Nagrinėjami jos sukurti projektai, kurie aprėpia du laikotarpius – sovietinį ir atkurtos nepriklausomybės. Analizė grindžiama pačios dizainerės prisiminimais, jos asmeninio archyvo medžiaga. Jolanta Bagdzevičienė is one of the most prominent Lithuanian designers, a member of the Architects’ Union who won acclaim in various design competitions and exhibitions “Lithuanian Furniture”, “Furniture”, and the competition of “Product of the Year” held by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. Her creative career spans two periods – Soviet and newly independent Lithuania. Bagdzevičienė worked in exhibition design, designed furniture for home and public interiors. Bagdzevičienė’s professional career began in the early 1970s. In 1972, she started studying architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute (VISI; today, VGTU – Vilnius Gediminas Technical University). In 1977, she got a job at the leading institution of furniture design in Lithuania in the Soviet period – the Bureau of Furniture Design and Construction (hereinafter BFDC), where top Lithuanian designers were employed. At the BFDC, Bagdzevičienė worked at the Department of Home Furniture Design, and also designed furniture for public spaces, carcass furniture of various functions and chairs, took part in artistic councils, and was involved in developing the GOST standard. Bagdzevičienė’s projects created in the period before 1990 – furniture for the Palace of Achievements of National Economy of the LSSR (today, Vilnius Exhibition Palace, Litexpo), metal chairs for canteens, and modifications of the “Norwegian chair” – should be mentioned. The restoration of independence in Lithuania brought changes to all fields of life. The BFDC was dissolved. The former design creation and production chain also fell apart. Bagdzevičienė worked in the BFDC up until the restoration of independence in 1990, and later, like part of other former employees, was involved in the restructuring of the BFDC in the period of transition. Until 1998, Bagdzevičienė worked in the joint-stock company Skraja (today, AB Skraja, a furniture and industry centre), and later, at the Vilnius Furniture Production Company (today, AB Vilniaus baldai), SBA baldai company, and UAB Baldora. After the restoration of independence, Bagdzevičienė worked by commission for various institutions. She designed furniture for the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Lithuania, the customer service hall and administrative premises of the Vilnius branch of the Bank of Agriculture, offices, the canteen and conference halls of the Bank of Lithuania, and various embassies (the Embassy of Ukraine to Vilnius, the embassies of the Republic of Lithuania to Warsaw, Tallinn, and the Hague), designed furniture for offices and home furniture sets.

Bibliofilinės lietuvių dailininko knygos ištakos, siekiančios XX a. pirmą pusę, siejamos su grafikos meno klasikų Viktoro Petravičiaus, Pauliaus Augiaus Augustinavičiaus kūryba. Naujas šiuolaikinės dailininko knygos laikotarpis Lietuvoje įsibėgėjo atkūrus nepriklausomybę. Kūrybinis duetas – Kęstutis Vasiliūnas ir Roberta Vaigeltaitė-V. (Roberta Vaigeltaitė-Vasiliūnienė) yra tarp pagrindinių šiuolaikinės lietuvių dailininko knygos kūrėjų. Straipsnyje apžvelgiamos jų sukurtos dailininko knygos, aptariami meninės raiškos ypatumai, koncepcijos, sąveika su poligrafine knyga. In Lithuania, the era of a contemporary artist’s book began with the restoration of Independence. The year 1993 saw the opening of “The Book”, the first international show of artist’s books (Vilnius Contemporary Art Centre; cur. Kęstutis Vasiliūnas) which was followed by various presentations of book art in many other international art fairs abroad. Since 1997 Vasiliūnas has been curating the triennials dedicated to artist’s book (including “Diary: Eight Days”, “Love”, “The Rabbit and the House” and “23 Sins”). The 8th triennial “Memento Mori” (2018) took place in Vilnius Martynas Mažvydas Public Library, later the exposition was brought to the USA, Italy and Germany. The triennials dedicated to the artist’s book have been organised across the entire world. Since 1993, over 40 international shows and symposiums were held in Lithuania, Germany, USA, Austria, France, South Corea and elsewhere. Vasiliūnas has managed to assemble a growing international community dedicated to the genre of artist’s book. The extensive international interest in the Lithuanian artist’s book trienials testifies to the lasting importance of Vasiliūnas’ curatorial work. R. Vaigeltaitė-V. became part of the contemporary artist’s book movement back in the early 1990s. During the next 30 years she