balanced in the computational time and the computational effect. Several Allan variance methods can effectively identify the random error components of FOG, in the actual situation, according to different conditions of use to choose the appropriate treatment.

Abstract

Background: To evaluate the influence of the progonistic nutritional index (PNI) and weight loss on metastasis and long-term mortality in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 694 newly diagnosed patients with non-disseminated, biopsy-proven NPC. Survival analysis was used to evaluate the predictive value of PNI and weight loss.Results: Multivariate analysis demonstrated that a low pre-therapy PNI (< 55.0) was an independent predictor of poor overall survival (OS) (P = 0.012), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS) (P = 0.011) and progression-free survival (P = 0.012). High weight loss (HWL, weight loss during treatment ≥10 %) was an independent predictor of poor OS (P = 0.001) and DMFS (P = 0.014). Advanced stage disease, female gender, chemotherapy, high white blood cell count, high serum globulin concentration and pre-therapy body-mass index were predictors of HWL.Conclusion: Pre-therapy PNI and weight loss have significant predictive value for metastasis and mortality in patients with NPC. 43. Turning whispering-gallery-mode responses through Fano interferences in coupled all-dielectric block-disk cavities.

Abstract

Here, we theoretically demonstrate a strategy for efficiently turning whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) responses of a subwavelength dielectric disk through their near-field couplings with common low-order electromagnetic resonances of a dielectric block. Both simulations and an analytical coupled oscillator model show that the couplings are Fano interferences between dark high-quality WGMs and bright modes of the block. The responses of a WGM in the coupled system are highly dependent on the strengths and the relative phases of the block modes, the coupling strength, and the decay rate of the WGM. The WGM responses of coupled systems can exceed that of the individual disk. In addition, such a configuration will also facilitate the excitation of WGMs by a normal incident plane wave in experiments. These results could enable new applications for enhancing light-matter interactions.

44. Neural stem cell transplantation inhibits glial cell proliferation and P2X receptor-mediated neuropathic pain in spinal cord injury rats.

Abstract

P2X4 and P2X7 receptors play an important role in neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury. Regulation of P2X4 and P2X7 receptors can obviously reduce pain hypersensitivity after injury. To investigate the role of neural stem cell transplantation on P2X receptor-mediated neuropathic pain and explore related mechanisms, a rat model of spinal cord injury was prepared using the free-falling heavy body method with spinal cord segment 10 as the center. Neural stem cells were injected into the injured spinal cord segment using a micro-syringe. Expression levels of P2X4 and P2X7 receptors, neurofilament protein, and glial fibrillary acidic protein were determined by immunohistochemistry and western blot assay. In addition, sensory function was quantitatively assessed by current perception threshold. The Basso-Beattie-Bresnahan locomotor rating scale was used to assess neuropathological pain. The results showed that 4 weeks after neural stem cell transplantation, expression of neurofilament protein in the injured segment was markedly increased, while expression of glial fibrillary acidic protein and P2X4 and P2X7 receptors was decreased. At this time point, motor and sensory functions of rats were obviously improved, and neuropathic pain was alleviated. These findings demonstrated that neural stem cell transplantation reduced overexpression of P2X4 and P2X7 receptors, activated locomotor and sensory function reconstruction, and played an important role in neuropathic pain regulation after spinal cord injury.