has created over 60 artist’s books, all unique in terms of their form and structure. Most of her books have a traditional format of a leafed codex, but she also made leporello concertinas and book-objects. The books were made of various types of paper, including hand-made paper, as well as plastic, linen fabric, natural materials and found objects. The artist’s books often involve mixed media such as linocut, wood block, colography, collage, stiching, ink jet print. The subjects of these diary-like records of everyday and travel experiences include mythology and religion. In terms of printing technique, Vaigeltaitė-V’s book art is related to graphic printing: the ideas she comes up with during the making of the artist’s book are then explored in graphic prints, and vice versa. The artistic scope of Prof. Kęstutis Vasiliūnas (Graphic Art Department, Vilnius Academy of Arts) is truly universal – he is a graphic artist, artist’s book designer, installation artist and curator. Vasiliūnas got interested in the artist’s book in the early 1990s. His first work – The Book of Creation – was exhibited at “The Book” (1993), a show dedicated to the genre of artist’s book. Vasiliūnas usually makes singular books and small print runs. Among the techniques he uses are coloured wood block print, longhand writing, drawing, ink jet print and movable type print. Vasiliūnas’ books retain their visual link with the traditional block-shaped book. Despite of what they are made of – be it wooden panels, paper, tea bags – they all have landscape or square-shaped rectangluar pages and they all feature lapels. The series of of tea bag book-objects was launched in the naugthties. Vasiliūnas also works as a graphic designer. His work is defined by an interplay between these two disciplines.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama vienos žymiausių šiuolaikinių Lietuvos dizainerių Rasos Baradinskienės kūryba, j os pristatymas. Reprezentacinis šios menininkės kūrybos tapatumas tiriamas atliekant kompleksinę, konteksto, lyginamąją, formos, meninės raiškos analizę. Siekiama išsiaiškinti dizainerės darbų savitumo, kūrybinio vardo, kūrybos pristatymo sąsajas ir reprezentacijos ypatumus. Text explores the creative work of one of the most famous Lithuanian designers, Rasa Baradinskienė, and its presentation. The representative identity of Baradinskienės creative work is researched using complex, contextual, comparative and artistic analysis. The aim of the study is to pinpoint the connections of uniqueness of her work, creative name and the attributes of presenting her work. Baradinskienės creative work came to prominence during a complicated time for Lithuanian design. The search for a unique creative identity, the publicity of design in Lithuania and aspects of presenting a newly restored independent Lithuanian state abroad became especially important. Rasa Baradinskienė, a freelance designer, graduated from Kaunas Applied Arts School with speciality in textile and embroidery (1985-1987). From 1988-1993 she studied at the Design department of Vilnius Academy of Arts. She created the "RASA deSIGN" brand in 2002. This creative brand was contrived when Rasa started participating in international exhibitions and the need for distinctive and concise presentation arose. Four areas of work are noted in the designers biography: projects of furniture and lights fixtures, accessories projects, and graphics in the interior and design concepts. The outstanding features of Baradinskienės design are: transformation (construction of objects), harmonious contrast (creative expression), feelings (emotional influence) and signs (visual perception). The design motive allows the artist to connect emotionally to the viewer of the object. It acquires a symbolic quality in Barandinskienės work and becomes the sign spanning all areas of her work. The "Sign" is confirmed by the main anthropomorphic motives of her works - smiley face, hand and doll. Their function is utilitarian and the aesthetics are based on a positive emotional response. In this way the designer creates and develops the idea of emotive design. One of the segments of presentation of creative work and brand identity is Rasa Baradinskienės creative output the exhibitions which have been especially numerous. She has participated in more than 50 exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad and has organised various exhibitions herself. The design objects presented at the shows are often created for exhibitions and design events and not commissioned by manufacturers. This way the possibilities for individual artistic expression were opened and the creative brand strengthened.

Akcentuojamas ankstyvasis, ketvirtojo dešimtmečio pabaigos, Petravičiaus kūrybinės veiklos laikotarpis. Tuo metu buvo išraižytos klasikinių bibliofilinių dailininko knygų "Gulbė karaliaus pati" ir "Marti iš jaujos" iliustracijos. Šiais leidiniais pradedama lietuvių dailininko knygos istorija. Jie turėjo didelės įtakos dailininko knygos raidai. Šiuo periodu menininkai perėmė prancūziškosios "livre d'artiste" principus. Taip susiformavo lietuvių bibliofilinės dailininko knygos tradicija. Šią tradiciją, pradėtą Petravičiaus, toliau tęsė Vincas Kisarauskas. Deja, niekas nesirūpino publikuoti ir platinti jo bibliofilinių dailininko knygų. Visuomenė pasinaudojo proga susipažinti su savita Kisarausko kūrybos sritimi - dailininko knyga - tik paskutinįjį XX a. dešimtmetį. Bibliofilinės dailininko knygos estetikos įtaka juntama ir šiomis dienomis. Šiuolaikiniai XX a. paskutiniojo dešimtmečio - XXI a. pradžios dailininkai remiasi bibliofilinės dailininko knygos tradicija, suformuota Petravičiaus ir jo kolegos Pauliaus Augiaus-Augustinavičiaus. Jiems svarbi Petravičiaus specifinė kūrybinė maniera: vienodos baltos ir juodos spalvos proporcijos ir harmonija tarp vizualinio teksto ir meninio vaizdo. Viktoras Petravičius is one of the leading creators of the artist's books in Lithuania. Two of his illustrated books "Swan the King's Wife" and "The Daughter- in-Law from the Barn " became the classics of Lithuanian bibliophilic artist's book. Apparently, printing and publishing of these books was one the largest projects of artist's books in Lithuania. The early oeuvre of Petravičius in the 1930s had a great influence on the development of artist's books. During this period the principles of French livre d'artiste were adopted, and the tradition of the Lithuanian bibliophilic artist's books was formed. The tradition of Lithuanian bibliophilic artist's books, initiated by Petravičius, was continued by Vincas Kisarauskas. Unfortunately, no-one bothered to publish and spread his bibliophilic artist's books more widely in the Soviet time. The society seized the opportunity to get acquainted with the distinctive sphere of Kisarauskas' oeuvre - artist's books - only in the last decade of the 20th с The contemporary artists of the last decade of the 20th с and beginning of the 21st с refer to the tradition of the bibliophilic artist's books formed by Petravičius and his colleague Paulius Augius- Augustinavičius. Until present artists who work on artist's books consider the specific creative touch of Petravičius to be important: like the proportion of black and white and the harmony between visual text and images. The interpretation of the aesthetics of Petravičius' oeuvre supplements exclusive, small edition, and polygraphic books of contemporary artists.

XX a. dešimtmetį Lietuvoje pradeda sparčiai plėtotis dailininko knygos sritis, atsiradusi pasaulinės dailininko knygos, turinčios šimtmečio tradicijas, kontekste. Tačiau Lietuvoje dar nėra aiškiai nustatyta, ką reiškia terminas "dailininko knyga" (ji dar vadinama menininko arba autorine knyga) ir kas tiksliai juo apibūdinama. Lietuvių dailininko knygos kūrėjai iš pradžių sekė klasikiniais tarpukario lietuvių bibliofilinės knygos pavyzdžiais, vėliau - perfrazavo maždaug prieš keturiasdešimt metų sukurtų ekspresionistinių Vakarų Europos minėtųjų veikalų plastiką. Vincas Kisarauskas yra vienas svarbiausių dailininko knygos kūrėjų Lietuvoje, jis ne tik atnaujino šią kūrybos sritį, bet darė įtaką ir jos tolesnei plėtrai. Jo kūriniai ženklina laikotarpį tarp bibliofilinės ir postmodernistinės dailininko knygos. Menininko darbuose tęsiama savita V. Petravičiaus ir P. Augiaus-Augustinavičiaus pradėta lietuviškosios bibliofilinės dailininko knygos tradicija, taip pat ieškoma naujos, laikotarpį atitinkančios meninės raiškos. Jo kūriniuose aiškiai suformuota savita dailininko knygos idėja ir plastinė raiška, kuri ir šiandien išlieka paveiki; autorius remiasi lietuvių ir pasauline tradicija bei pateikia naujovių. Menininko kūriniai turi glaudžias sąsajas ne tik su bendromis to meto novatoriškos formos paieškomis, bet ir kitomis jo meninės veiklos sritimis. In the decade of the 20th century the area of artist’s book, which emerged in the context of the global artist’s book, which had a century-old tradition commenced its rapid development in Lithuania. However in Lithuania the term “the artist’s book” (also known as the author’s book) and the subject, characterized by the term are still not clearly defined. In the beginning the creators of the Lithuanian artist’s book followed the classic examples of the bibliophile books of the interwar Lithuania, later they rephrased the plastics of the expressionistic Western European works, created forty years before. Vincas Kisarauskas is one of the most important creators of the artist’s book in Lithuania, since he both resurrected the area and influenced its further development. His works mark the period from the bibliophile to the postmodern artist’s book. The artist’s works continue a peculiar tradition of the Lithuanian bibliophile artist’s book, started by V. Petravičius and P. Augius-Augustinavičius and manifest with searching for a new artistic expression, corresponding the period. V. Kisarauskas’s works stand out with a clearly shaped peculiar idea of the artist’s book and the plastic expression, which still is able to affect; the author refers to the Lithuanian and global tradition and provides innovations. His works are closely related both with the common searches for innovative forms of the period and other areas of his artistic activities.

Straipsnyje nagrinėjamos XX a. paskutiniame dešimtmetyje–XXI a. pradžioje lietuvių sukurtos dailininko knygos, dauguma jų yra knygos-objektai; siekiama rasti dailininko knygos sąsaja su tradicine, atsekti jos plastinės sandaros tęstinumą menininkų sukurtuose artefaktuose; pasitelkus šios srities užsienio autorių kūrinius išsamiau palyginama, kaip simbolį, metaforą bei alegoriją supranta ir tuo naudojasi dailininkai. Dailininko knygos raida Lietuvoje prasidėjo tik XX a. ketvirtajame dešimtmetyje. Estetines dailininko knygos savybes lėmė tai, kad dalis knygų buvo skirtos bibliofilams įsigyti. Bibliofilinei lietuvių dailininko knygai būdingas aiškus grafiškumas. Paskutinio XX a. dešimtmečio ir XXI a. pradžios lietuvių knygos-objektai pretenduoja į įprastinę knygos erdvę, lygiai kaip ir atveria papildomą; šiuolaikinės dailininko knygos yra meno kūriniai, turintys savas taisykles. Jų nebesieja priklausomybė nuo iliustravimo, dailininko knyga išsilaisvino iš lankstomo ir verčiamo lapo tiesės, nors tai vis dar primena. Šiuolaikinės dailininko knygos autoriai dažnai remiasi alegorija ar istorinių formų raida, neretai naudoja bendrus kultūrinius simbolius, pvz., dėžės formą ar knygą vaizduoja kaip sielos veidrodį ir dvasios peną. Straipsnyje aptariami atskirų judėjimų (FLUXUS) ar dailininkų (J. Mačiūno, K. Grigaliūno, D. Radavičiūtės ir kt.) darbai, analizuojamas skaitmeninių technologijų poveikis dailininko knygos pokyčiams. The article contains the analysis of the artist’s books published by Lithuanians during the last decade of the 20th century and in the beginning of the 21st century, most of which are book-objects. The author strives to find the connection of the artist’s book with the traditional book, to trace the continuance of its plastic structure in the artefacts created by artists; with the help of the works of foreign authors working in this field a more detailed comparison is made on how artists understand symbol, metaphor and allegory and how they use it.. The evolution of the artist’s book in Lithuania began in the fourth decade of the 20th century. Aesthetic characteristics of the artist’s book are predetermined by the fact that some of the books have been intended for the purchase by bibliophiles. Bibliophilic book of the Lithuanian artist has distinct graphic characteristics. Book-objects made by Lithuanian artists during the last decade of the 20th century and in the beginning of the 21st century aspire to usual space of the book and also open the additional space; modern artist’s books are works of art and have their own rules. They are no longer linked by dependency upon illustration; the artist’s book made itself free from the straight line of the folded and turned pages, although it does still remind us of them. The authors of the modern artist’s book often refer to allegories or the evolution of historical forms, and often use common cultural symbols, for example, the box form or book is reflected as the mirror of the soul and food for the soul. The works of separate movements (FLUXUS) or artists (J. Mačiūnas, K. Grigaliūnas, D. Radavičiūtė, etc.) works are discussed in the article, and the impact of the digital technologies on the changes in the artist’s book is analysed. The publication is illustrated by photos of works by Relita Mažuolytė and Alain Stanke.

XX a. paskutiniajame dešimtmetyje Lietuvoje prasidėjo aktyvi dailininko knygos raida. 1990 m. atkūrus nepriklausomybę, menininkai turėjo daugiau galimybių susipažinti su užsienio dailininko knygos plėtote, įsitraukti į bendrą pasaulinį judėjimą bei rasti savitų ypatumų. Susidomėjimas dailininko knyga nuolat didėja (tai rodo gausus parodų dalyvių skaičius): kūrėjus traukia neišnaudotos šios srities meninės raiškos galimybės, glaudžios sąsajos su kitomis dailės rūšimis. Dailininko knygos kuriamos įvairia tematika, tarp jų ir religine. Pastarajai tematikai buvo skirtos dvi Lietuvoje surengtos dailininko knygos parodos: 2000 m. Vilniaus galerijoje „Arka“ įvyko antroji dailininko knygos trienalė „Apokalipsė“ ir 2003 m. Šiuolaikinio meno centre trečioji tarptautinė dailininko knygos trienalė „23 nuodėmės“. Trienales organizavo ir tematiką siūlė K. Vasiliūnas – vienas pagrindinių dailininko knygos kūrėjų Lietuvoje, jo kūryba glaudžiai susijusi su Šventraščio siužetais. „Apokalipsė“ rengta amžių sandūroje, todėl jos pavadinimą diktavo simboliškas pranašauto Bažnyčios ir pasaulio likimo laukimas. Menininkai gana tiesiogiai perfrazavo krikščioniškosios ikonografijos motyvus, tačiau jų kūriniai skyrėsi meninės raiškos būdais ir estetika. Trienalės „23 nuodėmės“ kūriniuose dailininkai telkėsi Dešimt Dievo įsakymų, Septynias didžiąsias nuodėmes, skaičiavo ir savąsias ydas. Kurdami knygas, daugelis antrosios ir trečiosios tarptautinių dailininko knygos trienalių Lietuvoje autorių rinkosi ritinėlio pavidalo knygą. The topic of the article is the contemporary artist's book. The artist's book in Lithuania is a significant field of art. It started to develop rapidly in the last decade of the 20th century. Interest in the artist's book is constantly growing. The article focuses on international triennial exhibitions that have been organized in Lithuania. In the items shown the artists interpreted various religious inspirations. The author is trying to find out the source of inspiration, the intentions that are reflected in the artist's works.

Priimta skirti dvi istoriškai susiformavusias dailininko knygos kryptis. XIX a. pabaigoje-XX a. pradžioje Prancūzijoje atsiradusi vadinamoji livre d'artiste (dailininko knyga) siejama su meniniais bibliofilams skirtais leidiniais. Lietuvoje dailininko knygos pradžia - XX a. 4-asis dešimtmetis, Nepriklausomybės atkūrimas Lietuvoje lėmė jos plėtotę. Paskutiniojo dešimtmečio pradžioje atsirado galimybių Lietuvos dailininkams susipažinti su svetur susiformavusia dailininko knygos samprata, šios srities užsienio autorių kūryba ir išplėtoti savitas tendencijas, įsitraukti į bendrą pasaulinį judėjimą. Lietuvoje dailininko knygos reiškinys įgijo tarptautinę reikšmę. Tradicinės knygos virsmą unikalia, individualia dailininko knyga lėmė bendri kultūros pokyčiai. Išplėtojus masines informacijos priemones tradicinė knyga ima prarasti savo ankstesnę reikšmę. Dailininko knygoje, kai nebesiekiama kaupti, perduoti ir saugoti informacijos, atsiranda naujas, tiesioginis meninės raiškos ryšys su realybe. Joje taikomos netekstinės vizualios formos kaip estetinė kokybė. Straipsnyje nagrinėjama lietuvių dailininko knygos samprata ir pagrindinės formos. Remiantis dailininkų kūriniais, literatūriniais šaltiniais, siekiama išsamiau apibūdinti savitus Lietuvos dailininko knygos bruožus, kuriuos plėtoja šiuolaikiniai menininkai. Taip pat tapo aktualu apibendrinti Lietuvos dailininko knygos raidos kryptį, įtakas, sąsajas su knygos meno tradicija ir grafika. Traditionally two historically shaped directions of the artist’s book are distinguished. The so-called livre d’artiste (the artist’s book), which emerged in France at the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century is related with artistic publications, targeted at bibliophiles. The beginnings of the artist’s book in Lithuania are the thirties of the 20th century and the reinstatement of independence of Lithuania encouraged development of the genre. In the beginning of the last decade there emerged possibilities for Lithuanian artists to get familiarized with the concept of the artist’s book, which had shaped in the foreign countries, the oeuvre of the foreign authors in the area, develop their own peculiar trends and get involved into the global movement. The phenomenon of the artist’s book in Lithuania acquired an international significance. The transition of the traditional book into a unique individual artist’s book was determined by the common culture changes. Upon the expansion of the mass media tools the traditional book commenced losing its previous significance. A new direct relation between the artistic expression and the reality emerged in the artist’s book, when there was no longer the need to accumulate, convey and store information, there emerged a new direct connection between the artistic expression and the reality, in which such non-textual visual forms as aesthetic quality are applied. The article examines the concept and main forms of Lithuanian artist’s book. Referring to artists’ creations and literary sources, attempts are made to more comprehensively characterize the peculiar traits of the Lithuanian artist’s book, developed by the modern artists. In addition, it became relevant to summarize the direction of development of the Lithuanian artist’s book, the influences and the relations with the book art traditions and graphics.

Magistrantūros teorinėje dalyje nagrinėjamas žmogaus gyvenimas kosmose ir kosminių aparatų dizaino kriterijai. Pirmoje dalyje susipažįstama su istoriniu kosminio skrydžio kontekstu, apžvelgiamos komercinių kosminių skrydžių realijos ir perspektyvos, pažymima dizaino svarba kosmoso turizmui. Taip pat apžvelgiama kosminių aparatų tipologija, siekiant atrasti optimaliausią dizaino objektą tolesniam tyrimui. Antroje dalyje apžvelgiami unikalūs kosminėje erdvėje žmogų veikiantys faktoriai ir jų pasekmės. Trečioje dalyje analizuojama turistinės orbitinės stoties struktūra. Remiantis realiais analogais, įvardijamos nesvarumo būklėje kylančios probleminės situacijos bei galimi jų sprendimai. Funkcinės analizės būdu suformuojamos gairės magistrantūros projektiniam darbui. Human process of living in space and spacecraft design requirements are examined in this Master’s thesis. In part one we take a look at the historical background of space exploration, the current state and future prospects of commercial spaceflight. The importance of design in space tourism industry is stressed. Also, the classification of human spacecraft is summarized in order to select the optimal subject for the subsequent analysis. In part two we review the unique conditions and human factors in an orbital spaceflight situation. In part three, orbital space-tourism station structure is analyzed. Based on real-life analogues, we indicate problematic situations caused by weightlessness, and ponder upon possible solutions. By the means of functional analysis, guidelines are formed for the Master’s design project.
